Dansby playing with a torn biceps muscle

Karlos Dansby didn't quite hold on to that possible interception a couple of weeks ago and was perhaps half a step late and his arms weren't in proper position to get a possible pick against Buffalo on Thursday.

Maybe that torn biceps muscle that he's been playing with the past three games had something to do with that.

Dansby on Friday broke an unwritten team protocol and probably sent Joe Philbin into something of a panic for announcing on his weekly WQAM radio hit with Jorge Sedano that he's been playing with a torn biceps.

Dansby, who has been listed as probable with a biceps injury the past three weeks, says he suffered the injury against the Jets on October 28.

He's been wearing a brace that helps him play but also limits his range of motion ever since. Other than the missed interceptions opportunities, Dansby's tackles have not suffered significantly.

Dansby further said he plans on continuing his season although some other players have opted to have surgery as soon as they suffer the injury.

No word yet on whether Philbin will talk to Dansby about disclosing the injury. Philbin, in case you missed it, has a blind spot about injuries. He hates discussing them. He doesn't want his players discussing them. It's a thing with him.

So we'll see.

How big is Ryan? Every time I see a picture of him next to other players he looks small. I saw of pic of him standing next to Luck and Luck towered over him.

Just thinking about these tipped balls.

Listen to ME! Because I write like THIS!!! And I must be RIGHT BECAUSE I AM.

So I see earlier Kris was reminding everyone how his superb insight was on the money after the Rams game. He is reminding us that 3 of his last 8399 guesses were correct.

He just disregards his 11-5 comment as though that didn't count, even though that was the comment he has most advertised for MONTHS.

Kris is a shlong.

Finally a Post on the Linebackers!!! But Not the 1 Dashi wanted!!!!

Dansby!!!! IS THE MOST OVERPAID BLOWHARD!!!! IN THE NFL!!!!!!!

THE GUY MAKES EXCUSES!!! WHEN HE SUCKS!!! AND HE CLAIMS HIMSELF TO BE THE BEST LINEBACKER IN FOOTBALL!!!

IF DASHI WAS PHILBIN!!!! DASHI WOULD PUT DANSBY ON IR!!!!! THIS VERY SECOND!!!!

HOW DO U RUN UR MOUTH!!! ABOUT THE INJURIES!!! ON THIS TEAM!!! WHEN I THE HEAD COACH!!! KEEP QUIET!!! FOR UR OWN BENEFIT!!!!!!

U DON'T THINK EVERY TEAM AND THEIR MOTHER!!! WILL THROW ON ONE ARM DANSBY!!! NOW!!

HE'S ALREADY ONE OF THE SLOWEST MLB'S IN THE NFL!!!!

AND IS SCARED TO TACKLE!!!!!!

WHY DOESN'T DANSBY!!! OWN UP TO THE WAY "HIS" DEFENSE PLAYED!!!

A REAL MLB!! TAKES OWNERSHIP OF THE WHOLE DEFENSIVE UNIT!!!! EVEN WITH JT AND ZACH!! IF THE DEFENSE SUCKED!! ZACH WOULD TAKE THE BLAME!! LIKE THE QB DOES WITH THE OFFENSE!!! NOT JT!!!

WHY IS CAM WAKE MAKING TACKLES LB'S ARE SUPPOSE TO MAKE??

AGAIN, DANSBY HAS "ZERO" 10 + TACKLE GAMES AS A DOLPHIN!!! ZACH WOULD AVERAGE AT LEAST 10 A SEASON!!!

DANSBY SUCKS!!! AND BURNETT BLOWS!!!!!

Heheeeeheeeeheeee

Hahhaaahaaahaaa

HumHoHum

hehe

Tannehill is starting to become Henneized! Staring down receivers, poor footwork and pocket performance, batted passes, more INTs, I hope he can snap out of it before he crashes and burns!

I'm ALL IN on Philbin.....

