What must happen for the Dolphins to be Super Bowl good?

The NFL season ends today with the crowning of the Super Bowl 47 champion.

Tomorrow we begin a new season. As I write here many fans and even some teams will study the Ravens and 49ers to see if they can find clues or reasons both those teams are Super and everyone else, well, isn't.

So I gave you my opinion. What's your's?

What must happen for the Dolphins to become a Super Bowl team? No, I don't believe the distance between them and the playoffs is that great. Three or four more wins and the Dolphins are a playoff team. But a Super Bowl team?

That gulf is wide, in my opinion.

Still, can the Dolphins bridge that gap in a couple of years, as the 49ers went from 6-10 in 2010 to the NFC championship game in 2011 and the Super Bowl today?

What must happen for that to happen?

You must realize that not all People have the same amont of Ability. When we Cubans came here, Miami was a sleepy, Southern Town placed in the middle of a Swamp. As Engineers we were, we started buying cheap, huge acres of Land and filling it more solidly an building, Building. Some Years ago, my HSmate, gifted the Freedom Tower to the City of Miami, in front of AA Arena. Tall building, check it out.

In most cities, Monday at work people are at the water cooler talking about the game. Here they are just getting water! Most don't even know who Marino is. Really. It's a largely foreign born population with no interest in American football, so they certainly aren't going to pay high prices to see a game.

Here is the capper right here, TRUE STORY... I asked a coworker this morning if he watched the game. He said no, he took his wife to the drive-in!!!! The drive-in????? I had no idea they even existed anymore.

Well, that is the kind of football town this is. Ross is fighting a losing battle.

You must try to visit Coco Plum, Star Island. But I'm afraid they won't let you in there, YG. LOL

PS: You can thank the Dulles Brothers(secretary of state and head of the CIA), mostly the CIA for the plight of the Cubans and the Cuban Invasion.

It was actually Kennedy's 11th Hour back door deal with Kruschev that sold everybody out on that Beach head but every time I have that conversation there will be some new name poster like Sonny (troll) looking to spew his brand of bigoted racism and I'm just not in the mood to get baited yet again.

Interestingly it was those same Gangsters you mention led by Santos Traficante, Carlos Marcello and Johhny Rosselli (Luciano in exile) who were contracted by the CIA to take Castro out and in what amounts to a story that is a long Comedy of errors were even toxins to make Castro's beard fall out were attempted they failed.

Some conspiracy buffs will tell you that it was this alliance that has kept the Kennedy assassination shrouded in such secrecy and intrigue for 49 years now but at the end of the day anything is possible when you take into account that Truman pardoned some of Hitler's worst GESTAPO henchmen to form the CIA to begin with (a FACT along with Von Braun founding NASA) something as Americans we should all be conflicted about but the USSR was doing the same so you chalk it up to a bye product of the Cold War.

We have enough $ to cover for their ignorance, Sonny.

Well, it's just about time to start monitoring the Tweeter Feeds of all the NFL Agents that subscribe.

Which is a large percentage of the egotistical jackasses!

Anywhoo, great way to get some early insider info on any pending contracts/negotiations.

This of course is only for the Football Junkies among us!

ValHalla!!!!

Ross knows about It.

Sonny,

I'm also Old enough to remember the Miami you mention, lots of Old Jewish folks walking around Miami Beach with numbers tattoo'ed on their arms telling Horror stories about their time in Hitler and Stalin's Europe(VERY SAD AND TREATED LIKE PARIAHS BUY SONNY'S UTOPIAN SOUTH FL. COMMUNITY) and yes in the Winter the Eden Rock and Hilton were packed with North East Money escaping the Cold(that was the Season of local tourist cash which now swings Yr. round)

Back in those days Miami basically ended on Le Jeune with everything West of that the boon docks and the reason US-27 or Krome Ave. was a necessary St. Rd. given it was the best access point to Miami's other great contribution, the great Homestead Orange, Lime and Mango groves, ahhhhh yes those were the Glory days of Miami indeed!!

