« Miami Dolphins needing cornerback help | Main | Every throw Ryan Tannehill made against Arizona »

Welcome to South Florida Jabar Gaffney

Jabar Gaffney stayed in New England the past few weeks even after the Patriots cut him and he was without a team. Fact is, Gaffney hoped he'd be back with the Pats and as you'll see below, he saw other teams like the Dolphins as the "enemy."

But he's with Miami now.

And that means learning on the fly.

Gaffney and quarterback Ryan Tannehill worked on hand signals today, something that is important just prior to a road game (Miami plays at Cincinnati Sunday).

The portions of practice I saw didn't suggest to me the Dolphins are leaning heavily on Gaffney in the game plan. That obviously can change in the next couple of days.

Anyway, I present to you No. 10 of the Miami Dolphins -- Jabar Gaffney:

Who ever put the This year's Madden together thinks pretty high of Tanne....

I haven't looked @ his rating....

but he is balls accurate and can make all the throws on the game.....

It's way past my bed time....

Night shift...it's all yours.....

Defending myself from being an imposter DOLT im done with your antics. I'm trying to save my name not defend a troll who is most likely you posting under my name.

He will sit on the bench for 2 or 3 games and then be released!

No-No! I apologized a long time ago. Remeber? I said if that was an impostor and/or a Troll, my apologees.

But you continue to defend the supposed imposter/hi-jacker.

Everybody else seems to take offense and gets upset with whomever impostors them.

But YOU and ONLY YOU, out of everybody here, defends your impostor.

It doesn't take Inspector Clueseau to figure this one out.

LOL odin you are a joke, nothing more, nothing less, nice to see you have some life left in you but seriously no one wants you around as evident by the lack of posts on this blog right now. Even oscar doesn't want apart of you

Dolphins 77, I mean Yg you.....(read my name)

Dashi says Odin ruins the blog.

Cant we have him banned?

Very worried about how Fins will defend the Bengals underrated offense this week. AJ Green will be a tough match up for Smith. Hawkins is the real deal in the slot. Not sure who will keep up with him. Gresham will stress our linebackers and Daulton is always a threat to tuck it and run. Coyle has his hands full whether he knows them well or not.

Actually tanne is underrated in madden.arm just strong enough to be effective.luck is more athletic and even faster than tanne. Crazy. Charles clay is my main target. Very versatile.

I took a 1 week break from reading this blog because 3, or 4 jackasses (a couple that post under different names every entry)keep bickering and trying to 1-up each other on EVERY SINGLE POST THEY MAKE! Come on, are you guys adults, or 16 fu.king years old?!Try to remember this blog is supposed to be about the Dolphins. No one on here (yes, 96% of the bloggers posting here are normal adults) gives 2 sh.ts about you 3, or 4 A-Holes trying to "win" over the other guy's posts. Give it a fu.king break! If another jackoff on here bothers you repeatedly, fu.king ignore him! G-D A-Holes! You're ruining the blog!

Jake,

I think we use last week as a Blue Print.

Put Smith on AJ and make sure he has help over the top. Smith has got excellent coverage up to a point. He's getting better, but certain double moves just gives him fits. That and when a play starts breaking down. I dunno what happens. Maybe he looks back at the QB for too long. He gets stuck or something and his guy gets away. It's somewhat of a liability, but get him help over the top.

I'm having nightmares already thinking of Carroll or Wilson alone on Hawkins. Maybe put Carroll or Wilson on him with some underneath zone help. It's going to be a Chess Match this one.

If Hawkins is giving nightmares, I don't even know what to call it when I think of Gresham! How about Misi, A banged up Burnett or Dansby? I don't like those odds.

I think I'd go with alot of Dime packages with a lot of blitzing. Especially some zone blitzes from Gresham's side. Keep somebody on him man to man. Maybe a linebacker with some help. Then Zone Blitz the Hell out of them from Greshams side.

It's risky business for sure. But I get the feeling if we sit back with a lot of base type coverages, Dalton will start picking us apart.

We desperately need another 8 sacks....plus 2 and tons of pressure, pressure, pressure!

Here's to hoping last week wasn't an abberation!

Bottom's Up!!!!

Then if thats not enough, they're blabbering away like somebody gives a shyt about their political philosophies and beliefs.

Who is ignorant enough to come to Miami Dolphins In Depth to debate politics. The only thing I can figure is they don't have enough to hang on any REAL political blogs.

Anywhoo........Hardcore, AMEN!

