The postseason awards are starting to filter in now and at least one Dolphins player is being recognized for a great season:
Cameron Wake.
Wake was today voted to the 2012 All NFL team by Pro Football Weekly and the Professional Football Writers of America. This is deserved as Wake had a career-high 15 sacks in 2012. I am assuming the big award, the All Pro awards by the Associated Press, will also recognize Wake in the coming weeks.
I am one of the 50 people that vote for All Pro and I voted for Wake. So we'll see. Meanwhile, the PFF/PFWA All NFL team and awards are below:

.Tannehill is developing into another Chad Henne. He's just terrible. A huge dissapointment for a 1st rd pick. Dolphins better draft another QB or they'll repeat the Henne years again.
.As far as the playoffs, Atlanta, NE, Denver, move on. I lean toward SF over GB slightly. These are not my plays, just preliminary thoughts. I will be posting my picks just prior to game times for those that follow me.

I wouldn't know "Aloco", as I've told you over a dozen times, I don't work on roofs. Maybe you should be talking to a roofer and not a deck and enclosure contractor.

Common you're not alone there. No one trusts Atlanta because of their past failings in the playoffs. I believe they played better this year and I'm hoping that Smith and Ryan finally put the questions to rest. I think Seattle is a good team, not great. And I base this on their road record plus their inconsistent nature. I know a lot of people want to crown them kings of the NFL because they are in love with Russell Wilson but I would like them to prove something first before I buy into all of it.
Also I'm vindictive as hell so I would love to see the Broncos lose to the Ravens I just don't see it happening. But hell yeah that would be awesome. I don't want Manning getting another ring after snubbing our Phins. I hope they just get worse every year until he retires. That's the evil side of me talking and I'm fine with that. :)

..Dashi..Some good points. I don't think you could look at Tannehill and say he was a dissapointment. If anything he exceeded expectations of fans and the club from day 1(as far as this year goes)..Remember, if Garrard does not get hurt. Tannehill doesn't start this year, people forget that.
Go back and read the comments from April to the start of preseason. Many, myself included, did not think Tannehill would get an opportunity to start on his own merit. It would take injury from one of the Vets, or a horrible start to get him reps. Well the injury bug struck. Matt Moore played poorly in the preseason, and the Tannehill era began before 99 percent of us thought it would. (even if you were a believer that he should be the starter once he was drafted, Garrard had the job won)
IMO, what Tannehill did this season was more then prove he is capable of taking the reigns of this offense. Can he improve on some things? Were there some moments of poor play? Yes. There were times he missed recievers, there were times he held on to the ball to long, he stunk on third down. All things that experiene can help him overcome these mistakes. It was evident by his play the last quarter of the year that he was seeing the field better, making better decisons, and even spreading the ball to more recievers. He looked much more comfortable in the offense.
Posted by: DarrylDunphy | January 11, 2013 at 03:37 PM
What did Tannehill did prove this year is that he isnt a bust. Yes, there's tons of room for improvement.
My greatest 2013 concern regarding Tannehill is "regression". After regression, there no further room to fall than "bust".
So, far 2013, the least I want to see from Tannehill is "slight improvement". Regression would be "a huge bust red alert".These are the 2 most important things I'll be presonally watching for in 2013.

THERE HE IS!!!
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | January 11, 2013 at 03:50 PM
Also regarding Tannehill:
13 ints on the season, even for an elite qb is very good. Heck, 3 of those came in 1 game.
So, I'll take 13 ints for the season every single year of the kid's career. The only great mprovement needed is in his tds.
I would like to see him push his td total to 18-20, in the very least, for the coming 2013 regular season. Then we would be talking 60-80% improvement in td production alone over 2012. Just as long as he does raise the number of ints too.

Where's ALoco?
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | January 11, 2013 at 04:02 PM
Guys,
Do you know what sucks most about evaluating our offseason team needs?
Having positions properly addressed in previous seasons. Far to much "double-tracking" by the fo. Whether Parcells fault, Ireland's fault, or a little bit of both. Its also been a combination of both when its come to not pulling the triggeron certain players via draft.
So here we are again, still talking positions that should have been properly addressed 3-4yrs ago. Closest to mind are TE, CB's, WR, and complimentary pass rusher to Wake.
Oh yeah, also the og position, on the oline.

