Miami Dolphins needing cornerback help

The Dolphins early today promoted D'Andre Presley from their practice squad to the active roster and the move is a harbinger of how desperate the club is at the cornerback spot now.

The desperation comes in that Richard Marshall continues to battle a back issue and was again nowhere in sight during practice today. To make matters worse, Nolan Carroll, who missed time last week with an Achilles' injury, sat out again today.

The issue forced RJ Stanford into duty as a starting cornerback in practice today while Marshall and Carroll sat out.

Kevin Burnett also limped off the practice field early in practice today. It didn't seem serious. But he had not returned by the time the portion of practice open to the media had ended. I'll update you later as I learn more.

Reggie Bush, by the way, spent some time on the bike today to keep his left knee loose. It is unclear if he'll be limited in practice.

Injuries setting in. Bush is 3.5 from now on. Thomas is 3.3.

We have zero NFL caliber DBs on the team now.

2-14 returns.

That's bad news. I was worried about this since we were so thin back there already. RJ Stanford? Mando, any idea if this guy has any ability whatsoever?

they should sign Jerome Murphy CB

really?.
duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.
lol

u can't make chicken soup out of liverworst...

What are you talking about Reality, Bush was 17 for 67 yards again AZ, that's 3.9 per carry. For the season he's at 67 for 369, that 5.5 per carry. Thomas had 4 carries again AZ who cares what his yards per carry are, and Miller is at 5.5 per carry for the season. Please tell where you got your stats, oh yeah as usual you make them up as you go. Don't post lies

Can he really be worse....

I doubt it...try him out...I'm all about GAMERS....put them in a GAME situation and see what they can do...

How do they react...

What are their insticts...

Is the MOMENT to big for them...

Mr. Presely....you're up...

stanford = aib-( . )Y( . )

Don't worry, Ireland will trade Sean Smith for a bag of magic beans.

Apparently he was a QB/WR/CB

DeAndre Rashard Presley (born January 10, 1990) is an American football cornerback with the San Diego Chargers he played college football at Appalachian State. In 2010, he replaced Armanti Edwards at quarterback for the Mountaineers and led the team to a 10-3 record before losing to the Villanova Wildcats in the quarterfinals of the 2010 FCS playoffs. On December 1, he was named as one of three finalists for the 2010 Walter Payton Award.[1]

In the first game of the 2011 season, Appalachian State squared up against the Virginia Tech Hokies and were blownout 66-13. Afterwards, Presley told USA Today, "Not taking anything away from them, but I wouldn't classify them as an elite team." Presley threw 7 for 18 (a 39% completion rate) for 89 yards with two interceptions and one fumble in the game. And on April 29, 2012 he was signed by the San Diego Chargers as a undrafted free agent.

Must be a pretty talented guy.

I wonder if he can play CB.

Sounds a bit iffy to me.

Oh and 2 watt I really don't trust your judge of talent lets see who did you want cut Koa Misi, Hartline, John Jerry, Martin is a bust, cut Dansby, Pouncy is a bust, Tanny is a bust. Who else is a bust in your opinion will be the next break though player.

I found a 40 time for Presley of 4.53.

aib.

1-3.

none of them r game changers.
none. zip. zero...

SI's 2012 Draft Tracker:

Pessly

Biography: Three-year starter who lined up at quarterback, running back and defensive back for Appalachian State. Senior totals included 59.7%/812 yards/4 TDs /4 interceptions throwing the ball, 57 attempts/209 yards/4 TDs carrying the ball and 17 tackles on defense. Passed for 2631 yards as a junior, adding 1039 yards on the ground.

Positives: Athletic college player who?s a developmental prospect at a variety of NFL positions. Patient signal caller, remains poised under the rush and scans the field. Throws with an over-the-top delivery, displaying a strong arm and the ability to immediately get the ball to the intended target. Fast receiver who gets downfield and nicely adjusts to the errant throw. Extends his hands, offers the quarterback a target and makes the reception in stride. Shows a burst in his game. Gives effort on defense, quickly coming up the field to defend the run.

Negatives: Does not sense pressure as a quarterback. Must improve his overall accuracy throwing the ball. Undeveloped at both receiver and defensive back.

Analysis: Presley is a terrific athlete yet a work in process. He possesses the body type to be used at cornerback or receiver and should also lend a hand as return specialist.

Projection: FA

Wait for it..........

