Cameron Wake is All NFL

The postseason awards are starting to filter in now and at least one Dolphins player is being recognized for a great season:

Cameron Wake.

Wake was today voted to the 2012 All NFL team by Pro Football Weekly and the Professional Football Writers of America. This is deserved as Wake had a career-high 15 sacks in 2012. I am assuming the big award, the All Pro awards by the Associated Press, will also recognize Wake in the coming weeks.

I am one of the 50 people that vote for All Pro and I voted for Wake. So we'll see. Meanwhile, the PFF/PFWA All NFL team and awards are below:

You people are the biggest bunch of compulsively negative, mentally dull, and creepily obsessive misfits I've ever seen on any blog.

Jesus, it's a freaking GAME. I can't imagine watching football with such a bunch of delusional, whining panytywaists.

The people I watch with actually have FUN and don't behave like 5-year-old schoolgirls whose favorite Barbie doll just got stolen.

This game is exactly whyy I changed my tune about the Seahawks. I was on the bandwagon until hearing ne of the espn analyst's talking about how all of the jetlag( will catch up to them. Seems that guy was right on. Sea to Was to Sea, then sea to Atl.

Plus that Skins game was a very tough and emotional in. We're seeing a team that has basically pretty much run out of gas, both mentally and physically. Ryan's and his offense is beginning to have thier way with the Seahawks defense.

Flipflopping are we? Should have taken Ryan over Long? LOL...

Youre the biggest component for drafting an olineman 1st rd this year. Or have you already forgotten? LOL...

Whether mental fatigue, physical fatigue, or whatever. So if for the season he's 59%. If not for the 4th qtr accuracy isues, he would be at least around 63% completions for the year.

It is the whole offense playing at a lower level. Tannehill most likely has more stamina than anyone on the team being so young and athletic.

The Seattle team has logged nearly 10,000 miles of travel in only 7 days. Its begining to show.

**** TWO BEST POSTS OF THE YEAR *****

YUP, THIS IS YOU! LOL.................................

DC,

Sorry bud, I didn't understand your post at all from this morning. You talked about RGIII, Wilson and Kaepernick as being athletic QBs. We have an athletic QB in Tannehill. I'm not saying he's going to be able to put up the kind of rushing yardage that Kaepernick and the others do, but I still think he's got the athleticism you'd want in a QB.

I don't see anything about what we're doing getting old. We're on the right track and we have to continue to add quality talent to our offence. More hits than misses and playmakers high the next couple of years. We're on our way....but yes, still have a ways to go.

THX FOR STOPPING BY "DOO FUSS" KING OF "DUFFUSS".

COMEBACK AGAIN AND BRING A FRIEND! LOL...

How did so many teams miss on Russell Wilson? He is light years ahead of Tannehill right now. To think that we could have had this kid as late as the 3rd round. Perhaps we could have used that first pick on some of the needs we have now (LB Luke Kuechly, CB Stephon Gilmore, WR Michael Floyed, or traded down) and then drafted Wilson in the 3rd round. I guess we are not the only ones that made the mistake of not taking this kid but why can't we ever strike gold with a mid round pick.

"The Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins are currently trying to sign SS Reshad Jones to a contract extension.

Jones turns 25 in February and is entering the final year of his rookie deal. He emerged as a legit top-five safety in 2012, grading out third in Pro Football Focus' ratings behind only Eric Weddle and Jairus Byrd. Jones is a building block for Kevin Coyle's defense. We'd expect him to target a deal similar to that of Raiders SS Tyvon Branch, who inked a four-year, $26.6 million contract last offseason. Branch's deal contains $17.6 million guaranteed. "

Jones is probably the 2nd best player we have on defense so I hope we lock him up for a long time. However I do find it odd that the team views Jones' extension who is still under contract through next year as more of a priority than any of our impending FA's. I have to wonder if this means that we're prepared to let all of our FA's walk.

"DUFFUS" WHERE ARE YOU? LOL...

10,000 miles logged in seven days, but still plenty of fight left in the Seahawks.

Zach Miller really showed up today.

Dont look now now, but seems Matt Ryan is returning to his "choking ways". To be continued.......

Russel Wilson is the steal of this year's draft. If he stays healthy he will probably be a HOF. Yes, I truly beleive that. This guy reminds me of another 3rd round pick, Joe Montana. Andthe scary thing is, he is only a rookie.

