Guard Artis Hicks is out with a neck injury. John Jerry starts at right guard, as I reported yesterday. Kevin Burnett (back) is not playing so Gary Guyton starts for him. And as I previously read on this blog, Karlos Dansby (knee) also isn't playing while Austin Spitler takes his spot.
The rest of the Dolphins scratches tonight:
David Garrard (knee), Kelcie McCray (foot), Kevyn Scott (leg), Jonas Gray (knee), Burnett (back), Dansby (knee), Lydon Murtha (foot), Tony McDaniel (leg) and Brian Hartline (leg).
The Murtha injury is interesting in that he missed much of last season with a foot injury. It is unknown if it's the same foot but this is not good.
Vontae Davis is scheduled to play so you can now totally discoun the idea he's going to be traded in the next day or so.
And finally, we have a live blog going this evening. I'll meet you in the comments section at kickoff.

I thought about it. He's probably as happy as I am when I watch the toilet water go away. Isn't that amazing, and no one knows how it works. All I knowp is it carries my useless seed to the sewer so I don't create more messes like me. Thank god for toilets!

Odin, unlike others, I have always appreciated your intellectual comments and football acumen. Your humor is exponential! Perhaps, it is over the heads of certain posers, err, I mean posters! I'll explain it in shooter's jargon, humor on this blog is like shooting skeet, low and to the left will get them every time!!!
Posted by: redsky | August 24, 2012 at 11:24 PM
Oh yeah, LOL
Posted by: Vazman | August 24, 2012 at 11:25 PM
Cadillac, excellent!!! But you forgot to add that Ireland also missed out on 2 top coaches, Harbaugh and Fisher!!!
Posted by: redsky | August 24, 2012 at 11:27 PM
Redsky, are you long?

And price master admits hes a name changing jet fan troll who can never be taken seriously. The blog spits in his face. I mean really, has anyone ever read a dumber post than cadillacs?
Posted by: The Blog | August 24, 2012 at 11:28 PM
I don't know If I could take another 4 years of Ireland. Totally serious!
Can **ANYBODY** see a scenario in which Ireland gets canned **WHILE** Tannehill is doing good to great?
I'll answer myself: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
So really, at this point, there's really no reason to even be discussing Ireland. Hopefully he's studying other teams rosters trying to find some Linebackers and Receivers off the waiver wires. I know it ain't the best of propositions, but, Jeff's been here 4 years. what cha gonna do?
Anyways, the only thing you can do is root against Ireland's players. Root against the team amd root for them to fail miserably.
Yeah......thats the way to be a fan.

Clearly, Mike Nolan had no problem defending against Hennehill
Posted by: Dashi | August 24, 2012 at 11:29 PM
Right Dashi, its easy to defend against a qb who is on the field with only one receiver who could get open apnd catch the ball. Try not to be so stupid in the future.
Posted by: Vazman | August 24, 2012 at 11:33 PM
Did Hogan play tonight! I may have dozed off.
Posted by: redsky | August 24, 2012 at 11:37 PM
Great point Dashi, Henne had three years and a full college career to prove himself. Tannehill only deserves 2 qtrs in his first start in a preseason game with no receivers and a TE who dropped 3 passes. Great opinion idiot.

**ANOTHER FAKE NAME HAS BEEN EXPOSED
Earlier today Mr. Deville kept posting SMF/Pricemasters familiar rant:
Garrard will be the starter, Moore the back up.
Then tonight:
Let's review how we got to this exalted spot:
1. Henne spit in Ireland's face and left as a FA
(PriceMaster predicted in this blog in Jan that we would sign the QB released by the team that signed Henne, look it up)
And......
5. Ireland signed Garrard, the QB released by the team that signed Henne (PriceMaster's prophecy came true)

Bhaaaaaaaaaant-you could tell he wanted to pat himself on the back one more time.

Posted by: Kris | August 24, 2012 at 11:56 PM
Kris,
Fast forward 17 years. Would you be pleased if your daughter brought home an odin, or deeply, deeply disappointed in her?
Be honest.

Odin, not quite as long as your current nom de plume!
Posted by: redsky | August 24, 2012 at 11:46 PM
Come on Redsky, that was funny.
But I haven't posted since Alice Cooper and the Muppets.
You not being able to recognize my fan club(monkey boy)makes me wonder.........about you..........sometime............
On a Serious note the Game gets re-broadcast on the NFL Network at 10:00 AM Sunday morning.

Craig M....
when you wake up...please tell me why IRELAND himself said we have a bunch of 4,5,6...but no 1,2s......
He did build this team......
Posted by: Kris | August 24, 2012 at 11:59 PM
QM.....not gonna answer that one....
Posted by: Kris | August 25, 2012 at 12:00 AM
Ireland vouched for every single one of the crappy receivers......TEs included....
this is embarrassing....
Posted by: Kris | August 25, 2012 at 12:02 AM
Wake looked like WAKE...awesome....
Posted by: Kris | August 25, 2012 at 12:04 AM
Redsky,Matt Moore got Soprano fired in October and Mando revealed to us that the reason for the early firing was because Bill Cowher would not discussa head coaching job that was currntly filled.
So
Plan A: Bill Cowher - he spit in Ireland's face
Plan B: Jon Gruden - he spit in Ireland's face on ESPN
Plan C: Jeff Fisher - H spit in Ireland's face on TV, adio and Print
Plan D: Joe Philbin: according to Mando he displayed his package for Ross and Ireland to admire and they gave him the job but it wasn't because no one else wanted it, a lot of people wanted the job but not the ones that spit in Ireland's face.

On another more somber...and redundant note.....
RYAN MALLETT looked AWESOME....and mobile.....not run for 20 yards mobile....kinda like move the pocket...marino mobile....you guys remember him right....
PATS get 20 years of GREAT QB play....
Posted by: Kris | August 25, 2012 at 12:08 AM
That is an answer Kris. Not exactly a vote of confidence for odin, but I do understand, believe me.
Posted by: QM | August 25, 2012 at 12:14 AM
Odin, did you mean I was funny, or you were funny? The follow-up question would then be, what kind of funny? Hah!
I haven't been on the blog much, except for a comment here or there, until today. So I'm not quite caught up on 'monkey boy' and the 'coalition' pen name. But as a fog dissipates in the early morning sun, things are becoming clearer. I've solved the coalition issue and am working on monkey boy. At least I know it's not me, since I haven't been on, BTW, did I tell you our blog conversation at the end of last year helped save my life? If I didn't I'll expound.

Mitt Romney and Bain Capital use to take failing companies and turn them around. Then they would leverage the company right before they destroyed it.
Thus, making huge amounts of cash because they bought the stock at 2 dollars a share back when it was krap. Once the stock was up around 200 dollars a share they tanked the company and made millions.
Point being this...Ross is doing the exact same thing. He is actively marketing this team trying to increase the value of its "stock"
This dude is a vulture capitalist...not an NFL owner.

The fans, Miami, Florida and NFL followers around the world deserve better than Stephen Ross.
