Cameron Wake is All NFL

The postseason awards are starting to filter in now and at least one Dolphins player is being recognized for a great season:

Cameron Wake.

Wake was today voted to the 2012 All NFL team by Pro Football Weekly and the Professional Football Writers of America. This is deserved as Wake had a career-high 15 sacks in 2012. I am assuming the big award, the All Pro awards by the Associated Press, will also recognize Wake in the coming weeks.

correct me if I am wrong....

but I thought Tampa Bay with Mike Alsott ran a WCO....

might be wrong tho....

..Kris..Yeah. Roger Craig would definitley bruise you with those knees!!! Lol

I get wanting a fullback for goal line situations. I just think a big back at tailback is taking another step back to an offense of yesterday. I could be totaly wrong, and a big donkey puncher is what we need. I just think that we should be looking for explosive, quick guys to be feature type, even rotational backs.

The running game will imrpove with help on the OL. Draft Chance Warmack, resign Long, and sign OG Levitre from Buffalo. Having a great OL is the key to a dominant running game and an effective passing game.

I would draft 2 receivers and a TE with the last 4 picks. Perhaps bring in WR Jennings if you can get him for under 6 Million. I would let Bush Walk, no way you pay 5 million dollars for a 3rd down receiver. The guys we have now (Miller and Thomas), can run for as many yards as Bush in a season if they had the opportunities. Bush is taking playing time away from Thomas and Miller. I agree with fin4life in that Miller was brough in to replace Bush in the future and that he dropped down in the draft because of injuries. I remember in early mocks Miller was projected as a late 1t round pick.

Craig M/ Kris,

Ryan better have his A game for that Seahawks D and I like what Seattle does on O out of the 3 WR set with Lynch in the backfield holding the LB's and keeping the Safety's honest, no slight on Ryan but he's drawing for the 3rd straight Yr.(2010 G.B. 2011 Giants) one of the hottest teams going into the post season.

I'm not talking about game one last Yr. alone we looked lethargic going into Oct. and how about the infamous .500 and under Sept. starts for all of Sparano's tenure??

...dadsmithwest...Great line."Losing some of these guys to FA means we create an opporunity to significantly improve" Well said. I couldn't agree more. Now the issue is which free agents? This is the grand debate.

I am so conflicted by that game (ATL v. Seahawks)....

My FANDOM want the Seahwaks to win.....

My head wants Ryan to get over the hump.....

I guess its win-win for me....or lose-lose....either way....

I'm leaning tward lose-lose...

I agree with you Orlando and fin4life about Miller. Miller had 50 carries for a 4.9 avg. Something about that says he doesn't deserve a chance to be the #1? I wouldn't mind drafting a couple WR's and a TE. They need to give Tannehill a lot of weapons.

Bush simply does not hit the hole hard and dances around too much. I say we improve the OL and draft a RB in the 4th or 5th round. Also don't forget about the FA rookie RB Jonas Gray, the fins took a flier on him by sitting him out his first year but his highlight at ND were impressive.

My offfensive line would be: Martin LT, Warmack LT, Pouncey C, Levitre RG, and Long RT. It won't matter what RB you have, the backs will be successfull with that OL. If you saw Alabama, it was that OL that took over the game.

...I am psyched for tonights game..I think that the Niners are going to destroy Green Bay. For a couple of reasons. The Niners can stop the run without bringing a saftey into the box. They can then play with 2 deep safties, and rush the passer with no abandon. The Packers have to get the Niners out of cover 2 to have a chance, and this will not happen if they cannot run the ball.

Defensivley, The Pack are healthier, and maybe a bit better then they get credit for. I still think they will have trouble stopping San Frans run game, which like the Seahawks allows them to throw off playaction. I think the Niners easily cover tonight.

The irony in tonights game. Is that once the playoffs start even the pass teams have to find some run balance to have a chance at winning.

Darryl D....

Again...we disagree....

My money (figuratively)....is on the PACK....

I think that teams that can SCORE give the 9ers problems....the ELITE teams....that.....the 9ers had just been embarrassed by seattle...and the PATS had just destroyed the Texans when they met back in week 13 (i think)....it was the perfect recipe for a 9ers big win....and they almost let them OFF THE HOOK....

