Anthony Fasano downgraded to questionable

Tight end Anthony Fasano suddenly appeared on the injury report Friday when he was listed as probable with a hip injury. It wasn't believed to be serious as Fasano even went through the whole Friday practice.

Well, apparently the injury got worse overnight.

This afternoon the Dolphins downgraded Fasano to questionable. His status for Sunday's game against Seattle is now uncertain.

If Fasano cannot play, the Dolphins can go with two tight ends -- Jeron Mastrud and Charles Clay. Or ... gasp ... they can go with three tight ends as usual by activating rookie Michael Egnew for the first time this season.

Oscar there is no way you read that Sherman said the word S.ck in relation to one of his players.Dont avoid the question where did you read it?

Oscar dont encourage Ireland to draft more offensive lineman with first or second round picks by using the word ZONE BLOCKING and WCO is the same sentence.

Who thought we'd be any good this year anyway. Losing sucks, be we have a good young QB with potential, loads of draft picks, and are finally out of salary cap hell Parcells left us in. Granted, there is a pretty decent chance Ireland will screw up this good news.

Alot of Tannehill sucks talk... Seems a bit premature. Maybe if he had a back producing like Marshawn Lynch and WRs like Sidney Rice, and Golden tate on the outsides, and Zach Miller at TE and he had such a low rating you would have a point. But you don't have a point, and he is good for a rookie. If he gets some people who want to make plays around him he will probably get alot better in the next few years. Oh and the whole shoulda stuck with Henne thing. That is insane! Give Henne the ball and tell him to win the game, I will tell you what will happen. He will throw the ball into thre ground three times trying to check down to 5 yard passes out of the back field with a minute left and a long way to go. Oh yeah then he will throw it out of bounds on a hail mary attempt. Such a Choke artist. #Standwithtannehill

I don't get the continuous comments about Matt Moore not winning against winning teams. During the 9-game stretch closing the season last year, the Dolphins won 6 games and lost 3. During that stretch they faced 6 teams with winning records and won against 4 of them.

Every team the Dolphins faced with Moore at the helm last year had a better record with the exception of the Eagles in week 14. They were 4-8, same as the Dolphins and used their 26-10 victory over Miami to start a playoff run by winning out their final 4 games.

Notable games under Moore last year included 3-point losses to both 2011 Superbowl teams: NY Giants and NE Patriots in which defensive failures eroded Dolphin leads in each game. There was also a final game win over the NY Jets while the Jets were still in playoff contention.

Football is a team game and Matt Moore certainly didn't win these games by himself. Yes, he fumbles too often and takes too many sacks. But he certainly was closer to being the solution rather than the problem with last year's team.

Ireland will end the matt moore option real soon when he trades him

If Tannehill struggles today you need to put Moore in there to see if we can catch some kind of magic. If anything he can throe a nice deep ball...something I haven't seen from Tannehill at all. If hne QB is not getting it done time to try someone else. Saying that I hope Tannehill lights it up today.

Forget about seeing Matt Moore unless tannehill get injured ok understand that . This team needs to stop allowing big plays down the field ,stop mental breakdowns and start playing smart football their heads are up their a-holes right now that it it's quite simple

Oh and by the way Jeff Ireland is not going anywhere ,,,,,,,,,,,,,enjoy your day fair weather fans

Yeah, let Agnew play. Got to know if he's a keeper or not.

In other words, King Shula, in other words, you dimwit.

The People that are not Baseball Lovers, Synagogue goers in Miami and that have the most $, live in Downtown Miami and farther South now. Build the New Dolphins Stadium near here.

Oscar now the kettle is calling the pot DIMWIT DITTO TO YOU PAL

go finssssssssss

bill, you and others here think they know better than pretty much EVERY OTHER TEAM in the NFL. Plus 2 different coaching staffs here in Miami. Your pipe dream that Matt Moore is anything but an avg QB in the NFL is as ridiculous as those saying Henne is anything but such. And you people seem not to want to believe your lying eyes. Look around the league. Who are the good teams: Patriots, Giants, Houston, San Fran, Denver, Green Bay, Atlanta, etc. What do ALL these teams have? Either elite or close to it QBs (minus maybe SF, but they have the best d in the NFL and a great run game, PLUS all kinds of offensive weapons). Miami isn't made like that. And frankly, Matt Moore isn't even Alex Smith.

