Karlos Dansby didn't quite hold on to that possible interception a couple of weeks ago and was perhaps half a step late and his arms weren't in proper position to get a possible pick against Buffalo on Thursday.
Maybe that torn biceps muscle that he's been playing with the past three games had something to do with that.
Dansby on Friday broke an unwritten team protocol and probably sent Joe Philbin into something of a panic for announcing on his weekly WQAM radio hit with Jorge Sedano that he's been playing with a torn biceps.
Dansby, who has been listed as probable with a biceps injury the past three weeks, says he suffered the injury against the Jets on October 28.
He's been wearing a brace that helps him play but also limits his range of motion ever since. Other than the missed interceptions opportunities, Dansby's tackles have not suffered significantly.
Dansby further said he plans on continuing his season although some other players have opted to have surgery as soon as they suffer the injury.
No word yet on whether Philbin will talk to Dansby about disclosing the injury. Philbin, in case you missed it, has a blind spot about injuries. He hates discussing them. He doesn't want his players discussing them. It's a thing with him.
So we'll see.

The Dolphins always get rid of their best players just like the Marlins. Da Beast this year, Bush and Dnsby next year. And then they wonder why the staium is empty.

Dashi, fully agree about linebackers... In a 4-3 defense it may be the most important pieces to the puzzle. Dansby got into really good shape this year early. He had a great start. I believe Dansby bout his injury. His brace was enormous. I've never seen such a contraption on a football field ever. Arthur Brown and Jelani Jenkins might be the best linebackers for a 4-3 scheme IMO.

Orton starting for Miami would be a huge upgrade to the current garbage.

===============================
No he wouldn't. He's a failure just as your other golden boy Brady Quinn has turned out to be.
I couldn't care less who is offended. You people act as if you have actual answers and insight. The TRUTH of the matter is the polar opposite of that.
You are clueless and your only "connection" to the Miami Dolphins or the NFL is via your fat butts planted on a couch drinking beer.

I'm With Craig,
Talking Long vs Ryan is Futile!!
NOW THE REAL QUESTION!! IS IN THE EPIC SCREW UP!!! NICK SABAN DID!!!
1 OFFSEASON!! HE PASSED ON BREES!!! AND A.RODGERS!!!
FOR CULPEPPER AND R.BROWN!!
RICKY WAS COMING BACK!! HE JUST DIDN'T WANT TO PLAY FOR WANNSTEDT!!!

Ross was too cheap to pay Orton...or Matt Flynn. Heck, even Tannehill had to hold out to get a fair deal from cheapskate Ross. Ross wont pay for good players, period. He wont even pay for a good GM. Part of the reason we stink and have no talent.
Posted by: Harmel | November 17, 2012 at 12:44 PM
Bacari Rambo is a ballhawk! And he played with Reshad Jones at Georgia. Bulldog connection. Some of Rambo's interceptions were things of beauty.
Posted by: beerphin | November 17, 2012 at 12:44 PM
Dashi I heard that Saban wanted Brees over Culpepper and that is part of the reason he left.

all this TALK is FUTILE....
but we do it any way......

Beerphin,
Dansby Might Have a Strained Bicep! Partial Tear. But A FULL TEAR!!! Doubt IT!
Some People Answer their Own Questions(Not U BP). IF PHILBIN HAS SHOWN THAT HE TAKES INJURIES TO HIS PLAYERS VERY SERIOUS!!!!!
Why Would he Play with Dansby's Health?
Common Sense!! Would Say Dansby Is Just Complaining(Making Excuses)!! For His Horrendous Play!!! To Make People Forget about his PreSeason Promise!!!
Dashi Doubts Dansby even Gets 100 Tackles This YEAR!! SPECIALLY NOT NO 150!!!
Posted by: Dashi | November 17, 2012 at 12:49 PM
Heck I'd take Brady Quinn or Kyle Orton over Hennehill. They wouldnt be any worse then 32nd in the league!

Yeah, I can see where you're not offended, lol.
By the way, if you're going to going to call someone "dumb" you might want to elevate your third-grade grasp of the English language and learn the difference between 'your' and 'you're.'
(In the meantime, what you guys know about football or assessing the future prospects of a given player would fit in a thimble)

Dashi I heard that Saban wanted Brees over Culpepper and that is part of the reason he left.
Posted by: beerphin | November 17, 2012 at 12:46 PM
=========================================
Not even close to accurate.
Culpepper was signed because both the Dolphins team doctors AND an independent orthopedic surgeon assessed both players and determined (wrongfully, as it turned out) that Culpepper was far less of an injury risk than Brees.
Saban left because he hated the pro game and his wife intensely disliked living in South Florida.

beerphin,
Now you're talking my language. Tell me more about this safety from Georgia and where he might go in the draft. This kind of stuff gets me excited, rather than talking about what should have happened four years ago.
Posted by: Craig M | November 17, 2012 at 01:03 PM
Karlos does his job well enough for the Dolphins to win. We need to draft a WR,CB and TE.
Posted by: BIM | November 17, 2012 at 01:04 PM
Tell me where you guys are ANY different than the fans in Tampa who were howling for Josh Freeman to be benched and how much of a "bust" he was?
The same Josh Freeman, by the way, who is on pace to throw for over 4000 yards and has better than a 2-to-1 TD/int ratio this year.
I'm asking that seriously. You want to BELIEVE you have some special insight but you simply do NOT. And never will.
If that offends, tough. It remains true.

