Philbin message to Carroll: Job's on the line

Dolphins coach Joe Philbin had a little chat with cornerback Nolan Carroll today.

Carroll, you will recall, had a tough night against Buffalo his last game. He had two pass interference penalties, a holding call and an illegal contact called against him. It was four first downs and 76 yards worth of penalties.

So the Dolphins coaches perhaps felt the need to remind the cornerback that a starting job is notgifted or inherited. It is earned. And Carroll has to earn better than he did last week or he's going to find himself replaced.

"I talked to Nolan today a little bit individually," Philbin said. "I know the coaches communicate with him on a consistent basis. I think Nolan is an aware player. These guys that have been in the league, they're professionals. They know their job's on the line. Told him today. We all get evaluated by our performance on Sunday. That's the most important thing for what we do -- what I do as a coach and what they do as players. He's aware of what he needs to do and things he needs to do better."

I was expecting the conversation with Carroll would be more along the lines of raising his spirits or perhaps serving as crutch to waning confidence. Nope. That apparently wasn't the approach.

"I think the confidence to us, to me, is gained through your preparation and doing things in practice and doing things consistently. Doing them well," Philbin said. "And then the transfer of practice to the game. We're expecting him to play well Sunday."

Philbin said Carroll has practiced well and obviously you see the team expects him to play well. If he doesn't for the second consecutive game ...

Well, job's on the line.

You know, all these wonderful Toys that we have about now(the A(H)(Plutonium)-Bomb, Operating Conditioning) surged as a result of Social pressures provoked by WWII. Yes.

I don't understand why Kris isn't ip banned from posting on this site - you have to read through pages of BS just to get to the real football conversations. He has a problem with a different person every day. 4 pages and half of it is his crap. Why doesn't Armando do something about this. I have stopped coming here daily now; he always uses the same tired rhetoric. Armando please ban this fool!

In the Era of Internet, Social Science should prevail among All.

Agreed that only a painfully stupid and clueless person would entertain the laughable notion that Armando or the mysterious "Herald Employee" would actually invest their time accruing completely worthless blog hits in some insanely dim witted belief that it affects 'ad revenue.'
Kris, the simple fact of the matter is that you just aren't terribly bright and unfortunately there is no cure for that.

WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT AD REVENUE?

Oh thats right, it was YOU-LOL. You're blurring the issue so well here, I think you've fooled EVERYONE-AGAIN!

You Fvcking Dumbass, we've ALREADY explained it to everyone and we got your number.

If you remember right, it's EXACTLY what I said I would do to you if you didn't stop ruining the blog-lol. But, you're too smart for all that crap like LISTENING.....right?

Truth be told, thats most likely why you're so God Damend Stupid.

Ad revenue? We're talking about YOU! A Monkey Bu-oy Tard that runs up ignorant blog hits for BRAGGING RIGHTS-Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh!

You know, you stroke the Keys, your Boyfriends Ego...........and yeah............most likely that too, the little Be-atch Bu-oy YouARE!

ROTFLMFAO!

No subject is taboo here. So, if we think that Chad Henne and Sean Smith are quuuueerss, we say it with no problems.

So, if there are any Social Scientists in this Blog, you will become very rich in the next 20-30 years.

Looks like when there is any mention of A-Bomb, H-Bomb or other kind of Big Bombs, commentaries here seem to stop.

Kris, Philbin appears very finicky. It's either his Players or none. What do you think, will Philbin be successful?

Oscar, good question. I wonder much the same. What do you think? Can Philbin win soon enough w/o big time free agents?

Don't know, billcale. Shula could not have won it without FAs Larry Little, Buoniconti, Warfield. Even now, BB acquired FAs Welker, Woodhead, others. I doubt anybody can Win quickly going only thru the Draft.

Yeah, I agree. I like his disciplinarian approach for the team. I think it is something that has been necessary for a long time in Miami. However, I don't have a good feeling about his position on high profile veterans. Seems to me that he HAS to go after some for the team to become successful next year.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL..

IT's A MUST READ FOR MY FINS FANS.

MY NAME IS JUSTIN CREDIBLE..

I WAS THE FIRST TO POST IN ALL CAPS.

ALOCO ADOPTED MY STYLE.

I HAVEN't BEEN UP HERE TOO MUCH THIS YEAR NOT BECAUSE I DIDN't WANT TOO BUT I SAW THIS BLOG BECOMING OUT OF CONTROL.

IM AWARE THAT THERE ARE SOME EVIL PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD AND MANY OF THEM ARE ON THIS BLOG.

WHEN I WROTE MY FIRST POST I WAS HAPPY TO JUST TALK DOLPHINS FOOTBALL WITH OTHER FANS.

SOME I AGREED WITH SOME I DIDN'T.

HOWEVER I NEVER FELT A NEED TO DISRESPECT THEM.

YOU SEE I ALWAYS FELT LIKE IT WAS US AGINST THE WORLD TYPE OF THING.

IF YOU WERE A FAN THRU THAT 1 WIN SEASON HOW COULD YOU NOT FEEL THAT WAY.

I WAS UP HERE WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT BEING POSITIVE.

I NEVER BAILED ON MY FINS..

IM A BIGGER FAN LIVING IN JERSEY THAN ANY OF THEM IN MIAMI.

IM AWARE THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST NEGATIVE.

THAT THEY CAN't BUT LOOK FOR ANY THING NEGATIVE OUT OF EVERYTHING.

