Cameron Wake is All NFL

The postseason awards are starting to filter in now and at least one Dolphins player is being recognized for a great season:

Cameron Wake.

Wake was today voted to the 2012 All NFL team by Pro Football Weekly and the Professional Football Writers of America. This is deserved as Wake had a career-high 15 sacks in 2012. I am assuming the big award, the All Pro awards by the Associated Press, will also recognize Wake in the coming weeks.

I am one of the 50 people that vote for All Pro and I voted for Wake. So we'll see. Meanwhile, the PFF/PFWA All NFL team and awards are below:

If RG3 comes back @ 90%...and the Skins win 2 SBs in the next 6 years....

Shanny will be praised as one the great coahes of his era....

and if you find a DYAMITE RB in the 6th RD...it doesn't hurt either.....

Congrats to Cam. He is a legit playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. A great find by the Tuna who plucked him from the CFL.

As another poster mentioned earlier, they guy lets his play do the talking for him. Unlike a particular overpaid free agent we signed a couple of years ago. It would be great if we could add a few more players like Cam Wake to this team.

lol @ my post......horrendous spelling....

So according to this, the Broncos should win the super bowl. The only thing that matters is the QB.

Talk about getting a good deal...

Russell Wilson has been the best quarterback bargain in the National Football League this season, his $390,000 salary breaking down to $32,500 for each of the Seattle Seahawks’ 12 wins.

Wilson’s rookie base salary is about 2 percent of the $18 million Peyton Manning is getting from the Denver Broncos this season, and the same as Manning’s backup, Brock Osweiler, who was taken 18 spots higher in the 2012 NFL draft. Manning cost the Broncos $1.2 million per win.

Randy just got the MEMO....lol....

welcome to EARTH RANDY....

The BEST QBs are generally in the playoffs year after year....

so while NO....the best QB may not always win....if you're gonna play the percentages....and want ton hyave a SHOT @ the SB year in and year out....

I guess some of the money the Seahawks saved on Wilson went toward paying Matt Flynn...

Save some on one qb, waste it on another. Seahawk fans probably aren't compaining, though.

Kris, I can't disagree. Even next year without RG3 could be a blessing. if Cousins comes in and puts up 10 wins - he will net Washington a first round pick - no doubt.

And I agree 100% about a Qb making all the difference. I beat that drum myself years ago. However, not every QB is ready to hit the street guns a blasting. Some take more time and this may be the case for Tannehill. I also contend RG3 and Wilson would not eb as successful as they both were if they didn't rely on the run so much. We shall see what happens in time.

personally, hoping we get 500 more yards and 7 more tds out of Tannehill next year while holding the INTs steady and at least maintaining our current run production. I think then you would see a drastically different Miami team.

before you get ALL TROLL-Y on me....

do you think the REDSKINS gave up 3 FIRST (1st) RD picks for RG3....because QB play is inconsequential to the outcome of games???

Skins proved one thing, if you get the QB position right, things will fall in line. I'm not even sure what happened to the defense (all of a sudden they got better), EXCEPT, they have a great turnover/takeaway stat (more takeaways than turnovers). That's how they were able to go on a 7 win roll.

Mike and Mike show today said EVERY team in the Playoffs right now was in the Top 12 of the league in takeaways. So Mark, when you were talking the other day about scoring defense stats, I would say takeaway is more important.

I think we need better production out of Tanne than even that....I'd like to see him in that 4,000 yard range....and 25 TDs....

anything less...and we'll be talking draft come January one again...imo....

Although both RG3 and Wilson do run with the ball, there seems to be a big difference in the way they do it...

Wilson tends to take off upfield, in the middle of the field, on some pass plays that just aren't open. He gets a fair amount of yardage with his speed, then generally slides before getting punished.

He does run the read option sometimes, but usually avoids the full contact by sliding. Not always, but seems like he avoids the hard hits most of the time.

when you're offense can SCORE points...the Defensive cooridinator can take more chances....if a guy gets burned (D. Hall)....chances are you will get those points back during the course of the game....

but the BEST part of having you're QB in place is that in a 16 game season....most likey in 12 or more of those games you will be playing with a LEAD from the 1st quarter on....

SO now your PASS RUSH IMPROVES..and you're RUN D looks better because people aren't rushing as much....

There is nothing wrong with the Dolfins that an elite QB wouldnt fix. If we had landed P Manning we'd go deep into the playoffs too.

i guess it all depends on expectations. The yardage thing, I say 3,900 - you say 4,000 - same difference. However, you are saying 25 tds, I say 20. I think a 3,900 yard 20 td, 12 INT season with a solid defense and running game puts them in the Cincinnati Bengal wild card scenario. I think this scenario makes everyone happy and maintains the staus quo for one more year.

However, if you are talking about a QB with 4,000 yards, 25tds, minimal mistakes with that same solid defense and running game then we are talking serious playoff contenders and Dolphins fans will be orgasming uncontrollably as this would exceed anyone's realistic expectations, IMO.

