Dolphins finally beat Patriots at something

The waiver wire gave the Dolphins something to celebrate Monday evening when wide receiver Armon Binns was awarded to Miami off waivers from Cincinnati.

So why is a waiver transaction reason for a little celebration?

Well, the Dolphins got Binns ahead of the New England Patriots. The Patriots, you see, also put in a claim for the former Jaguars undrafted free agent and Bengals practic squad player. But because the Patriots have a better record than the Dolphins, they have a lower priority for claims.

The Dolphins, with a worse record, have a higher priority.

So the Dolphins beat out the Patriots for a player!

Yeah, I'm reaching here. But consider this: The Patriots know a thing or two about claiming players. Yes, they make mistakes but they get it right a lot -- probably more often than Miami does.

And so you have to have a little confidence in Binns if the Patriots wanted him, too. Maybe he won't be just another body like so many of these waiver claim players have been lately.

Binns is 6-3 and 209 pounds. He played collegiately at the University of Cincinnati. This season he had 18 catches for 210 yards and one touchdown in eight games before being waived.

To make room for Binns, the Dolphins waived cornerback Michael Coe, who in turn had been claimed off waivers two weeks ago.

Stra8balla,

Don't really know this guy. I like the move. NO clue if it's going to help or not but why not. Sounds like a few teams liked this kid and I heard Cinci fans sorry to hear he was let go. Can't hurt.

Really, balla, Binns is good? I hope he works out soon to take some pressure off T-hill.

Ok guys,

Realistically. With Tannehill, we probably finish 5-11 to 7-9.

With Matt Moore, we finish 6-10 to 8-8.

Either way, we werent going to be a playoff team. So why not play the rookie qb who desperately needs the onfield playing experience.

With Tannehill or Moore as starters, anyone thinking to begin the year we were going to the playoffs was a total moron.

YG,

Careful with that last comment. Kris had us at 11-5 this year and I don't consider him 'a total moron'.

He(RT) does need some pocket awareness classes, YG. Just feel the pressure and slide a couple of feet either way to avoid the rush a la Marino.

YG,

Totally Agreed! Just T-Hill being On The Same Level or Better Than Moore!! Shows Moore Is Not The Starter!!

Now U want a Simple Explanation! Moore Fumbled Over 4+ Times In less Than 6 qtrs of Play! In The PreSeason!

===================================

Ha!! Ha!! (Sarcasm)

Craig!!

Me and You Have Nothing To Laugh About!!

You are The Most Hard Headed and Ignorant Poster Here!! And Easily The Most Offensive!!

Everyone FEELS THE HATE!! Resonating From EVERY WORD YOU SAY!!! Craig!!

Give It a Break Fool!!

As of today, we are favored to beat the Jags by 10.

Makes sense. We know what Henne can do, and cannot do.

Guys,

TYhink about this too. The greatest gripe against Tannehill coming in was only 18 collegiate starts(experience). Well, if Moore couldnt beat out this type of qb, and you started Moore anyway. When was Tannehill going to get the much needed playing experience?

He was already behind all of the other rookie qb's in college playing experience. He definitely wasnt going to make up any ground holding a clipboard.

Heck, Rodgers sat for 3yrs, but Rodgers was a 3-4yr starter in college. In all honesty, Ryan Tannehill is playing his senior year in college against nfl level defenders, with recievers not even as good as what USC has.

YG,

I'm about to Post The PreSeason Stats!! Just To Show How Epically BAD Matt was!!

Yes, It is Practice!! But a 39% Completion Pct! Is Uncalled For!!

Oscar,

Agreed! T-Hill Needs To Take the Marino Pocket Awareness Class!! That Marino was Talking About this Offseason!! And T-Hill is The First Dolphin Qb! Marino Likes Since Himself!! Just a 2 week Course!! Footwork!! And Awareness!! Teach Him The Pump Fake!! They Have a Very Similar Throwing Motion!! So Marino Doesn't Have To Fix A lot!! Just Fine Tune Him!!

Ryan Tannehill is the only rookie qb, playing his senior senior of college, in the nfl. With a wr corps, less than what a bunch of colleges have right now. Matt Barkley's recieving corps is better than what Tannehill presently has.

It cant even be argied that Tannehill is playing his senior year in college on the nfl level. Only 18 college starts proves this.

?

dashi,

In all actually, because of only 18 college starts, Tannehill wont be playing his "true rookie season" until next year.

This is like his senior season(starting qb-wise), only he's playing it in the nfl. So next year will be like his true rookie year.

I'm not sure if Marino himself is going to teach RT, but definitely this one needs more pocket awareness.

His numbers are down and consequently so are his picks. No questins they've 'reeled him in'.

Posted by: Craig M | December 11, 2012 at 10:46 AM

Your words, Craig M. You stated no questios they've reeled him in.

