The Dolphins have yielded over 300 gross yards to the Rams. They've struggled along the offensive line and have been gernally outplayed all around.
But they lead the St. Louis Rams, 10-6.
The reason?
Ryan Tannehill is having a good day, completing 11 of 15 passes for 108 yards including a touchdown to Marlon Moore. And following the TD, the Dolphins picked up a key turnover when Marcus Thigpen recovered a fumble that led to a Dan Carpenter FG.
The Miami defense has kept the Rams out of the end zone and rookie kicker Greg Zuerlein, who had not missed a kick in 15 tries before today, has missed twice today.
The live blog continues in the comments section.

Touchdown!!!
No more tipped passes on throws like that.

One of the things lacking with Sparano regime was halftime adjustments.. This openin drive showed INCREDIBLE adjustments!!! I'm liking this coaching staff!!!

Posted by: tannesupporter | October 14, 2012 at 02:53 PM
Don't understand why we don't run more screens!! D Thomas
Posted by: robbyhernz | October 14, 2012 at 02:53 PM
And the scary part is that Tannehill is going to just keep getting better!!!
Posted by: We Have RB's | October 14, 2012 at 02:53 PM
atleast two dropped passes by WR too...
Posted by: B33RCA53 | October 14, 2012 at 02:53 PM
Multiple Td's game for the rookie that gets better every week!
Also can we give credit to m.Sherman's half time adjustments!
He screened the hell out of the rams on that drive. Would love to hear the conversation between him and T-Sizzle at the half.
Probably told him to stop making so many adjustments at the line! If u don't see nothing check down! Let me school fisher's d the second half!
Posted by: Dashi | October 14, 2012 at 02:53 PM
Just keep the foot on their throats! Don't go soft. Lots of football left
Posted by: Marc | October 14, 2012 at 02:54 PM
great drive, and very important we overcame the penalty and scored a TD, gives the offense confidence and our D some much needed rest and will hopefully get an early stop.
great designed play by the coach and well executed.
Posted by: Reg | October 14, 2012 at 02:54 PM
Sherman stepped up and figured out he needed to slow down the blitz. Screen passes worked great. Shuttle pass is just like a draw. Rolled THILL out twice and it worked. He needs to keep Fisher and their front line on their toes.
THILL Looks really strong! What a rookie QB!! Total command of this offense.
Go Miami!!!
Posted by: jpao | October 14, 2012 at 02:54 PM
Wow, Red Zone efficiency!
When Tanny gets a few playmakers, the comparisons tomTroy Aikman will come.
HOPEFULLY.
Posted by: IMAWriter | October 14, 2012 at 02:54 PM
The screens are the 2nd half adjustments guys. Imagine that, we now make 2nd half adjustments in Miami!

My life is kinda awesome right now. I have snacks and a quarterback...Go Miami Go!!!

Mando, write an article on how we finally have a coaching staff that makes halftime adjustments.
Posted by: robbyhernz | October 14, 2012 at 02:57 PM
That entire drive was the finest play-calling I've seen by a Dolphins OC in a long time.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | October 14, 2012 at 02:57 PM
Armando,
What's the FINS record for rookie TDs in one game?
Posted by: Swamy | October 14, 2012 at 02:57 PM
still can't run the ball at all though that needs to be fixed if we want to sit on the lead, that said i wouldn't mind if Sherman rolls the dice and just keeps throwing. It's not as if they've been able to stop Tannehill. But the run is not so good. D Thomas would be helping soften this defense.
Posted by: B33RCA53 | October 14, 2012 at 02:57 PM
THIS COACHING STAFF IS SMART. THEY DONT SHOW THE ENTIRE HAND IN 1 HALF. SAVES SOMETHING FOR ADJUSTMENTS. LOL
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone | October 14, 2012 at 02:58 PM
ARMANDO....
don't forget to CITE me when we put this game away...THIS QUARTER..
Posted by: Kris | October 14, 2012 at 02:58 PM
Time to let the d loose!
Posted by: Dashi | October 14, 2012 at 02:58 PM
Armando: you should hold a contest to come up with a name for this stout defensive line.

Posted by: Chase | October 14, 2012 at 03:01 PM
Coyle getting out coached. No doubt. But that's growing pains by the rookie coach!

Just joshing.
Seriously, a GREAT series of plays.

Nice tackle...but why so far off...that was a soft pick pass....
Posted by: Kris | October 14, 2012 at 03:01 PM
O.K it is time to start giving Steven Ross credit. He ignored the fans and media and stick with Ireland. Many of us were asking for Ireland to be fired but his decisions have been solid.
Ireland has built a stout defense that with a little tweaking could be great. He is responsible for drating Tannehill, bringing in Bush, Wake, Dansbi, and keeping Soliai and finally many of his picks have developed. Great lower picks like Carrol, Reshad Jones, Jimmy Wilson, Brian Hartline, Davon Bess, and Vernon. The #1 picks have also been great Long, Tannehill, Pouncey, and Odrick. I like the direction the Dolphins are going.
