Dansby playing with a torn biceps muscle

Karlos Dansby didn't quite hold on to that possible interception a couple of weeks ago and was perhaps half a step late and his arms weren't in proper position to get a possible pick against Buffalo on Thursday.

Maybe that torn biceps muscle that he's been playing with the past three games had something to do with that.

Dansby on Friday broke an unwritten team protocol and probably sent Joe Philbin into something of a panic for announcing on his weekly WQAM radio hit with Jorge Sedano that he's been playing with a torn biceps.

Dansby, who has been listed as probable with a biceps injury the past three weeks, says he suffered the injury against the Jets on October 28.

He's been wearing a brace that helps him play but also limits his range of motion ever since. Other than the missed interceptions opportunities, Dansby's tackles have not suffered significantly.

Dansby further said he plans on continuing his season although some other players have opted to have surgery as soon as they suffer the injury.

No word yet on whether Philbin will talk to Dansby about disclosing the injury. Philbin, in case you missed it, has a blind spot about injuries. He hates discussing them. He doesn't want his players discussing them. It's a thing with him.

So we'll see.

I'll also ask our South Florida media to get to the bottom of this. Mando, you and your cohorts need to hit the trail to try and expose the truth here. I know the DC sports media leaves no stone unturned when it comes to their football team, even against the wishes of the team. They do it for their fans, who want to know. Well, us Dolphins fans want to know if Dansby has a torn bicep or if he's lying to hurt the HC. That will be extremely informative to how we look at our situation and what we think needs to be done in the future.

john, I agree. Yet you'll see many here who are much more behind Jake Long then they are Reggie Bush.

Maybe just my own personal bias, but I'm not for saving Jake Long at the risk of not upgrading positions of GREATER need (IMO). If you can do both, great. If not, I'd rather have a ProBowl WR, TE, RB and a serviceable or good LT. I don't know many successful teams where the LT is the best player on offense.

Say fairwell to jake and his hefy payroll times they are a changing time to move forward go dolphins

Don't get me wrong I love jake but he is just not playing well , none of the o line is!!!o line plays better and then you will see the backs, the QB will be better!!! The QB has no time back there and he can't react properly and the holes are not opening for the backs if you think for one minute that Reggie is not trying hard then you don't know the guy at all. I'm telling you O LINE GETS BETTER THE WHOLE OFFENSE GETS BETTER AND IF YOU SHORE UP A GREAT WIDE OUT AND ANOTHER GREAT TIGHT END YOU WILL SEE A BETTER OFFENSE. THE WHOLE LEAGUE KNOWS TO COVER HARTLINE AND BESS PUT ANOTHER GREAT WIDE RECIEVER AND ANOTHER TIGHT END OPPOSITE FASANO AND YOU WILL SEE BETTER OFFENSE BUT THE O LINE NEEDS TO WAKE UP

I pray that the staff and front office continue to build this team the proper way time to loose all these bad contracts and cut ties with progress stoppers that are on this roster we all know who they are so I won't say there names

This upcoming draft and free agency can set us up quite nicely so let's do it

The tenn. vols fired there coach so a lot of their jr.s will come out they have two wr s that will enter the draft

Philbin reminds me of Cam Cameron. He's already lost the locker room. Hope he's gone with Ireland after the season.

Yes and no john. I didn't see Tannehill pressured that much vs. Bills. He just straight up missed (NFL) open receivers. There were plays (that pass to Clay, an over-the-top pass to Hartline who had a few steps on the defender, etc.) that were more on Tannehill than the oline or anybody else.

But generally I agree, the oline is not playing up to par (including Pouncey). That Javorskie Lane run at the 1 yd line was embarrassing. They got absolutely no push (besides the fact that he's not a very good short distance runner). They need to step it up. And really, if they can't perform under Sparano, and now Philbin, that probably reflects poorest on the GM.

Probably not going to happen Scotty. I don't know ANY team in the NFL that has been good after so much turnover. You need some continuity. You can't keep switching HCs, QBs, strategies, etc. Simply for that fact, I'm almost 100% sure Philbin will stay as HC, Tannehill will stay at QB (and probably even Ireland as GM). Ross will be patient and see if they can turn things around in the next 2-3 years (IMHO).

Has odin finally been banned? This blog is SO much better without his nonsense polluting it.