MY POINT IS THAT I HAD TO STOP READING AND COMING UP HERE BECAUSE YOU WERE TURNING ME INTO YOU.

I THOUGHT I WAS STRONG ENOUGH..

SO MUCH POSITIVE ENERGY THAT IT WOULD RUB OFF ON SOME.

HOWEVER I WAS WORST THAN ALL UP HERE.

THOSE WHO REMEMEBER I TRIED TO GET INTO A PHYSICAL FIGHT A FEW TIMES WITH PEOPLE UP HERE.

I REALLY TOLD THEM WHEN AND WHERE I WOULD BE ON MANY DAYS IN HOPE THEY WOULD SHOW UP.

YEAH IM A IDIOT..

NOT CARING ABOUT THEM HURTING ME BUT THAT I WENT OUT OF MY WAY TO TRY AND FIGHT SOMEBODY OVER A FEW WORDS.

TO THEM IM SORRY..

THERE IS ONE REASON THE DOLHINS WILL NEVER BE GOOD AGAIN..

ITS YOU!!!!

YOU AS FANS WILL NOT ALLOW STABILITY..

THE COMMON THING SINCE YOUR LOSER DAN MARINO LEFT WAS EVERY OTHER YEAR THERE WAS A NEW QB.

IF NOT A NEW COACH.

IT WASN't DAN BUT SHULA WHO WAS THE BACK BONE OR BRAIN.

DAN WAS JUST AN ARM.

EVERY TEAM THAT IS GREAT HAS STABILITY.

THINK OF EVERY TEAM THATS GOOD.

HOW LONG WAS THAT TEAM COACH THERE AND HOW LONG WAS THAT TEAM PLAYERS THERE?

TEXANS TOOK SCHUAB AND THEY SUCKED..

LOOK AT THEM NOW.

GIANTS TOOK ELI AND THEY SUCKED..

LOOK AT THEM NOW.

THE PATS WERE LAUGHING STOCKS..

SAME THING DIFFERENT TEAMS..

THE ONE THING THEY ALL HAVE IN COMMON IS STABILTY..

THEY ALLOWED THE PLAYERS TO GET BETTER.

THE DOLPHINS BAIL ON A PLAYER LIKE VONTAE AFTER 3 LITTLE YEARS.

FOR A DRAFT PICK? A DRAFT PICK LOWER THAN WHAT WE GOT HIM FOR?

LOL

STUPID IS WHAT STUPID DOES.

YOU CAN SAY ALL THE MEAN THINGS YOU WANNA SAY TO EACH OTHER OR ABOUT THE TEAM IT's YOUR MOUTH RATHER YOUR KEYBOARD..

I ALWAYS SEE YOU THE DOLPHIN's FANS BLAME EVERYTHING ON EVERYBODY EXCEPT YOURSELVES..

YOU RATHER HAVE CHANGE THAN STABILITY..

YOU RATHER REMEMBER 72' AND DAN MARINO..

WELL LIVE IN THE PAST.

HOW EVER THIS TEAM CANNOT MOVE FORWARD UNTIL YOU THE FANS DO..

HAPPY GOBBLE GOBBLE DAY..

TO ALL.

LET's GO FINS..

Guys, we're going to FAIL FORWARD FAST!!!

Armando predicts a Dolphin victory in every game.

He was horrible the last game someone needs to teach him proper technique which he should already know, this part of the team has killed them the most this year, having said that, I would go after a big wide receiver with our first pick in the draft. We have to score more points to even have a chance at winning games, this season is most likely over in terms of postseason so play the young wide outs and see what they can do, as far as defensive backs go, just put whoever backs Carrol up in the game if he starts playing like he did last week. I don't think he is that bad of a player bad of a player but for some reason he forgot how to play Db and just tackle the guy in front him without looking back for the ball just stupid, either he wakes up or put him on the bench for sure!!!!

Wow the commentary in the blog is beyond weird, and way past the line offensive. I keep trying to figure out if it's just two people with some sort of never ending pissing contest going on. It's really messed up, nobody cares what either of you think, get a life. I come here to talk strictly football not scroll through pages of BS.

Armando if you get your IT department to change the format of the comment section to a registration format, that would hel dissuade the garbage I had to sift through to fin anything meaningful to read in the comments.

Lastly I can say with certainty that I love eating turkey on Thanksgiving, I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy another full day of football.

Let's see here. The anointed one has led the team to 3 straight losses, and still the team's MVP sits on the bench. Didn't Moore prove his worth in the Jet game? And Philbin's worried about a cornerback? CB's don't matter if the QB can't lead a drive into the end zone.

Why don't we start our best players, starting at QB?

I don't think that the set up will accomlish this in a temporary situation. It is not likely that we can complete all the needs on both factors of the football with just the set up. Indication.I am speeking in the temporary. I also do not think in this contemporary atmosphere that groups give trainers the benifit of the question when it comes to time. Right or incorrect this is a win now group. Decades of medicraty get trainers shot.

Kris:

Are you just drinking a lot before you post? If so, that's cool 'cause I like to drinks also. Maybe you chase the glass pipe, I don't know, but your posts at times are very insightful with good observations, but other times (most times)you write like a nut! Explaination/

i thought in limited play at the end of the game stanford played solid. so if carol doesn't step up rj could see more PT.

i don't care what any of the haters on here say. our last 2 drafts have been pretty damn good. if this years draft is near that then we should make a nice jump up next season.
