List of potential UFAs according to NFLPA

The National Football League Players Association annually releases the list of potential unrestricted and restricted free agents coming to market in March. That release comes during the Super Bowl.

Today, the NFLPA released the list. And I have it for you.

Remember this list can change as teams typically try to sign their own players they have targetted prior to the start of free agency. So some players on this list won't hit free agency. But most will.

By the way, many of you have asked for an update on the Brian Hartline negotiations because those talks with the Dolphins wide receiver affect what Miami does both in the draft and free agency at a position of utmost need. I'm told the talks continue. But nothing is imment.

So there's that.

The list by team:

Big time names there but many of those won't make the day.

I would like for us to get Jairus Byrd but there's not a chance in hell Buffalo lets him go.

lets get to march 1 and free agency

I salivate at some names there that are reachable for Us. But yes, less wait.

would love amedola

I don't know what "imment" means but I hope you have another beer, lol.

OK FINFANS

READY FOR THE POLL OF THE DAY?

WHO IS THE BIGGER JACKASS?

1) DAN MARINO

2) LANCE ARMSTRONG

3) JEFF IRELAND

4) TIGER WOODS

Massive roster turnover every year makes being an NFL fan more difficult. That and the obsurd number of tv commercials are probably the two worst.

Bills OG Andy Levitre is interesting (and realistic?) aside from the obvious players at WR.

5.POLLSTER

Sign Joe Flacco.

For me, the first order of business should be Greg Jennings. Best scheme fit, best character, the right leader to add to help Tannehill's continued growth. And of the 'big 3' at WR, the cheapest.

It will be nice when we figure out who resigns with us so we know which FA's they may target.

WR is pretty obvious and we've all debated who we like. I wonder if with all the rumors floating around if Jennings isn't the big name their targeting.

There are some names there that are 4-5 y/o Players in the League. Those are not going to be let go that easily by their Teams. Make'em an offer they can't refuse.

Sign Ted Ginn Jr. He has a nice family.

Is there a better cb on that list than Sean Smith??

How'bout Rodgers-Cromartie?

There is no excuse for committing adultry. Marino is scum.

It's not adultry, it is adultery.

I kind of like Rodgers-Cromartie because he was a local star out of Bradenton but I think the Eagles seem to have the same opinion of him that some have about Smith. They don't think he has proven he is worth top corner pay.

Personally I woudn't mind us signing Smith and Rodgers-Cromartie and cutting Marshall and Patterson.

Then draft another in the 2nd or 3rd rd.

I think that the fins will stick with most of their FAs (Clemmons, Smith, Starks, Fasano, Garner and Hartline, and MAYBE Bush if he comes cheap). Long and Moore walk, Marshall or Patterson get cut. The pressure from the fans and owner make Ireland sign a WR (probably Wallace or Bowe). This means that the biggest needs going into the draft will be: 1. CB, 2. RT, 3. TE.

In giving this some thought, I think that the fins will select CB Banks with their 1st round pick, followed by a RT and a TE. A WR group that includes Wallace/Bowe, Hartline, and Bess is not bad. TEs Fasano and Ertz and RT Lane Johnson would be nice. Hopefully some nuggets in the 3rd round and beyond. I can live with an off season that goes in that direction.

It is really hard to follow that long list. I would rather see Armando write an article that talks about the top 5 at each position, especially at positions where the fins have need.

Front office is going sll out this year. Dont be surprised to see big changes on the roster folks

Pass rusher is our best move imo if we have this high a pick
they are so hard to find

dolfandave,

I am with you but I beleive that Ireland really likes Vernon and is going to give him a chance to prove himself. If they draft a pass rusher, what happens to Vernon? I am not sure about Vernon as I don't remember him being that great at UM. He just never made that many plays. Unless there is a pass rusher that Ireland is really crazy about at 12, he will go in another direction.

No chance, buddy. We want Dustin Keller here along with Rodgers-Cromartie. Then we draft 2 or 3 of those hugely talented WRs, DEs and Ss in this Draft.

Yeah, we need a RT also. So many holes to fill!

Here's a question. I had the first post in this blog. I wrote, "is it March 2nd yet? Wake me up then". Admittedly not the greatest post but whatever, this is America, and much worse posts have been allowed through.

Someone else wrote something similar right after me. But I come back in and both of our posts were deleted and replaced with posts by Oscar. A couple of weeks ago same thing happened. Perfectly acceptable first post of the blog which I wrote is deleted and replaced,,,,,WITH A POST BY OSCAR!!!!!

Any theories?

Armando could you please explain?

Jennings has been 7 years in the League but receivers seem to last longer. A good option for THill.

Hopefully the Fins have a good plan of attack. It has to include re-signing 3-4 of our own. Like oscar said,so many holes.

Beats me also, Phins78. I'm no fool, I also noticed. Let them ride along, eventually we'll find out.

I'm not even sure it's Armando, 78. Sometimes I have found my name changed in the space to post, and other things. Some guy here with computer ability and with a warped sense of Humor.

Donnie Avery and Brandon Gibson would be pretty good upgrades at WR for Dolphins should they miss on Wallace and Jennings or not want to pay their much sought after contracts.