"This signing is positive in relation to gaining chunk yards and all that in relation to being put in a position of scoring points, in multiples of 3 with respect to field goals....all in all, relative to other options in relation to adding points, I would pump my fist...if I had not been fired from Miami and demoted to assist the Jets"

Crap Troll = Crap Blog!

You've been allowed to ruin this place for a long time.

The only thing that makes sense, you get "Special Treatment" because you "GIVE" some special treatments.

Now go post: Fire Ireland/Ross Is A Cheapo/and Philbin Sucks over and over again until you're absolutely positively certain that this is the number 1 blog at the Herald.

Nobody is the Wiser(wink, wink), get own down with you bad self!

Rick, stop it Dude, you're cracking me up.

Gaffney's got the Goods. I've seen the Tape!

PS: YIKES ;)

Maybe if you guys stop acknowledging and mentioning and engaging the trolls they will go away. Maybe, because over time the current approach obviously isn't working. If you respond, you are the idiot

I just "Laced Up" some 90 proof Bulleit Bourbon with a splash of Tea and a Lemon Twist!

My Favorite Little Blonde Hottie is on her way(Don't be jealous/hating Monkey Bu-oy! Real MEN do score with the Hotties ;)

I only have just a short time to post. I was just curious. Does anyone have any opinions or knowledge of how "Football Smart" Gaffney is?

I'm just wondering how long we can relistically expect him to start contributing?

Hartline and Bess are really lighting it up. They're obviously developing a lot of chemistry and continuity with Tannehill. It's obvious Tannehill has a lot of confidence in these two guys.

Judging by the amount of times he targeted Armstrong and/or Naanee, you can tell he didn't trust them.

With Gaffney being in a another universe compared too the later two, it's a given that we'll be improved. So I'm just curious as to how long it'll realistically take for Gaffney to contribute? How long it'll take for he and Tannehill to start developing chemistry?

I know there are all kinds of variables so no one can say with any certainty. Just trolling for some opinions.

I would think that he being a seasoned vet, he could learn the 3rd receiver plays very quickly. And Armando already reported he an Tannehill were working on hand signals. This is a good sign of course. But seriously, can we expect anything from him this Sunday against the Bengals?

Hey dinosaur the dolphins have sucked since huizinga started hiring coaches as a cure all as if the team was a blockbuster franchise. Now Ross looks out over the hal empty stadium from his luxury box cursing under his breath like he and Ireland are apt to do, and ask the barkeep for a double.

Maybe if you guys stop acknowledging and mentioning and engaging the trolls they will go away. Maybe, because over time the current approach obviously isn't working. If you respond, you are the idiot

Posted by: Marc | October 03, 2012 at 11:45 PM

Marc, with all due respect, that comment is assinine and you know it. You've been here long enough to know, that no matter what you do with these two idiots, they just keep banging away, pumping up those Hit Totals.

I don't even mind the hits. Matter of fact, I like the fact that this blog keeps coming in with the most hits at the Herald. But, as easy as they post the dumb crap and pump up the hit totals, they can make football related posts and bump up the hit totals.

You know as well as I do that Mando's little ADHD'ed out Troll Twins will be here no matter what.

Personally, I've decided that they can ignore my posts. They can skip all my stuff just as easily as anyone else. That or they can simply educate themselves about football a little, like everyone else and post away.

Sometimes I just ignore the ignorant little Tards. But I've got to the point that If I have to "PUT UP WITH THEM, well, then.......They're going to have to "PUT UP WITH ME". I'll point them out at EVERY TURN when I recognize them(which isn't hard to do, you know this, you've been here as long as me). Especially when I see them Fvcking with Good or New posters just for the express purpose of Fvcking with someone.

They can learn a little about football and post as much. And if they're simply to brain dead(as I suspect), then they have no business being here. Mando can ban them, because we don't care how good of a knob they polish(if you know what I'm saying).
----------------------------------------------------

Quite frankly Marc, for as long as you've been here, I would think you already know their going to be here pumping up the Hit Totals REGARDLESS of how they're treated or responded too.

And if......I repeat.....**IF** you don't know that by now, then YOU are the idiot.

i just love it how people forget that this team wasn't supposed to compete at the leve they're doing it.... The reason we're now saying "we should be 3-1" is because of the product and the coaching staff some of you have criticized recently....

stop acting!

Gaffney will be in on third downs. Simple routes. Slants ins and outs and comebacks. Probably wil run around to open up other guys till he learns the playbook.

