The season-finale ... can you believe it?
The Colts beat the Houston Texans today so if the Patriots win, they can secure a first-round bye. That means they are unlikely to rest their starters. With the Bills beating the Jets, the Dolphins will finish second in the AFC East.
The inactives for the Dolphins against the Patriots today are Pat Devlin, Davone Bess, Nolan Carroll, Josh Kaddu, Patrick Brown, Kyle Miller and Kheeston Randall.
Koa Misi is back in his starting job. The starting corners are Dimitri Patterson and Sean Smith.
The Patriots are activating TE Rob Gronkowski today and planning to play him some. Their inactives are Markus Zusevics, Alfronzo Dennard, Nate Ebner, Jake Bequette, Nick McDonald, Kamar Aiken, and Marquice Cole.
We have a live blog brewing today. It begins in the comments section below. See you there soon.

Looks CRAPPY out there.....
Kind or WEATHER that can make a player with NOTHING to play for soft....and GIN-SHY when it comes to catching...and hitting....
Posted by: Kris | December 30, 2012 at 04:26 PM
Sean Smith losing money by the completion.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | December 30, 2012 at 04:26 PM
If the Pats win they will get a 1st round by as the Texans lost and the Pats hold the tie breaker. The Patriots will be giving it their all. I am hoping for a very competitive game but at this point I hope we lose so that we can get a higher draft pick. I just hope we don't get blown out and that we leave this game with a good feeling going into next year.