I think his approach is a TIME TESTED

=====================================================

Could you elaborate on his approach? I still don't know what it is.

For example...

Time tested means this is a rebuild year. But everyone in the org says its not.

Time tested means letting Ryan sit and absorb the whole NFL thing for a year. He was not sat.

Time tested is balance. We have no balance anywhere on the team.

Time tested is not reaching for a QB when there are so many other needs. If that was all on Ireland then Philbin has ZERO CONTROL OVER THIS TEAM.

Time tested is Bears, Pittsburgh, Patriots and Green Bay. Why? Because the organizations are class acts from the top down. We are class clowns from the top down.

My Bottom Biatch!!

What!!!! Happened????

The OVERLORD!!!!!! PUT A SQUASH ON UR BLASTING THE LAST BLOG!!!

NOW U WANT TO GET ALL DEFENSIVE!!!

U STILL HAVEN'T ANSWERED THE LORD OF LORDS!!!

WHO'S SNOOKI? AND WHO'S JWOWW?

"Dansby playing with a torn biceps muscle"

So what. So he stinks even worse?

Loserville Express to Oblivion.

BTW--where's the "Ireland has been Magnificent" troll?

This team goes nowhere with Ireland at the helm. Fire him now!!!

odin,

Wake up. Come play :p

The TRUTH is KNOW UR ROLE!!!

Before THE DASHI LAYS THE SMACKDOWN!!

That's The Truth! Truth!

It's NO FUN!! WHEN THE TROLL'S!! ARE SCARED OF U!!!

ODIN KEEP SCORE!!

DASHI 10 TRILLION!! TROLL'S ZERO!! (The Dashi has beaten them worst than the Economy!!)

U STILL NEED ANOTHER COUPLE MORE MILLION TIMES!! BEFORE THE TROLLS FEAR U THIS MUCH!!!

NO WONDER! THE DASHI GETS HATED ON MORE THAN ODIN(It's 50/50)! FOR SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME HERE!!!

YG,

I really like the LBer from ND too. But I see a lot of flaws in your plan. I don't believe Dansby at his age and speed and size would be any good as an OLBer. I also don't think he'd be worth $12.5 mil to play the position. I get that you're in love with this kid and I understand that. I just believe that one of our problems is we don't have enough pass rush. I don't see your plan as helping the pass rush. I'm not saying Dansby is the perfect solution at linebacker and he has his short-comings, I just think we have a lot of holes to fix and like the idea of letting Long go and drafting a RT, I just thinking we're creating a hole where it doesn't have to be created.

Whoa full on fan meltdown going on. Remember when we were saying we are rebuilding and the team was a couple more drafts away from contending. Well that is still the case. Dansby should be put on IR, give some body else a shot for the season.

Hi Dashi!

Darkoak, they should play everyone on the roster. Give them all playing time, we're not in contention for anything. So let Michael Egnew and the rest play. Let's find out if all of Ireland's picks are worth it.

Craig what about?

We don't let Long Go!! Even if its for 1 MORE YEAR!! Long is a Real Dolphin! At the End of The Day!! Unlike Dansby!!

Agreed! Dansby! Is not even good OLB! Material!

So Not making the playoffs and sucking for the rest of the year! Is not a bad thing!! right Now!! 8-8!! Or 9-7! Is the worst that can happen to the fins!! We need young talent!!

Yes! Dashi loves Teo! And would love for him to be a fin!

But dashi is not opposed to going for a dynamic OLB!! Like Mingo! And a MLB! In the Second!Remember 2 of the Top 4 tacklers this year are 2012 2Nd round picks!

We would still need a Top 10 pick! And Dashi believes the Fins would benefit more by going 4-12!! Right Now!! Than 9-7!!

Specially since the Only Good Players Next Years Draft are on D!!

We can answer the Wr question with free agents!! Better talent!!

Twinky.

Don't Hi Dashi! And have nothing else to say. Stop being a Closet Fan!

