Chad Johnson has officially bonded out of jail at this hour but the details of the Saturday arrest that has his Dolphins career hanging by a thread are coming out via the police report.
According to the report, Johnson and his wife Evelyn Lozada returned from shopping around 7:10 p.m. Saturday. When Lozada was taking grocieries out of the trun of the car she "located a Walgreen's receipt in the vehicle's trunk for a box of condoms."
"The two then sat inside of their black smart car that was parked in the driveway directly in front of the house. They began talking about the sales receipt and their marriage. As they were talking Johnson became upset and without Lozada's permission grabbed her and head-butted her on the forehead causing a laceration. Johnson began screaming and Lozada attempted to calm Johnson down. He began screaming, "I don't give a (expletived deleted)! I don't give a (expletive deleted) about my career!"
"Lozada then fled on foot to a neighbor's house to get away from Johnson."
The police report goes on to say that Johnson claimed it was Lozada who head-butted him rather than the other way around. Johnson, the police report said, had no visible marks or bruises. Lozada, the report says, has a laceration approximately three-inches long.
Interestingly, Lozada told police she wished to press charges and signed an affidavit of complaint stating as much. That was before she was transported to a hospital. At the hospital, Lozada was treated, photos of her injury were taken, and a sworn statement was taped.
So much for the idea she won't be cooperating with the prosecution.

Back off Canosa.
Chad and I are going re-write the P O R N O record books!

It sucks. Dolphintalk.wordpress.com is great(it's moderated)but not enough news and posters. The people that do go there are all Good Posters. It's actually pretty good there. I just wish we had a few more regular hardcores so the conversations could be continuous.

..So IMO..This is the perfect time to cut ties with Johnson. This isn't an over reaction to what may or may not have happened last night. Personally I don't care..This has everything to do with the fact i do not think he offeres anything more then a side show clown circus to this team. I do not think he makes the team any better, and in fact perhaps worse. Do we lose anything by cutting our loses here? Some more "dead money"on the books that Ireland is so good at? What would we lose by letting this sideshow roll?
Posted by: Darryl Dunphy | August 12, 2012 at 04:19 PM
Jaison you are right. You nailed it. But this type of blog is apparently what Armando wants because it is condoned. Kind of like his failed radio show, crude, rude, unattractive and lacking in sports knowledge.

I am surprised so many of our faithful are willing to cut our most proven (and probably best) WR for a mere ACCUSATION without DUE PROCESS...a TRIAL...or even having more than a cursory glimpse @ the initial reports...I guess its EVIDENCE BE DAMED.....
Let the witch hunts begin...
I accuse you....and by definition...you are guilty....

Posted by: Kris | August 12, 2012 at 04:27 PM
To me, the whole story sounds weird.. Why would Lozada try to calm him down after he just head-butted her and caused her to bleed? Why would he be telling her "I don't give a *&*( about my career"... Why she threaten him in any way to ruin his career and perhaps his chances of proving people wrong for him cheating on her?
I'm not buying Lozada's story... sorry
Posted by: dfins006 | August 12, 2012 at 04:27 PM
DD,
What you guys failed to realize is, we lose nothing by holding on to CJ to the final cut anyway. Friday nite he had one pass thrown his way and one drop.
There are 3 more preseason games left. IMO, wisdom suggests let use the final 3 preseason games to determine if CJ is worth the small risk(only a $million)or not. If his preseason play puts him on the final preseason cut list. We dont pay him anything anyway.
Im sure his contract clause includes he has to make the team to earn the money. Even without this incident, Im sure the only way he was worthy keeping anyhow, was he has to be a starter. He's too old(34) to stash on the 2nd or 3rd team depth chart.

Posted by: Kris | August 12, 2012 at 04:31 PM
Darryl,
I get what you're saying. OK, last nights incident aside, you think Johnson is more of a detriment, than an asset.
Fine. We let him go. But then that means what?
Hartline, Naanee and Bess as the starters?
You seriously think Miami will be a better team with the above? Or the lineup of Johnson, Naanee and Bess?
Last nights incident aside, I haven't seen enough of Moore, Pruitt or Wallace to just cut him. Hartline too. He's OK, but you know he's pretty much maxed out.
It's a conundrum!

There is no America, in the way you think there should be. Besides, the media is all too powerful. It takes very little to sway the opinion of the majority. Fairness is not part of the equation, we just pretend it is.
Posted by: Ben F. | August 12, 2012 at 04:33 PM
..Kris..This is a perfect time to rid this orginization of this clown. This is just my opinion. But since day 1 i thought it was a HUGE mistake bringing Johnson here. Sadly this incedent did happen. Johnson could be 100 percent innocent..I get that. I just think this gives the team the opportunity to let him go. I don't think he is much of a football player anymore. I think he is more interested in acting a fool then really contributing to a team..I think his act is tired, and run it's course. If it is worth 20-30 catches 3-4 td's great. but I think we can get just as much if not more production from the young guys.
As cheap as it sounds this is the time to make this happen for the greater good of this franchise. Chad Johnson is nothing more then a horn blower.