Tannehill is the biggest progress stopper. No accuracy, lots of batted passes and inability to make a play when he needs to. He's had good pass protection and he still is not a passing threat. Opposing D's concentrate on stopping our run game and arent worried about Tannehill's passing. Time to let team MVP Moore off the bench because Tanny doesnt have it.

Philbin still has not lost the team the talent just isn't up to par

DC, I'm sure Ireland is gone after the season. It'll be up to the new GM whether or not Philbin stays.

Fin 84

You just don't get it do you these rookies are our future they need to learn a progress stopper is an overpriced vet. That underperforms aka jake long reggie bush rich incognito Richard Marshall those are progress stoppers

I know the team lacks talent but I also think Philbin is losing the team. We will know soon enough.

Scotty, I agree if there's a new GM, there's likely to be a new HC. And because I don't believe Ross wants to get ANOTHER HC 2nd year in a row, he'll have no choice but to keep Ireland. Plus he respects Ireland and trusts him. So prepare to be disappointed. Just trying to prepare you. Ireland will be the GM next year (by the way, I'm not taking a position whether that's the right move or not, I'm just giving you my reading of the situation and prediction).

You don't fire a coach after year 1 of a rebuild that is counterproductive that would make us the Cleveland browns is that what you want please stop

Guys, this "fire Philbin" stuff is beyond moronic.

Seriously, thinking like that isn't part of the real world at all. It's the product of these tiny, bizarre little bubbles (like this blog) that some fans put themselves into where they become completely detached from reality and common sense.

Joe Philbin is absolutely staying on as coach. Any suggestion otherwise is completely ludicrous and quite frankly stupid. You simply cannot run a franchise by capriciously blowing it all up and starting all over every year.

Furthermore, I'd like to know how anyone has ascertained that Philbin has 'lost the locker room?' Are you there? Are you privy to some indie information?

Or is the truth that you will NEVER be inside the Miami Dolphins locker room or any other? That you have ZERO actual connection to the team and players? That as close as you will EVER be to being an 'insider' is sitting in front of your TV set?

C'mon. Enough of the nonsense. Can we talk about the Dolphins here from the perspective of the real world?

Anyone with eyes knows Tannehill is not the future any more then Henne was the future.

DC,

All great points!!!

We know the SFLA Media!! (Hint)

Won't get to the bottom of this!! They Love writing Propaganda!! Not Fact based articles!!

Also!! It's like they are scared of LINEBACKERS!!! Punks!!

Notice! We ALL KNOW DANSBY IS PLAYING SUBPAR!!! AND The Only Post Written on him! Is Him saying he's hurt! Shame!!!

They REPEAT THE SAME 4 ARTICLES EVERY WEEK! TALK ABOUT THE QB!! TALK ABOUT THE COACH! TALK ABOUT THE OFFENSE IN GENERAL!! AND TALK ABOUT THE SECONDARY!!!

OVER AND OVER AGAIN!! 1001 Times!!

DC,

What I'm trying to say. (Let me see If I get it right)

Coaches don't talk about injuries for their player safety!! Injury reports!! STILL EXIST!! AND ALL NFL TEAMS!! MUST LIST INJURIES!! ON THE REPORT!!

I WOULD LIKE TO BELIEVE IT'S A NEW RULE IN THE CBA!! COACHES CAN'T TALK ABOUT INJURIES!! (Not 100%", But pretty sure it is. Can someone confirm?)

With that said!!! Philbin has proven!! If ur hurt U don't play!! Even with Dansby!! NOW THE COACH IS CHANGING THE RULE!! BECAUSE OF 1 PLAYER!! Ur hurt! U sit! Philbins philosophy!!

UR SAYING!! THE COACH DOESN'T TREAT DANSBY!! THE SAME WAY HE TREATS!! THIIL, BUSH, LONG, Hartline! AND ANY OTHER PLAYER THAT HAS BEEN HURT!! UNDER PHILBIN!!!

IF DANSBY SAYS THAT!! DURING SPORANO!! I WILL BELIEVE HIM!! AND EVEN THEN!! DID JAKE COMPLAIN OR CRY!! WHEN SPO WAS DESTROYING HIS SHOULDERS!! (Stop acting like a little girl dansby)

LIKE KRIS SAID!! IF DANSBY REALLY DID HAVE A TORN BICEP!! AND THE TEAM DIDN'T REPORT IT!!!