The thing you continue to dismiss with Moore is his football intelligence. It's just not there. Yes, he's a gamer, yes, he's effective at times. But over a 16 game Season, he's mediocre, no better than .500. That's the reason he was a backup to Sparano, that's the reason he was a backup to Philbin. And that's the reason NO TEAM has been breaking down Miami's door for his services.

massive use your brain just a little bit would ya. why would it matter if moore came in. we dont want to win games, we just want to continue to develop players and thill is one of them for sure

Marc Ireland made all the moves to get draft choices for starters before the season. He has waited to negoiate with the FA starters until the end of the season. The Dolphins have cap room and draft picks. This to me are signs that Ireland will be making wholesale changes year to year in the 53 players that start the 2013 season on the active roster,or another scenario I see as plausible is if the team continues to lose, Ireland is fired at the end of the year with a big bonus. He could probably go back to being a scout but he himself has stated this will be MY LAST JOB.

Marc, I couldn't agree with you more. If a person doesn't respect Jeff Ireland, that person is just a fair weather fan. No room in the Dolphins tent for people critical of Jeff Ireland.

Oscar they dont need a new stadium they need 53 players suited and all of them give 100 percent effort for 16 games.

dc u talking to me? hope not. ive said from day one moore is nothing more than a backup

With the hiring of a new coaching staff and a losing season as well as the GMs moves made before the season, there are going to be a lot of changes year to year.

Ireland's Republican Army everybody in this proffession is evaluated on wins and losses including your favorite dolphin FO person.

I dont spell very well but so what,I dont get paid to write on here using differnt screen names.Oh you thought I didnt know,WRONG.

Craig M, from yesterday, here's the chink in the armor of your philosophy about pressure making DBs better. First of all, you said our guys looked better with pressure. I'll agree, somewhat, but don't think it was just about the pressure. It was Marshall being out there, not a backup, it was Smith playing better and shutting down the other team's main weapon, and the DBs overall playing better, IN ADDITION to the pressure. Pressure alone won't do it.

But, more importantly to me, you continue to say a shutdown corner is hard to find. I agree. This goes to my draft strategy. Don't pass over players from hard-to-find positions for players who are easier to find. Pass rushers are in every draft, in almost all rounds. But when you have a chance to get a potential great player at a hard-to-find position, DO NOT PASS THAT UP!

Let's review the 2010 Draft, first round, Miami had the #12 pick, traded it, and in return got Odrick & Misi. Role players at best, neither had really made a difference in any game, though Odrick COULD maybe grow. A few picks later though (if we had kept that pick) Seattle drafted Earl Thomas, a Pro Bowl Safety and part of the reason that secondary is elite in the NFL. Would have looked good as a Dolphin, and I remember in that Draft WANTING HIM. He was highly touted, though sure closer to the Draft his stock fell (like they almost all do). But I wanted him because I knew we needed help in the secondary, and it's better to take a chance on a playmaker and game changer than a run-of-the-mill lineman.

Then again, in the 3rd round of that Draft, we took John Jerry. Again, a couple of guys later, Major Wright was taken by Chicago. Do you understand why people question Jeff Ireland's talent acquisition abilities? Those picks (and missed picks) there highlight exactly why. Ireland would rather take chances on linemen than skill position or playmaker/game changer positions. That's exactly BACKWARDS. You take chances on the playmaker positions. You go after that DB or TE or WR or QB because without them, your linemen will be ineffective.

So, I continue to hold my position. If there's a DB out there with equal or greater potential to a pass-rusher at any point in the Draft, I take the DB. Ditto WR. Ditto TE. Let's shore up the holes that have been here for a long time. THEN we can fill in the details (like another pass rusher). We'll be able to find a pass-rusher easier than we will quality players at these other positions (just because that's the history of this team), so let's do the heavy lifting first, then get to the easier tasks.

hey bill conners, no, billcale. I know you know what's up. I'm excited to see if we can get out of our slump today. If we don't win today, it's going to be a long, cold December.

GBye for now the Dolphins have not been competetive in the last two games, any upgrades will not matter anyway because you still have coasters on the field.Ireland let Bell go and traded Marshall and Davis but the effort still isnt there.Lets see if they play like a TEAM that still competes today.

Hey DC; I just posted the facts above. However you want to interpret them is OK with me. I happen to agree with many (non-Miami-fan) national personalities who thought at the end of last season that Matt Moore should have been given the opportunity to start for Miami this year. It didn't happen but takes nothing away from Moore. I'm thinking he gets his chance with another team in 2013.

Now, here, King Shula, less sit down and have a brief discussion. Do you truly believe a Coach would say a Player sucks? If they think of a Player that way, they would say it another way(Egnew is not playing well on STs therefore he won't see the Field, more or less). Same as with Gates, Philbin- "look at Gates he thinks he owns this field"(translation- Gates is dumb as Hell). Etc.

Only beef I have with Ireland is that he picks very dumb/uneducated Players(D. Thomas, Clay, Egnew, Gates, others).

ireland hasnt had success, thats a fact

A good Education can decrease dumbness(increase IQ). That is proven.

Tannehill just went for 28 drives and scored no touchdowns.

Tannehill is currently the worst QB in the NFL on 3rtd down.