Signal,

I must admit, a Kaepernik vs Wilson nfc championship game would be very exciting!

WHDPs,

I think you and I have gone back on this one a few times. I don't really see us as having any 'must resigns'. To me, Bush at the righ price is the closest for me. I think you would probably seen Hartline. WE were 7-9. Lots of room to grow. I think just throwing money at these guys because we have the cap room would be dumb!!

Yeah, I'd have Jones as more of a priority than a lot of these guys.

So people come in here, read all of the posts, then comment on how spending time in here is idiotic?

Seriously, some of the dumbest people in the world can be found in the Herald blog.

But the guy commenting on the whining is right on. Every time I read one of those whiney poor us posts I want to puke. I can't believe there are so many who seem to base their self worth on another persons accomplishments or failures. It's just pathetic.

Much like the Falcons and the fact they thought the game ended after their last TD. Pathetic. If they blow this they need to fire Smith. There is no reason why a team with this much talent would fail every year in the playoffs other than mediocre coaching. Smith is a clone of Shottenheimer.

I hope that I don't jinx them but Seattle has become my second favorite team. They are the ultimate underdog. It starts with their QB who was overlooked by so many teams.

Like Sean Smith, Richard Sherman is a "big corner". Except that Sherman is everything that we could only wish that Smith could be.

Russell Wilson is INCREDIBLE!! This kid has it all. This keeps up and he's well on his way to neing the next Montana or Brady, guys that should have been drafted much higher than they were. It just shows what an inexact science drafting is.

Incredible what this guy is going. And YG you are right....Ryan isn't getting it done AGAIN....when it's needing most. This has been the pattern with this guy.

3 and out for Ryan, I smell trouble...... LOL...

one more down to hold for the Atl defense.

Orlando,

With the protection that his O-line is giving him, Wilson is looking like he should have been a top 5 pick. I loved this kid in college & the only reason he wasn't a first round pick were the concerns about his height. Sounds pretty stupid now since Brees is only an inch taller than Wilson & he's done okay. Obviously when you're a natural leader who is as skilled as Wilson you can still have success as an NFL QB at 5'11.

Our offense is a mess & IMO it goes well beyond Tannehill. If we don't protect our QB better & we don't get Tannehill better WR's & TE's to work with--we're not going to win a lot of games next year. I also believe that we need to be more consistent running the football & I don't believe that re-signing Bush is the answer.

How smart and gutsy does Pete Carrol look now. He could have caved to the pressure of giving Flynn the huge contract and started him. Instead, he started the best player (a 3rd round pick). Carrol's stock has sky rocketed. Everyone used to say that he was a good college coach and not an NFL coach. He has certainly learned a lot since his last stint in the NFL.

I hope guys take note from last nights game of what NOT having a sufficient OL can do to your team. I'm talking about GB, of course. All I've kept readoing on here is playmakers, playmakers, playmakers.

While I don't disagree with that to some extent, it is VERY clear that GB has a lot of great playmakers on their team. Rodgers, Cobb, Finley, Nelson, Jones, Jennings. Where they struggled last night, especially in the second half, was on the line of scrimmage when they had the ball. SF dominated the line in the second half.

Take the pick six by GB off the board last night and it's clear that SF was BY FAR the better team. Most people on here will attribute it ONLY to Kaepernick and the running game, but that wouldn't be accurate and wouldn't tell the complete story. The GB OL's inability to get the job done was a big reason why GB wasn't able to score points in the second half.

WHDPs,

That's one of the first times I've heard you say, 'we need to protect Long better'. What do you suggest to help with the protection? Interesting to hear you say that.

We Have Draft Picks,

I agree with you. Our OL needs to be upgraded. Tough decisions are forthcoming next year on the O-Line. We need offensive weapons but if Tannehill does not have time to throw or an offensive line that can open up holes we are not going anywhere. Do we gamble on resigning Long (with his injuries and wanting big money? do we draft Chance Warmack with our first pick? Do we go after an Offensive Lineman in FA.

Its great fallacy to say anyone "missed on Wilson". It's only "business as usual" in how the nfl "evaluates short qb's". Hell, Seattle didnt take him until 3rd rd.

Russell's playing like he should have been a 1st, no lower than 2nd rd pick. So, by "this standard" EVERYONE INCLUDING SEATTLE missed on Wilson. He went right where he was evaluated, by everyone including Seattle, evaluated him.