The PACK is in the mold of the PATS...and that is why I think they win......score...score...score...and then score some more....

If the PACK falls behind 14 or 17 nothing...we know they can comeback...

the 9ers....

not so much...

PACK BIG...imo...

I agree with you here the way he dances around the line of scrimmage drives me nuts and Miller had his issues in pass protection but when handed the ball hit the hole with more authority, I don't get the Bush man crush and posted hating the trade when it was done because I liked Darren Sproles better who costed less in base pay and came free in the FA market. Some of the people that have been posting here for a long time might remember having that discussion with me. Take into consideration that in order to run for 1,000 yards you only need average about 63 yards a game hardly BANK breaking stuff when bringing up his 1,078 yards in 2011.

Good talking football with MOST of you guys in here that want to do as much....

Disagreement without disrespect....if it could only work this way all the time.....

Oh WELL.....

Enjoy the games.....

I'm hosting today (last saturday another friend did)....

gotta get the house stocked and ready.....

Happy Playoff weekend to all....

The only concern about the 3 RBs that we have is their propensity for injuires. Miller, Thomas, and Gray have been injury prone. Thus, taking a gamble on Lattimore or another RB in the 4th round would be wise.

Again, Bush will not be back. He is not an every down back in the NFL. He is a 3rd down back and you cannot pay 5 million for a guy like that. I would resign all of my starting FAs except for continuity except for Bush. Resign: Long, Hartline, Fasano, Clemmons, Starks, and Smith. I am not crazy about Smith but that would open up another hole and we would then have to draft a CB with one of our first 2 picks and maybe force us to draft another one early. We want to concentrate on offense in the draft. First 3 picks should be spent on offense. This scenario would make me happy: 1A Warmack, 2A Travon Austin, 2B Zach Ertz.

..Kris..How about this..A friendly wager. If the Niners win I get to claim "BURN" if the Pack win you can tell me I suck and am a know nothing blowhard!

: Kris | January 12, 2013 at 12:30 PM

The 49ers NEVER played the same after that 2nd half MELTDOWN in N.E. were there top-3 vaunted D came unglued. If I were in the NFC I would rather see them right now.

Harbaugh is a jerk, he has shown it many times. I hope they get crushed.

The thing about the 49ers Vs. G.B. is the GOD AWFUL OL the Packers are taking to S.F.

..fin4life...That is my point. If they can't run it, they won't be able to get the Niners out of Cover 2, and Rodgers is going to get pressured. I see him throwing a couple of picks too. Now if the Pack find a running game? I will look like a freekin idiot(again)

The problem with running on the 49ers is Navarro Bowman and P.Willis in the middle.

The Nines and Aldon haven't been the same since Justin Smith went down. Aldon Smith's production went WAY down. After BLOWING the game last year at home against the Giants, the pressure will be on this year for the Niners to get it done. How much impact Justin Smith is able to have could be a factor.

Also, Chris Clemmons missing for Seattle today could be another big loss. Team is playing well and with good emotion but I think they are due to run out of gas at some point. Could be today if Ryan and the Falcons can step up.

Craig M,

Justin Smith is playing today and I agree about Aldon Smith and his production especially when teams run right at him like Seattle did. In Seattle the real impact of the Clemmons loss is in their run D given Irvin can pass rush but is suspect here.

Don't forget Atl. is minus J.Abraham as well.

I'm pulling for Seattle, GB, Hou and Bal bacause that will cause the greatest humiliation for the greatest number of fans.

I realize that Justin Smith is going to play today but how much do you think he'll be a factor and how much do you think he'll play?

I was also under the impression that Abraham would play but not a whole bunch. Am I wrong?

This team cant afford to lose any starters to FA. And they can easily afford to sign all of them AND add to it.

I especially want Kaepernick to fail so that Harbaugh looks like an a s s hole.

Looks like TMH is back to "Pay For Play" to read thier articles. LOL...

What are they going to do let some FA's walk and rely on Irescum to replace them? Hilarious!

