CINCINNATI -- The Dolphins have played terrible so far.
They've committed two turnovers. They've missed tackles. They have been their own worst enemy.
And yet they only trail 6-0. Consider that a blessing because it could be much worse.
We'll see if the team can turn things around. The live blog continues in the comments section below. Join me there.

You guys suck.

We'll win this one. These big black guys always get it on at the end.

D looks gassed already. You gotta give them credit for holding CINN to 2 field goals after 2 turnovers.
Posted by: Direland | October 07, 2012 at 01:44 PM
As bad as they've played they're only down 6-0
Posted by: nyfinfan | October 07, 2012 at 01:44 PM
And the D is back on the field
Posted by: Marc | October 07, 2012 at 01:44 PM
Damn, hope it doesn't come down to me.

Where would the Dolphins be without Brandon Fields? lol
Posted by: Jon | October 07, 2012 at 01:45 PM
Armando,
Tannehill is 4 of 5 fro 49 yards and the team is playing terrible so far? Dalton 4-9 for 34 yards and the team is played terrible so far? Defence has stood tall twice now and the team is playing terrible so far?
Are we watching the same game?
Posted by: Craig M | October 07, 2012 at 01:45 PM
The Bengals brough an A-gap blitz on third down. Exactly what Arizona did last week. Miami handled better this time but still there was pressure.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | October 07, 2012 at 01:45 PM
How long before the d folds up?
Posted by: g | October 07, 2012 at 01:45 PM
Is the Fumble exist for the Dolphins opponent????
Posted by: tony in Miami | October 07, 2012 at 01:45 PM
So far this team's showing they are what thier record says they are. Flashes of good things arent enough.

guys i missed the first fumble, what happened?
Posted by: Reg | October 07, 2012 at 01:46 PM
Craig, the team IS playing terrible so far. 2 turnovers and the defense let them drive 60+ yards for a field goal in which they let them convert 20+ yards on a 4th and 2.

Well at least we might be put out oof our misery before half this time
Posted by: g | October 07, 2012 at 01:47 PM
Look at the bright side:
These 1st 5 games are indicating we will have great draft position.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone | October 07, 2012 at 01:47 PM
Craig,Tannehill is not the whole team.
They've committed two turnovers and given up two scores because of it.
They've missed tackles.
They are losing. They are playing terrible. If this continues, you may be the only one thinking things are fine because Tannehill is completing passes while the rest of the team gets its ass kicked.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | October 07, 2012 at 01:47 PM
Ball bounces off the back of Jones' leg? Is that bad play by Jones or just a bad play? Seems like it could happen to anyone. Can't explain the Lan fumble but there's no excuse for that stuff. Take those two plays away and it was a pretty good quarter for our guys on the road.

Mando,
For a small fee, I can make your postings show up in a different color. Separate you from the noise and homerisms.

Who do we take with the first pick?
Posted by: g | October 07, 2012 at 01:48 PM
Reg, again, it wasn't a fumble. Hit Jones in the back during a punt. Recovered by the Bengals. Actually a blown call by the officials
Posted by: Marc | October 07, 2012 at 01:48 PM
Armando,
Whjy cant we use a ss? LOL
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone | October 07, 2012 at 01:48 PM
That was Cincy's first third down conversion.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | October 07, 2012 at 01:49 PM
This Dolphins team is already better than last year, but they won't win much this year I think. Some raw talent and still some gaping personnel holes, so it will take another draft and free agency to make us competetive.
The voice of reason has spoken.

Armando,
The ball bounced off the back of Jones' leg. Are we ACTUALLY blaming the guy for that? Happens all the time. Completely unavoidable. Bad plays were the Lane fumble and the 4th down pass for 20 yards, otherwise the team is playing fine.

Proud of the d. They have been on the field a long time
Posted by: g | October 07, 2012 at 01:50 PM
Usual theme, by the 4th qtr the defense will be gassed and playing worse than ever.

Defence

British, CraigM?

That "bad luck" is a turnover. And it cost the Dolphins a FG.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | October 07, 2012 at 01:50 PM
I bet anyone Nolan gets burnt for a long TD
Posted by: ray | October 07, 2012 at 01:50 PM
They are NOT playing fine. The run D is not holding up. The receivers are not getting speration. The O-line is not doing well in pass blocking.
Posted by: Marc | October 07, 2012 at 01:50 PM
Refs had 2 call that one..
Posted by: Powhitetrash | October 07, 2012 at 01:51 PM
Pick 6 would be nice
Posted by: g | October 07, 2012 at 01:51 PM
and they are not tackling well

D missing tackle and playing slow
Posted by: ray | October 07, 2012 at 01:51 PM
CraigM,
the 20yd 4th down completion led to 3 Bengal pts. Teams convertig o 4th down is a reoccuring theme.

Lucky break there. Terrible pass by Dalton

BRING BACK REPLACEMENT REFS
Posted by: Walt | October 07, 2012 at 01:52 PM
Just a question for you guys. Would you rather Miami win 4-5 games and that result in Ireland losing his job? Or would you rather Miami win 8-9 games, miss the playoffs, but Ireland retains his job?
Posted by: Jon | October 07, 2012 at 01:52 PM
That was tipped, who did it?
Posted by: redsky | October 07, 2012 at 01:52 PM
Carpenter probably getting sick right about now.
If it comes down to him again, and he misses again, I would fire him. Take my chances with some dude or dudette off the street.
Posted by: JackSparrow | October 07, 2012 at 01:52 PM
Ok we need a first down so d can catch there breath
Posted by: g | October 07, 2012 at 01:52 PM
Craig M is also the voice of reason. Heed him.

Time to get some points here...Excellent field position...

Defence holds again. Hope they continue this 'terrible' play.
Posted by: Craig M | October 07, 2012 at 01:53 PM
We need to sustain a drive to let the D rest
Posted by: Marc | October 07, 2012 at 01:53 PM
YG, 2 last week against the Cardinals did us in.
Posted by: IMAWriter | October 07, 2012 at 01:53 PM
Lets see if we can capitalize on this great field position. Things are looking up
Posted by: g | October 07, 2012 at 01:53 PM
CraigM...I figured as much. You don't make mistakes in writing.
Posted by: JackSparrow | October 07, 2012 at 01:54 PM
Armando in what city can we dig our bad luck for ever? No no no don't tell me New York, because the will bring back
Posted by: tony in Miami | October 07, 2012 at 01:54 PM
Jon, lose, win top pick and fire Ireland! It's worth it to rebuild the right way! We've sacrificed for so long anyway!!!
Posted by: redsky | October 07, 2012 at 01:54 PM
Ireland is not the problem