My bet is Brady and company send a message today to the rest of the NFL. Let's see....
Posted by: Craig M | December 30, 2012 at 04:28 PM
Sean smith on 1st play looked sooo bad
Posted by: 72perfectstill | December 30, 2012 at 04:28 PM
Dansby HAS to get of that block....
Posted by: Kris | December 30, 2012 at 04:28 PM
The game will get better once the Dolphins defense arrives. They must have been delayed at the airport.
Posted by: zaphod | December 30, 2012 at 04:28 PM
Brady was yelling "COUGAR". Funny, was an old lady after young boys?
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone 4Ever! | December 30, 2012 at 04:29 PM
Our defense is not looking good today so far. I hope that they came ready to play because the Pats are firing on all cylinders.
Posted by: Orlando Dolphan | December 30, 2012 at 04:29 PM
FAT PAUL....
Posted by: Kris | December 30, 2012 at 04:29 PM
YG,
I agree with you but we don't even run much play action. I'm not talking about the pistol or any of that stuff. I'm just talking about 3wr sets with some motion to give the D something to think about. I watch other teams as well and one thing I notice is we are predictable.
Posted by: The Coach | December 30, 2012 at 04:30 PM
Pats going fourth and six.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | December 30, 2012 at 04:30 PM
BIG right here....
Posted by: Craig M | December 30, 2012 at 04:30 PM
Wow Craig,
You're such a smart guy.
Posted by: The Signal | December 30, 2012 at 04:30 PM
Coach,
My Fans Will Beg To Differ!!
They Will Tell You Dashi Is All Knowing!!
Again, If Your Knowledge was So Vast!! You Wouldn't Make Ignorant Statements Like The One You Made.
Why Admit We Do Throw Out Of 40+ Formations!! Because You Know Dashi Is Talking The Truth!!
And Running Is Even Simpler!!what Are There? Like 10 Run Plays? ISO/Dive, Blast, OFFTACKLE, TOSS, SWEEP, COUNTER, Zone, and Repeat For The Other Side! Oh, almost Forgot Draw and Reverse!!
Real F'ing Difficult!! Why Do You Think The Coaches Didn't Practice The Run Game In TC!! The Same 10 Plays You Ran In Pop Warner!! Are The Same Plays You Run In The NFL!!
Here Is A Hint Coach!! Can You Run To The Outside? If You Don't Have any Guards!
NOPE!!
So keep talking about your Vast Knowledge!!
Posted by: Dashi | December 30, 2012 at 04:30 PM
Good hold guys....
Posted by: Craig M | December 30, 2012 at 04:31 PM
Yes, the Pats gambled and it blew up in their face.
Posted by: Orlando Dolphan | December 30, 2012 at 04:31 PM
Going for it on fourth and six. Arrogant.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | December 30, 2012 at 04:31 PM
Wow ... now if New England could just keep beating themselves the rest of the game!
Posted by: zaphod | December 30, 2012 at 04:31 PM
Coach,
3 wr sets? Our wr's scare nor confuse anyone.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone 4Ever! | December 30, 2012 at 04:31 PM
Simms and Nance kissing Pats a $ $ from the get go. Nice stand.
Posted by: nyfinfan | December 30, 2012 at 04:31 PM
Brady heard that left end on 4th down. Slipped right around the tackle.
Posted by: Sammo | December 30, 2012 at 04:32 PM
Rishard Matthews starts for Davone Bess.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | December 30, 2012 at 04:32 PM
The problem the Dolphins have with Sean Smith is that the Dolphins are paying the other 2 scrub CB's on the team 5 million/year. Sean Smith > Marshall and the new guy. So we have to pay him at least 8 mil/season to keep him. Is he worth it? Ireland really screwed up by getting that Patterson guy and signing Marshall for so much. Now we have to overpay Smith to keep him.
Posted by: TJ | December 30, 2012 at 04:32 PM
Tannehill ... TD pass right here ... send a message.
Posted by: zaphod | December 30, 2012 at 04:32 PM
Coach,
Also, the only motion our wr's need to learn is called "SEPARATIOM".
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone 4Ever! | December 30, 2012 at 04:33 PM
Kris can't make a single post without some bitter angle to it. That is one downer, negative dude.
Posted by: Ray | December 30, 2012 at 04:33 PM
See dashi,
First play. run. easy to see by formation
Posted by: The Coach | December 30, 2012 at 04:33 PM
Run, pass, pass, punt.
I would like to collect the check now.
Posted by: zaphod | December 30, 2012 at 04:34 PM
That wind is a BEAST....you can see why they went for it....
SMART DECISION BY PHILBIN to DEFER...and pick HIS CHOICE OF DIRECTION,,,,,
regardless of what Armando tells you.....
Posted by: Kris | December 30, 2012 at 04:34 PM
Coach,
That was an empty backfield set.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone 4Ever! | December 30, 2012 at 04:34 PM
Are we Repeating Formations, Coach.
Posted by: Dashi | December 30, 2012 at 04:34 PM
Ryan Tannehill becomes first rookie in Dolphins history to start all 16 games at QB.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | December 30, 2012 at 04:34 PM
This offense has no imagination. They call Bush up the middle WAY TOO OFTEN!
Posted by: Ray | December 30, 2012 at 04:35 PM
Probably again no wr seperation.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone 4Ever! | December 30, 2012 at 04:35 PM
Okay, be honest, who here wasn't COMPLETELY surprised by the play selection of the Dolphins first drive?
*sigh*
Posted by: zaphod | December 30, 2012 at 04:35 PM
Has a lot of that game in Buffalo feel to it, early. Team was flat and the NE defence was in the back field all game. Play-calling was very conservative too. Hopefully team and OL get it together.
Posted by: Craig M | December 30, 2012 at 04:35 PM
Nate Garner got destroyed. Makes you wonder if we need to resign Long.
Posted by: Orlando Dolphan | December 30, 2012 at 04:36 PM
We've got to sign Welker back-he could help Tanny immensely
Posted by: David | December 30, 2012 at 04:36 PM
Why Sean Smith never turns towards the QB?
Play is right behind him and he's clueless.
Posted by: Art | December 30, 2012 at 04:37 PM
Is tanne hurt? He grabbed his leg after that sack.
Posted by: Sammo | December 30, 2012 at 04:37 PM
YG,
I agree with you about that stuff. My only point I was making is we look a little predictable. No question we have other issues about the offense. Reading more into it than what I was intending.
Posted by: The Coach | December 30, 2012 at 04:37 PM
SMART DECISION BY PHILBIN to DEFER...and pick HIS CHOICE OF DIRECTION,,,,,
regardless of what Armando tells you.....
Posted by: Kris | December 30, 2012 at 04:34 PM
---
This dimwit still hasn't realized they have deferred every time the choice was theirs all season.
Posted by: Ray | December 30, 2012 at 04:37 PM
How come New England's WR's and TE's are going to be open short for big gains all game, and we can't complete a lousy pass over the middle? Don't our coaches watch the film of other teams who can actually, you know, play the game effectively?
Posted by: zaphod | December 30, 2012 at 04:37 PM
No Offense......better hope defense can play turnover game...
Posted by: superPHIN | December 30, 2012 at 04:37 PM
First play for Miami was I formation
Posted by: The Coach | December 30, 2012 at 04:38 PM
These cold weather games have never favored us. I would not be surprised if we lay an egg today.
Posted by: Orlando Dolphan | December 30, 2012 at 04:38 PM
Way to take each other out Phins!
Posted by: zaphod | December 30, 2012 at 04:38 PM
We differed because of the stiff wind. Exactly why Bellichik didnt go for th fg last series.
3pts are off the scoreboard right now on that decision alone.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone 4Ever! | December 30, 2012 at 04:40 PM
deferred
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone 4Ever! | December 30, 2012 at 04:40 PM
If Joe Philbin is playing the wind and not Tom Brady and his record breaking offense, then he's playing the wrong thing.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | December 30, 2012 at 04:41 PM
Why are we giving the offense ' a cushion'. Running into one another is not a big help either. Helmet to helmet on your own teammate-film for 32 employers
Posted by: David | December 30, 2012 at 04:41 PM
Does Dansby realize he can jam Hernandez at the line?
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone 4Ever! | December 30, 2012 at 04:42 PM
So why did we defer every other game? We are deferring with or without the wind.
Maybe its the GMO foods but few of you have a memory greater than a fly.
Posted by: Ray | December 30, 2012 at 04:43 PM
YG...
IGNORE the TROLL ray....or WHATEVER name he is going to use next....

Posted by: nyfinfan | December 30, 2012 at 04:44 PM
No flag on that hit?!?!
Posted by: KS | December 30, 2012 at 04:44 PM
No penalty? Are we playing by Patriot rules?
Posted by: zaphod | December 30, 2012 at 04:44 PM
No flag on fair catch violation-wow
Posted by: David | December 30, 2012 at 04:44 PM