My offseason

Resign - Long (2yr), Hartline (3yr),Clemons (2yr) and Starks (2yr)

Let walk- Bush,SMith

Cut- Patterson, Marshall,

FA- Sign GB FA Greg Jennings,NY TE Martellius Bennett, Jax CB Derek Cox

trade down to early 20's for extra 2nd pick

1st (20's)- FSU CB Xavier Rhodes

2nd- ND TE Tyler Eifert (I think he drops a bit and Ertz becomes the #1 TE in the draft

2nd- Tenn WR Cordarrelle Patterson

2nd- Ala OL Barrett Jones (can play OG, OT, and C), he can excel at all positions

3rd- Ohio State DE John Simon

3rd- WV WR Stedman Bailey (Speed, good route runner, and good hands)

4th- Van S Kenny Ladler

Rest BPA

What a colossal waste of time you people are engaged in.

Nobody cares what you think and you don't have anything interesting or important to say, anyway.

You are simply babbling on obsessively about a stupid GAME that doesn't mean a damn thing or have the slighest actual importance in this world.

Most of you are probably social misfits with stunted intellectual abilities.

It's repulsive.

Henry, they certainly have no life. Heck, Dolfin season is over.

I like your plan bk, except you may be drafting too many WRs. Under your plan you would have Jennings, Hartline, Patterson, Bess, and Bailey at WR. One or two of those receivers would get no playing time. You also have Reshard Mathews who has shown promise and could develop. Perhaps we can use the Bailey pick to draft a RB like Monte Ball (love this kid). The toughest thing would be to find a partner willing to give you their second pick to move up. Remember last time the fins traded the 12th pick they had to drop all the way down to 28th to draft Odrick and took Misi in the second.

Your OL looks good. Martin LT, Barret Jones LG, Pouncey C, Incognito RG, Long RT. I don't know much about the Jax CB.

Henry, what is even worst is you don't care about any of this and you are wasting your time reading all these posts LOL. What are you doing reading these boring blog, surely there must be something out there you could be doing.

Some people have way too much free time. And are worshipping arguably the worst FO in the league.

TO BE.......

Henry, what is even worst

Posted by: Orlando Dolphan | January 12, 2013 at 02:44 PM

You see? THIS is what I'm talking about!

What is even "worst?!?" The proper word there is WORSE, you intellectual titan. Something you should have learned in 5th-grade English.

Why don't you lean to express yourself coherently in the English language rather than waste yet more time on this pointless and futile blog?

My offseason

To increase attendance either lower ticket prices by 20% or fire Ireland.

Offer the 1st rd pk for Philip Rivers

Move Tanny to WR

Draft a TE

Draft another TE

Henry, please touch me in a special and intimate way.

The Dolphins deserve your supporter.

This is what I would do if I was the GM:

Sign Greg Jennings

Re-sign Brian Hartline

Trade 3rd round pick for Percy Harvin

Sign Maurice Jones-Drew

Trade 3rd round pick for Jermichael Finley

Draft Dee Milliner from Alabama at 12

Draft o-line help in the second round

Stay tuned until I come back shortly with the correct plan for this team.

I think this and that and that and this and will give you the details.

I realize I have an audience here of maybe 10 people who have no say or influence in anything whatsoever.

If you think this babble here has any more relevance than teenage girls talking about eye-shadow, you are grossly mistaken.

...dadsmithwest...Great line."Losing some of these guys to FA means we create an opporunity to significantly improve" Well said. I couldn't agree more. Now the issue is which free agents? This is the grand debate.

We can debate it to death but even the people who cover this team don't have a clue. They've all flip-flopped on whether we're going to keep certain players like Smith, Long, & Bush. The opinion on Long from the beat writers seems to change every day. No one other than our player personnel staff & our coaches have a clue at this point.

I honestly hope they have a plan to keep Hartline b/c if we lose the best WR on our team who exceeded EVERYONE'S expectation this year then I'm afraid this franchise is even more f#cked up than I thought. But hey, at least we'll have a new logo...