THE NFL!! WOULD PUNISH THE FINS QUICKER THAN THEY DID THE SAINTS!!! REMEMBER!! THE NFL IS BEING SUED!! BECAUSE OF PLAYER SAFETY!! THAT KIND OF NEGLIGENCE!! WILL BE DEALT WITH SWIFTLY!!

I believe!! Dansby is just trying to act like porter!!

Dashi Theory!!

Dansby was the Reason we started 0-7!! Last year!! His Play!! Sabotaged the team!! Because he didn't like Soprano or Henne!!

Notice!! Once Henne got hurt!! The Defense Started Playing!! And The Fins Started Winning!!!

U matt Moore fans!!!! Forget to realize!!! Yes, Henne lost all 6 last year!! But he threw for more yards in 6!! Than Moore In 10!!! Look it up!!! The Defense was just sabotaging the games!!

Particularly the GUY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WHOLE DEFENSE WHILE ON THE FIELD!!

I'm not saying tannehill is the man or our great future I'm just saying he will go nowhere without protection. And when we were playing well everyone loved him. The kid hasn't been a QB for very long. And I wouldn't complain at all if they put Moore in I like him. I just think the O LINE is a big problem

Marc, I wish we were the Cleveland Browns. They beat us the last 3 times we played them.

Cut him cut all the dead wood get it over with

Hi there Dashi!

Scotty

That sez it all man YOU WISH WE WERE THE CLEVLAND BROWNS god help you man

I'm out later dudes

If Hennehill is the future WE HAVE NO FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I normally wouldn't recommend random hookups because of the risks involved but last night at work I met this cute guy named Brian who turned out not only to be a Dolphins fan but also super cool, smart, and hot.

We got pretty flirty right off the bat and one thing led to another, lol. Hopefully it's the start of something long-term but even if not I guess I owe the Dolphins a big THANKS for a fun night!!

Cleveland's better then us arent they? I know they always beat us.

Cincinnati just beat the Giants, too. Killed 'em, actually. So I suppose that means the Bengals are better than the World Champions, right?

Please stop with the Browns stuff, Scotty. For your own sake. It doesn;t make you look too bright, friend.

Who cares if the other team knows who's hurt? Dashi said if they are REALLY hurt, they won't be out there (because they are liabilities).

==================================================

So when I suggested David wasn't hurt it was wrong, according to you? When I suggested they handed Tanne the job instead of having true competition it was wrong, according to you? When I suggested David basically opted out, blamed a fantasy injury, it was way way wrong? Why is it plausible for Dansby to fake an injury but not for Garrard to fake an injury.

And if David faked the injury then why did he do it? Because Ireland wants so much to prove everyone wrong about his inability to draft talent. So he started the rookie trying to save his job.

My case...rested. Put to bed. This board will say and do anything to lick the nut sack of Jeff Ireland.

I was at the last Dolphin- Browns game. Yes they beat us on our home turf.

Congratulations Steve c---woo hoo!!

Dashi, interesting points. We'll see if they get to the bottom of any of this.

enough is enough, did you hear that Cameron lost the locker room in '07? Where'd you hear that (if you did)? Did you hear about the bus ride, where he got into it with a couple of the defensive players (can't remember who, I think the NT and a LB)? If so, where'd you hear that? Exactly, it was reported. Which is how ANY FAN in ANY CITY hears inside information (either that or through players). Not saying you have to believe it, but that's how people HEAR about internal team issues. Your post seemed to reflect your lack of knowledge of that.

I'll speak for myself, I'm not saying Philbin LOST the locker room. What I am saying is he needs to be careful, because reports I'm hearing are things that cause a HC TO lose A locker room. And respected, long-time HCs generally don't lose locker rooms, or not as fast as rookie, untested HCs. Which is what Philbin is right now. So, I'm saying to Philbin, "Be careful, be mindful, and keep your eyes open to proactively scuttle any issues before they consume you." That's something a fan should absolutely be telling their HC at this point. Anyone who gives ANY rookie HC in THIS franchise 100% faith is an idiot (having the experience of what past Coaching staffs have done here, which is next to nothing). Trust BUT VERIFY, that's the best approach any Miami fan could have.