With that said. Dashi is still 50/50! On Ireland!

Yes he has the team in position to make major moves next year! Specially if we can get another top 10 pick!!

But Ireland is also 50% responsible for what has happened the last 5 years! Not So Cool!!

Yet! Ireland is responsible for Philbin! And I would hate for a New GM to come in and Hire a New Coach!!

So the Ireland subject is Complicated!

Lube up With Mayo for Mantei Te'o!

Umm im pretty sure ross wont can philbin if he fires ireland. I think ross would let philbin have alot of input toward who he would feel comfortable with as new gm.someone who shares his ideas , has a good eye for talent( hopefully) and ultimately knows what type of player fits this system .the less time philbin spends helping with scouting and such is more time he spends on fixing the offense and oline.

Cam Philbin, one and done.

I cant see any decent GM wanting Philbin as the HC.

If the Dolphins take a linebacker in the first round instead of a WR or CB or stud TE, then Ireland is dumber than I thought (which is hard to believe).

THE DOLPHINS NEED TO SCORE MORE POINTS AND GET OFF THE FIELD ON THIRD DOWN. They do not need another front 7 guy.

Yup it is evaluate the whole roster time redsky. I wasn't believing our hype so I'm not down about the losing streak. Now that any playoff thoughts are done(even if we made the playoffs does anyone seriously think we have the total team talent to win it all??) we can play some of th rooks and try to get a handle on what we have for the upcoming draft. So many hole to fill on this roster.

Yeah. Better find a playmaker FA safety(if it can be found) and draft the best WR available; or viceversa.

PHINS 78.......

As many know, Dansby had been implicitly and explicitly warned by Coach Philbin about loose lips when he publicly commented about Chad Johnson's dismissal last August in preseason. In response, Dansby, Jake Long and Reggie Bush approached Joe Philbin about a player's locker room committee to, among other things, air their views in the administrative wing of the Dolphins organization.

There has been a recurring thread recently in this blog about cultural changes in Dolphinland and what effect they may be having upon player performance. Armando's comments about one of Philbin's pet peeves speaks directly to that.

Why has Dansby chosen this week -after 3 miserable Dolphin losses -to announce his injury? Possibly, his frustration over the losses; his frustration over his play may have gotten the better of him. So, will Philbin sanction Dansby?

Certainly Philbin's micromanagement techniques have not been fully digested by the team after the preseason force-feeding. Recent failures on the field can cause backlash and questioning of the Dolphin brain trust by the players. Dansby's public comments may be a symptom of underlying player discord.

billcale, I agree about Philbin starting to lose the team.

Kris, read your comments from last night. And while I respect your opinions, like to interact with you here, I have to say that was one of the most bullsh*t posts I've read here (and quite hypocritical I might add). I remember beginning of PreSeason you saying the Chad Johnson cutting was a blow to Philbin who possibly could lose the locker room. Now you defend Philbin.

This is A GAME. And player's LIVES! Who cares if they get paid millions, if you can't live past 40 something years old, IS ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY WORTH IT? This isn't war. EFFE Philbin (and Belichick and the rest of the HCs) who think it's somehow honorable to hold back information on injuries. If you team sucks that bad that you need to do that to gain an advantage, then maybe you need to rethink your job.

Oh, sure, Philbin is a sympathetic figure because he lost a son, well, guess what, Dansby's someone's son too, someone's husband, father. Do those people deserve to read in the papers how he's not playing up to par, without the knowledge that he has an injury YOU OR NO ONE ELSE ON THIS BLOG COULD PERFORM WITH?

That's BULLSH*T. I'm glad Dansby said something. Makes me understand a little more why he didn't catch those balls. Totatlly changes my view of those plays (and him frankly). This is what Ross was talking about changing. All this damned secrecy for WHAT? 4-6, soon to be 4-9? You're a crap, mediocre franchise, stop thinking you matter to ANYONE IN THE NFL. You don't. And fans should get that through their skulls. WE SUCK, for the foreseeable future.

