Dolphins whip Jets 30-9 and make a statement

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- What a woodshed whipping this was.

The Dolphins, overtime losers to the Jets in the first meeting at Sun Life, flipped the script today by basically dominating the home team 30-9 and capturing second place in the AFC East.

So what does this mean beyond the standings?

It gives you a tangible measure of how much Miami is improving. Understand that on Sept. 23, the Jets could argue they were better than Miami. They went to Miami and, like it or not, came away with a win.

Now, a month later, the Dolphins have grown to the point that New York was blown out by halftime in their own house. And Miami did it with their backup QB, Matt Moore, who played three quarters for the injured Ryan Tannehill.

[Update: Tannehill said after the game he has a hyper-extended left knee and a deep left thigh bruise. He is scheduled for an MRI Monday.]

That says a lot, folks.

Tons.

I miss the old and very dirty Blog. Bunch of cuties here now.

Kris,

He gets a little respect. But the injury proneness and him not turning his head around in coverage. Give me some lee way.

Plus, Dashi has gotten use to the abbreviation of Marshall. I don't mean it to offend! U can say I call him that out of love!

Agreed with mark. The coaches probably told Ireland we can do with 4 Cb's! Doyle must've felt anyone on this roster can be coached up to where VD was playing! And he proved it!

Out of all the coaches my biggest doubt were on Coyle and his play calling. The guy has never been a DC! And the Defense in PreSeason was looking horrendous!

He got them to play Cover 2! And these safety's are 10x better than under Nolan!

The Man Deserves to have a couple of those top picks go to the Defense! Specifically the $16+ million dollar duo!

And I'm not talking Soliai and Starks! Cause at least the money will be worth it!

I'm talking about the overpaid LB's! That only do a Mediocre job! And are already past their prime!

Here are the records of the teams the Dolphins have defeated Oakland 3-4 Cincinnati 3-4 St Louis 3-5 New York Jets 3-5 total 12-18 they have compiled a winning record against losing teams. For the last part of the schedule they will have to defeat teams with winning records to themselves finnish with a winning record.

Sandy, Sandy. I had a girlfriend named Sandy(Sandra in Cuban). She had a most beautiful A-s and liked to be plugged in It.

I still believe they are more than a couple of players from being a super bowl contender. On the bright side with the trades they made before the season started they are set-up with a lot of draft choices in the next draft.

Craig, yes he did. But that guard, Chance Warmack is a special player. He will be the next Steve Hutchinson by all accounts. If that's the case, I would be on board with that pick but I wouldn't think there would be a need to add any player to the offensive line. We have a good unit.

What if Bob Griese's real name had been GLENDA NORCROSS?

I'll bet you never thought about that, DID YOU??

Idiots.

I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. I will vote for Both.

I have to be honest guy, I don't get that people think the game against the Colts is a sure thing. Pretty plucky team if you ask me. They're much better than they were last year. This won't be like playing the Jets this weekend. I have to give this game more thought but right now I'm leaning towards the Colts. Those of you that are looking at this as a sure thing are taking the Colts lighter than you should. Certainly no slam dunk game.

armando stuck.
lol.

Oscar Canosa--

I hope you are keeping your private area trimmed and neat like we talked about. It was really getting bad.

See, that Jewish dentist knows what he's talking about.

Craig M....

2 points....

Colts + Philbin = SLAM DUNK....

Mark, agreed Clemons is not that Important!

Plus I want to see what Coyle does with his own players(Guys drafted for him).

Another Ball Hawk Safety to pair with R.Jones!

I would still try and resign clemons but for the right price! It's still to early to decide on him! Would like to see how they develop! Maybe he develops into a top 10 safety?

...."and you can TAK THAT....to the bank....

- Hard to kill

TAKE

Well, I have a Lady that comes most everyday here and helps me out.

Dashi....

Term of endearment....got it.....

I don't know man, we are winning most 1 on 1s at the line of scrimmage on D. If possible, don't touch a thing.

Oscar, you manscape ona daily basis?? How fast does your hair grow???

Dashi, I'm not crazy about Clemons but he's doing fine for now. However, this defense gives up way too much passing yardage and gets very good pressur eon QBs, so that suggests talent is missing in the secondary and the only two guys I really like are Jones and Smith. The other guys are still playing for jobs.

Agreed with Craig.

Notice Dashi still hasn't gone out on a limb! With my weekly home prediction.

To many variables!

I have 2 predictions right now.

27-17. With T-Hill.

17-13. With Moore starting.

Mark that's the problem. Not only the secondary cover!

LB's are suppose to cover! We don't have 1 LB that can play sideline to sideline!

Look at the bears! Briggs and Urlacher are great in coverage!

Reshad has been felt, Clemons less. Sill, we would like something along the lines of a Polamalu.

Mark,

Clemmons played well on the weekend but unless he plays like that every week he needs to be replaced. It's a weakness on the team and I think we'd both LOVE to see a guy like Earl Thomas on this team. Curious what the Chiefs end up doing with Eric Berry. He's a guy I'd be interested in.

I also read yesterday that Jared Cook would like to be traded. If there's a way we could get the Titans to take Egnew and a lower pick I'd be all over that.

For that matter, I'll bet you drooling Neanderthals never wondered what if Johnny Unitas' real name was HARRIET WILSON or what it would be like if the Pro Football Hall of Fame was actually called the Marine Walrus Cavalcade of Vomit!

Simpletons.

Agreed with Oscar and Craig, A guy that is a first/second round talent would be nice as a safety. Berry/Thomas/Polamalu type would be great but I'd settle for Brock marion - guy was good for 4-6 picks every year it seemed. TJ McDonald - USC - that's my boy.

JETS FANS = STINKY SKUNK

Dashi,

Please give it a rest on the 'our linebackers suck' talk. Not sure if you really feel that way or you just like pushing people's buttons. Burnett and Dansby are both playing really well and we're getting the best linebacker play since Thomas was here.

From everything I've seen, heard and read...Matt Moore gives us the best chance to win. Leave Tanny on the bench for now.

Craig M.

Please give it a rest that EVERY PLARYER is playing "really well". We ARE NOT 7-0.

Nat,

Thanks for coming out. Is the Jets blog down because of Hurricane Sandy? I realize you are probably new to the Dolphins but in case you haven't been watching, this team could VERY easily be 6-1. That to me tells me the team has been playing VERY well! Capache?

@Craig M,

Would've, could've , should've?? LMAO!

The Colts like the Dolphins have compiled a winning record thus far but I dont know who they beat and how those teams were coming into their games with the Colts.I do know that the Patriots and 49ers will have winning records when Miami plays them and I think Seatle is very good at 4-4 right now.I think the ONLY slam dunk win for the Dolphins is Jacksonville going by the record they have thus far.

B33 I dont like safeties from the SEC because its basically a run conference. Only a few have panned out from the SEC.

It is amazing how some People see a Player make a couple of Plays in pre-Season and immediately become high on him. If you are going to become precipitate in your evaluation of a Player, said Player must have baggage. Let's say a Fuller- Tannehill connection? You here are just too young.

It is curious how youngsters place their elders in Adult Living Facilities in the Real World. However, in Virtual Space, we your elders can spank your A-s at any Time and anyway we want to.(of course). Beware, we have laptops and tablets too.(even I-Phones).