2013 MIAMI DOLPHINS THATS GONNA BE YOUR BEST BET AND ITS ALL GOOD. LOOK ALL THE DOLPHINS NEED IS ANOTHER DRAFT ANOTHER ROUND OF FREE AGENCY AND ANOTHER PRESEASON . THEN THE 2013 version of the Dolphins take the field. 11-5 next year All will be ok.

Bacarri Rambo is 2nd or 3rd rd pick. He was suspended earlier for a failed drug test not sure for what but he has contributed nicely since 2 picks and almost 9 tackle/ avg. Last year he would have been taken right around Harrison Smith. His junior year he came back from a terrible injury and had some really impressive interceptions. He attacks the ball in the air. He's compared to Ed Reed in that regard.

Tannehill is far worse then Henne. The numbers show it. Philbin should be fired for leaving team MVP Moore on the bench.

I think the players have lost confidence in both Tannehiil and Philbin.

Time to really rebuild. Not "retool" or "tweak some things." On offense we can't run the ball & we can't pass protect. Our O-line has completely broken down & it's only a matter of time before they get Tannehill killed. For those wanting to see Matt Moore play you're probably going to get your wish b/c as tough as Tannehill his the protection is just abysmal. Not even sure how this team won four games this year??? Based on the way Long has played this year I don't know how his agent can ask the Dolphins for anything more than the NFL minimum with a straight face. And the purpose of the "franchise tag" is to preserve your "franchise player" or at worst one of your best players. Jake Long is no longer that or anywhere close to that. Done. End of story.
Not sure how Ireland can survive with four straight losing seasons even though this draft may turn out to be his best. Not sure if Ross will care at this point. Another losing season & Ireland is out of excuses. With the cap space we'll have after this year we can actually have a chance to FINALLY build this team correctly if we can bring in a competent GM to work with Philbin.
I'd definitely re-sign Hartline, Starks, & Smith (who played pretty damn well Thursday). Not sure what I'd do about Clemons but I'd gladly say adios to everyone else.

"Karlos does his job well enough for the Dolphins to win. We need to draft a WR,CB and TE."
And a Tackle & two Guards. Not sure if Martin can be a LT b/c after the way he played on Thursday I don't know if he's good enough to be a RT. This O-line is horrible.

And a QB.
Posted by: Zonk | November 17, 2012 at 02:11 PM
I don't follow college ball really close so I'd like you guys to fill in what I consider our biggest NEEDS for this draft with players we might actually be able to get based on our draft position. Here goes...
WR - Must be able to outrun a defender and warrant a double team, vertical threat.
FS - Great instincts and one on one cover skills.
CB - Shutdown cover artist
MLB - Side to side field general with ability to cover a TE.
OLB - Someone who can stop the run and bring the heat
WR - Large target with good hands and jumping ability who runs tight routes.
O-lineman - Need young players pushing starters for playing time.
TE - Find a project that can at least block
OLB - High motor who can play special teams.
Those are the immediate needs as I see them.
Posted by: Darkoak | November 17, 2012 at 02:14 PM
We need to see this team show improvement, and at the moment they appear to be regressing.

Dansby and Solai are our best players on D. The Jests fans on here want to get rid of Long, Bush, and Dansby.
Posted by: mike | November 17, 2012 at 02:35 PM
I'm not big on Dansby. He just doesn't play like his contract warrants. We should be discussing his big plays every week for that money. He actually hurts us more than he helps us in the rebuilding context cap wise. Solai is worth what he is paid and I like mammoth DT's in the 4-3.

Many have commented on its size and have been impressed by Coughlin's pride in it.

Posted by: Dolphin 77 | November 17, 2012 at 02:46 PM
Tired of the long vs. ryan crap. At the time our line was horrible. What does it matter if we picked matt or not? Without time to throw a qb is worthless...ask david carr.I dont know how matt ryan got nicknamed ice. Everybig game I saw him in he threw pick after pick.Last time a white hearguy was named ice it didnt end so well.hear me vanilla? Ryan is 6'5 and an average arm at best. And cant throw outside of a dome. And you ummm fans football still clamor for him? Unreal.
Posted by: Sammo | November 17, 2012 at 02:46 PM
True Sammo, Long was considered a franchise LT in the Orlando Pace or John Ogden mold that never become free agents so you only get one by drafting them.

The Falcons took off after they drafted Matty "Ice" Ryan while the Dolphins still wallow in the cellar since picking Jake Long. But hey, lets ignore the facts and the records, and rationalize stuff so it doesnt feel so awful.

Yes he was darkoak. I know others have said it but say we go ryan over long.Who protects matt? Clady was taken up by denver and baker went to atlanta in the second. That was pretty much it at tackle and im not even sure if baker still starts for the falcons. So it was franchise LT or free agent LT. And any knowledgeable fin fan knows how free agent tackles have worked out for miami.
