The NFL season ends today with the crowning of the Super Bowl 47 champion.
Tomorrow we begin a new season. As I write here many fans and even some teams will study the Ravens and 49ers to see if they can find clues or reasons both those teams are Super and everyone else, well, isn't.
So I gave you my opinion. What's your's?
What must happen for the Dolphins to become a Super Bowl team? No, I don't believe the distance between them and the playoffs is that great. Three or four more wins and the Dolphins are a playoff team. But a Super Bowl team?
That gulf is wide, in my opinion.
Still, can the Dolphins bridge that gap in a couple of years, as the 49ers went from 6-10 in 2010 to the NFC championship game in 2011 and the Super Bowl today?
What must happen for that to happen?

Many People from many different parts of the Country here. Good.

Well, Buffalo, of course!
But I'm talking about this generic 'up north' term people use as if there's some kind of magical line where suddenly it's just icy, snowy, and thoroughly miserable all winter.
It just isn't like that, and here in the Northeast we've had virtually NO snow the past few years, at least south of New England.
I just find a lot of people in Florida have a woefully erroneous idea of what things are really like weather-wise for millions of us "up north." Just as I'm offended as a Florida native by some of the stupid things said about Miami or elsewhere down there.

Oh, and I live outside NYC (Long Island)--not in the city itself.
Posted by: jeff | February 05, 2013 at 06:15 PM
WHAT DOES THE TERM (( FLORIDA NATIVE )) ,MEANS ?
Posted by: ALoco | February 05, 2013 at 06:16 PM
What does the term 'native' mean?? It means you were BORN there.
Where did you learn English? In a cave?
Posted by: jeff | February 05, 2013 at 06:17 PM
JEFF,
I DON'T THINK THE TERM (( FL NATIVE )) MEANS YOU WERE BORN THERE,
I THINK THE MEANING SHOULD BE BROADER THEN JUST BORNED THERE ,THEN MOVED THE NEXT DAY TO NJ .......
Posted by: ALoco | February 05, 2013 at 06:19 PM
Born there and spent the first 25 years of my life there.
Does that satisfy your parameters?
(and "borned??" really? I would advise you not to comment on others educational status, dude)

I should probably ass here that while many of you are totaly wrong about the weather up north, I should add that people up here are NOT smarter than down there.
Seems like you have a pretty good example of that posting on this board.
(in truth, there's just as many bright people and morons either place)

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT YOU THINK OF MAYONNAISE. ONLY THT YOU PRAISE AND OBEY IT AS THE ELDERS HAVE DICTATED! YOU MUST KEEP THESE OTHER THOUGHTS TO YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES!
NOW YOU WILL HAVE TO GO TO PUBLIX AND SEEK FORGIVENESS FROM MAYONNAISE.

Aloco--no, I was taught by Seminole Indians in a remote thatch hut in the Everglades. We learned to count by adding the number of teeth in an alligator's mouth.
Which institute taught you words like 'borned?' 'Skools 'R' Us?'

Posted by: Nj | February 05, 2013 at 07:10 PM
We understand the need to strech the Field for RT.
Posted by: oscar canosa | February 05, 2013 at 07:15 PM
Tannehill will light it up next year watch and believe
Posted by: Nj | February 05, 2013 at 07:18 PM
Wallace can definately stretch the field. No one has ever questioned that.
Posted by: Dolfan Rick | February 05, 2013 at 07:24 PM
The biggest mistake the Dolphins will make is getting a FA wide receiver and then thinking the receiver problem is solved. This is what Bleacher Report is saying. Insane. The team needs at least TWO receivers who can jump up and get the ball, not one big receiver and a bunch of scatty possession guys.
Posted by: Another Longseason Ahead | February 05, 2013 at 07:32 PM
I see another jack off fan thinks the wannabe media experts with no real experience, like the Bleacher Report, know any better.
Posted by: Dazdon | February 05, 2013 at 07:41 PM
People kept saying Henne was gonna light it up, and that the fans needed to show more patience.
A t u r d only smells worse as time passes.