No bigotry here. None. I've slandered nobody. Bigotry would be coloring reality. I've said nothing that isn't so.

oscar,

I dont play well with rich and snoody people. I play well with the rich, but I dont do snoody at all. LOL...

If you want to talk politics, well there is enough dirt on all sides to fill up the internet. I'm not talking politics or racism, just noting the changes over time.

go finsssssssss

Swings year round? My how your memory has faded. South Florida has been a ghost town outside of high winter season for years now. From Miami to Ft Lauderdale, several areas that used to be jumping are totally dead in the off season especially on week nights. Many little neighborhood restaurants with empty dining rooms. Things have changed drastically. Florida was also one of the most severely hit states during the financial crisis and it shows. Every single apartment building around has a for vacancy now.

Let's stick to reality.

For your Eyes only. From the highest level of the Cuban government, "The Bay of Pigs invasion was carefully designed by the CIA... to fail". Now that I published this here, either they come after whomever has read my Post, or do nothing. I don't know... HOHO!

What is snoody, YG? I like to learn.

The Kennedy presidency was a disaster, but the media prefers to focus on his charm to create an image for our young. It's all propaganda.

The truth does not come to you, you have to go to it.

Kennedy was hoodwinked by the highest levels of this Coutry here at that time and by Fidel Castro(a great political chess Player). No match. They wanted to get rid of him...and they did it. Also, only for your Eyes.

No bigotry here. None. I've slandered nobody. Bigotry would be coloring reality. I've said nothing that isn't so.

FROM YOUR PERSPECTIVE AND I HAVE NEITHER SLANDERED NOR DISTORTED ANY FACTS EITHER.

DON'T GO OFF TOPIC ON ME THERE, YOU SAID THE IGNORANT AND MISINFORMED WERE LED TO BELIEVE IN A FICTITIOUS MIAMI LONG GONE SINCE THE GREAT LATIN INVASION THAT TAINTED THE CITY, YOUR WORDS.

THE RECESSION HAS AFFECTED THE TOURISM DOLLARS BUT NOW YOUR TAKING THE CONVERSATION IN A DIFFERENT TURN AND LETS JUST LEAVE IT AT THAT.

HOHO!

There is a book that ALL should read, but so few read anymore. It's called 'The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America' and was authored by Reagan's top Education Advisor who essentially blew the whistle on what was going on. Most of you would be too frightened to believe any of it, but the information is all traceable.

Essentially, since 1930, our government, in cahoots with the Russians and Germans, were planning to dumb down the masses, Our government sought there help, and several of our presidents were behind it, Eisenhower and Kennedy too. Even in Kennedy's Independance Day speech he spoke of an Interdependaecy with Europe, which meant Russia at the time.

The grade school math books of the 1890's were well more advanced than those of the 1930's. The new math was designed to help us understand only the very basics and nothing more. I could go on and on an on...but Let the former Secretary of Education tell you herself.

I see I struck a nerve. You are taking my words in a different light than they are being delivered. Maybe you have some sort of a complex.

If you want to tell me Hialeah and Opa Locka are better places today than they were 50 years ago...ok...that is your opinion...but of course I know better.

Something we can agree on! Although you have to wonder if it would have been Nixon in 60 if we'd even have a World to live in because he wouldn't have blinked and the security features would have come off our Atomics.

No news about that, Sonny. Pluuueease...

Fin4,

I don't think it was Kennedy who was at fault for the Beachead failure.

Kennedy gave the CIA the green light as long as NOTHING appeared to be an American invasion of the island. This was one of his few stipulations.

How could Kennedy expect the Communist to NOT move on Berlin, if the he himself was invading Cuba?

The CIA assured Kennedy in SPADES that the invasion would not require the **OPEN** assistance of the US Military. The plan was for the US Military to step in **AFTER** the beachead had been established and the popular uprising(within the Cuban population)was underway in earnest.

The CIA underestimated Castro's forces and were CRIMINALLY liable for being unable to establish a beachead, let alone a popular uprising.