2-14

250 yards isn't game changing, 80 yard td pass not game changing, 10 per game not game changing along with 1 1/2 sacks not game changing, 419 yards not game changing, consistent blocking at point of attact not game changing, over the top stop of a td, and being named the number one lb by pro football focus not game changing. What planet are you from 2 watt. Is that like a 2 watt bulb duhhhhhh.

Hey Reality,

Come get yo beatch a ss smacked down by a Nerd!

Yeah, Uh Huh!

what's his size odin?

This is why you don't trade Vontae. The NFL is a passing league. You can never have too many pass rushers or good DBs. Wait until they play the Cheatriots and see how many wide open guys there are in the secondary.

again. 1 and f'ing 3 u dense f'ing homer.
lmao.

yeap. those lb's sure showed up in 2 str8 ot loses.
lmao

homer
homer
homer
lmao

lmao

Looks to me like 2 watt has the mind of a ten year old..

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz @ u.

Mike Davies is rated the 2nd worst cb in the NFL this season by Pro Football Focus. He's let 85% of passes thrown his way be completed with a passer rating of 115. Besides he is not injured and not playing. He is the same Vonte that you see chasing a receiver after the catch. This is someone we should not have traded for a 2 lol

yup..a ten year old.

Have you seen how Vontae has looked lately? He is reminiscent of Benny Sapp and Nolan Carroll in MNF patriots game last year

Armando still whinning about Sherman keeping his foot on the petal?

Wasn't he and his troll bridgade the same guys defending Dan Henning week after week a couple years back?

No thanks man, we're no longer trying to just beat the Jets or the Bills. Were trying to beat everybody week in and week out.

WCO's don't get all conservative with a TENUOUS 7 point leads in the 4th quarter. Tannehill is a rookie. What you witnessed and are second guessing Sherman about, is Tannehill taking a BIG Rookie Lump. The Kid seems to learn from his mistakes(The fumble-not the missed blocking assignment)so I'll bet we don't see again anytime soon.

But how are you going to fault Sherman for the execution issues?

We just ran the ball 3 times in a row. Everybody in the STADIUM, as you yourself admit too was expecting the run. It was a ballsy call, but it was the right call. Lane makes that block, Tannehill makes the completion......GAME OVER!

No more Fist pumps and spilt Prune Juice around here!

DC,

Pessley 5-11 - 180.

RJ Stanford 5-10 - 180.

2 watt = jet dic

homers.
it iz what it iz.

FZB = VILLAGE IDIOT

homers.
u can't hide from 1-3.

1-3 is GREAT!!

Thanks Odin. Not bad, not too small. But I still don't know. Kris said how much worse can they be. I think a LOT worse. Nolan Carroll in his first year bad.

I ll take my 1-3 team over your butt squirt green team

From Dave Hyde (over at the paper for the more educated):

"Mike Sherman’s offense is a thing of beauty that, as the playmaking talent increases, will become more apparent."

Wait until they play the Cheatriots and see how many wide open guys there are in the secondary.

Wait till this, wait till that!

Wait till the Mayan calender runs out!

Wait till your Father gets home!

I got it! Lets wait till Vontae gets his head out of his a ss and actually attaches some importance to his career!

No Fvcking Thank You!

This blog is garbage.

I was hoping to have some engaging lunch discussions but just sifted through 3 pages of black guys v white guys v jews, Canadians (who had professional football before the Americans) v Americans, swag v no swag.

There's only about 4 guys in here even remotely concerned with discussing football and the rest are just spending time here waiting for their social assistance cheques to come in.

Personal productivity will be way up this afternoon.

1-3 dude. PERIOS END OF STORY. Sheesh you're dense!

No links or ANYTHING dumb thing you say will EVER validate your pathetic conclusion that wins mean less than making an aggressive play call.

Once a homer, always a homer!

Wins matter in the NFL, not the tingle you get up your leg over aggressive play calling.

Miami has lost 2 games in a row because the coaching staff has opted to be aggrsssive instead of playing the percentages & making the calls necessary to win games.

Homers here like aggressive play calling depsite the fact that it has cost us 2 consecutive victories.

Speaking of Dumb?

LOL-You freaking Tard. We were in position to win BOTH of those games MULTIPLE TIMES! Sherman called the game well enough to winn EACH one MULTIPLE times.

But I don't expect a Tardo to understand REALITY(snicker, snicker).