By the way Kris, the numbers you talk about woudl put Tannehill in Eli Manning country by 2012 comparatives. NYG had the 31st ranked defense though.

And DC, turnover ratio is the grat equalizer. You can give up yards but if you keep your own turnovers down and create a bunch you are in it. Case in point 2008 Miami Dolphins

Im so sick of the notion that we need to upgrade the OL, Weve been trying to do this for the 5 years!! Time to move on to prem positions. DE, WR, TE, RB these are the first priority that needs to be addressed. let Long fat a s s walk the ship has sailed on him a while ago. F u c k drafting CHase Wormack, I cant beleieve I read on the board that many of you wanted him, WTH are some of you thinking???

Weve had Pouncey and Long on the team, did that improve our team. F NO! Long was a turnstile and a freaking C isnt going to help you score points or prevent the opposing team from scoring. Cant believe some of you really want Long back at 10 million a year, thats what he wants

Turnovers are mostly obtained by superior skill, size, strength, quickness, better coaching. Its not just luck all the time.

I have high standards for the FINS QB...and QB play....

So if that puts him in Eli territory...then so be it...I will be expecting more the following year...and so on and so forth until he reaches Brees...Rodgers...Manning....Brady status...

and if Tanne Ceiling stops @ Joe Flacco/Tony Romo status....

then its time to look a little harder....

Agree Clue @ 11:19....

Kris, those should be our standards. But it's not reasonable to expect it coming out of the box as some here do. And it is reasonable to expect to win if his top level is at those 6-15 rated qbs in the NFL. Last I checked Rodgers, Brees, and Peyton only have one SB each. Ben won more than one as did Eli ...

You just have to do more work in finding pieces to fit around him.

And also agree that you should always try to find QBs somehow. Like how we found Devlin for example. Or even in the mid rounds of the draft. Always try to cultivate someone ...

I have done my best for this Blog, being selective, being humorous, even having my name, which is my real name, slandered. I guess I'll mosey along to Ohio's Blog and get away from these losers here.

Wow realist way to drop the obvious knownledge... Yeah he was still there in the 3rd round. So maybe if you were capable of reading comprehension you would understand my first post. Though it is more entertaining for you to believe you are smart and correct all the time...

Mark, is Tradition Home? NO WONDER I hate that a-hole! Now it's all making sense.

So is realist.

I've spent so much time going back and forth with that guy that I know his writing inside out. Those fukkers are Home!

The guy popping up as Fin 77 THIS MORNING? Also Home the turd.

Shula? He's Home too

Frank Ya know I never liked you

Oue OL is one of the best in football. No need to upgrade it if we sign Long. 30 other teams would love to have our OL.

Everyone is Home?? Really??

Wow what idiots on here! LOL

Mark gives misinformation and DC swears bye it. Hilarious!!!!!!!

Don't worry Tradition, I won't call you Home. I prefer a much more reflective word for who you really are. So, from now on, you will be referred to as "she" or "her".

I must say these out of touch out of towners are getting pretty amusing. I've never seen such misinformed nonsense coming out of their shytmouths. Just Hilarious!!

Kris, DC, and YG. I just went back and read your comments from yesterday that were posted after my self imposed timeout. Just wanted to thank you guys for putting things in perspective and for understanding my momentary lapse of sanity. I let it get to me and obviously shouldn't have. And I got too paranoid and called YG out for no good reason.

YG I do hope you can accept my apology and we can continue with the great conversations and debates we have had in the past.

Like you guys said, it doesn't matter who is who, find the good people and talk with them. DC's comment about the inside joke only being known by one person was right on. Thanks again.

Haha, DC - Home (Tradition, Realist, et all) are SHE like Terry Glenn.

Phins78, I know things can get heated from time to time. We are passionate people or we wouldn't be here. But don't go anywhere. You are part of what makes this blog enjoyable.

That Terry Glenn episode is how I care to remember Parcells. If I could only forget the Dolphins years, I'd have much more respect for the man.

So who does everyone have this weekend?

Not sure on the 49ers/Green Bay seems to be the best game of the weekend. Others could end up getting out of hand. Though I'd rather see some good games.

Thank you Mark. And I've been looking for a good story to talk about but nothing is happening! Can't wait for the games tomorrow but also can't wait for the season to be over so they can get this ball rolling. I'm sure we are all very anxious to see what the off season is going to bring.

Common, here's my list.

I see New England continuing their dominance in the playoffs.

I have the Broncos winning a close one at home.

I have the Falcons finally getting over the hump playing a Seahawks team that is bad on the road and also without Clemons which is going to open up all kinds of time for Matty ice.

And I have Harbaughs decision to screw his vet qb blowing up in his face as Rodgers shows the young QB how the game is played. I don't believe Kapernick will have enough experience to win in a close game against a savy veteran team.

Common, I have: Pats, Ravens, Falcons, Green Bay.

