INDIANAPOLIS -- Tony McDaniel is inactive for today's game.
That's it. That is all the damage the Dolphins have to report.
RyanTannehill is starting. Brian Hartline is starting. Everything is fine, folks. The Miami inactives are Pat Devlin, Richard Marshall, Josh Kaddu, Will Yeatman, Michael Egnew, and Anderson Russell
McDaniel, as you know, is nursing a knee injury.
Rishard Matthews is active for the first time this season.
For the Colts, running back Donald Brown is active but Vick Ballard will start. Brown had his surgically repaired left knee swell on Friday and could not play today.
As every game, we will celebrate a live blog today during the game. It starts at kickoff in the comments section. See you there.

Armando,
is it pronounced TannAhill or TannYhill? I've heard it pronounced both ways and it's getting annoying trying to figure out the proper way to pronounce it.

WHRBs,
I think a lots changed about the Colts from last year. It all starts with the QB. Kerry Collins and whatever else they through out there last year were dismal. Injuries to Dallas Clark. I watched a number of colts games last year and it was clear they were going through the motions. I still believe they threw the season to get Luck. Others will disagree and that's fine. They were going nowhere last year and that was clear. Talent wise they still have holes but I think Luck energizes them and I think he'll exploit the holes in our secondary today. Just my opinion.

Tony:
Not every GM hits on every draft pick. I am not necessarily defending Ireland, just being realistic. This was an excellent draft over all, and don't give up on Egnew yet either. If he gets stronger, which can be done easily, and improves blocking, maybe he still pans out.

We should resign Long, Starks and Smith for sure. Bush, only if the money is right. Say so long to Clemons, Fasano and Hartline, unless they sign for reasonable money.
Rex,
Not sure if I would have made a great GM but I'd try to bring ALL of them back. Matt Moore too. I really like the attitude & the chemistry that this team has.
Instead of going outside the organization & signing big names who might not fit what Philbin is trying to do--we can still add playmakers through the draft with a first, two 2nd round & two 3rd down picks.

Posted by: robbyhernz | November 04, 2012 at 01:05 PM
Luck could have easily run for a first down but picked to throw for 22 yards instead.

RUN D is awesome....

WHRBS @1:02pm,
You're dead right. That should be the plan. The holes can be plugged through the draft.
Posted by: Craig M | November 04, 2012 at 01:07 PM
The Colts better get Lucky!! Passing! Running is Futile TODAY!!!
Posted by: Dashi, Ph. D | November 04, 2012 at 01:08 PM

WHRB:
I wouldn't mind signing all of our free agents either. Fact is that is rarely possible and likely very remote. Every year all teams have to pick and choose which pieces to retain and which they need to replace. If they can all fit under the cap with cap friendly contracts going forward, then fine. Otherwise, lose the players that can be upgraded and replaced with even equal ability throught the draft or cheaper free agent alternatives. Fasano is a good example as are Hartline and Clemons.

Don't try running on us, 3 and 1 going no where
Posted by: MiamiD20 | November 04, 2012 at 01:09 PM
Early indications are pass rush left it on the field at the Meadowlands.

Posted by: Kris | November 04, 2012 at 01:10 PM
Colts special teams cost themselves 3 points. Dolphins lucky the Colts ran a belly play when they were shredding the defense through the air.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | November 04, 2012 at 01:10 PM
Great penetration by our D interior linemen. NOBODY can run thru there.
Posted by: oscar canosa | November 04, 2012 at 01:11 PM
Pass D will need to tighten up....
Coach'em up Coyle....
Posted by: Kris | November 04, 2012 at 01:11 PM
If we don't make adjustments in pass coverage it's gonna be a long day
Posted by: qbclub13 | November 04, 2012 at 01:12 PM
If Ireland can upgrade our secondary this offseason, this defense will be pretty scary...Assuming we keep Starks and our other free agents of course....

Good afternoon all, and best wishes to those on the East coast recovering.
great how things that used to seem to go against us now go against THEM...all those penalties, and a missed FG.
Luck is the real deal, so we're going to have to run VERY well to keep him off the field.
Colts know that, obviously.
Posted by: IMAWriter | November 04, 2012 at 01:12 PM
We have to be physical running the ball today!!
Posted by: robbyhernz | November 04, 2012 at 01:12 PM
I don't understand why Miami doesn't run behind Long and Incognito more. It's puzzling
Posted by: Jon | November 04, 2012 at 01:13 PM
We need to get our running game going again...Less pressure on Tannehill...
Posted by: #1 Dolphin Fan in Montreal | November 04, 2012 at 01:13 PM
Dolphinfs Defensive Backs and Safeties today have to work overtime with A Luck.

Tannehill doesn't scramble but he slides well to get extra second of time.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | November 04, 2012 at 01:15 PM
Jonathan Martin is getting abused so far. It hasn't led to a sack yet, but it needs to be monitored
Posted by: Jon | November 04, 2012 at 01:15 PM
New play to Hartline, looks like?

Craig,
The Colts had a heck of draft. We both did. I said that a few days ago. Plus Arians is a great OC.
We need to establish the run today.

Dolphins don't huddle often but when they do it is very, very close to the line of scrimmage.