The 2012 Phish are not Super Bowl Contenders. We all know this. In my view we are a developmental team, so I feel that the only vet WR that we should keep is Devon Bess. I would keep 6 WR's and the other 5 would be Pruitt, Wallace, Fuller, Cunningham, and Matthews.Could they be any worse than Hartline, Naanee, and Johnson...you betcha...could they be alot better...perhaps. So as a team on the rise, bring the young guys along and jetison the old dead weight.I just dont see the sense of letting 1 or more of these young wideouts get away when the vets you keep are not making anyone forget Duper and Clayton.

It does cost us something to hold Chad until the final cut. It will cost Philbin credibility issues. It is already a distraction and will continue to be whether he behaves or not. It costs practice reps that can go to otherse. It cost too much to keep him any longer.

Posted by: Coalition To Get Coalition Out Of The Closet | August 12, 2012 at 04:38 PM
Just let the decision to cut CJ be a "football decision". CJ doesnt have a history with the law, so on a 1st run in with law, it's very unfair for the fins org to play judge, jury, and executioner far before all of the facts are in.
We lose nothing at all by using the last 3 preseason games as rope to let CJ hang himself. Though preseason game 1(dropped only pass attempted to him) is a extremely small sampling size. It's already CJ earns a starting spot, or he's out the door anyway.
This has been a win-win situation for the team since CJ's signing. He becomes a starter and it's only 1 million spent. He doesnt, and he would have been shown the door. Cussing tirade at his interview, and this latest incident, or not.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone | August 12, 2012 at 04:40 PM
Daryl.....
In some ways I agree with you....after watching Hard Knocks yesterday....I too feel that Johnson is little more than a clown who disrespects the game....and ALL who he love it...but I thought that long before the FINS signed him...and LONG before that episode.....
were we differ is production.....
I thank he can still play...I think Belicheat wanted to prove something to the world...and belicheat hs the luxury of a being able to bench/cut potential fring HOFers.....
Philbin...NOT SO MUCH.....i believe Johnson stays....and we ALL appreciate him for his football prowess come DEC.....
Posted by: Kris | August 12, 2012 at 04:41 PM
Way to much over reaction. Yes, What Chad did was wrong.
But we need to think things thru. I understand Chad is Hard headed but his face looks fine for someone who just Slashed someone elses face open. I expected to see a Bump on His Coconut Head at least.
This wouldn't be a hard decision if FlatLine was playing. But since we don't have a Legit Wr. It makes this situation something that the Fins have to take their time with.
Yes, Chad dropped the 1 Pass. But did u see how Open he was. The skills are still there, a little bit.
Which other Wr on the Roster gets as much Separation? Flatline? Naanee?

If you haven't seen Chad whatever he's calling himself now Bond hearing, it's must see TV. It is video proof of the only time he was EVER captured on camera, where 3 people are talking and he doesn't utter a word.
Posted by: Stinco Say What ? | August 12, 2012 at 04:45 PM
Philbin's credibility? Who says that, Armando? Who made Armando king of what it is and isnt?
What will cost Philbin credibilty issues, is if this team shows no sign of improvement over the next couple years. Or a Cam Cameron type 1st and only year(1-15).
If that happens(1-15)Philbin can cut CJ at this now and very moment and still wont be back as fins hc in 2013. Winning and losing determines a hc's credibility. Dont let Armando establish his faulty thinking on your brain.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone | August 12, 2012 at 04:46 PM
Crusher,
That's all fine and dandy. Except we have a rookie 1st rounder that needs to develop too.
Tannehill is playing good. He could possibly step up and earn the starting job. I think it would be a HUGE mistake in Tannehill's development, hanging him out there with a bunch of youngsters and Rookies.
At the VERY LEAST, Nannee and Bess have to stay for Tannehill's sake.
If he's going to start this year and learn on the fly, he HAS TO HAVE experienced veteran receivers to work with.
I understand what you're saying and this isn't any kind of personal attack. I even agree with the principle. But overall and realistically speaking, I would go the other direction and try to get Tannehill as many experienced receivers as possible.
I would keep 6 too and some of the young guys. Wallace and Pruitt have looked good. But in regards to Tannehill, I have to get some experienced vets.
-Odin- ;)

Hey Coalition
Most domestic charges are misdemeanors. Does that make it right and okay? Malicous intent brings felony into play. He flew off the coop for being caught a cheater. Don't thin the commish isn't looking at this one. He and Chad are fairly close ya know.