I was Philbin's biggest defender here. Liked the things he was doing to turn the team towards the future. But first the Reggie thing, now this. I'm starting to have second thoughts. All year I've been on the side of the Coaches, believing they were carrying the light. I'm starting to turn towards the players now. Last time that happened was with Cam Cameron. Joe Philbin, I'd be careful if I was you. You're on shaky ground (forget about me, but if I feel that way, I wonder what's going on in the locker room?).

When you start losing game after game and realize the players in the locker room are playing below average and wanting to be paid like stars of course there are going to be problems in the locker room. We call them cancers and most will probably be gone this offseason. Like I said earlier most of our FA's could probably walk and not be huge losses to the team.

Draft keenan allen first pick...trade back into first for tyler eiffert notredame te...we need playmakers on offense!!!!!!!

Guys what the hell did you really expect this year it seems you all drank the fancy kool-aide this is exactly what everyone expected 5-11 or 4-12 so be patient and enjoy the building of philbins team we are what we are

Truth is we will be picking in the top 5 or so forget signing our own free agents except hartline and maybe Sean smith jake will be tagged so we will have about 38 mil. To sign some free agents I can see us trading back from 5 to 20 and get even more picks then the fun will begin so enjoy it Rome was not built overnight

DC,

Just to sort of follow some of your comments, Phins78 got upset with me yesterday because i called Philbin out. I guess I'm not understanding this mentality that people have that everyone is under the microscope except Philbin and Tannehill. Huh? I don't get that. Isn't everyone accountable? No one is saying get rid of Philbin or Tannehill (at least no one who is sane). What we're doing is questioning people when they need to be questioned.

You and I and others had very low expectations for this team this year. They're not much better than I expected, after a very good start. We knew that Tannehill would struggle at some point and that the team still had holes. We're just seeing the struggles of a team that is not yet very good. I know I'll be in the minority but I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if this team continues to struggle and we get some more good picks in the draft in April. It can't be fixed in one offseason. I think we had a great draft but we're not there yet. I also want to see what we have in Egnew and Miller. It's time!

I have been waiting since 1973 when I was 9 for another Super Bowl what another 4 years

Craig

I'm with you get the kids on the field I also want to see Rishard and Jeff fuller who is on the practice squad lets see the future

Marc,

Check. Amen to that. Let's go!

Ten days to get Egnew ready for Seattle. Haven't seen the kid all year. Why did Philbin sign off on this guy if he had no intention of playing the guy? Seriously, what have the coaches been doing to get this guy ready to play. The kid either has kills or he doesn't. If he doesn't, then why the Hell did we draft him. Fasano's contributing very little. Let's get the kid in there!

I too would like to see a youth movement on the team. Get Egnew, Miller, Mattews and Fuller for reps and experiece on the field. I hardly see how they can do worse. I don't see many vet FA's on the team that have done much on the field we can't live without.

Looks like a late second round pick for vontae davis and a late third for marshall

And with the first pick in the 2013 NFL draft, Jeff Ireland and the Miami Dolphins select Dalton Rabb, Long Snapper, Slippery Rock University...

Sorry that's Dalton Raab, Long Snapper, Slippery Rock University.

CraigM,

Responding to your post on Dansby to me:

I said draft T'eo and kick Dansby to olb simply because no one will take his contract in a trade and if we cut him he walks away smelling like a rose. While we're left empty handed and cap struck.

I understand clamoring for a pass rusher. But, we spent a 3rd for Vernon and the kid could have a breakout year as a pass rusher next season. However, you can never have enough guys that can get to the qb.

Still, I see no pass rushers in this year's crop that are trye beast. Very good on the college level, but none you can truly call great. T'eo seems to be one of those once in every 5-10 yrs to come along mlb's.

Dansby's in his 9th season and will need replacing after a couple more seasons anyway. So why not grab what can possibly become a hof mlb while we have a chance.

