The announcement of today's inactive tells us the Raiders receiver corps will get better ... and Miami's will get worse.
The Dolphins will be without Anthony Armstrong, who was doubtful with a hamstring injury. He is inactive. Other Miami inactives are Pat Devlin, Michael Egnew, Will Yeatman, Tony McDaniel, Ray Feinga, Daniel Thomas and Pat Devlin.
The Raiders, meanwhile, are getting some good news in that Denarius Moore, who was inactive in their opener with a hamstring injury, is active today. Moore averaged 18.9 yards per receptions last season.
As you may know, my column today is about how this game may determine the direction of either franchise for quite some time. Check it out if you haven't yet.
Another thing: I don't see this being a high-scoring game. Neither offense impresses me.
We will be having a live blog here today. It begins in the comments section at kickoff. Meet me there.

Dansby, late.

We miss mike Nolan.
Posted by: Harmel | September 16, 2012 at 01:38 PM
Dansby needs to go, give his spot to someone who wants to play. too much BS talk and no action on field.
Posted by: originalorangecrush | September 16, 2012 at 01:38 PM
That was such an obvious hold on that screen pass the refs are pure garbage
Posted by: . | September 16, 2012 at 01:39 PM
If Dansby wants to make the hall of fame, maybe he should start with taking better angles. Moron.
Posted by: dishpan | September 16, 2012 at 01:39 PM
We dont miss Mike Nolan, we miss having a collection of real talent on this defense.
Posted by: Yesterday'sGone | September 16, 2012 at 01:39 PM
Old reggie would have faked that one guy out during that second series. Looks like he just basically went down after the defender got a hand on him
Posted by: JackSparrow | September 16, 2012 at 01:39 PM
Does Tannehill have a 2nd TD drive in him?
Posted by: Relentless DJs | September 16, 2012 at 01:39 PM
Watch the TD again. The receiver was holding bigtime on it. Replacement Refs...
Posted by: mike d | September 16, 2012 at 01:40 PM
Watching this on Gamecast is soooo much fun!
Posted by: navydolfaninva | September 16, 2012 at 01:40 PM
Clemons blocked himself out of the play with a very bad angle. He sucks
Posted by: JT | September 16, 2012 at 01:40 PM
Miller is going to be legit.

Posted by: The Biocentric | September 16, 2012 at 01:40 PM
Hartline is the new Brandon Marshall. LOL!!!
Posted by: We Have RB's | September 16, 2012 at 01:41 PM
Last couple possessions Reggie Bush was falling back into the old pattern of spending too much time running "laterally".
Posted by: Yesterday'sGone | September 16, 2012 at 01:41 PM
Miller time. He's looking smooth.
Posted by: The Biocentric | September 16, 2012 at 01:41 PM
Damn what happened to bush?(miller looking good though)
Posted by: BLAZZIN ACE | September 16, 2012 at 01:42 PM
Seems to me 'that 3rd down back' is playing quite well for us.
Posted by: Craig M | September 16, 2012 at 01:42 PM
Bad play by Tannehill.
Posted by: We Have RB's | September 16, 2012 at 01:42 PM

Posted by: IMAWriter | September 16, 2012 at 01:43 PM

Posted by: JackSparrow | September 16, 2012 at 01:43 PM
They called an incomplete pass??? Thanks refs.
Posted by: We Have RB's | September 16, 2012 at 01:43 PM
Incommplete. Bottom line.

That's a fumble but I'll take an u complete pass
Posted by: MiamiD20 | September 16, 2012 at 01:44 PM
Draw play would work against Raider's pass rush

Nice play Clay- get hit and lose 4 yards! Second quarter woes continue!!
Posted by: flyrodderbob | September 16, 2012 at 01:46 PM
Oakland Defense starting to play right on the line of scrimmage daring them to go deep.
Posted by: mike d | September 16, 2012 at 01:46 PM
OK need to step up here - starting at 40yd line. Get it done
Posted by: Nino | September 16, 2012 at 01:52 PM
Did I told you long is not the same player ever since his injuries!!
Posted by: ray | September 16, 2012 at 01:53 PM
Terrible
Posted by: . | September 16, 2012 at 01:54 PM
Clay again! Terrible! Did I say 2nd quarter?
Posted by: flyrodderbob | September 16, 2012 at 01:55 PM
Jake Long is not the same player. He really hurt us on this drive. He does not deserve top dollar next year.
The Dolphins need to get back to running the football before something bad happens.
Posted by: Orlando Dolphan | September 16, 2012 at 01:57 PM
patriot games, what a ridiculous comment you made :- i don't need to watch my team cuz they got it locked up. Real fans watch their team not sit in other teams blogs!!!!
Posted by: Reg | September 16, 2012 at 01:57 PM
Offense can't play in the second quarter! What is going on?
Posted by: flyrodderbob | September 16, 2012 at 02:02 PM
Bad series for Tanne. I hope that the pressure from the defense is not getting him nervous. I am holding my breath everytime he goes back to throw the ball. That last pass he threw in Reggie's direction was scary.
Posted by: Orlando Dolphan | September 16, 2012 at 02:05 PM
How awful is this wr core. Hartline is a #1 and bess is a #2. No pressure on Palmer...can't cover the speedy Raider wr's. Looks like a slow to develop blowout in the making.
Posted by: Stra8balla | September 16, 2012 at 02:42 PM
O.K. My 75 years leave me knowing much more football than I understand. Miami secondary can't guard it's lunch, the pass rush is a figment of imagination, the fix is new talent we can persue in this upcoming draft. Here is where I need help. Please, someone, explain why I should feel good about Sherman.
We start strong but it takes one or two series for the enemy DC to figure us out and a week for Sherman to have a clue. This is Sporano all over again.
What don,t I understand?

FIRE IRELAND
Posted by: FIRE IRELAND NOW !!! | September 16, 2012 at 02:42 PM
No dynamic Te...get tackled 3 yds short of a 1st down. Fasano is just too slow. Just like our wr core. No separation...no sizzle....no yards. We will score the least pts in the NFL this season. Colts holding down Peterson and winning behind Andrew Luck.
Posted by: Stra8balla | September 16, 2012 at 02:48 PM
Just run the ball for 3 downs and punt. We would have a better chance of moving the chains. Our passing offense is flat out embarrassing. Tannehill doesn't understand the concept of going thru his progressions.
Posted by: Stra8balla | September 16, 2012 at 02:50 PM
REGGIE REGGIE REGGIE!!!!!
Posted by: Nino | September 16, 2012 at 03:13 PM
Thank God for Reggie...he is the only weapon we have. Trying feature Hartline in the passing game...LOL!
