CINCINNATI -- This is a hard game to get a grasp on.
The Dolphins gave six points away in the first quarter. The Bengals had two turnovers in the second quarter and the Miami offense moved the ball very well on one drive to take a 7-6 lead at halftime.
Interesting that Nolan Carroll is holding up so far.
Cincy QB Andy Dalton is clearly not having a good day, with his accuracy way off. He has comleted 11 of 18 passes for 83 yards. Ryan Tannehill so far is the better QB in this game. He is 7of 10 for 101 yards.
The live blog continues in the comments section below. See you there.

"Carpenter was crapping his pants"
So was I. LOL!!!
Posted by: We Have RB's | October 07, 2012 at 03:05 PM
Daniel Thomas is disappointing
He's slow, no sense of field, not agressive
Posted by: 72perfectstill | October 07, 2012 at 03:06 PM
How did Thomas not get the First Down the Ref's foot was right on the line waiving his hands WTF!! is going ion with these refs today??
Posted by: PhinsFan4Life | October 07, 2012 at 03:06 PM
not even a challenge on that spot? Every spot we get is terrible
Posted by: tannesupporter | October 07, 2012 at 03:06 PM
BIG FG.
The right call, as it shows confidence in Carpenter, and keeps the MO on our side.
now, BRING ON THE PASS RUSH!!.
And move our CB's up.
Next drive, Dansby and Burnett have to play the short stuff.
Posted by: IMAWriter | October 07, 2012 at 03:06 PM
Sherman IMO. Not calling a good game. Hartline has one on one and Lamar would have got that first down. Thomas slow! Why not put reggie in that screen play! IMO some stupid play calling by sherman
Posted by: ray | October 07, 2012 at 03:06 PM
17 unanswered points. Good job offense and d.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone | October 07, 2012 at 03:07 PM
no d needs to step up. this is usually the point where they get soft
Posted by: bill connors | October 07, 2012 at 03:07 PM
Carroll is back.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | October 07, 2012 at 03:07 PM
Carpenter is hitting too? Great.
I posted it the last two weeks, Yanny doesn't drop deep enough on the screens. He did better on the last one.
PROGRESS Baby! I'll take it.
BTW_The O-lineman should have peeled back on the screen and it could have been a TD. Surely a 1st.
Posted by: odinseye | October 07, 2012 at 03:07 PM
"yes!!! Carpenter hist a + 40 yard field goal. We are now up by 2 scores.
We are looking better every week."
Orlando,
I'm with you but would love to see us close the deal today. Still plenty of time left.

Posted by: #1 Dolphin Fan in Montreal | October 07, 2012 at 03:09 PM
Mando, does the Herald sit u in press box or amongst the minions on away games?
Posted by: robbyhernz | October 07, 2012 at 03:10 PM
Sean Smith is becoming a shutdown corner
Posted by: B33RCA53 | October 07, 2012 at 03:10 PM
I sit in the pressbox ... among the real minions, Robby.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | October 07, 2012 at 03:10 PM
Looks alright. You know what to do now.
Posted by: oscar canosa | October 07, 2012 at 03:10 PM
A td here and we can definitely turn the "dogs loose" on Andy Dalton!
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone | October 07, 2012 at 03:11 PM
Notice how smith kept his hands OFF on Green. better technique.
They get 7 this trip, and we can finally get out of the over-time Groundhog Day syndrome.
Posted by: IMAWriter | October 07, 2012 at 03:11 PM
Smith holding AJ Green to 26 yards??? Who are these guys on defense???
Posted by: We Have RB's | October 07, 2012 at 03:11 PM
course smith is, its a contract year
Posted by: bill connors | October 07, 2012 at 03:11 PM
The defense is playing lights out for Coyle. Reshad Jones seems to fit really well into this scheme.
Posted by: nyfinfan | October 07, 2012 at 03:11 PM
Nows the time for a time eating drive and take all the wind out of the defense.
Not conservative, just SMART!
No TO's no dumb penalties! Right here, right now.
Posted by: odinseye | October 07, 2012 at 03:11 PM
Mando, thanks for that last comment! Bout Cincy getting booed, means a lot, really!! Good feeling, now let's get a road win!
Posted by: redsky | October 07, 2012 at 03:11 PM
The Bengals were averaging 28 points per game coming into this game. So far they have 6.
Sean Smith has shut down Green.
That loss agains the Jets hurts. That was a bad loss when you start talking about playoffs.
Posted by: Orlando Dolphan | October 07, 2012 at 03:12 PM
carpenter has always been able to make those kicks. he missed a few so all of a sudden he is garbage??? I don't think so!!!!
and i think miller will see game time in the 4th Q when the defence is worn down and stretched.
Posted by: Reg | October 07, 2012 at 03:12 PM
Sherman needs to call better plays what happen to Hartline. Even the commentators. Are saying he is open one on one coverage. And no getting Reggie involved more in the passing game! Sherman please put Dan Henning play book away! Conservative play calling!
Posted by: ray | October 07, 2012 at 03:12 PM
17 unaswered points will make the home crowd turn on thier team!
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone | October 07, 2012 at 03:12 PM
I WANT MORE BUSH, with my MILLER!
Posted by: redsky | October 07, 2012 at 03:12 PM
mando, any word why Lamar is not playing?
Where's ClAY?
Posted by: IMAWriter | October 07, 2012 at 03:12 PM
agree on jets, bad loss at home to worst team in nfl
Posted by: bill connors | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
it's now that we need a killer pass rush.
odrick & vervovn just arent getting it done
Posted by: DEFinFan | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
course smith is, its a contract year
Bill,
Crazy right??? Seems like everyone except Long is on pace for a career season who is in a contract year...
Posted by: We Have RB's | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
That's what I'm saying
Posted by: ray | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
Wow!!! I'm in aww by Tanny
Posted by: Chase | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
Nice play Hartline/T-hill!
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
Again Hartline getting behind everyone...Unreal...
Posted by: #1 Dolphin Fan in Montreal | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
Armando, why D. Bess s number is not calling more often in the actual offense?
Posted by: tony in Miami | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
Wow, Tanny/Hartline. brian keeps moving!
This is where Tanny gets careless.
letds hope not
Posted by: IMAWriter | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
I see growth every week from T-Hill!! Wow!! Now he's stepping up!!!
Posted by: robbyhernz | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
We've got our quarterback, folks!
Posted by: Buzzard's Luck | October 07, 2012 at 03:13 PM
A young y.bell was always injured!
Bell had 4 good years at most!
T-Hill can change plays at the line and he does. How is this Sherman's fault? That he has a rookie calling audibles? Only way the kid can learn!
Again thill is not allowed to sizzle just yet!
Win from behind the LOS! Like a real QB!
Posted by: Dashi | October 07, 2012 at 03:14 PM
This team is a pretty good one and getting better every week. With our sched, this can be a playoff team barring injuries and turnovers.
Posted by: Kappowski | October 07, 2012 at 03:14 PM
What a play by Tannehill??? He's a rookie???
Posted by: We Have RB's | October 07, 2012 at 03:14 PM
We really need to find a way to slow the game down when we have a two possession lead. We have the clock on our side right now.
