The Dolphins early today promoted D'Andre Presley from their practice squad to the active roster and the move is a harbinger of how desperate the club is at the cornerback spot now.
The desperation comes in that Richard Marshall continues to battle a back issue and was again nowhere in sight during practice today. To make matters worse, Nolan Carroll, who missed time last week with an Achilles' injury, sat out again today.
The issue forced RJ Stanford into duty as a starting cornerback in practice today while Marshall and Carroll sat out.
Kevin Burnett also limped off the practice field early in practice today. It didn't seem serious. But he had not returned by the time the portion of practice open to the media had ended. I'll update you later as I learn more.
Reggie Bush, by the way, spent some time on the bike today to keep his left knee loose. It is unclear if he'll be limited in practice.

Deep down inside, he's a bigger fan than all of us. As always though, he's too much of Poosy to admit it.
He cringes when we lose and goes into a manic depression more than of us. Then his big bad self comes here and takes it out on the blog.

Same as Sherman, I don't know where to fit Charles Clay. Is he a RB or receiver? Is he a FB, HB, TE or splitE? Who knows? My take, leave him in one place, TE.

NFL football is a chess match between the coaches. The players are fungible. Our coaches are 1-3.
Posted by: YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR | October 03, 2012 at 02:24 PM
It is true. Those 2 were devastating losses for any Team, much more for a very young Team. No way anybody expects they are going to beat Cinci after that and if we want to challenge them, the Coaches better come up with a super-Gameplan and it executed to a T.

Armando,
This is why I know Ireland needs to be fired. An NFL GM with any experience knows not to unload a CB for future considerations when the team does not have enough experienced players or a replacement for the position. The genius wanna be GM's on this site can defend Ireland all they want. Ireland will continue to hurt the Dolphins with his dumb moves.

It certainly doesn't look good on Ireland now that he got rid of Vontae Davis. At the same time, it could have been Philbin that didn't want to work with Vontae and asked Ireland to trade him. Who knows? In any case, we appear to be more fuc-ed up now in the D backfield.

ProMichael,
I absolutely agree that IF we have another losing season then Ireland deserves to be fired. In fact he should have been fired at the end of last year. However I don't believe it has anything to do with trading away Vontae. This is actually one of the better moves he has made. We get a 2nd round pick & conditional pick for a player who has been wildly inconsistent, got beat out by Richard Marshall who is not exactly an All-Pro, who was not well liked by his coaches & who is a moron. I guarantee the Colts feel like they were hosed...

You guys are so far out in left field on Davis it comical.
While he WAS here we went 7-9, 7-9 and 6-10. He consistently made Sanchez look like Brady. Speaking of which, Brady torched his constantly.
To top it off, he was never ready to play until about week 6, 7 or 8.
But yeah, Ireland is a jerk for not kowtowing to the immature little imbecile.
The FUNNIEST part, Ireland's trying to fire his a ss and Davis interupts and want to call Mammy Wheatcakes-ROTFLMAO! Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh!

"Dashi gives Tanny 1-2 more starts.
If he cant win make the switch to Matt Moore."
Dashi,
Seriously??? That makes ZERO sense. Not only is Tannehill the future of this franchise but you seem to forget that Tannehill beat Matt Moore out for the starting job. Tannehill played better Sunday than Moore has ever played in his entire NFL career.
Should the Colts have benched Peyton Manning in his rookie season??? He went 3-13 & set an NFL record that still stands for the most amount of INT's thrown by a rookie QB.
This season is about developing Tannehill. We want him to make mistakes & learn from them so he can become a better QB. In the big picture--wins & losses are irrelevant this season.

Barkley is not going to be a good pro. Looks like the next system QB that USC churns out like Sanchez & Leinart. Hopefully the Jets draft him & bury their franchise for the next five years to go with with Sanchez & Tebow.

DC,
I know there are 'fans' who still complain that we should have drafted Matt Ryan. I was never one of them b/c I believe he would not have been developed the way he has & would have failed with Sparano & Henning.
However the more I watch Tannehill play it's ironic that the QB he most reminds me of is actually Matt Ryan. Very similar mechanics & arm strength. I believe that with Philbin/Sherman we have the right coaches to develop him so it's the right player drafted at the right time.