Having said all that, my own personal belief is that the CIA **TRIED** to walk Kennedy down the "Garden Path". What makes it worse, I believe CIA officials new ahead of time that the invasion would fail(by a carefully concoted design), and thus force Kennedy to intervene with US Forces.

I blame the CIA completely. Their plan was as ridiculous as some of their assissnation plans against Castro. Having a plan that counts on forcing the President of the US to invade a sovereign nation is idiocy at the highest degree.

Kennedy was trying to upstage Khruschev in the eyes of the United Nations and was leading by example and principal. The CIA was double dealing and worrying re-establishing their Heroin distribution center(Cuba/Mafia Partners). Which funded more than 50% of their black ops and is why they insisted on a war in Southeast Asia.

There are all kinds of details, but to sum up, Kennedy was responsible to the Court Of World Opinion. The CIA was NOT! They should have been alot more fortright/honest with the President. Their plan shouldn't have included an attempt to force his hand in something as big and important as invading another country.

They assured Kennedy of three things, which were contingent upon Kennedy's agreement to send in troops.

1. They could establish a Beachead.

2. The majority of the Cubam population would revolt against Castro.

3. The NEW Cuban Govt. in exile would land in Cuba and OFFICIALL request US Military support.

The CIA assured Kennedy that they **ALONE** could accomplish these three things. Kennedy agreed fully.

The problem is, the CIA was unable to accomplish the first of these, let alone all three. I believe the CIA was **CRIMINALLY** derelict and **SHOULD** have been prosecuted for their Idiocy! I personally don't blame this on Kennedy.

From the Highest Level again, "Atomic Weapons never were there at the time of the Missile Crisis". For your information only.

Whether Kennedy or Nixon, you have the military and presidential advisers along with a select few from congress pushing the big decisions. It is only the very rare cases the president acts alone, as the stupid Bush Jr. did going into Iraq on nothing but evidence he tried to fabricate but couldn't.

You see how much you're learning Today? I can be a good Teacher when I want to. GN

Sonny,

You haven't struck any nerve but you can't dismiss certain contributions either. Look I was born here and bleed the same red, white and blue but as someone descended from the original Cuban Migration I feel your painting everybody with the same broad stroke.

Look I'm not so BLIND as to not remember that Castro emptied his jails on our Streets in the 80's Mariel Harbor migration but put that one on Carter because my parents saw it and so did alot of others worried about some of the people who came over who were obviously a problem in the making not all m ind you either but a good 30% and you would think our Intelligence Community would have warned Carter's St. Dept. I was a child then but watch the 1st fifteen minutes of Scarface which are pretty accurate of that chaos which again was bad policy by President Jimmy Carter.

Well fin4life...my point is I speak of the evolution I see. It is not aimed at race or ethnic background. It has nothing to do with red white and blue for I am not especially fond of nationalism.

So you've been in the area a very long time, then you know things have changed drastically, more so than most other major cities. Now how we view those changes may be different. My perspective is shaped by having lived in FL as a teenager, then living in a few other major cities for awhile, and then coming back. South Florida has become somewhat of a surreal place in my eyes, and I'm not so sure I like what I see.

For your Eyes only. From the highest level of the Cuban government, "The Bay of Pigs invasion was carefully designed by the CIA... to fail".

Posted by: oscar canosa | February 04, 2013 at 08:31 PM
--------------------------

Oscar, I believe you're absolutely RIGHT!

It was DESIGHNED to fail, yet they assured a sitting President that it would succeed. Thus getting him to enter into an agreement to send in US Troops.

This ALONE is TREASON, by DEFINITION!

To design this failure with the INTENT of forcing the PRESIDENT to send our Kids, brothers, husbands and fathers into combat?

THAT constitutes TREASON and Dereliction of Duty!

Kennedy was going to reel them in and cut the Heads off of the involved depts. He did get Allen Dulles forced resignation.

This, his refusal to commit to Vietnam and his Brothers crusade against the Mafia signed his death warrant. The Vietnam Heroin(much like Afghanistan today)and the PERFECT Cuabn distribution point was just to important!

