War of words getting heated now

You already know the Jets are flappin' gums about how they have Reggie Bush intimidated and worried about getting hurt based on the last meeting in which the Dolphins running back suffered a knee injury.

You know LaRon Landry said incidiary things and referenced head-hunting. Well, so did Aaron Maybin.

"We want to knock him out but we want to do it legally," Maybin told ESPNNewYork.

I predicted that kind of stuff would be answered today by the Dolphins. Well, the Dolphins are answering.

Enter Dolphins center Mike Pouncey.

"He won't even play enough to hurt Reggie," Pouncey said of the reserve Jets linebacker. "I don't even want to talk about talk about him. He's a joke."

Game on.

Pouncey also made the point that if he wants to get at Maybin it'll have to be on special teams.

Ziiing.

By the way, the Jets have made 469 tackles this season. Maybin has accounted for one of those.

Mild mannered Richie Incognito (sarcasm), meanwhile, was more cryptic in his commentary.

"We hear all the talking going on," Incognito said. "We understand it's part of Jets week and all that. But all the talking stops on Sunday."

As Randy Starks chimed in, "We do our talking on the field."

Coach Joe Philbin, predictably, wants nothing to do with the trash talking. In his typically calm manner he said, "It's a free country. They can say what they want."

Same old name alling, Been going now since 970.
Nothing to see here,Move along.

Really hope the Jets get the beating they should have gotten in the last match up. Dolphins have improved a good deal since then.

Dumb talking about hurting players though, with all the bs that goes around. Serves no purpose, but to piss off the other team which is usually a bad thing.

Smart Team....

That's a reflection of a smart coach...

Love the comment by Pouncey, though.
Lol Goooo Dikphins!!!!!

Jets back up their talkin 27-17

Entertaining game this weekend. Can't Wait!

POIZEN…I hope you’re out there…I got a question for you….

How is it that the WORST QB in football (Blain Gabbert)

….who plays on the WORST TEAM in football (J-Ville)

….who know has ONE-ARM (injured non-throwing shoulder)

….is still able to keep CHAD HENNE on the BENCH….

I got to know the answer to this one….I want to know what you see/saw in Henne that had you so memorized…

And finally…do you still see it….

Mild mannered Richie Incognito... heh

Like I didn't want Miami to beat the Jets badly enough before, but to watch Fat Ryan and his band of misfit New York clowns get defeated on Sunday would be extra sweet now.

I hope THE DOLPHINS SCREW the jets on sunday 24-13,GO Dolphins go,the jets talk a lot of s.h.i.t. they will shoke.

Randy Starks is the MAN.So is Cameron Wake.....and so is Paul Solia.Odrick.........sometimes...but HE needs to step up.Miami s DEFENSE have got alot of BAD BOYS.The stinking Jets Offense is in for a very physical and rough game.....as always when they play Miami.Miami can t stand them.Miami will win this game Sunday.

Starks is a good man....way to take the "High Road" bigman and make your statement on the field this Sunday. Hopefully Gaffney is ready to go....we need to spread out that offense to create more opportunities for Bush.
Quite frankly, I'd like to see us knock the
J-E-T-S into the AFC West to make them believe "they are who they think they are!" (Denny Green)

LOL

miami wins.

Mark Sanchez is probably shaking his head at these marginal goofballs on the Jets making this big stink. Maybin - marginal NFL player - Landry - on a one year deal raising heck with the Miami Dolphins meanwhile Sanchez will have to face one of the meanest front fours in football with a shaky o line. Poor burrito boy.

Were gonna stomp the reelin Jets. It's going to be a great day sunday! Bush will have at least 130 yards on the ground.

season changer here, win and start rolling towards playoffs like a train. lose and season ends by losing any tie breaker to garbage jets

The jets are the scum of the earth.... the turd in the punchbowl of life... and so on.

Anyone hear from Odinstank?, I bet Armando finally banned him.

Speak softly and beat the living snot out of your opponent.

Kris @3:21pm,

Well said. Very good point. I thought the same thing when I saw that Gabbert was STILL going to play this weekend. Doesn't say a lot about Henne's future in this league.

I was guilty of some of the same thoughts about him but the light definitely came on for me last year.

vegas mike must be on crack... or just another delusional troll.

Dolphins 23= lowlife stinkin not yets=10

What's the latest on Jabbar Gafney...does he get activated this week or what?

henne horrible, that game was hilarious

Craig, Kris,

I was one of the unfortunate ones who saw Henne come in last Sunday. Didn't look like he knew the playbook at all - couldn't hit any receiver. After a few series, the coaching staff lost all confidence in him and called all running plays. Even with MJD out of the game. Henne will be cut this year and his career will most likely be over. Haven't seen a guy come off the bench looking that bad since Billy Joe Tolliver for the Bills when he admitted that he didn't know the playbook.

and ill tell everyone....i told u so

Steve Ross save the Dolphins. SELL THE TEAM!

but Bill, the Henne we saw the last two years in Miami looked nothing like the rookie Henne was or the guy that put the dagger in the Jets' hearts on a Monday night. I remember him coming in relief in his rookie year and throwing darts down the field. How could a guy regress so badly without a major injury??

This game may be postponed due to Hurricane Sandy! Depends on the course it takes.

We have no excuses if we can't put it to the Jets, considering how many of their starters on BOTH sides of the ball...all Pro types...are injured and out.
It will be strategy that either elevates us or defeats us.
If I'm Coyle, I would run and hide if a Tony Sparano led offense were to beat me TWICE.

..Yes Henne bashing..It never gets boring. My favorite pastime on this blog!!!!

