Naanee remains on the Dolphins at this hour

Throughout the day many of my twitter followers were asking me when the Dolphins would get rid of Legedu Naanee. They were also asking the same about Dan Carpenter.

Carpenter missed a kick against Arizona Sunday, his third in two weeks, while Naanee had a memorable fumble that was scooped up by Patrick Peterson and returned to the Dolphins one yard line. The mistake was erased when Arizona quarterback Kevin Kolb threw an interception in the end zone two plays later.

Nonetheless, this evening the questions about Naanee's future took on a different approach. My followers were claiming a report said Naanee had been cut.

Well, that was a fake twitter report from a bogus account. And as of this evening, Naanee remains on the team.

"The Miami Dolphins front office has not had any discussions with me nor any of my six clients on the team today about any roster moves," agent David Canter texted me.

So move along.

Nothing to see here as of this moment.

Last year it was Ocho. 'Pats just keep getting better'. Yeah Ok....how did that one work out?

Randy Moss. Haven't really see him do much the last few games.

Who else you got?

Craig M.,

It's a forgone conclusion and reported with many media outlets that players do not trust Ireland in the NFL. Many players have been quoted. Ramifications from; Was your Mom a prosititute? etc....If you trust Ireland that's ok because your not making any decisions anytime soon for the Miami Dolphins. Even the owner Ross has indicated that his trust in Ireland is not blind. Name one good free agent that was not out of a job that seriously considered the Miami Dolphins. A guy just looking for more money or security? The most recent free agent period is not a good judge because of the cap issues. Nothing happened due to that situation. The Dolphins got what they paid for, not much.

Craig you idiot. Earl Thomas, Hakeem Nicks, Matt Ryan, Clay Matthews, Ryan Clark, Antrelle Rolle.

This blog sucks.

I'm out.

Obviously,

Craig M = Homer

Toronto guy appears to be also.

Alot of homers in Canada apparently!

7-9.7-9.6-10.1-3.
next.

Craig,

I didn't want ANY of the WR's you listed. They're all head cases & locker room killers.

WHRBs,

I made ZERO sense to keep Marshall on this team. He had to go. So with that being said, and the limited amount of money the Dolphins had to work with, who is it you wanted them to bring in at WR?

I don't see how you fire him, when this season wasn't the season we were supposed to be winning in the first place. If he ends up with a couple of good WRs in the draft and /or FA are you still looking to fire him? Is the goal to get to .500 or to build a perennial winner like GB? I know which one I want.

Troll R Us,

I'm talking about WR, you moron. Half the guys you listed play other postions. Try and follow along will ya.

I know EVERYONE is super excited about the "comming out party" of Tanne....I read as much on this blog yesterday....

Miami D

Craig M

DC

YG

Odin

and the list goes on and on...one poster after another comming on here to say that Tanne is now the 2nd comming....

ME?....I coudn't figure out what to think....that's why a had to take a FULL 24hrs to digest what I saw against AZ....

and in the end....I realized that we just need to THROW THAT GAME OUT...treat that magical offensive explosion (yardage wise)...like we might treat the 6 min against HOUSTON....call it an anomoly....

Does anybody really thinkn Tanne is going to pass for 400 yards on the regular....

Hartline will routinely have 200 plus yards recieving....

We will have 2 recievers going for over 100 yards in a game....

I don't....not even the PATS or the Packers have that kind of offesnive day very often...maybe 3 or 4 games a season....

So ME?....I'm going to throw out this perfomance...throw it out...and hope there is more were that came from....

Hope that Tanne continues to build and learn...and hope that this isn't just Hartline putting in EXTRA EFFORT because this is a contract year (which I highly suspect...and even said so before the start of the season).....

If Tanne can come out this week against a VERY Physical Bengals defense and put up 275 yards and keep the picks down to 1 (no pick 6)....then he will have shown another step in the improvement we all hope for....

but THIS GAME aganst AZ.....i'm wiping it from the memory banks....until I see more....

Craig, who cares specially about WR you tool, though are the few players we had a shot at but your daddy (Ireland) said no to them.