Follow The Money!

Dereliction would imply incompetence. They were savvy, and smart. They were against Kennedy the whole time. Then they realized they couldn't beat him without killing him.

Kennedy was hoodwinked by the highest levels of this Coutry here at that time and by Fidel Castro(a great political chess Player). No match. They wanted to get rid of him...and they did it. Also, only for your Eyes.

Posted by: oscar canosa | February 04, 2013 at 08:40 PM
------------------------------

Again, right on the money Oscar.

This is also how Castro was able to stay in power! He knew **MOST** of the REAL story behind the assissination. He let it be known, in no uncertain terms, that if ANYTHING happened to him, the details would be released.

You notice that before the assissination, Cuban Exiles were receiving all kinds of money and assistance. After Kennedy's murder they were being hunted down and arrested?

The CIA protected Castro for YEARS after Kennedy's murder. And yes, at the expense of the Anti-Castro Cubans. Sad but True!

These idiots couldn't run an Ice Cream stand and they were running American Foreighn policy in direct defiance of many......MANY sitting Presidents.

Kennedy had his Bay Of Pigs and was murdered. When Nixon bumped heads with them over Vietnam(The Heroin Resources), he had his Watergate. The break-in was another DESIGNED failure orchestrated by known CIA operatives. Some were Cuban Bay Of Pigs veterans as a matter of fact!

A Disgusting Blemish on American History. Thats the CIA for you!

It was no coincidence RFK was assassinated too.

Good night all. I guess some of you want to get back to FOOTBALL...but...be aware folks and don't rely on blind faith. There is no such thing as a government made up of angels.

The problem is, the CIA was unable to accomplish the first of these, let alone all three. I believe the CIA was **CRIMINALLY** derelict and **SHOULD** have been prosecuted for their Idiocy! I personally don't blame this on Kennedy.

odinseye | February 04, 2013 at 08:54 PM

In the City of Miami many Yrs. after the fact you had many who walked around town saying they were on that Beach, my Father (RIP) use to laugh given he was there and got together often with his buddy's in the trenches, they use to say, "had we been that many maybe we would have stood a chance".

They trained in Guatemala and the plan was to land on the beach set a perimeter while the US Destroyers that deployed them would give cover fire to any advancing Tank and Artillery Div. They were also supposed to receive air support along the highway to the Beach from Homestead Air Force base which was held back at the last minute as well with some taking off anyway to offer cover fire for retreating men recruited out of the Alabama Nat'l 3 of them would give their lives in the effort and are remembered along with all the Brigade 2506 members in a memorial.

You are right about the CIA having there agenda but at the end of the day it was Kennedy's 48 Hours of indecision that rendered it a mute point because by then the 1,500 strong landing Force had close to 300 KIA and the rest sent to POW Camps as traitors. Were they languished for 2 Yrs. plus (El Principe)

Oscar,

Your right about there being NO ATOMIC weapons upon the failed attempt at overthrowing Castro given I've heard from actual survivors of that failed invasion that Castro personally visited the Prison they were in and warned them at the onset of the 61 Missile crisis that if US troops invaded or threatened in anyway they would all be the 1st to die.

Something we can agree on! Although you have to wonder if it would have been Nixon in 60 if we'd even have a World to live in because he wouldn't have blinked and the security features would have come off our Atomics.

Posted by: fin4life | February 04, 2013 at 08:48 PM

Something you and I can agree on!

With Nixon in Charge and all the Old War Hawks as advisors. Nixon couldn't have stood up to Gen. Maxwell Taylor and his fellow War Mongers!

Today would be worse than those old Mad Max Movies!

South Florida has become somewhat of a surreal place in my eyes, and I'm not so sure I like what I see.

Sonny | February 04, 2013 at 09:07 PM

The Culture shock you speak of is felt by all given in the last 20 Yrs. we truly have become the Gateway to America for all of Central and South America as well. With their own particular customs ect...