Anyway, this entire conversation could be moot anyhow. Because Jeff Ireland almost always see things far differently from dolfans on draft day anyway. He'll probably trade down, grab a few extra picks to land some more draft day acorns, and the 1st rd pick will be a reach for player that makes us all scratch our heads again.

Also have to remember, had Vernon stayed in school, he's probably a 1st rd pass rusher coming out of college in 2013. So we may have gotten our 1st rd pass rusher using a 3rd pick this year.

Just might be 2013 when he begins to breakout and blossom.

Actually, our d-lineman that may be having the most disappointing season of all, is Jared Odrick. As far as having his name called this season he's been virtually invisible.

The 6'7 302lb DE and former 1st rd pick, has 22 tkles and 2 sacks, in 10 games this year. As a 1st rd pick, Im nearly ready to declare him bust.

Our whole team except cam wake is invisible we need help

In comparison Olivier Vernon, a 3rd pick, has 21 tkles, 2 forced fumbles, and 2.5 sacks. This doesnt even include his st's impact.

This is a guy who also isnt a starter on defense.

To get manhandled by buffalo really buffalo geez whiz

Only 3 guys on defense are consistently showing up:

1. Cam Wake
2. Paul Soliai
3. Reshad Jones

The rest show up after the fact or rarely not at all.

The sad thing is the poor effort

I also say sit Odrick and start Vernon. May as well get Vernon ready for next year. Clearly Odrick is under performing at a very high level.

Into his 3rd season, clearly Odrick has become a huge disappointmet. As a 1st rd pick, this should have been his coming out party.

During Odrick's collegiate career he was never chosen to an all american team. Not even 3rd team. His highest accolade was all big ten. He had no business being a 1st rd pick.

I always hated the Odrick 1st rd pick. Now he's proving he had no business being chosen before the 3rd rd. Odrick's a decent 2nd string backup at best. Even that's questionable.

1st Rd Picks nder Parcells/Ireland:

1. Jake Long

Started out great, but now should consider a last name change. "Jake Short".

2. Vontae Davis

Makes me want to call my grandma.

3. Jared Odrick

Did we really use a 1st rd pick on a 3rd rd talent?

4. Mike Pouncey

Like Jake Long great early. We can only keep our fingers crossed.

5. Ryan Tannehill

Was very questionable using an 8th overall pick on this kid. Will have to wait and see once he's surrounded by better offensive talent. But wait, wont Ireland be the guy surrounding him with this? Yikes!

Philbin needs to learn how sit his players instead of having them play and chance furthur injury.

Anyone else notice a disturbing trend? Bush gets injured his productivity vanishes... Ryan Tannehill gets injured and all of a sudden he looks like a rookie over his head... Starks injures his leg and is now invisible... Dansby tears his bicep and can't make easy plays... Disturbing trend to say the least.

I think the coaches are doing a very poor job of managing their players. Go with the next player up and trust that the team will be okay until the starter is 100%.

The Colts really rattled Tannehill that game and his confidence is in shreds now...

for the idiot that said Luck was towering over Tannehill. Tannehill is taller than Luck with his helmet on

http://www.vavel.com/files/images/tannehill_luck_720339588.jpeg

The kid is still learning defenses are filling the box and our wr are getting jammed by press coverage do guys know anything about football we have to stretch the field with 4 or 5 wr sets and hope tannehill does not get killed that the only way to beat this

The question is can the line pass block well enough I think that has been answered they cannot

As far as secondary we have nothing except Rishard jones

DANSBY HAS BEEN AN UTTER DISSAPOINTMENT SINCE HE GOT HERE.. HE WENT FROM GAME CHANGER IN ARZ TO A SERVICEABLE PLAYER HERE... I BET HE IS GONE AFTER THIS YEAR AND THAT IS WHY HE IS TALKING ABOUT HIS INJURY AND MAKING IT LOOK LIKE HE IS A TOUGH GUY