Where have all the dolphins fans gone you people are a bunch of school girls this is football dudes

Ooooooh I saw Lauren tannehill shopping at Gucci wowwwwww holy crap enough already

Monte, they beat us 3 in a row. And Dolphin fans are not in a position to laugh at any team especially a team we cant beat. IMHO.

Hey, you spend your Sundays watching young, athletic guys in spandex pants grappling with each other, lol.

Just sayin'

Scotty I'm with ya. Some people must think we are still the 1973 team. They're still in denial on how bad this team is. Got to realize 9 of our 10 games were against horrible teams.

Anyway, I'm out gonna watch some football. Later.

Huh JackSparrow, I can't even make your post out? So you said David Garrard faked an injury so that Ireland could save his job by putting in Tannehill? Re-read that and tell me if that sounds like the stupiest thing you've EVER HEARD IN YOUR LIFE.

Let me answer your questions. Yes, it's NOT unconceivable that Dansby would fake an injury to hurt a HC he may not like. He's acted out this year and given examples that he's not fully on board with what Philbin is doing. He questioned the Chad Johnson cutting. He questioned the Reggie Bush benching.

Now, to Garrard. He's new to this team. There is absolutely ZERO history he's shown to be against this Coaching staff. And nothing in his history that said he was capable of being a disrupter. Also, HE HAD SURGERY! And he's right now looking for a job, which means he wants to play in the NFL. I think if anyone saw PreSeason, they'd agree he WOULD HAVE BEEN the starter if he stayed healthy. He was given all the 1st team snaps. He started the 1st PS game.

So what you said is just unfactual as well as ridiculous. Two totally separate and unrelatable situations. One is hypothetically possible, the other is just a conspiracy theory by a deranged individual.

After the TEAM the WHOLE TEAM lost their third game by 3 points to the Colts they have lost the notion that they are playing for more than a paycheck. They convinced THEMSELVES they they were a playoff team and they overachieved as a TEAM although they played well enuff to win they lost. Now they realize that their are only 6 games this year NO MORE.I think they need to clean house and play with a young team no veterans that come from other teams and get huge signing bonuses to play at an average level. This is the year to do it and build a team that are all young.Ross has to realize that the casual fan is not going to the games anyway is they are losing.Keep the few veterans that the leadership thinks can adapt to a youthful team and keep them, trade everyone else for picks unless they get guaranteed money which is a problem nowadays in cutting ties with players that the team will still have to pay.

You guys spend WAAAY too much time on this blog coming up with outlandishly bizarre and comically stupid conspiracies/theories.

Seriously, get outside and take a deep breath. It's not healthy.

First the last time i checked golden tate is no elite wr and lynch is average at best and someone said edwards. Get real edwards has no place in that offense so your point is pointless. Cleve same thing. Cribbs? Not really. So tannehill sucks because other qbs are getting it done with just as much or lesser talent. As far as irrland there is no way that clown is still there. This is his final year of his contract and that loser is gone

I AM GLAD A SQUIRREL HAS NEVER RUN INTO MY HOUSE BECAUSE IF ONE DID I WOULD TRAP IT AND BURN IT WITH LIT CIGARETTES AND THEN SMASH ONE OF ITS LEGS WITH A HAMMER AND POKE ITS LEFT EYE OUT WITH A PEN AND STICK PINS IN IT BEFORE I LET IT BACK OUTSIDE.

Benching the face of the team(Reggie)after one turnover was infantile on Philbins part. Allowing a crap rookie QB to play after 4 turnovers is a slap in the face to Reggie and to Incognito. Its no wonder the vets arent happy with Philbin.

In short, Matt Moore should be starting or Devlin or bring Garrard back

DC,

Agreed. In the losing of the locker room. That also happens! When U have players! That aren't team guys! Good Soldiers! Bush and Long!! Are Good Soldiers!

Dansby is a mercenary!!

I Give Sporano Credit with that! Most the players on this team have good character!! Integrity!!!

Except Dansby!! And the other 2 Philbin got rid of!!

Jack,

Are u talking to Dashi?

Cause All Ur questions? U Answered Urself!

Garrard Was Hurt!! Remember he had surgery!! T-Hill did Win The QB Job!! This isn't Boxing!! Where the guy with the title is his to lose!!

