Guard Artis Hicks is out with a neck injury. John Jerry starts at right guard, as I reported yesterday. Kevin Burnett (back) is not playing so Gary Guyton starts for him. And as I previously read on this blog, Karlos Dansby (knee) also isn't playing while Austin Spitler takes his spot.

The rest of the Dolphins scratches tonight:

David Garrard (knee), Kelcie McCray (foot), Kevyn Scott (leg), Jonas Gray (knee), Burnett (back), Dansby (knee), Lydon Murtha (foot), Tony McDaniel (leg) and Brian Hartline (leg).

The Murtha injury is interesting in that he missed much of last season with a foot injury. It is unknown if it's the same foot but this is not good.

Vontae Davis is scheduled to play so you can now totally discoun the idea he's going to be traded in the next day or so.

...I just hope there are no serious injuries tonight. A brutal one last night in the Tennessee game.. My man Mariani out for the year with an ugly compound fracture..Theisman style..

I don't think the team has shown what the offense will really look like this season. I expect a bit more concentration on the running game tonight. What I want to see, and I'm not sure we will unveil this. Is the use of the running backs as recievers out of the backfield. Bush is probably our best pass catching threat(IMO) should be easy pickings should we be able to block someone..

As far as evaluating Tannehill. Can we? Is our defense that bad that his good work in camp is a mirage? Are our recievers even competant enough to get speration where Tannehill has a target to make a throw without forcing the ball? We will see. The falcons haven't exactly been murderers row as far as pass rush goes. May be a good night for the offensive line to get some confidence..Even with the scratches. Players need to show up no matter where they sit on the depth chart.
