Bush season not threatened by knee injury

Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said he didn't know what Reggie Bush's status is and the running back had already left the locker room when the media was allowed in following today's 23-20 overtime loss to the Jets.

But a source tells me the injury to Bush's left knee is not season-threatening.

In fact, Bush initially expected to go back into today's game but then the knee stiffened on him. Bush will go for a re-check Monday to make sure nothing is wrong beyond the minor damage that caused the stiffness.

He should be OK.

[UPDATE: Bush had an MRI Monday morning. He has no major issues. He may miss some practice time but he could be available as early as Sunday's game at Arizona. He should be 100 percent within a week.]

I would cut this d a little slack if it was Brady-Brees-Rodgers. But you cant make 20pts stick against the awful Sanchez. Geesh, what happens when Brady comes to town.

I dont usually post on these but god d%$%n,dont you think yhey could have given me 5 more yards.I could haave made a 43 yarder but s$&^t 48 thats like 50 friggen yards God D^&(%$tt.

YG, did you even watch the game? Doesnt sound like you did.

Gotta go guys, this is going nowhere. Just consider me still here under cut and paste. LOL

YG,

The defense was on the field a long time. The Dolphins offense after Reggie Bush left did nothing. Remember that the Jets offense only scored 16 points the other 7 are on Tannehill (pick 6).

i know everything, that's why i married a Jets fan and slurped his penisss every night!

So we beat handily a Raiders team that just beat the Steelers. They put up only 13 pts vs us but 34 against what should be a great defense in Pitt. We were battling the Texans for most of the first half up until we had 3 horrible minutes to close the 2nd qtr. The same Texans team that went to Denver and put up 31 to what should be a top 5 defense...I dont know what to make of our team, like i've said before, we are competitive at times but seem to lose the games on mistakes or lack of clutch plays

missed field goals nough said

One last thought:

Pats up 13-0 on Ravens. Good thing we didnt have Brady in town today, the Ravens have a defense.

If's if's if's...If Sanchez would of hit all those open WRs today, they probably have 14 more points on the board...How many open WRs did he miss today?? The one in the end zone, the one that was about 4 yards behind Smith but Sanchez overthrew him by 10, etc etc... You win as a team, you lose as a team. Bottom line is the offense didn't do enough, the defense didn't come up with a big play when it was needed and our kicker and the rest of the special teams had a bad day. That's it. Don't look anywhere else...

This game was lost when Reggie Buah went down on a stupid and meaningless run while trying to run out the half. You would think Philbin would learn after he made the same mistake with Thomas in the Texans game. The fact he continues to make the same boneheaded mistake is a big concern.

The player who is the biggest goat is Daniel Thomas. This guy just runs into his own offensive lineman and has no instincts. He flat out sucks. Great job Ireland!

Lamar Miller had a good game but the guy cant block anyone. Hence the need to keep Thomas in the game.

The Timeout on a FG was stupid. You don't try to ice a kicker on a short kick. You only try to ice them on a long one.

Yeah Carpenter had a rough day but blame the coaching staff for calling bad plays and not giving him an easier kick.

This loss is 100% on the coaching staff who really let down the players and the fans!! Hope this isn't Cam Cameron over again.

And if Bush doesn't go down this game turns into a Miami blowout. The game shouldn't have even been close. Congrats to the coaching staff for running Bush up the middle to run out the clock. Hope it was worth it!! Hope you learn how to kneel down the ball instead of taking worthless risks...

Tannehill had 20 incomplete passes and 0 touchdowns with an interception for a pick six!
Tannehill sucks!

Why the Hell did we draft this punk!

Tannehill is pathetic.

Call me if your a lonely Jets fan looking for a date!

Tannehill had 20 incomplete passes and 0 touchdowns with an interception for a pick six!
Tannehill sucks!

Go to Hell Dolphins! Were are the Jet fans!