Matt MOORE WAS THE FOURTH BEST QB ON THE TEAM DURING PRESEASON AND TC!!

U MORONS!! HAVE NO SENSE OF REALITY!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

OH AND P.S. Twinky and The other Troll!! Odin has posted a Couple times!! It's just when he does what u 2 clowns are always doing! He talks football!! Not just Men!! U 2 blowhard! Sword Swallower's!!

U don't have to be THE Overlord! To know that!

77, Marshawn Lynch is average at best? Dude, you need to check the stats, because right now he's the LEAGUE RUSHING LEADER! That's better than average. That's the best RB in the league right now.

hey Jack I like your thought process on everything except Delvin

A good example of what's wrong with the Dolphins can be seen in the Thursday night game vs Buffalo.

I like Devon Bess. Many do. He has talent -as many Dolphins do -but his motivation on game day is questionable.

In the game Thursday night, Tannehill's 1st interception looked like a perfectly thrown pass to Devon Bess. A catch would have been about a 35 yard pickup and put the Dolphins in field goal range. Jairus Byrd's pick was a great play but only because Bess pulled up in order to avoid a collision with Byrd. The video shows Bess originally following the ball but at the last second, looking directly at Byrd and making moves to avoid the collision.

Bess's responsibility is to (1)catch the ball; (2) insure the defensive guy doesn't get the ball. Bess did neither, electing to protect his body rather than going for the ball.

It is this lack of motivation -playing without heart -that seems to make it look like the Dolphin talent is so thin.

The players and coaches were both up for the 2nd Jets game so we know when they are motivated, they are capable of putting the hurt on many teams.

(scroll to middle of page and click video. there are 3 replays in sequence with the 3rd showing the best)

DC, Hartline was the leading receiver at one point did that make him the best WR in the league? cmon you should be smarter than that

Billcale,

Agreed. During that play I was thinking the same thing!! If Bess would've kept running Full Speed! 1 it would be harder for Byrd to locate the ball! And 2! Bess could've broke up the pass. It Doesn't help he turned the wrong way for the ball either!!

Bess is the best Wr!! On this team!! By a Long Shot!! But on Any other Team!! He would be a Great #3!! The Slot WR!!

It's pointless!! To Argue! T-Hill sucks! He doesn't have weapons!! Next year! If we get a Dynamic Wr and a TE!! And he sucks!! Then go right ahead!!

Till then STFU!!!!!

DCDolfan you better check your ststs again, because adrian peterdon is the leagues leading rusher!

Agreed Bess was partly to blame on that play (while also recognizing it was a GREAT play by the Bills DB) but he has been fearless and tough-as-nails the vast majority of the time. A slot WR in the NFL won't last long if they're not willing to take a punding, and Bess has done so continually.

I think it's fairly ludicrous to extrapolate that one play into some weird theory about his motivation or heart.

It really is possible to overthink this stuff, guys. And I think this is a pretty good example of that.

(by the way, where are the Matty Ice fans right now? 3 int's in the first quarter alone)

HAS YOU EVER PUT DOTS ON KITTY CATS?!? THEY GET MAD WHEN YOU DO THAT AND THEN THEY POO!

I'm hearing as many excuses for Tannehill as I heard for Henne. We got Henne lots of help (Long, Pouncey,Incognito,Bush, Marshall) and how'd that work out? LOL. Tannehill is WORSE then Henne. He's not a pro QB. Move him to WR or try and get a 3ed rd pick for him if we can.

Philbin is not honest about the teams injuries. Brian Biggane on the Palm Beach post called him out for it early(Hartline) and the herald is now confirming that. The Dolphins have alienated their fans and media alike. How about a Q&A with Ireland? HAHA

It is evident to me the Dolphins are in a chrysalis-like state. There is form and ample talent beneath the evidentiary surface yet it is still youthful and embryonic at this stage of progression.

As such, it is both logical and perfectly reasonable that the team, at times, would look confused and overwhwelmed. This is not stasis or slippage but rather a quite normal set of circumstances given the parameters of experience and talent available. It is my belief that the inevitable consequence of this will be a fairly rapid ascent as early as next year albeit it with the singular caveat that some additional introductions of talent (possible through draft and free agency) shall be necessary to propel things forward at a more rapid and consequential rate.