I'm just showing you that Tannehill was right on average for the season. In addition, and I could be wrong here, when you are down by seven, and you have your qb throwing deep passes to...

Hartline, Matthews, Bess, and Moore...

Appears as if they are putting the game on his shoulders, not reeling him in.

Wow!

Tough neighborhood!

I absolutely HATED the Tannehill **As The 8th Overall Pick**

Aftern a week of whining and crying, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Early on he showed some poise and leadership beyond his years.

After that, he kind of faded into mediocrity. I don't know if it's the lack of talent on the roster and/or his general inexperience at the position.

It's a conundrum for me. I like the Kid as a developing prospect. But back to my original feeling on draft day: At NO TIME did he APPEAR to be a Quarterback worthy of the 8th overall pick!

Sorry if this offends, but thats the way I see it.

(PS: Dashi, don't argue with any IDIOTS calling themselves **HOME**. No matter what they post-LOL!)

Tannehill has 3 WR TDs to date

Bottom of the Barrel QB in the NFL

Realistically 7 games already w 0 passing TDs

ZERO PASSING TDs !

Wide Open WRs & Receivers and Tannehill Inaccuracy Issues
continue since college and 29 incompletions alone in one game against Texas and another suck wind 2nd half

............. telling

yet nobody listened

Sherman FIRED from Texas A & M
and Tannehill 6-6
major trouble closing games in the 3rd & 4th Q

Same problems in the NFL

Wide open WRs and Receivers
Yet Tannehill CANNOT Get It Done

We made a mistake drafting TanneREACH @ 8th over all
Only TanneDOWNhill from here on out

He already knew the system
WRs like Hartline wide open and
Simply The Bess had a 7 Yd Slant very first play and
Two More Crucial 1st Downs in the first half

Yet the Sheeple w their own TannePUKE agenda
blame every one else but the obvious lowest ranked NFL QB
who has ZERO PASSING TDS IN 7 GAMES
(SEATTLE "DO OVER" for the inaccurate qb w 2 INTs and 0 INTs
& qb rating of 40, again was an NFL FIXED JOKE)

Matt Moore saved the Pukes Arse in Jet game 2 as TannePUKE already shiet his diaper

TanneHurl 3-8 minus QB Moores WINNING Jet VICTORY and
minus the puke inducing fixed "DO OVER" Seattle joke win

Face It Now
Rather Than Late
Since the 2012 NFL Draft and Home Scouting
Home was right on Tannehill, Martin, Egnew and
6-10 Do It Again!

YEAH!!

MOORE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE STARTER!!

YOU MORONS!! HAVE NO BASE TO STAND ON!!

THE GUY SUCKS!!

AND IS A LIFETIME 2 TURNOVERS A GAME!! PLAYER!!

WHICH WAS EVEN WORST IN THE 2012 PRESEASON!!

AND WE ALL KNOW HE IS EVEN WORST IN PRACTICE!! SAID SO BY THE MOORONS!! THEMSELVES!!

Had Andrew Luck came out of college after his junior season, he still would have had more starting experience than Ryan Tannehill. Probably the rest of the rookie qb class too.

So there great chance we could see great strides in Tannehill's play. He will have been the only qb of this rookie class, that in all actuality, got to play his "senior season" in the nfl.

oscar,he sux.
can't fix sux.
lol

Awesome job by Jeff Ireland addressing the WR position. LOL.

The last WR he found who could actually make plays was Marshall when he traded with Denver to get him. Before that it was Hartline & Bess. Then before the season you trade Marshall so we start the season with only two guys who can play on Sundays. Marlon Moore is just not an NFL WR--maybe a ST's player but my guess is that this his last season on Miami. Rishard Matthews??? Well he's a rookie & there MAY indeed be upside there but he hasn't helped this year.

The lack of finding a 3rd receiver on this team bothers me more than anything Ireland & personnel department did this off season. Bear in mind that if ANYTHING had happened to Bess or Hartline like an injury or the flu or a family emergency Tannehill would be throwing to ONE WR. That's just pathetic. And while I recognize that Marshall was a cancer & needed to be traded--I find it difficult to fathom that Ireland & the personnel department couldn't find ONE other WR (or TE for that matter) to help this offense.

I realize Ireland will most likely be back (otherwise he would have never traded Marshall & Davis) but I can't believe he hasn't been crucified in the media over this. It seems like EVERY other team (with the one exception being the Jets) is able to find WR's & TE's somehow, someway who come in & step up.

mark sanchez

YG @12:17!

Totally Agree! We Can't Fairly Judge Him Yet! But He Has Done OK!! WITH THE LITTLE THAT HE HAS AROUND HIM AND HIS INEXPERIENCE! He Can't Be Judged Fairly This Year!

Odin,

U know Dashi Wasn't For T-Hill At #8!! I Wanted Keuchly!!!!!!!! With Foles or Cousins In the 3rd!

