INDIANAPOLIS -- Tony McDaniel is inactive for today's game.
That's it. That is all the damage the Dolphins have to report.
RyanTannehill is starting. Brian Hartline is starting. Everything is fine, folks. The Miami inactives are Pat Devlin, Richard Marshall, Josh Kaddu, Will Yeatman, Michael Egnew, and Anderson Russell
McDaniel, as you know, is nursing a knee injury.
Rishard Matthews is active for the first time this season.
For the Colts, running back Donald Brown is active but Vick Ballard will start. Brown had his surgically repaired left knee swell on Friday and could not play today.
As every game, we will celebrate a live blog today during the game. It starts at kickoff in the comments section. See you there.

McDaniel is a loss but not a big loss. There are lots of guys there who can step in and fill the role. Gives guys like Shelby and Vernon a chance to step up. McDaniel was good to give the starters a rest. Womder how much we'll see from Matthews today. I like this kid.
Anyone know who this guy Russell is and where he came from? When did we get him?

Fins will Win!

Craig,
Even that Rookie DT! F.Kearse? Or Something like that?
Odrick Plays inside anyway! So OV CAN SEE THE FIELD AS A DE!
McDaniels is another one that will be saying BYe-BYe! After the Season! The fins are paying him Starter Money! For What?
Interesting R.Matthews will get play time! And L.Miller!
EXPECT A LOT OF RUNNING!! NO DANCING! JUST HARD NOSE RUNNING!

Craig,
McDaniel is a valuable player & has always made our defense better. McDaniel is a DT & Vernon & Shelby are DE's. With McDaniel out we'll see more of the rookie Kheeston Randall.
As for Russell he was here through training camp & then we put on the Practice Squad. My guess is that some team tried to poach him so we elevated him to the 53 man roster but not the game day roster.

FINS gettin real coverage on NFLM....
Posted by: Kris | November 04, 2012 at 12:12 PM
The only McDaniel that was any good was Wahoo McDaniel playing for the Jets a long time ago. He was also a pro wrestler.
Posted by: Shula 73 | November 04, 2012 at 12:15 PM
Shula 73 even the Dolphins in 73 were beatable in the regular season. In fact only TWO teams in the modern super bowl era were unbeatable my guess is that Homer Jones can get the answer.

Dashi,
He's been hurt this year BUT if you've been watching this defense since we traded a 7th round pick for him in 2009 he's been an extremely solid player for us.
If you're simply looking at stats like tackles & sacks then you're not correctly assessing the play of interior lineman. The primary job of a DT or a NT is to clog & disrupt the middle so the LB's can get clean tackles. That's why when you look at Starks & you see him making impact plays like sacks & INT's in addition to his primary job it makes you realize why he's so valuable & easily one of the best 4-3 DT's in the game.

Hi from Puerto Rico Armando!
Posted by: luis from PR | November 04, 2012 at 12:36 PM
Armando,
How much do you expect we'll see Matthews today? I would expect we'll see a bit more of Gaffney today.
Do you think we'll see Egnew at all before the end of the year or does it depend whether the team is still in playoff contention or not?
Posted by: Craig M | November 04, 2012 at 12:41 PM
going to have to change my name after this game
Posted by: wish we didn't suck | November 04, 2012 at 12:42 PM

When Dolphins are winning you dont hear many comments about Ireland needs to defired or Ross should sell the team
Posted by: luis from PR | November 04, 2012 at 12:43 PM
como estas, Luis?
Posted by: Armando Salguero | November 04, 2012 at 12:43 PM
I don't remember this ever happening but we're going to have SEVEN starters that will be FA's after this season;
1) Long
2) Bush
3) Hartline
4) Fasano
5) Starks
6) Smith
7) Clemons

Hi Armando...Another Sunday...another Blog ...another game to win !!!!
Posted by: Tony in Miami | November 04, 2012 at 12:44 PM
Craig, Matthews plays if the Dolphins go 5 wide.Even then, that would be four-five plays most.
Egnew? Not unless someone gets hurt this year.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | November 04, 2012 at 12:45 PM
Armando:
Hope you watched a little of our first round pick for next year, Marquis Lee. The guy was awesome, even in a losing effort. If he had a QB with a real arm he might have done even more damage. I like Woods too for that team. Any chance either one of them could be had next year? Oh, and I almost forgot, the Jets Suck.
Posted by: RexRyan Sucks | November 04, 2012 at 12:45 PM
Mando! PHINS will dominate the Colts!
No excuses. We better than they are your comments!
Posted by: ray | November 04, 2012 at 12:46 PM
Ray muy bien aqui en un sports bar para ver juego Go Dolphins!
Posted by: luis from PR | November 04, 2012 at 12:46 PM
Armando,
Do you expect a full contribution from Hartline today or will he be limited? Should the team be cautious with him?
Posted by: Craig M | November 04, 2012 at 12:46 PM
Kris in blue, was kris in blue earlier. Another case of name changing. Wasn't it about this time last year he blamed his name change on a malfunctioning keyboard and a difficult mouse?
He never quite explained that one so I don't imagine he will explain this one.

Mando,
We have seven starters who will be FA's after this season so don't you think it MIGHT be a good idea to address one or two of those players now rather than risking them leaving for FA in March???
Posted by: We Have RB's | November 04, 2012 at 12:47 PM
I must have missed your pick for this week, Armando. I'm taking the Colts to win this week. I think our picks are identical this year, assuming you picked the Dolphins last week (missed your pick on that one too).
Posted by: Craig M | November 04, 2012 at 12:48 PM
Armando muy bien y siempre leyendo tus articulos de los Dolphins y siguiendo este blog....Gracias por saludo!!!
Posted by: luis from PR | November 04, 2012 at 12:48 PM
We should resign Long, Starks and Smith for sure. Bush, only if the money is right. Say so long to Clemons, Fasano and Hartline, unless they sign for reasonable money.
Posted by: RexRyan Sucks | November 04, 2012 at 12:48 PM
There are two games between teams with winning records in the NFL today. And this is one of them.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | November 04, 2012 at 12:48 PM
Armando Egnew looks like a very but a very bad pick...8 game of the season and still not in the field - 3rd. rouder... -even as a water boy-Incredible waste of pick 4 Ireland as usually

Craig,
Really??? You do remember that they were 1-15 last year right???

WHRBs,
Didn't realize Fasano was a FA at year end. You sure about that one? To me he'd be near the bottom of the list. He's played well lately but it needs to continue. I'd like to see what other options might be available (ie. guys like Fred Davis and Finley or even the draft).
Posted by: Craig M | November 04, 2012 at 12:50 PM
Ray Ill have one medalla in your name bro!!
Posted by: luis from PR | November 04, 2012 at 12:51 PM
This will be a close game, unless our pass rush shows up, then I think we win big.

Didn't understand your post to me at 12:50pm.

Tony,
Look at the rest of the draft. If you're looking at Egnew you're focusing on the trees instead of the forest.
Posted by: We Have RB's | November 04, 2012 at 12:54 PM
I will be knitting myself a sweater during the game and preparing a delicious rye bread dip. Everyone is welcome to join me and my B/F.... er partner.