Posted by: Mark in Toronto | October 02, 2012 at 12:31 PM

Great point, people want to play for Miami, other FAs wanted to come here but we turned em down and didn't sign them which turned out to be a mistake but it had more to do with our horrible cap space than our desire to sign em.

As for Burress, he has no speed or separation. All he has is height which is good in the redzone otherwise he's a waste.

There is a reason Gaffney isn't signed to a team, Burress, etc. If there is an FA out there up to this point there is a reason no other team has signed him. If they're so good a team woulda grabbed him by now

We have horrible depth at WR though I'd say drafting a TE next year would be a luxury and that we're OK at that position. I would bother signing anyone to replace Naanee that's a veteran, I'd rather someone with upside that can surprise the league, these has-been vets are declining or have platued

promichael,

You're ALL over the map, buddy. Slow down will ya.

So let me get this straight, the players are telling the media that they don't want to play for Ireland and the media's reporting it to you? Can you send me a couple of links, quoting the players involved? That would be great. Thanks. Again, I'm not looking for guys named Ryan Clark, Joey Porter, Channing Crowder or Dez Bryant. I'm looking for guys who don't have an axe to grind.

Be very careful letting the media make your decisions for you. You might end up with a guy like Bush running your country againg for two terms.

Trolls r us, good point. You forgot Gronk, Hernandez, Graham, etc.

Funny how people love to ride Ireland's jock for drafting safe average players, even with his 1st round picks, when they could have had stars.

How anyone can defend this team & it's GM for having 3 str8 losing seasons & a 4th on the horizon.

YEA, LET's KEEP THAT GOING!

Players & coaches come & go every year. The one common demoninator on all these losing teams is it's GENERAL MANAGER!

Homers can't be helped!

I made ZERO sense to keep Marshall on this team. He had to go. So with that being said, and the limited amount of money the Dolphins had to work with, who is it you wanted them to bring in at WR?

Craig,

It's Ireland's job to find players. The Raiders (yes the Raiders) found guys better than Naanee & Armstrong. Rod Streeter wasn't even drafted & they signed Hagan after he was cut from the Bills. Either player would have been a viable 3rd option & better than what we have behind Bess & Hartline.

promichael,

And because you asked for a list of players try:

Marshall

Dansby

Moore

Soliai

Wake

Steinbach

Burnett

D Thomas = Bust

RB's, Craig will dismiss everything you throw at him because he's on Ireland's payroll.

That's the ONLY logical explanation. Nobody has any business being that far up somebody's as* like he is up Ireland's.

It's juts not sanitary!

We have horrible depth at WR though I'd say drafting a TE next year would be a luxury and that we're OK at that position. I would bother signing anyone to replace Naanee that's a veteran, I'd rather someone with upside that can surprise the league, these has-been vets are declining or have platued

MD20,

Drafting A TE would be a luxury??? Behind Fasano we don't have a TE that can make a play & Fasano is limited at best.

MOK FINFANS

READY FOR THE POLL OF THE DAY?

WHO IS THE BIGGEST MORON ON THE BLOG?

1) Craig M

2) Dashi(Odin)

3) Mark in Toronto

Pollster, please add option:

D. All of the Above

Homer, Aw of coarse, I totally forget about thoughs guys you posted. But Craig is happy with Odrick and Clay (Scrubs) draft picks of the world. I think the Canada winters have frozen some of Craig M brain cells. Cant say I blame him.

Kris,

To answer your question, yes, I think Tannehill can have a 400 yd passing game again.

The reason is, a game plan will be altered during a game depending on what defenses are doing. It was obvious the Cards wanted to shut down the run game. Our Coaches realized it, and then took advantage of their aggressive defense. I fully expect other teams to try that approach, because they've seen what Reggie and Co. can do to them on the ground.

Also, the more Tannehill grows and the Coaches gain confidence in him, the more they'll employ their TRUE desire of a wide open, pass first offense. The days of the Miami Dolphins being a run-first team are quickly coming to an end, thankfully. You can look forward to Tannehill airing it out many a Sunday, just a matter of time.