Maybe if you guys stop acknowledging and mentioning and engaging the trolls they will go away. Maybe, because over time the current approach obviously isn't working. If you respond, you are the idiot

-------------------------------------------------

Sorry, this is a sore spot for me. What you're saying is, just let them do and say what they want, they'll go away. The problem is, two in particular haven't went away and I know this as fact because they keep talking about posts we made 4 fvcking years ago.

So you're saying, let them do wahtever they want. Let them fill the pages with garbage post after garbage post that we all have to WADE through to talk with anyone. Thats like just giving up. The Gay Preacher routines and Gladyss who pees on super market floors.

My kids can't read about the Dolphins here or post here because these two Gay Crack Hoes! And they don't go away. So, as long as these two idiots remain, I'll be right here(I know they'll get a kick out of this phrase)BUSTING THAT A SS!

I ain't no pacifist Marc and I ain't going to pretend. Mando comes on here an insults his good posters over these two Meth Heads. Remember: Define a Troll?

Psssssssssssssssfpt! Don't come crying to me because I fight FeeAggotts with Fire!

For all you cool aid drinking fans. Puke! Enjoy Tannehill in three years when he has been replaced because he keeps turning the ball over and is out of the starting QB position. Sure he throws for over 400 yards but he had two crucial turnovers and cost us the game. That's what counts not Fing yards. Lets suck for Barkley. Anyone but the incompetent Tannehill, who made horrible decisions in college.

Gaffney will be in on third downs. Simple routes. Slants ins and outs and comebacks. Probably wil run around to open up other guys till he learns the playbook.

Posted by: Sammo | October 04, 2012 at 12:24 AM

Yeah, I agree and figured this much out. But I mean, do you think he'll see that much playing time this week against the Bengals?

Do you think he'll be ready that quick to fill Armstrong and Naanee's role Sunday?

Or do you think we'll just see him periodically on a few plays that they specifically went over?

I guess what I'm trying to ask is, do you think he'll be able to handle the 3rd receiver role COMPLETELY by Sunday? Is this even possible?

I realize none of us can REALLY know, so I'm just asking about your opinion?

You sound like the "Man" for the job!

You suck for Barkley.

BTW-Hows Santonio Holmes doing anyway? Is he keeping DuhRel company these days?

Is Gaffneys momma a hooka?

Third down specific plays mostly. But in three wide he will have a few specific hot routes depending on what tanne sees and what hand signals they have worked out between each other. I say three or four catches for 40 yards. More than nanny or st"stretch" armstrong will have done thus far.

For all you cool aid drinking fans. Puke!

-I never puke from Kool-Aid. Come to think of it, I never puke from Bourbon or Rum. What are you babbling about praytell?
----------------------------------------------------

Enjoy Tannehill in three years when he has been replaced because he keeps turning the ball over and is out of the starting QB position.

-Well now, in all reality, this really is just one mans useless **PREDICTION**. Don't get me wrong though, I respect your right to post your useless opinio........ah..........I mean, useless **PREDICTION**.

I have a **PREDICTION** too, I predict Tannehill gets the NFL's Offensive Rookie Of The Week award. Oh wait, he ALREADY did.

Ok then, I guess I'll just predict we win 4 of the next 5 and finish 9-7 on the year! Huh? You like that one?
---------------------------------------------------

Sure he throws for over 400 yards but he had two crucial turnovers and cost us the game.

-His receiver lost his footing and fell down on the INT. Just for the record, his throw was on the money and his receivers won't always be falling down. It happens to all QB's from the avg. to the Greats. It ain't nothing, he shook it off like seasoned vet and came right back.

-On the fumble, that was bad. He has to learn to protect the ball. In his defense though, the missed block gave a pretty damn good defender a clean shot. Again, it happens to the best. For the record, the Kid has shown that he learns QUICKLY from his mistakes!
----------------------------------------------------

Lets suck for Barkley.

-Like I said previously, this sounds like a "JOB" for YOU! You're on your own here Bub!
----------------------------------------------------

Anyone but the incompetent Tannehill, who made horrible decisions in college.

Posted by: Sling2 | October 04, 2012 at 12:33 AM

-**YOU** call him incompetent. But the rest of his Peers in the NFL just named him Offensive Rookie Of The Week.

No o0ffense Bub, but I think I'll go with the NFL on this one ;)

Irescum is a rank amateur in over his head against the big boys. Doesnt Ross see this?

Sammo,

With Gaffney being a seasoned vet and then having worked with Brady too?

I see him being a big help not just with the young receivers, but in working it in quickly with Tannehill.

