The Dolphins are playing a solid game so far and against the reeling Bills, that's been good enough so far.
The Dolphins have two touchdowns from Reggie Bush -- one via a reception, the other on a second-quarter 1 yard run. And the defense that has been solid much of the year has been solid today.
The Dolphins have held Buffalo to 1 of 6 on third down.
Stevie Johnson is having a nightmare day -- having dropped two passes including a TD and having fumbled his only catch of the game.
Michael Egnew has played two plays in the first half but the ball has not come his direction. Ryan Tannehill is not completing 50 percent of his throws but he's leading the team with 43 rushing yards.

We really need to see THILL put in the end zone here.

YG, look at his first year, he had 3 TDS the whole year and WE have draft picks...hartline is our best player on offense this year but that doesnt mean he is our best option and proirity in the offseason if miami chooses to go the way of the draft for another #2 reciever...1000 yrds is great but i prefer someone who has burst and the agility to pick up YAC rather than yards by catch...
Posted by: superPHIN | December 23, 2012 at 03:00 PM
... or a first down ... whatever.
Posted by: zaphod | December 23, 2012 at 03:00 PM
"WHDPs @ 2:54pm,
Sarcasm man....I thought even you would pick up on that."
Craig,
Although I've questioned MANY of Ireland's draft picks like trading up to the 2nd to take Thomas, it's hard to argue with taking Miller in the 4th. I just would have really liked to see Miller used more this year. Not sure why he was shelved for so much of the season.

Armando, I forgot that next week is Christmas... have Merry Christmas to you, your Family and for all the Gang that every day are over here talking about our Dolphinhs.
Again, thanks for the Dolphins news received from you thru the whole year 2012..!!! We Appreciate your work, Thanks..

Nice 1st down throw by THILL.
His stats will not be great....fans will gripe about him...again...
But he and the running game is getting it done today in the end.
Posted by: jpao | December 23, 2012 at 03:01 PM
Moore hasnt been disappointing. He's following true to what he is. INCONSISTENT.

Smart play by THILL....live for another play

Great Throw!!
Nice catch by Bush....e is having a GREAT game today.
Posted by: jpao | December 23, 2012 at 03:03 PM
nice throw by tanne on the fade to reggie who made a remarkable catch. Finally they're using reggie in the slot

How bout them dolphins! Big play Pass TDs are rare joy!
Posted by: TAO | December 23, 2012 at 03:04 PM
I'm thinking Reggie Bush is valuable to the Dolphins, but he has to accept their terms -- not the other way around -- if he wants to stay.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | December 23, 2012 at 03:04 PM
Any thought of letting Bush walk after this season should now be dismissed.
Posted by: 48-Go | December 23, 2012 at 03:04 PM
This is what we need to see from Tanne ... getting TD's instead of field goals in the red zone.
Also, he has now thrown 12 TD's and 12 INT's for the season. A few more TD's and no more INT's and that'll give him something good to look at in the offseason.
Posted by: zaphod | December 23, 2012 at 03:04 PM
That's a perfect throw.
Posted by: We Have Draft Picks | December 23, 2012 at 03:04 PM
awesome throw & catch. GO DOLPHINS!!!
Posted by: dolfanSF | December 23, 2012 at 03:04 PM
I'm really happy that coaches are finally recognizing the need to get to Bush in open space and running THill more. It's had a big effect today. Good job.
Posted by: jweamer | December 23, 2012 at 03:05 PM
This is frustrating! If they played this way 3 weeks ago. Dang it!
Looks like Buffalo spent a little time @ Omni last night.
Posted by: nyfinfan | December 23, 2012 at 03:05 PM
who said T-Hill had no touch???????
great throw and bush isn't exactly tall so it had to be weighted perfectly......and it was!!!
great awareness by bush to keep his feet inbounds
Posted by: reg | December 23, 2012 at 03:05 PM
Same timing / fade throw to the left side of the end zone that THILL hit Fasano on a few weeks ago. Nice reliable throw that he seems to be able to make in the red zone.
NICE work for a rookie QB.
Posted by: jpao | December 23, 2012 at 03:05 PM
Tanne-Thrill now has a 95.4 QB rating in this game

WHDPs,
I've made the point that the shelf life for a running back in the NFL is short (something like 4 years). It's my belief that they're saving Miller for future seasons. Doesn't mean it's true....just a theory. why use a guy up when you have Bush and Thomas to do the heavy lifting.
Posted by: Craig M | December 23, 2012 at 03:05 PM
Getting rid of Reggie Bush is getting rid of our offense
Posted by: David | December 23, 2012 at 03:06 PM
Another perfect example of why hartline is not able to get seperation in the redzone, he just cant breakaway from defenders enough to be a viable TD option....sorry but I want a guy who can put points on the board rather than have 1000 yrd in a season any day of the week!!!
Posted by: superPHIN | December 23, 2012 at 03:07 PM
By the way, that stuff I wrote about Wannstedt's defenses getting WORSE in second meetings against AFC East opponents.
True today.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | December 23, 2012 at 03:07 PM
Impressive pass...got some arc on the ball