Tannehill scored 0 TDs against the worst defense in the NFL, the Buffalo Bills.

Tannehill has now gone 5 games this season scoring 0 Passing TDs.

So with all these facts it is only fair to say,
Home was right, starting the inaccurate rookie QB was a big mistake.

We should have started Matt Moore as he was the solution ,not the problem.

Agree Krishna,
Home was right on Tannehill.
Tannehill should have not been drafted in the first round and even after we drafted Tannehill,he should have been regulated to a baseball cap and clip board.

It has been snowing for many years even when there was dinosaurs,so you cannot create or sterr weather currents now.right!makes sense, don't it!
We had weather in the 1400s right? So HAARP cannot do anything because they did not do it in the 1400s,right?
The had vehicles in the 1800s,so the combustible engines now are not new right.nothing to see here.
Wait to more years, watch tv in NJ and the Dolphins are number one right?

WIlL ^

Agree on benching Tannehill or trading him as this was another bad pick by Jeff Ireland.

I would pay Sean Smith 7 million dollars a year to play here. Sean Smith is great.

Tannehill is great and a very accurate QB.You don't know what you're talking about.
Tannehill is our franchise QB!

Man, if this guy can't spell, he can't be all that Logical. Now, can he?

Duh, my mom makes good meatloaf.

my meatloaf is better,i got the recipe from a some chic on a cooking show.

It IS finished^^^^

LMFAO. Long elected to pro bowl again.

I've been educating you clowns for 3 years that the pro bowl is a legacy vote, not a merit based system.

Will you start to understand that what I say here is always right?

Is it true Tannehill is rated one of the worst 4th quarter quarterbacks in the NFL?
Why does everyone think he is the next Dan Marino?
I watched five games this year with Tannehill starting.
In those five games Tannehill threw 0 touchdown passes.
Zero!

How is that like Dam Marino?

I heard Tannehill was a pass receiver not a quarterback.
Didn't the GM Ireland know this?
Why is Tannehill playing quarterback in the NFL?

Jake Long elected to pro bowl.

Fail forward fast!

Fail forward fast!!!

Stoneydolfan your so right

Did Sean Smith get elected to the Pro Bowl again too?

He is my favorite player and i hope we can get him for only 7 million dollars a year.

Shut Down Sean Smith is great!

Sean Smith is great,i would give him 10 million a year.
Smith has excellent ball skills and everyone is scared of him.
Either that or it is because i have a Napoleonic complex and any corner back that is 6 foot 3 inches is God in my book.

I hate being short and weak with no shoulders.

Ireland is a great GM.
Look at these two great RBs he gave a ton of money to or some draft picks for.
Aren't the amazing!

Reggie Bush’s return to the Dolphins next season continues to look increasingly iffy. Even in games when he doesn’t fumble, he’s playing fewer snaps than Daniel Thomas, partly because of Thomas’ superior pass protection. And Dolphins coaches like how hard Thomas runs.

Thomas has 142 snaps, Bush 94 in the past four games, including the two that Bush was benched a few series for fumbling. Thomas’ 3.3 per carry average is third-worst among qualifying NFL backs and trails Bush’s 4.2. But here's the catch: Bush’s 1.9 average after contact is among the league’s worst, while Thomas is a bit better after being hit (2.1).

i love reading you guys.

Has anyone ever seen D Thomas break a tackle?
Me neither.

"It's really frustrating," said Tannehill, whose 70.8 passer rating ranks 30th in the league.

So,ah,....how's the meatloaf?

Yo guys,
I betcha DT fumbles today!

Marc,

You still need to put points on the board. Don't matter how good your D is if you casn't score.

The genius of Ireland has produced 4 consecutive losing seasons. And no end in sight. Can u say totally incompetent? And Ross is in a coma.

Tannehill is the worst starting QB in the league. We should have learned that Irescum cant draft a QB. Thanks again Irescum.

DC (from earlier today),

I wanted Earl Thomas too. But in my opinion this is one of the things that this defence needs. Jones is OK but Clemmons it very mediocre. When was the last time we had a dominant safety?

But here's where you and differ. Dominant cornerback? I don't believe such a thing exists in todays. NFL. I mentioned Revis as probably the best when he's healthy. But then who? Peterson with the Cards is a nice player. Same with Morris Claiborne. But their defences are still getting lit up every week. Why? Because it's a passing league and the rules now favour the WR. It's no coincidence that you have QBs throwing for over 5,000 yards and many going over 4,000 yards. Partly because there's a lot of good QBs in the league, partly because of the rules. We could add a quality CB and I don't believe you'd notice a huge difference out there. I've seen this team play live and they SORELY need a quality pass rusher. I'm not just talking about adding anybody. I'm talking about one of the top pass-rushers in the draft. Needs to be done.