D) All of the above

Tool/BlindHomer = Craig M

WHRBs,

Rod Streeter? THAT's your comeback? Do you mean the guy who's got EIGHT catches for 68 yards on the season? That's who you wanted? Come on!

Season's only 4 games old. How about we wait until we see how things play out before pushing Ireland out the window.

Craig M says,

Be very careful letting the media make your decisions for you. You might end up with a guy like Bush running your country againg for two terms.
======================================================
Craig M,

Just stop it. I teach tennis to several professional athletes, their families, wives and girl friends. They talk. What do you not understand about that.

Hey Kris (I don't mean this in a condescending way, I want to genuinely know) what are your thoughts on Tannehill vs Wilson after that Arizona game?

Also in response to your post: no one is assuming this is going to be routine for Tannehill or Hartline, but if they can put those numbers up against "allegedly" a good defense in Arizona, what will they do against lesser defenses such as Cincinnati and St Louis who we play the next two weeks, personally, I'm excited to see where he can go from here. It showed promise and improvement and as you're well aware that's what I'm looking for this year in RT

A very small sample of Irelands failures:

Merling
Wilfrod
Wilson
Henne
White
Smiley
Grove
Turner
Gates
Misi
Thomas
Torbor
Ayodele
Davis
Sapp
Armstrong
Naanee
Ocho
T. Johnson
Guyton
Steinbech
Garrard
Carroll
Marshall

Wr Wise we all can agree.

The only way this problem will be addressed is from the Inside this Season. PS, or Activate Matthews and Moore.

Ireland did do a bad job with the WR's. But Remember The fins could only shop from the bottom of the Pile this Season. Gates was a Reach because the Year before TEAM SPEED WAS CRITICIZED. AND IRELAND GOT THE FASTEST PLAYER AT THE COMBINE. Everyone liked the Gates pick at the Time. Not alot of guys can run 4.2 on a bad foot.

Gates wasn't a football player and that falls a little on the Coach. Why was he picked up by the Jets right Away? Why is the Jet Offense so Anemic? The guy running that offense can't judge talent!!

Dashi Believes Irelands Influence In Player Personnel is less than before With Philbin and Sherman in the Draft Room. Philbin has his GM! His Name is Mike Sherman. Jeff scouts but the final decision is not made by him. They come to a Understanding. What is best for the Team.

Judging by the way this team has looked since losing to the Texans I give a LOT of credit to Philbin & his coaching staff. This team looked freaking lifeless at home the last two seasons. So considering we're starting a rookie who the 'experts' thought needed a season on the bench we're light years ahead from where we were this time last year. That's a fact BUT could Ireland have done more to help Tannehill @ WR & TE??? Absolutely & I believe it will sink him.

promichael,

Oh Ok, then. Sounds like we don't need the NFL network if we got you for all the latest then.

Listen bud, you're very entitled to your OPINION. Believe what you want to believe from wherever you're getting it, just don't hold it out there like it's FACT, cause it's not. It's become VERY obvious to most of us that the media has a special bias against the Miami Dolphins. I couldn't care less because at the end of the day they are just a bunch of talking heads.

Were going on 4 soon to be 5 losing seasons since the fluke 11 and 5 season where we had the easiest schedule in the NFL and some of you blind homers are prasing Ireland. BWHAHHAAHAA. Have we lowered our standard this much?

Until we have a top 5 QB nothing else matters. All this talk about Ireland, Ross, WR's, etc. does not mean a thing.

If we had Tom Brady on this team we would be playoff contenders every year and Ireland would be hailed as a genius. Without Brady, Scott Pioli looks alwful in Kansas City. The difference is that NE Got lucky with in the sixth round by picking Brady.

I hope Ross does what is right for this franchise and not what is popular.

Funny how when you bring up all the WR failures, the guys that people wanted Ireland to draft and cried because he didn't.....when those guys have proven to me mistakes, guys can't own up to the BS they were spewing. Best they can do is through personal attacks. Go ahead fellas....we're laughing at you.

The problem with you trolls is you don't understand how the business side of football works. Ross is a businessman, not a football guy. He's not going to remember who Ireland COULD HAVE GOTTEN instead of who he got. He's going to look at the overall product and make his decisions based on that.