"I'm thinking Reggie Bush is valuable to the Dolphins, but he has to accept their terms -- not the other way around -- if he wants to stay."
Mando,
He's the only proven RB we have. Thomas is always nicked up & we've barely seen Miller. Even with that said I don't see the Dolphins re-signing him. Yes he's playing great today but week in & week out he's not a work horse back.
Posted by: We Have Draft Picks | December 23, 2012 at 03:08 PM
Who says Ryan is not accurate? That td pass is as pretty a pass as you'll see in the NFL. Over and between two defenders.
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | December 23, 2012 at 03:08 PM
3rd down....BLITZ
Posted by: jpao | December 23, 2012 at 03:09 PM
Do you write as well Mando?
Posted by: Mark | December 23, 2012 at 03:09 PM
superPHIN,
Tannehill makes a great throw and Bush a great catch for a TD. How does that say anything about Hartline?
We know what Hartline is. He's a 4th round draft pick who comes to play every week. I don't believe anyone is saying he's a number one receiver.
Posted by: Craig M | December 23, 2012 at 03:09 PM
YES

Craig,
I've never heard of teams 'saving' players for future seasons. If he could have helped us win games this season then he should have been playing. My guess is that Philbin didn't trust him.

Tannehill sacked! Trade him NOW!!!!!!
Posted by: zaphod | December 23, 2012 at 03:10 PM

This series looks ugly.
Need to throw deep here on 3rd. INT is as good as a punt.
Posted by: jpao | December 23, 2012 at 03:11 PM
WHDPs,
Reggie hasn't been the same since he got hurt. He only looks like he's gotten healthy the last few weeks again. He's a valuable guy when healthy and it looks like he'll have a chance at a second 1,000 yard season next week.
Not saying it should be a slam dunk resign, just that it should be considered seriously.
Posted by: Craig M | December 23, 2012 at 03:12 PM
You Tannehill haters have no idea how good this organization has it with Tannehill instead of paying big money to guys like Fitzgerald & Sanchez.

aaaawwww ... let's not throw Carpenter under the bus, yet. He's a scrappy little guy ... of course he did lose 2 games for us (2 games which, by the way would have put us in the playoffs) ... buy, by golly, he's scrappy and I like that.
Posted by: zaphod | December 23, 2012 at 03:15 PM
I agree, bye bye Carpenter. He cost us 3 games this year. Kickers get a couple of shots. When they screw up, bye.
Posted by: klndry | December 23, 2012 at 03:15 PM
Awwwwwright Miami!
Posted by: TAO | December 23, 2012 at 03:15 PM
My take on Reggie is along the lines mando spelled out. Nice to have him back but has to be a fair contract. Miller has also looked good in action today. Reggie has shown his game breaking ability the last two weeks though.
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | December 23, 2012 at 03:15 PM
I can't imagine how good this offence could be with a good pass-catching TE and a couple of good WRs. Gets me excited about next year.

Craig,
There's no doubt about it. If Bush didn't get hurt I think he would have had a monster season. If we think his body can hold up for another two or three years then he should be re-signed. No way of knowing....
Posted by: We Have Draft Picks | December 23, 2012 at 03:16 PM
Cameron Wake credited with a sack on that last fumble -- his 15th of the season, a career high
Posted by: Tony in Miami | December 23, 2012 at 03:16 PM
I think Bush well be back. I read somewhere he said money is not that important. That he's made a fortune over the years. He wants to compete in the playoffs. And that might happen next year if we get the WR we need on FA and can add impact players in the draft. Let Long go, Martin is playing good and he'll get better. Resign Hartline. With a good TE and good corners this team could be very good.
Posted by: jtlawson5 | December 23, 2012 at 03:16 PM
Allow me to piggyback on what Mark said ...
I believe spending $4M on Bush is better than spending $6M on Jake Long.
Get a good contract on Bush. But also spend your money where it makes the most difference.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | December 23, 2012 at 03:17 PM
I have not been following the team this last week. What happened to Carpenter?
Posted by: Ken | December 23, 2012 at 03:18 PM
I never said hartline is a #1 craig, i simply stated that as far as he is worth a #2 reciever role,, you need a guy who is able to take pressure off your #1 option...hartline could not prove that when marshall was here and he has consistanlty proved over four years that while he is reliable and has good hands, he can be shutdown just like today with one catch...
Im not sure overall if he is worth a big extension and if their arent other options out there in the offseason to replace him!!!
Posted by: superPHIN | December 23, 2012 at 03:18 PM
This is a pro-bowl caliber kicker. Drills field goals and kicks deep on kick offs.
Carpenter is only 66% this season over 45 yards. He lost 2 games for the team. Should be in the front running Wild Card seat right now. His kick offs are 50/50 at best.
Carpenter has only 1 year left on his contract. Trade him for something decent in the draft.
Posted by: jpao | December 23, 2012 at 03:18 PM
these back up to the back up CB's are playing better than Smith and Marshall.
Posted by: jpao | December 23, 2012 at 03:19 PM
I think this is the deal with the Tannehill haters.. He is being compared to those of his rookie class and rightfully so. Outside of Wilson, Luck, RG3, and Newton, whens the last time a rookie QB came in to play QB like they have? Luck just set the all time passing yards mark and Wilson is about to break the all time TD's mark. Yes it would be nice to have Tannehill perform like them but every player develops differently. He was the least experienced of the rookie class with ONLY 19 starts..
Posted by: mattybfromnc | December 23, 2012 at 03:19 PM
WHDPs,
I agree with your comment @3:16pm. That's how I see it too.
Armando, I'd be on side with something like $4 million for Bush AND $6 mil for Long. I don't want to see us spending another pick on an umproven tackle. Guys can bash Long if they like but at worst I think he could be a good RT for us.