If it works out as well as I think(hope)it does, this signing will be huge for Ireland.

Ross pretty much put it out there that if we don't have a winning season, Ireland's squarely on the hot seat. But, with Tannehill starting to look like the real deal and his bringing in Philbin's type of guys, I see Ireland possibly surviving a losing season.

I not sure about Ireland and I don't know how much influence Philbin has had on some of these good moves he made this year. But they have got this thing going in the right direction and seem to working together excellently.

We are what our record says we are. But we ALL also know that this team has played well enough to easily be 3-1 losing only to the heavily favored Texans.

I wonder how much of all that registers with Ross and his ultimatim?

That hit and fumble reminded me of the one in the packers and cardinals playoff game awhile back. Rogers threw a pick and fumbled the ball away resulting in the loss for the pack. Same up the middle blitz by the same no.58 just a differant guy. Think pack fans wanted rogers gone after that? Maybe but im guessing not. Same with some fin fans. Dude kills a great d but lets get rid of him despite the potential.

Gaffney hasnt played or truly tested his leg in true practice or game situations in how long? He aint gonna be able to due a whole lotta work effectivly till he builds up some football stamina and shape.

Where the Heck Did "Marc" go?

He was so concerned about the Trolls getting their heads busted and didn't post anything about football?

Hmmmmmmmmm..........I wonder why "Marc" would just pop up out of nowhere and only complain about us handing the Trolls their a sses today?
----------------------------------------------------

Marc, I know you have a real type pad account and that you've posted here, periodically for a long time. But now that I think about it, and in light of the contents of your "One And Only" post, the legit account doesn't **neccessarily** mean that much.

I'm starting to wonder about you man(just kidding, I've always wondered about your posting "habits").

But essentially, what you did was, you interupted YOUR NIGHT to stop by, read and post(I'm assuming). And the thing you thought most important to post on the "Welcome Jabbar" blog was to reprimand the legit posters and call them names for trying to put the Trolls in their place?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm..........I'm just SURE you'll have a good explanation "Marc". You ALWAYS do!

Actually, now I'm starting to remember all that posting you did a couple years ago about how you thought ALL parents should get their Teen Aged Kids Amped Up on steroids so they could "Be the Best they can Be".

No joke folks! Not just once or twice, "Marc" posted in depth on this and why he thought it's a great idea.

Sorry "Marc", but this is getting a little too fishy for me.
----------------------------------------------------

Can I get a witness Sammo? You remember "Marc" posting about all kids should be on steroids?

Sammo at 1;09,

Good point(sigh...).

Duh, I hadn't even thought of that. With that kind of injury you know he wasn't doing any kind of stamina work, let alone Football work.

I guess we'll all have to hope he was in GREAT shape to begin with and bounces back fast.

And thats all I can get away with.

My Honey just got Home.......errrrrrr........(GULP)....

I mean, she just got off work and "Stopped By" on HER way HOME-lol.

Anywhoo, I'm sure the Troll Bu-oy will post something about it in the morning. He always does. He'll say Odin said he had a Hottie coming over and then posted for the next 8 hours straight.

I'll be TRYING to do "SOMETHING" for the next 8 hours straight, but it won't be Blogging ;)

God I hope I wake up ALIVE tommorrow afternoon!

ValHalla!!!!

At this point in the week it always cums down to one thing - bonesmoking.
Always has always will.

The only one qualified to judge the players on the Dolphins is Jeff Ireland. To a lesser extend Joe Philbin.

You Jets followers are just about the most stupid people in America.

Why would anyone care what that useless, geriatric drunken tool 'odinseye' has to say?
This is literally a guy with NO life, nada, zilch, who feels compelled to come here every single day in the pathetically amusing belief that he has actual 'friends' here who are entertained (let alone actually believe) his sad, fabricated tales about 'hotties,' rock stardom and a hundred other nonsensical, total b.s. garbage in order to fumigate the stench of his actual, lonely existence.

Good lord Odinstank, Have you no shame?
Dude, You've been posting for 16 stright hours, Your Either to drunk/drugged to post anymore but PLEASE, STOP WITH THE HOTTIE BS.
And BTW, Your the only one that hopes you wake up.
See you tommarrow around 6 or 7 pm, More then likely covered in vomit,Pe e, Or doodoo. More then likely all three.

