Dolphins start 2012 season with a blowout loss

HOUSTON -- There was lots of post-play skullduggery and multiple shoving matches today betwen the Dolphins and Texans. But in the thing that mattered, namely the score, the Dolphins simply were out of their weight class.

The Texans did what everyone pretty much expected them to do: They trounced the Dolphins 30-10.

Ryan Tannehill's debut performance as Miami's quarterback was forgettable. He threw three interceptions. Not good that it happened. Not good in the way it happened -- with two of them coming on passes deflected at the line of scrimmage.

That was something we saw in the preseason and obviously has not been addressed.

The Dolphins made too many mistakes to win this or any game. Good teams lose the turnover statistic 4-0 and they typically lose. Bad teams have that happen and they get blown away.

The Dolphins got blown away.

Marcus Thigpen played well. Reggie Bush played hard and accounted for 115 total yards. Brian Hartline shined late. Davone Bess is a gamer. That was it, folks.

Tough.

What we saw today probably explains the drops.

Dude throws high most times.

I would be shocked if jeff ireland still has his job Monday morning.

Maybe Jeff should take that acorn out of his head and put that garbage on the field also.

O.K Seattle's come back fell short but Pete Carrol did a great job of keeping the game close and his game plan gave the Seahawks a chance to win.

Wilson looked poised out there and looks like he may end up bieng pretty good.

SAME OLD STORY...DIFFERENT YEAR.

NE 1-0
JETS 1-0
BUF 0-1
Miami 0-1

Mando, my friend for life.

Is this the fast start Philbin was talking about?

Yep, ur saying we couldn't use 9 receptions for 119 td's and a td????

So Marshall had a good game against the ABSOLUTE worst team in the league.

Matter of fact, they are SO bad, SO DESPERATE in the SECONDARY in particular, that they had to give up a 2nd rounder to bring in a corner that couldn't even make the starting line up for the DOLPHINS!

I know you're just trolling and saying the opposite of whatever anyone says. But give the Marshall crap a rest. You're embarrassing yourself.

The Colts were the worst team in the league and their secondary ranked around 30th in pass defense.

Yeah, so send Marshall to the Hall Of Fame on THAT.........Dork!

ROTFLMAO!

BREAKING NEWS!

SHERMAN IS BURNING THAT PLAYBOOK AGAIN.

Headed off to harrass Kevin over on thephinsider.

The only knock I have on Sherman so far is why doesn't he try to get Reggie more involve3d in the passing game.

Other than that(so far), I thought he called a pretty decent game. Head and shoulders above anything SpOrano/Henning and Daboll put together. And this was the first time run through with new coaches, new personel, new team, etc, etc.

I still have faith in Sherman. I'm a little shaken up over Tannehill to be honest. During the game a couple of times, I started getting that feeling I got on draft day when they called Tannehill's name.

Not too good..............?

There aren't two brain cells between the Ross, Ireland, Philbin three headed monster.

Sad thing is this...I don't think they game planned for Reggie Bush. Dude was getting it done. Seems like they forgot he was on the team.

I think they were more concerned about the pass. Well, the rest of the NFL just saw we have no passing game to speak of.

Raiders gonna blow us out next. Wait and see.

Coalition, you're an idiot. And u must be related to Ireland if u think we couldn't use Marshall. And let's b clear, the bears weren't playing the worst team in the league, the texans were. Calling me a troll because ur an idiot doesn't make it true jackass. I just refuse to blindly accept what those idiots Ross and Ireland feed us.

Coalition Ireland and Ross all suck

Wow!

Jack Sparrow took off for the Phinsider and this place screeched to halt! Maybe there is just one of "Them".

I always thought there were two and they split shifts.

If it's just one of you guys doing this, my hats off to you. I don't care what your nationality is, I'm betting your Pasty White from never leaving Mom's Basement.

Get Own Down with Yo Bad Trolling A ss Self!!!!

Whoop-WHOOOOOOOOP!!!!

Can't wait to see Ireland's next move. Trade Starks because he actually played well perhaps??

i think more than meets the eye went into the deflections. i think it has a lot to do with the protection scheme (and jj watt). i think martin is smart and will get this corrected...it already appeared to me that he improved substantially from the preseason to this game.

Odin, You got any "HOTTIES" coming by tonight, If so wil you be posting like last night till 4 am??
Odin, Take your geritol and go to sleep before you start acting like the old codger that you are.

ANOTHER GREAT GAME, THANKS JEFF.

Now we are seeing things and we can state facts. As for us, no matter what RT says, we never challenged on either side of the ball and we played sloppy Football. Terrible.

Jeff Ireland has to GO. My grandmother could make better personnel decisions. Ireland should be fired on HBO, i would do a little hand elevator and pretend it never got off the ground floor. then tell him this is you, youve been in an elevator for 3 years and cant get out of the ground floor. Now get on a plane to chicago, they need a ball boy asap.

I just refuse to blindly accept what those idiots Ross and Ireland feed us.

Actually douchebag, you swinging on Marshall's nads because he had one decent game against the worst team in the league.

For the mentally challenged(amsmith), who had first pick of the draft? Duh Colts.

Don't try and twist it with me dumb fvck, we all saw what you posted. I correxcted you-Period!

You Got That!

Odin Stank. There's about 8 people on here that cant stand you.
Now take that geritol or there's gonna be trouble.

This debacle is the fault of everyone EXCEPT Jeff Ireland.

There is nothing to do if passes keep on being tipped at the line or if receivers can't hold on to passes.

Well, one might conclude the O-Line was getting pushed back all day.

Who is the strength and conditioning coach? Pee Wee Herman?

PATA...123

TENN.....3

DOLPHINS.....3
HOU............123

I believe talent is pretty even across the League and any Team, if well Coached, might be competitive(see 49ers last year).