And what he'll see this year is a new HC (who seems to be working out nicely), new systems, a rookie QB (who he wants to succeed) and a whole new approach to how this team plays. He'll look at THIS YEAR'S draft to see if Ireland gave Philbin some of what he needed (Tannehill, Martin, Miller, yeah, he got some weapons). And then he'll give Ireland another year at least to see if he can continue producing or if he's gotta go.

But generally, when you get a new GM, they'll want a new HC. And if Ross is happy with the QB, happy with the HC, he'll be reluctant to get rid of the GM, because then he'll have to only consider GM candidates who know they won't be able to pick their own HC, and that will limit who he can get.

I know that's pretty hard for you to understand (logic) but that's your problem, not mine.

ALRIGHT GUYS, I'M HERE IN SUPPORT OF CRAIG M AND DASHI.

You guys don't seem to understand that Ireland has BEEN IN CHARGE OF THE TEAM FOR TWO YEARS ONLY and while you guys continue to bash the guy you fail to even acknowledge the fact Parcells was here for the 2008,2009 and 2010 season and IN CHARGE OF EVERYTHING,Have you guys ever heard of the saying "the buck stops here"..IF Parcells was in charge he should get the blame, just like we all blame the president for the economy, If Obama facks up I don't see too mane people blaming VP Biden. the guy in charge gets the blame but you all seem to have mass amneisa when it comes to Ireland.

Now Dashi made a good point which is Ireland was handicapped by the cap situation because of the horrendous signings by Parcells, the team really had no choice but to sign minimum salaried vets.

you guys can bash all you want but FACTS ARE FACTS and in the last two years he has done a good job in the draft.

Another Ireland failure is his classless, racist reputation and mistreatment of players, agents, fans, and media.

Another sampling of ireland's failures:

Clay
Odrick ahead of stars
Misi ahead of stars
Columbo
Not resigning R. Hill
Not resigning A. Goodman
Resigning Channing Crowder
Moving V. Carey to RG
Dansby's ridiculous contract
Cursing out a fan
Insulting a draft prospect
Taking 5 offseasons to finally fix the oline
Not allowing Zach Thomas a press conference after his release
Trading up for Shawn Murphy

Kris,

You're free to do whatever you want and if erasing the Arizona game is what works best for you, then by all means do it. Most of us haven't seen too much to get excited about around here for quite a few years now. I'm going to hang onto this one for as long as I can and think about what the future COULD become with Tannehill at QB.

Btw, I'm still saying 4-12 this year.

Add FZB to the blind list homers!

Craig,

I'm sorry but how many catches do Naanee & Armstrong have??? Look...You asked for cheap options that we COULD have had & yes Streeter & Hagan are both better than what we have behind Hartline & Bess.

At this point with Marlon Moore hurt (& who knows what he can do in terms of production) I'd be giving Matthews some MAJOR reps in practice & let Armstong & Naanee watch. We saw what they can do so let's see what Matthews can do in a game. What have we got to lose???

Where's Eggnew on the Irescum fail list?

FZB,

I couldn't care less what the trolls have to say. What's fueling it is the fact the team is playing well. Let them have there fun. What they are really scared about is the prospect for beating up on this team is falling on deaf ears and they're going to have to find another hobby all too soon.

Ireland Sucks,

Ok, umm, that's news to me that the GM told the HC where to play a player (moving Carey to RG). If you think Ireland makes those decisions then you're more delusional than you appear.

Also, taking 4 offseasons to fix the oline? He drafted 1 player. The rest were already here. Tell me again why Sparano (a FRIGGIN' OLINE COACH) couldn't do in 4 years what Philbin did in 1 offseason?

D Thomas = 3 Irescum failures

I get it...back to back heartbreakers...and I get it, our depth a WR is as deep as a puddle, but look at the development by the guys that are going to be a part of the long term solution here...hartline,bess, bush, miller, lane and most of T-hill. Every team that has traveled across the country has been killed thus far this year. We went in to zona but up a great fight...Do I like the outcome? hell no! but at least I know we are getting there and have the picks in next draft to add talent. thank you for your time and attention

It's become VERY obvious to most of us that the media has a special bias against the Miami Dolphins. I couldn't care less because at the end of the day they are just a bunch of talking heads.