Mark,
All opf you guys that always complain of trolls, seemed to love keeping "trollish behavior" alive and well here. Are you guys bi-polar or something?
My question is when will guys who complain the most, try and separate themselves most from that which they complain?

Wow you filthy rich bigots!! Plumbers make a decent living (26 to 52 dollars an hour ;if they work for a contractor ,a lot more if they have their own business )Thank you very much?
Posted by: SimsPlaya | January 11, 2013 at 04:11 PM
..Yg..I agree. 13 ints is no big deal. Especially for a rookie asked to throw as many times as Tannehill.(only Luck had more attempts) It gets inflated because of his low TD totals. His interceptions for the most part were not game deciders ala Henne. They did not come at times in the game where it tilted the balance. Even the jet game where he threw the pick 6 we had an opportunity to win the game. With the exception of Luck, Tannehill was asked to do more in this offense then a Griffen, or Wilson, even Weeden. Knowing how inexperienced he is, I would say that the int totals shouldn't be a major concern. If he had the attempts in the range of Griffen or Wilson..sure.

Some here seem to hate when thier being trolled, but, love the hell out of it, when thier the ones doing the trolling. I dont get it?
I neither love being trolled, nor trolling anyone else. When will some here "open thier eyes to see" that making false accusatory remarks is the exact same as trolling?
So when falsely accusing others of trolling, count yourself in on the party.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone 4Ever! | January 11, 2013 at 04:15 PM
personally, hoping we get 500 more yards and 7 more tds out of Tannehill next year while holding the INTs steady and at least maintaining our current run production. I think then you would see a drastically different Miami team.
Mark.
I think those are reasonable expectations for Tannehill but that's also assuming he has someone to throw the ball to. Right now we're looking at a WR corp of Bess, Matthews, & Binns which is beyond pathetic.
As for the 'current run production' that needs to change. This season produced too much inconsistency & if it doesn't improve then expect another losing season.
I'm actually starting to think that we're not going to keep Hartline. I don't think Bush will be back either but I do believe in the end we'll wind up overpaying to keep Long.
Posted by: We Have Draft Picks | January 11, 2013 at 04:16 PM
DD, I actually think the low INT total is the reason to be the most optimistic about tannehill. Like you said, he wasn't hidden at all by this coaching staff and for the most part made great decisions. I think it bodes well for the future.
YG, yes it does appear you fly off the ahndle a bit when YG and ALoco are mentioned in the same breath. ALoco is one of my favourite bloggers ... you, not so much. I'm torn now if inded you two are the same person. it's like finding out Santa doesn't exist ...

Here is a stat from "footballdb.com" Tannehill against Brady in the Dec 30th game.
Tannehill 20/35 235 yds. 0 TD, 1 Int. Long ball 22 yds was sacked 7 times. Phins rushing was 14/47 yards.
Brady 22/36 284 yards. 2 TD, 0 Int. Long ball 26 yards.
Brady completed passes to 6 different players out of which he has played with 5 of them for a few years.
Tannehill completed passes to 7 different players who he has never thrown to before this season.
Our O line failed to protect and there was no running game.
Not bad for a rookie QB against Brady.
Posted by: Opti/Pessi Mist | January 11, 2013 at 04:19 PM
DD,
Guys like Brady usually average about 10-13 picks a year. Thats a very good number. So, anyone using the int number to declare Tannehill bust, only prove they are clueless about what are indicators and what are not indicators of this.
Now if that number gets around 18-20 ints in 2013, then the yello light comes on, or it had better because he had over 600 passing attempts.

WHDP, whatever plan the braintrust has, it better improve the offense significantly. Can't compete when you are 15th in rushing or so and 21st in passing. You either have to be top 3 in rushing if that's your pass offense or around 10th in passing with a 15th rush offense to compete. Right now, I don;t care how they get it done, just get it done. I don't care about teh names on the back of the jerseys, I care about the logo on the side of the helmet!