The one thing that I did like was that the players were mad about getting pushed around. Marlon Moore and another player went to the HOU sideline looking for somebody. A lot of the Fins wanted them to feel the agony of victory like when Incognito planted that LB about 2ft into the ground.

KRIS HAVE SAID,WE WILL WIN 11 GAMES........

WE R NOW...0-1.........

OSCAR...GIVE US A BREAK ,PLEASE WITH THAT DUMB TALK OF YOURS......

THE CELLAR.......

Truth hurt when it hits a little too close to home, eh? I know sweetie......I KNOW!

Now I have 4 beautiful Young Ladies to entertain!

Buh Bye Queenie!

This jewel is from yesterday, then Idiot odin continues to post till 4 am.
Odin, did you take your meds yet?, Make sure you take out those false teeth, we wont want you to choke on them while your sleeping.

That was a poorly Coached Team, ALoco. Any arguments?

MORPHIN......YOU R VERY STUBID ............WW R NOT PLAYING BOXING........WHAT THE BIG THING ABOUT OUR LOUST PLAYERS LOOKING FOR TROUBLE? WE LOST AND THAT'S THE KEY HERE..........

It is obious there is something majorly wrong with Jake Long(probably why Incognito was blown out on a couple of plays).

POORLY COACHED ,MY AZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

OSCAR...WE DO HAVE LOUSY PLAYERS,THANKS TO OUR GARAGE MANAGER...........PERIOD.....

Again, STs were the only bright note.

Aloco, What did you have for dinner 2nite?

It's like there were 4 different Miami Dolphin teams; a different one each quarter of the game!

I HAD,.......

BLACK HADDACK
AVOCADO ,TOMATO SALAD

I'm not referring to the Players, ALoco. Do you think the Team executed plays well?

OSCAR.....HOW CAN THEY EXECUTE IF THEY R LOUSY PLAYERS................

GARAGE MANAGER AND THE CELLAR.........

More so, ALoco, were those coverages well designed or called?

Can't wait for the draft, so we can finally draft a 1st round talent QB. Tannehill is a 2nd-3rd round talent that was drafted #8. He can't throw accurately over 5 yards down the field. He made horrible decisions in college and we can't spend 5 years seeing if he can make the jump to the pros. Move on and draft a true talented QB next season.

CAMPBLLES SOUP IS MADE IN CHINA WITH DIRTY FOOD AND STORED FOR 8 MO ,THEN SENT TO THE USA ,THEN STORED FOR A MONTH.THEN SOLD TO THE DONKEYS .........

I can guarantee you, ALoco, that if they trade Dansby, Burnett or Sean Smith, not to mention any of our D line, they would all become perennial all-Pros on any other Team.

Mando, my friend. Just thought you'd like to see how real sports bloggers, blog.

J.J. Watt takes over, absolutely undresses Ryan Tannehill: The most feared player in football lives in Houston?

Tannehill may be the QB who immediately qualifies for a post traumatic stress disorder disability after what Watt did to him on Sunday afternoon at Reliant Stadium. But you can be sure that Watt's work is going to reverberate around the league.

--Chris Baldwin

No matter if we had picked RG3, he would not have flourished here.

Armando,

I agree with many of the observations made here. Examples: Long is out of shape, Naanee really has to be released and one of the free agents put in his place, Bess, Hartline and Fasano are invisible because they are average receivers that can not create separation, Tannehill has had problems with blocked passes due to his low release which has been a scouting report on him since college, the offensive line really needs to do a better job and Tannehill needs to stop telegraphing his passes but the coaches knew that from preseason and made no adjustment.

No mystery for me about JJ Watts. I saw him plenty last year and in College films. Apparently he was a mystery for our Coaches.

true oscar

Miami is the NFL's equivalent of the elephants graveyard.

"absolutely undresses Ryan Tannehill:"
=============================================

Why can't you put a little bite in your blog posts Mando, my friend?

Why?????????????JackSparrow.

Tannehill threw 14 interceptions last year and has never dominated in college. Why do so many, including Dolphins believe he will be a franchise QB? It takes way more than talent. Instincts probably more important. The fact he gets a lot of passes tipped speaks volumes about his pocket awareness and instincts.

ALoco?

I'm out guys. Just want to say this.

I am a dolphins fan. I am not a fan of Ireland. This team is broken and has been broken for far too long. This is get freaking redonkulous. Year after year we have to endure the Pats and Jets leading this division.

Its going to take a lot more than plug and play to get this team turned around. Its going to take an act of God.

I mean no disrespect to Irelandand Ross but I would not be unhappy if the Grim Reaper knocked on their doors.

And don't get it all twisted and notted. I mean no harm to those two men. I just wouldn't be sad to see them go.

I'm no fan of Ross as an owner but I keep seeing this assertion from some that he is "cheap" and am wondering if anyone can provide concrete, specific examples of that.

It can't be with the coaching selections. Harbaugh had the opportunity to take over a Niners team far readier to win without even leaving uprooting his family from the Bay Area. Easy choice.

Fisher opted for a better situation in St. Louis with a good, young quarterback and big draft ammunition---not to mention he turned down MORE money from Miami according to every source I saw.

Players? Who? Manning never seriously considered the Dolphins according to all and chose Denver because he felt he had a much better chance of winning immediately there. Again, totally understandable.

So maybe someone can help here. What specific examples are there of Ross being cheap?

Thanks

Through the megaphone, - Hey, Csonka, WTH are you doing! How are you going to block a blitzing LB from there!. Move 2 feet to your right!!

I believe Tanne has the tools, physically, mentally and emotionally, he just needs more experience and help.

You cannot expect Reggie Bush to block JJ Watts, can you?