This whole thing about he said this, we responded by saying that. Has about as much bearing on the outcome of this game as a prediction from one of the bloggers on this site..Who cares? Do you guys think that if the game is on the line in the 4th quarter that a quote from Laron Landry is going to inspire our team to make a play? Will his quote be on the minds of the offense, or will they be concentrating on executing the play? This is all saber rattling, and although it may fire up the base..It has no impact on the game itself. A bunch of noise.

The entire Jets organization except for Tebow is garbage. Tebow was stupid to go there. I guess that might make him garbage too.

Jets just added to their pounding by pissing us off. New prediction:

Fins 31
Jets 13

Never understood this Jets hate. If you remember correctly, Thurman Thomas and the Bills did more harm to Us than any other Team that has ever been.

We can see that Most here were not raised under Shula's teachings but under Marino's influence. You are wrong. Follow Shula.

....I'm not sure that this game will be so easy to predict. The reason...The weather. It may be a full Noreastern. I ould think we have the advantage in this scenario as we have the better offensive, and defensive fronts. But in weather like this. Who knows. You guys all remember that Dolphin Steeler Monday night game a few years back..3-0. The weather pretty much dictated both offenses useless. We will see if this is the case Sunday.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but I'm with DD on this one. Not like we've been blowing bad teams out of the water this year. And last few weeks, we squeaked by. Offense has been ok, not solid by any stretch of the imagination. And if anyone forgets, watch all the past Jets games and see how many times Keller torched us.

This is a 3 point game either way, and I'm kind of sick of 3 point games. Can Miami play a whole game, all cylinders firing once this Season? We'll see.

Of course I'm a homer and still predicting we win, but I'll be nervous all the way up to the final whistle.

This is all saber rattling, and although it may fire up the base..It has no impact on the game itself. A bunch of noise.

Hey Darryl!

90% of the time I would normally agree with you here that type of thing is normally impactful at the NCAA level but not so much in the Pro's unless it's win or go home time. In this particular case though you have a player in a heated rivalry all but saying that the hit he put on the opponent was an intentional shot at injuring him. You then factor the consequences of a loss for either side and while only late Oct. the stakes are high.

I expect both teams to come out juiced and firing on all cylinders in about as close to a throw back game as your going to get in today's NFL. I suspect the 1st Qrt. to have an almost Play off atmosphere to it with some big time hitting out there. The game as all do will settle down but this one will be chippy from the word go or don't you remember JT and Roth a few years ago fighting Pre-game with some of the Jets for that matter the celebration a month ago on the field when Bush went down.

At the end like I said though old school Football that will be won by the team that dictates the tone and controls the trenches and I liked our bunch before this nonsense. Some say we blow them out and I don't think we will I've watched the Jets now for 2 weeks giving the Texans and Pats all they can handle but at crunch time we dominate both sides of the line and get the W in an old school slugfest.

Aaron Mabin??? That first round bust is talking trash!!!

Try seeing the field douche bag!!!

3 more days till the take you out back to the woodshed for a major ass kicking!!

Booos at GIANTS stadium or music to my ears when the Jokes play

go finsssssssss, biggest game of the year

How could a guy regress so badly without a major injury??
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | October 25, 2012 at 04:57 PM

Because of Dan Henning. IMO.
But this is a very interesting point, What if we interchanged places between Tannehill and Henne? Or better what if both have the current coach staff in their rookie season?
As far as I see. still Tannehill is better but one thing is sure, Henne will not regress IMO.

henne was never even close to being good. the guy has been awful from the start. a couple good games doesnt change that. there were fools in here for years who kept saying he would finally bust out, was so simple to see though just how bad this guy was and is

bill c,

I was all for Henne after the 09 Season when he came in for Pennington but in 2010 quickly soured on him. It became apparent he did indeed stare down his WR's was inaccurate with the intermediate routes and generally a streaky player. With some guys you wondered who you would get week to week but with Henne it was Qrt. to Qrt. and for all his arm strength for one reason or another under threw the deep ball often. He was also terrible in the redzone were he couldn't throw a fade pattern to save his life!

Lageman,

You old flamer you still around?? Listen up Jeffy Boy I always had you pegged! I remember when Dennis Byrd had his injury and started walking again. I saw the movie and you were proud of your part weren't you??\

See for those that don't know Lageman volunteered to help Byrd in the Bathroom when he had to pee on his crutches. Seems like you like the tinkle tinkle did you shake it afterwards to make sure all the drops were out before putting it away??

Before somebody calls me heartless, Byrd was on crutches and his recovery guaranteed but that didn't stop you did it Jeffy you still liked helping you old Jax, Jets FLAMER!! I guess that's why you like a Lego on your Lageman.

Wow, somebody is on a hate rampage.

This clown never ceases to amaze. Fool the team is 3-3 and looking up!

Yet u still come with ur ignorant rants on everything dolphin.

Ur consistently childish! Instead of progressing ur regressing as an adult.

If they couldnt beat the Jets at home they're not beating them on the road. JMHO

Dashi, 3-3 is chit. Lets not be happy with mediocrity.

hey, who's this retard lego man?

Gotta say, this team is lightyears better than when they were under Sparano, Cameron, and Saban and that's a reflection of the coach. I'm excited to see where our team will be 2 years from now

FFL you described Henne to a T.Did you see him the other day? There he was fourth and 6 throwing the ball out of bounds.I remember feeling relieved that he isnt playing for us anymore.

Who is happy? Don't be ignorant

Just stating facts. And there is a reason to be happy!

3-3 with a rookie qb and coach! And we all know the team is consistently improving!

Let me guess u approve of lego's tirade!

That's great! Thanks for posting this. I was actually very eager to see how that happens while this company was taking care of my heating toronto. Again thanks for the insights.