This is what I would do if I was the GM:

Sign Greg Jennings

Re-sign Brian Hartline

Trade 3rd round pick for Percy Harvin

Sign Maurice Jones-Drew

Trade 3rd round pick for Jermichael Finley

Draft Dee Milliner from Alabama at 12

Draft o-line help in the second round

If we did two or three of those things I'd be happy. Bear in mind that MJD is still under contract with the Jaguars.

I don't think Smith is coming back to Miami so the one that I believe is the most likely is drafting Dee Milliner IF he's still on the board at 12. I just don't have confidence that Ireland will re-sign Hartline or get Jennings.

TO BE.......

Dumbest post in the history of Dolphins in Depth.

There are maybe 3 different opinions here on what to do at each position, which you have all been endlessly regurgitating for weeks.

Doesn't it get old? Boring? What new can be said?

Still, it will be the same exact posts ad nauseam until the draft.

I think I would take ANY poster on here over Ireland including the posters I dont paticulary like.

$47 Mil In Cap!!

Resign Long! That's It!! Fins Should Still Be Left With Over $40 Mil In Cap!! Even If They Pay Jake!! $10-$12 Mil A Yr! The First 2-3 Years His Cap Number Will Be Around $7-8 Mil!!

Reggie IS NOT THAT GOOD!! STATISTICALLY!! Karim Abdul-Jabbar was a Better Dolphin RB!! ENOUGH SAID!!

Hartline Is A Maybe!! At The Right Price!! And With DR as His Agent!! Don't Expect him to be back!

Starks And Smith!! Are OK!! And A Bigger Priority!! Than BH OR BUSH! BUT STILL NOT A TOP PRIORITY!!

Back To $50 Mil In Cap!

On Offense

G.Jennings and/or Hartline
A Mid Level TE
Another Mid Level WR, If We Can't Sign Both Jennings and BH!
A Mid Level OG

On Defense

J.Byrd Or E.Reed, Preferably Byrd because he is Young!! And I Want To Hurt The Bills!
CB from Jax, Or CB From B-More
R.Maualaga, MLB from Cincy
D.Smith, OLB from Jax.
A DE, Mid Level

On The Draft

1- BPA, Out Of LB, Womack, WR, CB, DE, FS
2a- BPA, Wr, TE
2b- BPA, WR, OG, TE
3a- BPA, WR, OG, TE, FS, LB, DE
3b- BPA, FS, LB, DE
4b- BPA, LB, OG, RB, DE, TE, CB
5- BPA, RB, OG, OT, LB, DE, DT
6- BPA, K, OT, DT, WR, TE
7- BPA, K, TE, WR, O-Line, D-Line

Ideal Draft

1- Womack
2- TE
2- WR
3- FS
3- WR
4- DE
4- LB
5- RB
6- OG
7- K

Chat for Chit,

How's this:

Sign #1 WR Road Runner and TE He Man in fa.

#12 Superman CB

2a. Aqua Man #2 WR

2b. Underdog CB

3a. Incredible Hulk OG

3b. The Great Wall of China LT

4. The Rubberband Man DE

How's this look so far?

I also like the idea of drafting 2 of the 3 best TE's in the draft.

Then we have a Brady-like attack that features a 2 TE passing attack that both drives the ball down the field and puts defenses in "redzone no mercy" inside the 20.

Then sign a fa wr and draft a wr.

After weeks of endlessly gushing about Teo, suddenly you don't mention him again.

I wonder why.

FLACCO WOWZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

60 yd perfect pass

Yes 73,

That was a perfect pass. Liked the Ravens in this game, but would prefer the Broncos win.

If you think this babble here has any more relevance than teenage girls talking about eye-shadow, you are grossly mistaken.

Every obsessive poster here should be required to have those words taped to their computer.

Hey, no relevance but the blog sure is fun and relaxing.

I have a mule that collects logs.

Did you hear me?

Great game and some of the best players ever on the field.

This is a real good game.

I hope that everyone is watching the importance of good OL play. These QBs have all time to throw. I know that some of you out there want to sacrifise the OL for skilled positions but these QBs have a ton of time to throw. We need to make sure our OL is solid going into next year. Lets sign Levitre in FA, resign Long, and draft Warmack. Sign Jennings in FA, draft WR Austin (2a) and Ertz/Fauria (2B).