Lol, just read a few more. Dusty basically said the same thing I did in the 3rd post. Almost word for word.

So maybe Armando didn't like that I didn't talk about the list? Like the first post of a new thread should be about the story?

And how many times do you actually talk football oscar? Not a biggy we all go off topic but here is something I've noticed. Every time your post is the first and second post it seems you are right on point. You speak directly to the point of the story. But many times I have read your posts (which I have no problem with) and they have nothing to do with anything that is going on in here. These are the posts in the middle of the blog.

How do you seem to know Armando's unwritten rule?

We have to sign all our FA'a because Irescum can fill any holes.

cant

A WR group that includes Wallace/Bowe, Hartline, and Bess is not bad. TEs Fasano and Ertz and RT Lane Johnson would be nice. Hopefully some nuggets in the 3rd round and beyond. I can live with an off season that goes in that direction.

Orlando, That WR gruop would be awesome. I would be really surprised if that happened. It would more likely be one of the top 3 FA's, Bess, Hartline, and a top rookie.

WTH are you talking about, 78. I write whatever comes out of my Ballss.

Oscar did Armando ever say anything about staying on point on the first page? Did I miss a meeting? Maybe there were 20 posts but yours was the first one on point so it was allowed to stay?

I don't know, I'm just sick of the stupid games and wish the people operating the blog would share the rules with us.

I'm guessing that there are 20,000 people in the US that would be much better GM's then Ireland. So how does he STILL have a job?

I go off topic because of the lack of imagination and senseless repetitions of most Posters here. Also, their very childish sense of Humor. Children basically.

BLOG RULES

1) NO SUBJECT IS TABOO

2 DONT IMPERSONATE

But don't you see,78? That comment you made would have killed the topic of discussion. No right to delete it though, I didn't agree fully with it and I wanted to discuss FAs.

Filth and racism appear to be ok

Did I offend you? Whomever, just a question. If so tell me so I can apologize if I was wrong. Holding a grudge is unhealthy. And if you don't tell me and don't give me a chance to explain or apologize just drop it. Otherwise you might as well buy a dress and find a good man to take care of. I'm done guys, sorry. Back to football.

I can't wait til March either 78...I'm even tired of hearing myself speculate. We'll see if all BS or not soon enough.

Canes are 7-0 in the ACC btw. Unbelievable.

Me no like Mike Wallace. Too young to help THill.

I hear ya Oscar. It does get repetitive in here and don't get me wrong, I appreciate the change of pace and do enjoy most of your posts. I do the same thing and go off topic plenty so I'm not judging you for that.

Filth and racism appear to be ok

Yes, Dashi(Odin) and Phins 78 are still here.

D Rick--Brent Grimes is the top CB on the list, easily......and should be a target of the Fins, along with WR

Canes #1

lower the FA expectations folks.....be pleasantly surprised instead of likely disappointed--sure, signing 2 FA WRs (or 2 high level FAs in general) would be great, but unlikely (uh, 25-30 other teams might be interested too)--1 top tier and 1 solid/decent starter would be reasonable, and not bad if we sign a few of our better FAs.....anything more would be gravy.

I agree benz. Lots of different scenarios possible. Hopefully they'll hit the jackpot on a couple of wr's.

I'm ready to see that fast paced multiple formation offense they promised running like a well oiled machine.

The CB position is thin in FA and the draft. We are going to have to draft a CB (probably 1st round) and resign Smith. I am not a big fan of Smith but he has the bull by the horns. To top it off, CBs are extremely expensive. Marshall was paid 5.5 million a year to play nickel corner. Expect Sean Smith to be looking for a contract that pays him around 8 Milion a year. Unfortunately, we may have no choice but to pay it. We cannot afford to go into next season with Nolan Carrol and a rookie CB as our starters.

Rick that's all I was saying and thank you. We have been over free agency in gut wrenching detail on a daily basis in here. Lets just get it going already this topic is old. But of course there is nothing to talk about right now so I won't begrudge anyone their right to discuss. I just can't bring myself to keep repeating who I want signed. Like Oscar said, the repetition is excruciating.

Which means I should just leave and let you guys go about your business. :)

Oscar,

Try 3-4yr players. 1st rd'ers usually sign 5yr-6yrs contracts. They never become restricted fa's. All of the rest sign %yr contracts, but are "eligible for fa" in the 4th yr of thier contract.

Since technically they are still "under contract" to their present team. Their present team must be compensated for their departure.

Undrafted rookie fa's are usually under 3yr contracts max. Just like Bess was until getting extended. So there will be many indrafted rookie fa's on this list too. No 1st rd'ers period.

benz,

You are right on. We are better of siging the players we know, than to over pay for FAs. That is the route that the Eagles and previously the Redskins took and we saw how that turned out.

I am with you sign one top FA (hopefully a WR), and another decent starter (perhaps Dustine Kellar) and then resign most of our FAs. Resign Hartine, Starks, and Smith for sure. In the end this year will be about the development of Tannehill. If he is the true savior, he will make Ireland's decisions look good this year.

Before I go. ALoco, we have had our differences but I will say this. I cut down on the swearing because of you. You're right and there is no reason for it. A point can be made without using foul language.

But you still owe me an apology!