As per the usual, Odin with his worn out schtick of gatrard, trolls, telling ppl to stfu. Ruins yet another blog.

If only he'd use his own advice this blog would be better off. That advice being STFU!

You whining, miserable,, low life, egotistcal, moronic, pathetic, piece of trash!

The defense and running game will keep us in most games but with no chunk plays on offense and no game changing playmakers on defense our margin for error is 0. Through three games I don't think anyone can be surprised by what we've seen. Can't wait to see Tannehill in person next Sunday.

carp dont feel bad.i missed a 45 yarder in san diego and it cost us a trip to the afc champion ship game back in 95.yeah they will fire you like they did me but at least we didnt screw up as bad as garo back in 72 that loser will never show his face in miami again.

YG, yes, Smith got lucky on that play, really really lucky, the ball was overthrown, so were some of Tannehill's passes. If Sanchez hits his WR on that play Jests get 7, but if we're talking hypothetical situations: if Tannehill didn't overthrow Hartline in the endzone on that touch route we'd have 7, or if Tannehill didn't overthrow Hartline on that play down the sidelines and he caught it in stride it would have been an easy TD. That equates to 14 points missed so that argument can go either way. Can't really say Sanchez misses his TE on that 3rd and goal cause he was on his way down and was lucky enough to get it even close to him.

Other than those I mentioned the Jests really didn't have any other opportunities. They gave up that long pass to Holmes in OT and screwed up on that 70 yard pass. That's it.

You're saying the same thing about the Steelers defense, is that you're only argument? I don't believe the Steelers threw a pick 6 or fumbled the ball on their side of the field to help give the Jests those points. So the defense couldn't make 13 points that they let up stick. I'll take 13 points allowed by my defense EVERY GAME, our offense should be able to do better than 13 points, they didn't, they hurt the situation

We keep losing and than our dreams will come true for 90% of the dolphin nation, it gets JI closer to getting fired if we only win one or two games, that's the only positive we will get out of it! But I like our teams fight and Tannehill progression, today's lost was coaching on both side of the ball. Hey they are rookies to!

No Dolphin player had a great game today...Think of it...That's where lack of talent hurts you...Everybody had moments but nobody had a GREAT GAME...We didn't have a Santonio Holmes on offense, that would of been HUGE. We didn't have a REVIS on defense, that would of been HUGE. Luckily for us, he got hurt, because he was really playing at a high level. We need more talent, plain and simple. Guys will play hard, give it all they've got but sometimes having playmakers really makes a difference. Holmes was unstoppable as the game went on...

No no no YG don't go anywhere, because none of us agree with you doesn't mean you are allowed to leave. I'm throwing a hailstorm of bullets at you and you're throwing "the steelers defense made it hold up" as your main point. We're in the ring you can't just tap out

To be totally honest...

I haven't seen anything from Tanne that makes him franchise material.

I haven't even seen a glimpse of franchise material from Tanne.

Even you homers have to admit that. The Raiders win and the Jets loss did not impress me on Tanne.

Much respect for Bush but he can't do it all by himself.

This team with Bush is like the Heat without James, Wade AND Bosh. We have one playmaker that brings it every game. Hartline is good when he is WIDE OPEN. He is not that good when he is covered tight.

I haven't seen him go up and take it from nobody. He is usually wide open or diving for the catch.

Why aren't you mentioning the 1st and goal on the 1 that they held for a FG, or the OT drive which they stalled the Jests defense and got the ball back to the offense, or the interception in the endzone that prevented at least 3 points

The offense, coaching (Sherman), and carpenter is to blame, not the defense. They played their a**es off and deserved the win

I hope you don't mind, but I edited your post. This is a FACT(Great Post-BTW).

This defense needs work and more playmakers. And they're going to get BOTH very soon. Having said that, not a bad outing today. This Defense can be GREAT very easily. It's definitely something to build on.

The D Thomas fumble was NOT a fumble. The entire pile was on the ground when the ball came popping out, bad call on the field. He had a pretty solid game.