Out of the 5.5 Mil. from Palm Beach to the Keys there are probably over 10 different ancestral communities.

Today would be worse than those old Mad Max Movies!

odinseye | February 04, 2013 at 09:32 PM

Probably not far from the truth with Lord Humongous and his Gang of Mutants led by the Mow-hawked one searching out the precious juice to fill the tanks.

Fin4,

The so-called indecision is where/when the treachery occured.

Kennedy was asleep, so the request was taken to his Secretary Of State(A Treasonous Republican). It was Kennedy's Secretary Of State that refused the Air Cover. He also refused to have the President woke up.

His Secretary Of State is also the key "Inside Guy" on the Assassination itself. Study this guy and it all starts to unravel!

Catch you guys later, good catching up with some of the old timers!

That little tid-bit gets past me, at the end of the day I can't fault Kennedy that whole situation was getting way out of control and the alternative would have been mutually assured destruction.

By the way your right about CIA SLIM BAG Gordon Liddy and his Watergate architects.

odin,

You still going to hang out for a while?

What does America expect? They killed the Indians in there sleep, and u have a county built by China men and slaves.
The statute of Liberty looks just like a Pagan Sun God.
Everyone in South Florida hooked on cocaine, Mollies and prescription drugs.
Only in Orlando, u can duck tape your child then walk Scott free.
And Miami has one if the high murder rates in the country.

Flacco is now one of the top QB's of all time. He has more road playoff wins then Brady or Montana!!

What must happen for the Dolphins to be Super Bowl good?

Well, maybe if they can draft Superman and eliminate kryptonite.....

Go Figure,I don't live there.SORRY

Lol, Wings

The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the French.

Miami is a wonderful and exciting city. Colorful, harmonious and rich in intellectual culture.

Rome is filled with statues that look just like the face of the Statue of Liberty. Just look at Constatine's Arc.

Canada is a nice place too. Ice fishimg and bowling are great.

Go to Revelation, chapter 18 and read verse 9 thru 11. It explains 911. America is pagan.

The year was 1970. South Florida was dealing with racism and socialization. We were divided.
But when fans went to Dolphin games, no one cared about race or financial status. Everyone got along.
Shortly after, the Miami Dolphins won 2 Super Bowls in a row.
Dolphins were a very positive team. How did we end up stuck with Ireland?

Jcb. nice fairy tale. The Dolphin games were filled with fight happy drunks in the stands, bunch a lunatics.

I'm glad Ross is giving Ireland a fair shot. He is doing well now. The team is in great shape for the draft. We'll finally be back in the playoffs for the next many years to come. You watch.

Media criticizing Jim Harbaugh for his tirade after the Game vs the referees. Actually, he did pretty good. Most People don't know the Competitive Mentality, which can be a blessing or a curse, depending. WE HATE TO LOSE and can very easily go completely out of control and character when We don't come out on top as we had expected. Now, origins for this mentality are many of course being part Genetic, part Enviromental.

"Dan Marino was the most competitive athlete I've ever benn associated with", Don Shula.

Great interwiew of Ireland conducted by that very able Phinsider guy. He still wants to acquire big, strong fast Guys. But with emphasis on their chacter and how well they fit this System here.Check it out.

Key dates...Feb 23 scouting combine, March 12 FA begins and the draft April 25. It's going to be a long long wait.

dad, it's actually the best time of year to be a Dolphins fan. You can realistically hope for a better Season next year. It might be pathetic, but between now and Week 1 are my most joyous times as a Dolphins fan. I'm the same as everyone else. No one can criticize me for my team, and if so, I can give it as good as I get.

When the Season starts, that's when the blues start mounting. First loss, second, third, we all know the feeling. But right about this time, post Super Bowl, pre FA and Draft, I can actually dream about greatness, about a team that's showing more than promise, more than progression, but true greatness. I can smell division titles, playoff wins, maybe even a conference championship game.

By the time it matters though, those hopes and dreams are usually dashed. Message to Mr. Ross, this is the problem you need to fix. If you ever want to stop buying out your stadium tix.