Pats because Brady will outplay Shaub (big surprise).
I think the Ravens will upset Broncos (going out on a limb, but taking into account Manning's Post-Season/Cold Weather record).
Falcons to me is the easiest one to pick, rookie phenom finally comes back to Earth.
Green Bay only because I don't think Kaepernick is experienced enough to make all the plays and not make mistakes for a Playoff win.

Phins78, I could see that happening.

I really don't trust Atlanta. Though I could see that one going the other way. I want to see Wilson have a big game (saw highlights of what Newton did to them, so could be promising).

As for SF, yeah if Kap doesn't get it done the offseason talks might get interesting out there. Alex Smith is a decent/good QB, not Tom Brady but certainly capable of leading a complete team.

I'd like to see the Broncos lose, kinda like the Ravens (especially since they fired Cam) but Manning might be too much.

Dee Milliner declares for the draft - Eddie Lacy too. DJ Fluker (Maybe a round 3 value at RT?)

This article should and needs to be Ireland's resignation. Lets export him out of Miami!!! Oh and by the way, whichever player remains on the roster should be working out with Cam wake.

If I were betting, I would take road points at all turns here. These games are all toss ups. But I don't bet because I'm not good enough to turn a profit at it ... so best not pay attention to this post.

what happened to yur uture wife, the greek GIRL?

PHINS 78 ,

Heh Mark I hear ya. Picking games is tough sometimes, points makes it a pain. I play in a football pool where you have to pick 5 by the spread. Not as easy as it sounds, lol.

Fluker, the Bama RT? (Don't really keep up with college).

CS, yeah, picked that up from an article where the 3 underclassmen I listed declared. Guess they're going to put their pursuit of PhD's in neuroscience on hold for now.

ALoco, I'm a RBA (Resident Blog Analyst).

ALoco, the Greek girl and I are getting married June 1.

And one more thing CS, I tried these pick em pools by spread and I could never do much better than a coin. Bad for the ego so I stopped doing them.

Hopefully, This Answers The Question. ARMANDO IS NOT A FIN FAN!!

Very Easy To Compare A Coach Who has Been On The Job 1 Season!! Against, A COACH WHO HAS BEEN COACHING HIS TEAM FOR OVER A DECADE!!

Very Easy To COMPARE!!

On RG3

Yes, He Got Hurt! And Personally I'm Not Happy About That! It's Just the Way They Are Playing Him! And Shanahan As A Coach! Are Not A Good Mix For A Player!

RG3 Should Be Healthy! Starting Next Season!!

But Some Changes Are Necessary!!

On the Coach!! And The Player!!

They Both Need To Realize!! RG3 Is Injury Prone!!

RG3 Needs To Run More Scared!! A la Russell Wilson!

And Shanahan Needs To Run More Than 1 Formation!!

Teach Him To Play Qb!! What You Drafted Him For!!

What Sherman is Doing With T-Hill!!

The Only 2 Rookie QB's That Were Developed This Year!! Were Luck and T'Hill!!

Luck cause he Threw Over 600 Passes From The Pocket!! And T-Hill BECAUSE Sherman Was Patient!! Each Week, Giving him a Little More!! And The Whole Not Having Wr's!! Also Helps!! Forced Him To Go Through His Progressions!!

Yes, Screens and Rollouts, would've been Nice!! But when You Have No OG's!! Or A Deep Threat!! The Whole Defense is allowed to play Close To The Line Of Scrimmage!! Like if they were Playing In The RED ZONE ALL GAME!! (Sherman Specialty is The Screen Game! Trust Me! Nobody was More Hurt! With Our Ability Not To Throw Screens Or Zone Runs Outside! Worst Than Sherm! Why Do You Think We Drafted L.Miller?)

Shanahan Didn't develop RG3! Carroll is Not Developing RW!! They are MAXIMIZING! What They Do! Not REALLY OPENING UP THE PLAYBOOK!! Just like they Did With Cam, Last Year!! How Did That Work out This Season? Cam went Over Half a Season Still Learning How To Play QB!!

We and The Coaching Staff!! Already Know What T'Hill Needs To Work At!! The Redskins Still Don't Know What RG3 is Capable Of!! They Just Know He Can Run The Pistol!! And That is The Real SHAME!! RG3 will BE RELEARNING A NEW OFFENSE!!

The Skins have a RB!! They Didn't Have To Force!! RG3 Into Running SO MUCH!!

That Also Falls On The Coach!!

If Irescum had one ounce of class he'd resign.

Houston will get destroyed. Other than johnson they got nothing at wideout. Decent tight ends ( better than ours). The rb's will be nuetralized due to playing catch up. Balt can beat denver. Rice and pierce? are talented and rice will get screens and swing passes to beat the blitze. Rodgers will win a shootout. Wilson could beat atlanta. Would hate to be a falcons player or coach if that happened.

Broncos Big
Packers Close
Falcons Maybe
Texans In A Upset

Even Though I Really Think The Pats Will Win!! I Always Like To Envision The Pats' Losing!!