YG, you make a point on the 3 pass plays where Smith was clearly beat.

But, in all fairness, two of Sanchez's misses(probably all three actually)were because of pressure the defense got in his face. He missed those because of the Great Play by our Lineman and blitzers.

Daniel Thomas had 19 rushes for 69 yards...That's an average of 3.6 YPC...Solid game? Yeah, ok...If you think so...

i agree he D is not to blame today, but can't say the Offense is at fault either. They did enough to win us the game...Let's not forget that the Jets with Rex will always put a good defensive game plan and like a good division game it will be a low scoring close affair. It alll came down to one kicker who missed and the other who made it...
Look, the Saints are 0-3, Pitt is 1-2 just like the Chiefs and the Lions. All I care is for this team to be in it every game and for Tanne and all other rookies (incl Philbin) to grow and show improvements. I think that is the case....heck we should feel good that we're not as pathetic as the browns

Actually, all the back were solid. We hit a pass happy stride there and I am not fully understanding that.

Just shut up Mrs. Salguero wanna be. You are getting in your blog hits regardless. Do you have to pretend and keep mentioning slurping to do it?

Is this like some gay ritual you and Armando use to get worked up?

Give it a rest fool you'll wear off your aids meds.

I thought Sparano's play calling was better than Sherman's today...That was a heck of a shock to me...

I don't think Thomas had a good game but 3.6 yards every play gives you a first down after 3 plays which is what you want when looking for average. He is no Bush and we clearly missed him in the second half.

But I agree completely that none of our players had a great game and that we're missing that stud playmaker (we have our own studs -- Pouncey, Long, Starks, Soliai -- just none where points are concerned

Probably should have not been taking multiple shots in the endzone on the 31 yard line. Plenty of time and time outs. One shot in there, sure. But your main priority has got to be getting a first down. 38 yard field goal sounds better to me.

I thought Sparano's play calling was better than Sherman's today

I agree, but more by default since Sherman's play calling (other than Carpenter's leg) cost us the game

Miami D20, exactly...Our best players are in the trenches...This is why Ireland is on the hot seat...And yes, we are pretty good in the trenches...But dominating? I didn't see that today...After spending so many first round picks and so much money for linemen, you would expect dominance...Not the case at all...

Play calling was okay by me in general but there were some questionable calls, no doubt. We ran one goofy little back side screen.
Where da screens at?

Daniel Thomas is a JOKE. NO instincts what so ever. The guy just runs into his own lineman. The only thing he does better then Lamar Miller is block on pass plays. Otherwise, he is completely expendable.

Another Jeff Ireland BUST.

If your best players are linemen in the 2012 NFL you're in trouble.

Anyway, that's it for me...Good night all...Arizona's next, they're undefeated and look pretty darn good...Won't be an easy one...

Montreal, I did notice our OLine pushing their DLine backwards (our RBs need to pick up blitz's better that's where Tannehill got rushed, even Jerry and Martin are playing ok) and the Jests have a very good OLine themselves other than RT so that was a push on that front. Our defense dominated the run like always but we still need pressure other than wake. I noticed a lot of times we forced Sanchez to throw early or "almost" got him but were never able to. If we had CBs that could blanket a bit better our DL would have more time to take em down.

#1 dolphin fan in Montreal are YOU AN IDIOT? Sparonic did not call better plays if you watch the game their offense did do anything they sucked!! The only thing sparonic did right was stay to his personality and did the scream and fist pump like he just won the Super Bowl like he did when ever we kicked a field goal !!!! He is an offensive line coach and when he was here our line sucked and now he is an offensive coordinater Let's see what happens!!! Carpenter lost this game single HANDEDLY !!!! If he made the first kick we wouldn't have went to overtime and if he made the second one we would have won the damn game!!!! We have a long way to go and I think our defensive secondary is weak but we should have won this game and if tannenhill did have 4 turn overs in the hosting game we could have won that one too it was 3-3 for a long time. You people are not to bright. And Armondo the fact you said that Philbin made a mistake calling time out? EVERY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE WOULD HAVE CALLED TIME OUT TO FREEZE THE KICKER IM ASHAMED AT YOU!!!!