But I have To Say That T-Hill was The Right Pick! A QB TAKES PRIORITY!! OVER EVERYTHING!! AND PHILBIN SHOWED THAT!!

On T-Hill!! For As Much As U Guys Want To Talk!! The ONLY QB IN THIS DRAFT THAT WAS A BETTER ATHLETE WAS RG3!!

REMEMBER T-HILL HAD A BROKEN FOOT!! AND DIDN'T RUN TIL HIS PRO DAY!! AND THE GUY RAN LIKE THE WIND FOR A QB!! T-Hill FITS THE PROTOTYPE FOR WHAT A PERFECT NFL QB SHOULD LOOK LIKE!! HE WAS JUST INEXPERIENCED!!

AGAIN!! T-Hill is About 6'5" 222Lbs Runs Like A WR!! And Can Throw The Ball With Accuracy! Plus he Can Throw The Ball 60+ Yards! And Can Throw On The Run!!

Agreed On The Home Comment! But Even The CREEPY Sociopath!! Makes More Sense Than Craig!

WHDP, when Ireland traded Marshall and Davis and cut Chad Johnson, he/Philbin were acknowledging that this Season was about getting rid of who they didn't want and acquiring picks for next Season.

Philbin can lie as much as he wants, but the truth is in black and white. For exactly the reasons you mentioned. WHO, in their RIGHT mind, would enter a Season in the NFL with starting WRs Hartline/Bess and then a HUGE drop-off from there (to the point they acquired a FA who was the worst ranked WR in the league, Naanee)? The FO was saying we need to restock next year. So that was a conscious decision. We HAVE TO believe that. Because to believe they actually thought they'd be ok with the talent they had would be to make Ireland/Philbin the dumbest people in the World.

dashi, he plays like he still has a broken foot.
lol

And On Ireland NOT FINDING WR'S!!!

LOVE HOW EVERYONE JUST SKIMS OVER IRELAND GETTING MARSHALL!!

YET LOVE TO TALK ABOUT HIM GETTING TRADED!! LIKE MARSHA WAS ALWAYS WITH THE DOLPHINS!!

MAYBE IRELAND DIDN"T WASTE A 1st or A 2nd On A WR!! BECAUSE HE ALREADY TRADED 2 PICKS FOR A PROBOWL WR!!

BUT WE DON'T HAVE A #1 FOR 1 SEASON!! AND IRELAND IS THE DEVIL HIMSELF!!

DANG FOOLS!!!

EVEN IF IT WAS ONLY FOR 3 SEASONS!! NAME ANOTHER GM!!! IN THE LAST 25 YEARS FOR THE DOLPHINS!! WHO PICKED A BETTER TRIO OF WR'S!! MARSHA, BESS, HARTLINE!!

AGAIN!! IT HAS BEEN ONLY 1 SEASON!! EXPECT IRELAND TO GO AFTER THE BEST WR IN FREE AGENCY!! AGAIN!!

WHAT MAKE DASHI INSULD OUR FANS WHEN THEY DISAGREE WITH HIM AND CALL THEM (( MORANS )) ?

WHAT MAKE HIM THE FOOTBALL AUTHORITY ,WHEN YG4EVER WHO KNOW A LOT MORE ,NEVER CLAIM SUCH THING AND LET US DECIDE THAT.........

DASHI,

NO SHAME
NO INTEGRITY..............

Mando
That's all you got to write about? Man I wish I had your job! LOL. this team has more holes than a bee hide! Write something about how Ji sucks and needs to be fired!

2 Watt,

T-Hill Can Be In A WHEELCHAIR!! AND HE WILL STILL BE MORE MOBILE THAN MATT MOORE!

And T-Hill Can Have NO HANDS!! AND STILL BE MORE SECURE WITH THE FOOTBALL!! THAN FUMBLE MOORE!!

SOME THING STRANGE HAPPENS WHEN THE [PLAYERS LEAVE THE DOLPHINS;;;;;;;;

MARSHALL......... HIS STATES CAME BACK AND HEADING TO THE PLAYOFFS....

HENNE ................ OUT OF THE CELLAR AT LAST AND HIS RATINGS IS 98 .......

LEAVE MARINO ALONE ,PLEASE...............

DC,

But it's unfair to the players on this team THIS year. I get that we're rebuilding but the Raiders found Derek Hagan who was cut they found that kid Rod Streeter who wasn't drafted & the Chargers struck gold with the kid Alexander that got cut from the Rams. Baltimore traded a late pick for Jacoby Jones & the Panthers traded a lot pick for Louis Murphy. Any one of these guys could have helped this team so It's not like it couldn't have been done. And I know some moron is going to say we found Wake & we found Bess...Well that's great & all but we needed more than two WR's who could play THIS year.