So please stop the everybody missed on Wilson talk. Seattle wouldnt have drafted him either, had it not been for need of qb. Going into the draft they thought that thier answer at qb was Matt Flynn. Just so happen Wilson beat him ut for the starting position.

CraigM,

On the SF game, it also helps to have a qb that can run for a 70yd td. Kaep finished with nearly 200yds rushing. That freaking insane from the qb position.

I think you and I have gone back on this one a few times. I don't really see us as having any 'must resigns'. To me, Bush at the righ price is the closest for me. Yeah, I'd have Jones as more of a priority than a lot of these guys.

Craig,

I think you might be right. I wouldn't be shocked if we didn't re-sign any of our FA's. In terms of money, the truth is that every single one of our FA's has question marks.

Although I'd be VERY disappointed if Hartline doesn't come back, I'm not sure if the team values Hartline as much as I do. I just don't know if Ireland & Co. thinks that Hartline is worth $6 Million a year.

..Craig M..You can blame the O-Line if you want. I blame the fact that the Packers went away from the run in the second half. 1 running play that wasn't a Rodgers scramble. It was pathetic. The Niners in turn played their 2 deep coverage the whole second half, and the Pack was then doomed.

It wasn't neccessary either. Look at the first half and the balance of run-pass, then the score. It was a tie game with 7 minutes to go in the third quarter! The Packers played right into the strenght, and what the Niners wanted. How many sacks, or pressures did they have in the first half?

Kris...Burn!

That's one of the first times I've heard you say, 'we need to protect Long better'. What do you suggest to help with the protection? Interesting to hear you say that.

Craig,

LOL. That's b/c I didn't. I said we need to protect Tannehill better.

Well, looks like "Matty Ice" will be renamed, "Matty Froze". Especially if the Seahawks win this game. LOL...

Smith needs to be fired tomorrow morning. Pathetic coaching and the play calling has sucked in the second half.

Wilson is a f#cking winner!!!

Yeah looks like we really miss mike nolan...that Atlanta D is pahetic

Seattle scores, the "Matty Froze" era continues! LOL...

Can you spell "chokers"

So I guess Kris is going to have to eat his tail...

AGAIN.

Not only that but Mike Nolan continues to prove he can only call 3 qtrs of a football game and can not win in the 4th unless his team has a huge lead.

And cue the blame birds. Can't wait to hear how it's all Ryans fault.

If Jake Long reads this blog, he somewhere ROTFL his a s s off right now!

Orlando,

I wish I knew. We need so much help on offense it's scary...

Matty Ice: doing the least with the most around him.

Average QB surrounded by excellent talent. If I'm the Falcons do I get another QB? Hell no, but he can't get it done...

YG, tell us again how tired Seattle is! YOU MORON!!

MATTY ICE IS NOW OFFICIALLY MATTY FROZE, FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHDPs,

Yeah I read my comment to you afterwards. Not sure why I thought 'Long'.....force of habit again.

Seriously, what would your plan be? Hearing you say the OL needs to improve is new for me. I haven't heard you say that before.

YG = KISS OF DEATH HAHA

Where are all of the Matt Ryan fans now??? Ryan has a a very good O-line all the weapons in the world & he still can't win a damn playoff game??? He would have been a BUST in Miami with what we've had the last 4-5 years.

YG,

Everybody did miss out on Wilson. Hence, he lasted to the third round and all of the teams picked twice before he was drafted.

"Seattle wouldnt have drafted him either, had it not been for need of qb. Going into the draft they thought that thier answer at qb was Matt Flynn. Just so happen Wilson beat him ut for the starting position."

YG- You are contradicting yourself: first you say they needed a QB and then you say they thought that they had their answer with Fynn. Maybe I am just missing your point.

Comparing Playoff Records

LONG
0-1

RYAN
0-22

Fire Mike Smith tomorrow, done, he's horrible. Coaches like a frightened little girl in the playoffs and it rubs off on the team.

What was that about Ryan? Guy may actually bail Nolan

What a game!!!!

..I don't know..both quarterbacks look pretty clutch right now.

Lol....a game of such clutch defense (sarcasm) if Falcons pull this off I recind that last comment

PUTTING THE MATTY FROZE TALK ON "THAW"! LOL...

Ryan was clutch in the final seconds. Maybe they are going to get the monkey of their back.

OMG...Seattle had them!!!!