Yeah, but after 3 weeks we have the no. 1 rushing offense and defense, were doing something right.

I like the O and D Lines. I think they're fine and only going to get better.

Now we just have to use the draft and all those picks to add in the Playmakers.

We have a good foundation and nobody has really pushed around in the trenches. The importance of this can't be overstated.

A WR, TE, Linebacker and Cornerback? One more pass rusher and/or playmaking safety? We are heading in the right direction. And we have have the battle won with our trench play on both sides of the ball.

After we address one or two needs in free agency and the rest with 10 draft picks we are going to be hard to deal with. Nobody will be wanting to come down to Miami for any games. Let alone them 1:00 oclock games.

I am a Homer, I can't help it. But this team is definitely on it's way back and that much is obvious.

Oline:
43 for 185, 4.3 avg 2 TDs. ZERO sacks, QB hits 2.

Dline:
33 for 88, 2.7 avg ZERO TDs. 1 sack, QB hits 7.

What game were you watching?

You keep saying Miller can't block. But Pro Football Focus grades him out as being a much better blocker than Thomas this year.

I do think that Sherman made some bad play calling for sure. Some of those calls we're dumb

Would have been nice to see a little more Miller today the way he ran. I think will will begin to see more.

I just want to say that carpenter lost this game single HANDEDLY !!!!

Dear Marshall,
If you are going to intentionally interfere with a guy to prevent a catch because you got burned, please ensure he doesn't catch it.

Thanks.

Tannehill just doesnt have it. He was horrible today.

Win as a team, lose as a team.
Sucks we lost but Tebow did NADA, so at least I won't have to hear about that.

Miller cant block and Thomas cant run. Thanks Irescum.

Not horrible just not too good

Tannehill made a few bad throws, no question. Played well though.

I blame it mostly on play calling at the very end. Why did they throw it three times in a row when they were barely in field goal range. I was screaming for them to run it. Even if they only got another 5 yrds it would've made a difference.

Tannehill has the worst QB rating in football. He's worse then Henne.

Thomas had a key screen catch for a 3rd and long conversion. Broke Revis ankle.

Our defensive secondary is major weak to many open guys hopefully we get some better guys back there!!! We are rebuilding for sure I think we have more rookies playing then any other team in league

BUT ONE THING. WHO DIDN'T KNOW THAT THE JETS WERE GONNA FAKE PUNT ON THAT PLAY? Come on!!!

The cut Thomas made to break his ankles was ridiculous.

PATHETIC 2nd half…every phase…absolutely PATHETIC 2nd half – THATS COACHING (severe lack thereof)!!!
Rookie Head Coach = it showed. Nice ice job on a 15 yd. FG dumbass.
Undeserving Defensive Coordinator = Burnett on a WR, Sanchez looks right at him before the play, then easy peezey. UNBELIEVABLE!
Offensive Coordinator – fired from every job he’s ever had = wonder why?
Carpenter = can’t figure out a simple correction/adjustment & go back & make the same exact mistake? Hello…McFly. Get a hairnet ya girl.
Tannehill = NOT THE ANSWER, NO WAY, NO HOW, not overexaggeration – this kid STINKS like every other 2nd rate back-up theyv’e paraded through here the past 15 yrs. Just a larger version of John Beck. His accuracy is abysmal.
Anthony Armstrong = if he isn’t cut before midnight its a testament to the worst WR corps ever assembled.

only works to “suck for draft picks” if you know what to do with the picks. Ireland will trade them for 2020 picks and continue to fill this squad with 4th string receivers. This team is seriously lacking fundamental football knowledge.