BTW--Signing Chad Johnson was a f#cking joke. I don't recall a veteran WR getting cut by NE & turning out to have much of anything left in the tank.

Sociopath(Aloco),

GIVE IT A BREAK YOU SOCIOPATH!!!

I HATE THE WORD ...........

(( REBUILDING ))..............

ANY OTHER TEAM TURN THINGS AROUND IN 24 YEARS AND OUR GARAGE MANAGER KEEPS TRADING PLAYERS ,LIKE HE'S PLAYING POKER...

Yes, Montreal, Runt Manning's 2 SB victories are flukes. Runt "flutterball" Manning has no arm. His SB teams were 9-7, he was bailed out by *the* two most spectactular catches in SB history both times, he's a 55% completion percentage mid-tier INT machine.

Anyone who argues Runt Manning is elite lacks *any* credibility.

DASHI,

NOW,YOU OWE ME AN APOLOGY ...............

PLEASE ,LEAVE MARINO ALONE ,WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR COMEBACK KID......

Ok!!

SOCIOPATH!!

I PROPOSE A NEW LAW:

Who's with me?

The upcoming Jax game is interesting.

Jax is even worse than us, and we should actually win this game.

But Henne might be due for a good game (he throws for 450 and 4 TDs every 4th game) *and* he might have some extra fire, obviously, coming back to play us.

If Henne gets his 4 TDs, we can' win, since we can't score more than 24 points tops.

I'm gonna go with Henne having a great game.

Jax 31
Fins 24

Henne throws for 400 yards and 4 TDs.

Dashi,
Tannehill plays like he's in a wheelchair. He's just terrible!

Aloco!!

Apoligize For The Truth? Sure!

DC,

Yeah we have to restock next year--& at the least-- the year after that if we expect to contend for a playoff spot BUT that's not an excuse of why we only have Bess & Hartline who can get open & catch the football. I still believe Miller will turn out to be a good pick but instead of taking Egnew or Cunningham I know there were WR's & TE's that could have helped us THIS year.

I'm sorry but we had FA, a draft, undrafted FA's, & then the waiver wire to find a 3rd WR & Ireland bombed.

LOL,

NOW YOU ME ANOTHER APOLOGY...

PLEASE TALK FOOTBALL ,,,,,,

Depressed,

No wonder you're 'depressed,' you're an idiot. Henne still hasn't improved since his Freshman season at Michigan.

DASHI,

I JUST LOVE READING YOUR POSTS .

CLEAN HOUSE!! AND INCLUDE IRELAND, PHILBIN, AND TANNEHILL!

Henne still hasn't improved since his Freshman season at Michigan.

Posted by: We Have Draft Picks | December 11, 2012 at 01:21 PM

Neither has TanneBust....

Are u referring to the game where Henne threw for 400 yards with 28 points and Brady went 500 yards and 52 points?
Pennington couldnt score in the red zone, nither could Henne or Moore.
Now Tannehill has no TD's. Same receivers, same story...

OUR OL GIVES A DEATH SENTENCE TO ANY QB .......

ANY BROWN DONKEY CAN SEE THAT ,,,,,,,,,,,,

The Dolphins' rookie quarterback throws five incomplete passes on that critical drive, and completes 1-of-7 passes on the offense's final two possessions.

= bust.
fax jax.

"ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer believes Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is going to be "an absolute rock star in this league, but it may take a little bit longer than some other places."
"Is he going to struggle, even next year? Absolutely, he's going to struggle a little bit," Dilfer said. "They're not an overly talented offense. Because of that, it's harder for the quarterback to be successful." Rotoworld's Chris Wesseling still ranks Tannehill higher than fellow rookies Russell Wilson or Brandon Weeden in Dynasty formats.

Difer says the Dolphins are 'not a overly talent offense.' That's probably the understatement of the f#cking year. LOL. Plus Hartline, Bush, & Fasano are all FA's. Assumimng they hit FA our starting WR's would be Bess & Matthews or Moore, our starting RB would be Thomas, & our starting TE would be Clay with Egnew as his backup. Nice!!!

Can anyone imagine what this offense will look like next year if Ireland doesn't re-sign Hartline????

Man,

I can't think the entire fanbase is this stupid. Has to be just one moron reposting the same crap under different names. Life must be real boring.

28 NFL teams WISH they had our OL.

Yeah, we'd really miss Hartline and his 1 td. Dont think there is another NFL team Hartline would start for.

How fast is he? I bet he is slower than Bess, and Fasano.

Would you guys trade Tannehill for Henne?

Beating the Patriots in this manner is a victory that I will long savor. Well done, Jeff Ireland!

Draft Picks:

400
4
#win

Tannehill’s TD numbers are right there (actually worse) with Ryan Leaf’s rookie season, and we all know how that one turned out. Bust watch has officially started.