Cmon Dinosaurs the Dolphins are rebuilding dont make excuses for them they are losers this year.I know the fans havent bought into Irelands we want to win today and tommorrow proclaimation,Hes not as good of a rhetoric baker as the presedential canidates or corporate CEOs.The stadium will be half empty for all the home games UNLESS they go on a winning streak. If any of you so-called Dolphin experts think they will I will cover you bet.A winning team would have won at least one of the last two overtime games if not both.Dont give me this excuse we COULD HAVE BEEN 3-1.Even caveman Bill Parcells who brought this franchise back to the stone ages said you are what your record says you are which is a LOSING TEAM at 1-3.

And a Good Morning it is.

I picked up this completely mind boggling stat on Tannehill. For a Rookie in his FIRST FOUR STARTS in the NFL!

Get out of here you Nay Sayers! Rookie Ryan Tannehill is TOPS when facing the Blitz! Thats when push comes to shove! Thats when REAL QB's earn their pay checks! And Tannehill's shoving back.

Read this and be AMAZED!
---------------------------------------------------

Generally, Tannehill did very well against the blitz. According to ESPN’s Stats Inc., Tannehill faced extra pressure on 25 of 44 dropbacks and completed 16 of 22 passes for 306 yards, with a touchdown and interception.

ESPN reported that’s the most passing yards by any quarterback against at least five pass rushers since the start of the 2008 season.
---------------------------------------------------

The most yards while facing the blitz? Out of ANY and ALL QB's? Since 2008?

Get the Fvck Out!

Tannehill is For Real!

Monkey Bu-oy,

Simple minds are so EASY to predict-LOL!

There's only 3 things you can count on in life, Death, Taxes and Troll Bu-oy being DuMMerin A Stump-ROTFLMAO!

PS: Is it me, or does Monkey Boy just DETEST hearing about Hotties?

I wunder why?

Bhwaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

Jabar, Welcome to Fantasy Island,
where all of the Dolphins homers can play make believe that their team is top 15.

I didn't know Jamie Foxx could play football.

Ok, seriously now, night shift is over. Crawl back into Mommy's Basement. Odin needs to talk with the Grown Ups. You Kiddie Kats Hush Up Now!

Anybody.....somebody, check the stats I posted on Tannehill at 7:53. I got that from Barry Jackson's column. Can that be right? I want to believe it, but it does sound a little far fetched:

"According to ESPN’s Stats Inc., Tannehill faced extra pressure on 25 of 44 dropbacks and completed 16 of 22 passes for 306 yards, with a touchdown and interception."

"ESPN reported that’s the most passing yards by any quarterback against at least five pass rushers since the start of the 2008 season."

If so, Tannehill answered the bell in this all important situation. It's standard procedure for DC's to try and pressure Rookie QB's. And if this stat is true, Tannehill has passed a MAJOR test.

It's too fvcking bad, it's Soooooooo BAD, it still hurts! Carpenter could have single handedly, or single footed-ly made a **STAR** out of Tannehill already. I'm not singling Carpenter out altogether, but can you imagine all the talk? All the pundits and ESPN's biased A ss if Tannehill had led us to 3-1 right now? Putting up the numbers he has as a Rookie?

Of course they wouldn't be swinging off his nads like they do Newton, Griffin or Luck because of all the Anti-Miami biases. But a 3-1 start would have force fed it down their lame throats!

Damn You Carpenter(Shaking Fist Vigorously)!

Screw a 2 TD game, I would sell my soul for a 3 TD route of the Bengals this Sunday!

Jabar, Welcome to Fantasy Island,

Obvious "Closet Homer". It couldn't be more obvious.

Even jet fans wouldn't be on a Dolphins blog this early in the day. But here this Closet Homer is, on a Dolphin Blog before 9:30 in the morning. Freaking simpleton thinks he's fooling somebody.

Like Shula said Son, you have to have the Courage of your Convictions.

Allow me to transate: You're a Poosy Boy.

I bet their PROUD of you.......LOL.......LOL.......LOL.......

(Picture the Herman Munster Laugh)

Hey Odin,

You up already or just not gone to bed yet?

Either way, rock on!!

One thing I'm hoping to see soon (like this weekend) is Tannehill reducing the critical mistakes (turnovers). He needs to protect the ball better. No turnovers, and we're in a totally different position today.

And the Blog Hit Trolls are now cranking up their efforts for the day. A ton of nonsensical one liners in an attempt to guarantee "We" stay "AHEAD" of any other blogs at the Herald.

Is it REALLY needed Armando? And even if it is, are the Blog Hit Totals REALLY worth **YOUR** integrity?

Define INTEGRITY Armando!

Bhwaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

I like foot long hot dogs.