Hey t Kinkaid,
Thanks for the enlightening post. We all look to get more of your insight soon.
Posted by: Crapon | February 05, 2013 at 08:02 PM
Richmond,
At Michigan Henne always played down to the competition. His firts 3 years here I tried to give him the beifit of the doubt because thats what I was giving Parcells for drafting him.
Ot was truly a headscratcher for me when it was announced:
"...And with the.... pick of the 2nd rd. The Miami Dolphins select....Chad Henne qb... University of Michigan."
Hene proved he was the same exact qb in the pros as he was at Michigan. Always, playing down to the competition, no matter their depth.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gones 4Ever! | February 05, 2013 at 08:18 PM
Richmond,
At somepoint, even a smelly turd, eventually dries up and blows away in the wind. So went Chad Henne. LOL...

What must happen for the Dolphins to be Super Bowl good?
I wonder if Hell freezing over qualifies?
Posted by: Yesterday's Gones 4Ever! | February 05, 2013 at 08:21 PM
YGE....\
what some folks on the blog don't get is that many of us wish it had not been so...........but it was.
I hope Tanny improves, but a great deal of improvement is needed. Here's hoping......................
Posted by: Richmond "Craig" Kinkaid | February 05, 2013 at 09:11 PM
Yesterday, try to be more original,. You've been posting the same thing about Henne for 3 years now. It's old and boring.
Posted by: Zitface | February 05, 2013 at 09:17 PM
Richmond,
I havent a clue how good Tanny will be. However, there a huge difference between he and Henne.
Tanny seems smarter, brighter, more athletic, and seems to have a greater will to win. What that eventually translates into, I cant predict the ceiling.
Still, I believe if surrounded with enough weapons, Tanny can at least become "Joe Flacco". Like Flacco, maybe not elite, but good enough to eventually get to or win a sb.
I believe Tannehill would have to suffer a HUGE loss of self confidence to go "Henne", and even a greater loss of self confidence to go bust.
I doubt Tannehill evr becomes a top 5 qb, but I do believe he can become no less than a bottom 10.

Hey idiot,
Just try and remember how old and boring the "TRUTH" is before looking both ways before crossing a busy intersection.
You just may be doing the rest of the world a favor. LOL...
Posted by: Yesterday's Gones 4Ever! | February 05, 2013 at 09:24 PM
Here is what I like about Tannehill....in a pressure situation, with the game on the line, a time out is called, and he always comes to the sideline with a smile...as if to say...isn't this fun??? That is a good trait.
Posted by: Senso | February 05, 2013 at 09:28 PM
Yesterday, you are a belligerant, ignorant douche bag with no respect for anybody. Why anybody even talks to you is beyond me. Aloco and Craig M and Kris must have really really REALLY low self esteem. LOL

Please excuse of the English I use from the google translate but ask of this I have from one time in past with no answer. I am of Suuomi which call you in America FINLAND.
I and three are to come to Miami of November, 2013 and I require to know what are Metro subway option for to go Miami Dolphins stadium? We will have of travel from Fort laderdale airport and Miami Beach also Avventora and Boca Raton possible as well. Please you will advise on process.
Posted by: Earon Haavensk | February 05, 2013 at 09:56 PM
We need a new owner, GM, QB, Head Coach, and 30 - 40 new players before Miami will contend again for much of anything. Otherwise the past will be our future because nothing has changed and nothing will until everything changes. Get used to 7-9 seasons with this group in charge. They no nothing about winning. They just want to keep doing the same old thing, the same old way. You can always spot a winner or a loser right away. It doesn't take long to see how it's going to go. This owner, GM and coach are losers. Can't find talent to save this team. Not even close.

Billfish, sadly you are 100% correct. These guys are clowns compared to other football executives...

If they get a stretch the field WR/TE then Bess, Hartline, others, will always be open underneath.
Posted by: oscar canosa | February 05, 2013 at 11:29 PM
We can't forget that we need better protection for T-Hill. How he survived the Season, I'll never know.
Posted by: oscar canosa | February 05, 2013 at 11:32 PM
So you are forbidden to write long posts anymore, Yg? I know they pay you 10 cents/word so long posts are not good business for Armando. Besides, it's good to synhetize. Except for me. If I ever was to write a book, nobody would buy it as it would contain maximum 3 pages.