Posted by: Craig M | October 02, 2012 at 01:11 PM

Dude, you're stupid.

A Bias against the phins? What have we done to have the media against us? Have we been so good that everyone hates us? LOLOL

Do you HONESTLY believe half the garbage you spew here?

Or is it that they are just reporting the news about how dysfunctional & flat out TERRIBLE this franchise has been?

Bias? I hope you can decipher bias from speaking the pitiful truth.

More proof that you are a HOMER.

WHRBs,

I agree totally with you on Matthews. Only thing I can say is I think Philbin has a plan and we have to trust him. I believe he's really making Matthews work for his playing time and it's going to really help him long term. As fans all we care about is winning Sunday but I think we need to look at the bigger picture here. Matthews will get his chance when he's ready and I guess Philbin doesn't feel he's there.

Ireland Sucks,

I could debate you on all those players but why should I bother but If you can think for a minute, just tell me Ireland's bad moves the last two years only..just TWO YEARS ONLY, you think you can do that for me amigo?

"I know that's pretty hard for you to understand (logic) but that's your problem, not mine."

LMFAO@DC. All great points BUT I don't know how that 'a@@hole' remark to a paying customer (which he admitted btw) is going to look if we finish with another losing season.

Apparently you don't take Ross at his word when he said he expected to win this year. I'm not sure if I do either BUT can an owner REALLY ignore four straight losing seasons??? Like I said that's Matt Millen-esque....

Hey Homer,

Blah ! blah ! blah!

I have no clue what you're writing to me, because you don't like to sign your name to anything. When you do, then maybe we'll talk. Otherwise, keep up the good work!

When Egnew's cut after a year like Gates, he will be on the failures list. Too early for that.

Gates actually played his 1st year though! Considering our TE's are so poor, it's hard to fathom he is that bad that he can't even get on the field.

Fasano, Mastrud & Clay & this guy can't see the field?? WOW

Hey Trolls R US,

So if Craig M says something that I agree with but you guys don't does that mean that Craig M gets all the blame and I don't since he is the president of the blind homers and I'm the VP ???

Notice how more than half ur list were selected from the Parcells Era 08-10.

Yes, Ireland is bad but is he worst than what we've had?

R.Brown (Could've had Rodgers)
Ginn (Could've had P.Willis)
Carey
Can't remember any other player drafted by the fins since Marino Retired!!!

This team only has 4 Major Questions Right Now!!!

That is what any logical person that doesn't live in the Moment Sees As*Clown!

This Season we all will watch because we want to see T-Hill's Growth. Not Wins or Loss.

Kris is right. 400yds was last Game. 275+ and Growth is what we want to see.

Keep Growing in the POCKET. NO NEED TO SCRAMBLE AND Have QB Runs set up. Let T-Hill Learn to Play QB! Once he can throw for 300 yd consistently in the POCKET. With a Positive TD:INT RATIO!

Then Unleash the Other Side Of T-Sizzle. But Teach him to play QB at the NFL Level First!

Have a great day! Miami has much upside!

R

Ireland is doing a great job. Fins are riding in the right direction. Don't listen to the haters. Most likely jet trolls just trying to stir the pot.

Ireland Sucks,

I'm still waiting for my answer...don't forget, just give me Ireland's bad moves the LAST TWO YEARS ONLY...

Hey FZBeeber,

Now, look from my perspective.

Why debate you when you are hell bent on trying to convince smart people that just because Parcells was the VP and making the offical decision, that means Irealnd was not his head scout, his go to guy on personnel & didn't use irelands scouting reports when drafting or signing players.

Do you think everyone is as naive as you? Guess again!Go rub ireland's junk a lil more.

The JETS....LOL. Let's start talking about the Jets. Revis done for the year. Sanchez down, Tebow warming up. Holmes out for the week, could be a lot longer. Fatboy Slim out at the end of the year, Sparano close behind.

Looking good, guys! As trolls you must be VERY proud!
