Brady's doing it, but Tannehill and his WRs working also

The NFL was aflutter for about a day this week when the University of Southern California athletics department tweeted a photo of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady working out with new slot receiver Danny Amendola at the USC facilities.

Somewhere, Peyton Manning probably got to thinking about flying to see Wes Welker and matching Brady throw for throw.

Everywhere around the NFL fans were both impressed and depressed -- the first with the idea that Brady is already working on his craft four months before the start of the preseason and secondly, that their hometown QBs might not be keeping pace.

I know some Dolphins fans got worried.

I got emails from a couple.

I had some ask me on twitter if Ryan Tannehill is also working with Miami's receivers or whether he's vacationing and playing tennis as he did last week.

Well, relax.

Someone asked Tannehill about Brady putting in work and Tannehill responded:

"Been having throwing session (sic) w my wideouts for weeks now," Tannehill tweeted.

Within seconds of that tweet, one of the receivers apparently joining those sessions jumped into the fray.

"Ya! Check yo self!" Brian Hartline added in some unremarkable English.

(Just kidding, Brian).

And although I cannot tell you how many Miami receivers are involved in these sessions, or how frequent they are or whether new additions Mike Wallace, Dustin Keller and Brandon Gibson are involved, at least you can know that folks aren't just standing around watching Brady gain chemistry with his newest receiver.

By the way, Brady on Thursday did a session with Terrell Owens.

I would be surprised if the Patriots are going to sign Owens, 39 and two years out of regular-season action, to a contract. And I know the Dolphins aren't going to do it, either.

I say this because I expect those are the next questions someone is bound to ask.

OSCAR,

IF THE FINS DON'T GO TO THE PLAYOFFS ,OUR GARAGE GUY WILL BE GONE IN THE END OF HIS YEAR CONTRACT.

Doubt it, ALoco. Schedule this year is tougher than last + there are many new Players on the Team. Ross knows that.

This is Irelands final year.

NOTICE HOR OUR GARAGE MANAGER HAS SOME FANS OF CERTAIN PERSONILTY ;;;;;;

BOBBYD13,THE FILTHY

KRIS,THE FILTHY....

If we fail to be a Winner this Season, blame might be attributed more to Philbin than to Ireland. All of Us here know that there was dissent on the Team after Philbin cut CJ last Season. Well, now those dissenters are also gone and Philbin has his choice of Players he can work with. Will he be able to Coach us into a Playoff spot? Hmm...

NOICE HOW OUR GARAGE MANAGER HAS SOME DUMB FANS FROM CANADA,WHERE'S NO PRO FOOTBALL/////////

Listen Oscar, we all know Ireland is your butt buddy, but Ireland will be gone before Philbin.
Notice how Philbin cut Ireland's players.

John Jerry, D Thomas, and M Egnew are more Ireland players that will be cut before the season.

OSCAR,,

WE WELCOME OUR FOREIGON POSTERS FROM CACAND .

People from the Press, many times are in the know of things that the General Public do not know. It is their responsibility to report accurately what they know, without the most minimal distortion of the fact or personal implications. Any deviation from that fact, might make them or the Institutions they work for liable should something serious occur because of their sayings. Same thing applies to reporters and/ or their Newspapers that are conducting a Blog.

Only Jerry Might Get Cut.

Dashi wants To See How Many Of You Guys Are Going To Apologize To Ireland For Egnew. The Kid Will Surprise This Year. Just Watch.

And D.Thomas Was A Spo Player. Not Ireland. Remember, D.Thomas was The "Perfect RB for The Wildcat". Ireland was The One That Picked R.Bush Because he wanted To Add Team Speed.

It Is Actually Harder For A Coach or A GM To Give Up On A Rookie than a Veteran. Coaches Love Young Players Because They Still Have Upside. And GM Love Them Because They Are Cheaper and for A Longer Period Of Time.

You Do Realize? Reggie Will Make In 1 Season, what D.Thomas And L.Miller Will Make Combined In 4 Years.

That Egnew Will Cost Less For 4 Years, Than It Is To Pay Keller 1.

You Might Not Realize this. But Ireland Sure Does. That Is One Of The Main Reason The Fins Have 1 Of The Youngest Rosters In The League!!

One Of The Reason Ireland Probably Didn't Want To Pay Jake Big Money. Ireland Can Get A Rookie LT and A Rookie OG, Plus, Pounce and J.Martin. And Pay Less For The 4 Than Paying Jake Long.

Just Food For Thought.

Reason Vacarro Makes Sense At #12. Ireland Will Not Pay R.Jones and C.Clemons. R.Jones? Yes!! Clemons? Not So Much.

Puffy,

Stop Using LOL So Much. You are starting to look suspect.

To be con't.

Will Ireland bring us another Pat White or D Thomas? Probably.

lol nice

This is Irelands first free year out of the shadow of Fatcells.. Im talking about Fatcells dead money that was hanging around keeping us from signing players last year.. Ireland did a good job with the CAP and has its set up nicely for the next few years as well.. You shall see..

Ireland without Parcells puppet strings = FLOP!

Sorry Steve youre wrong on this one.. Fatcells raped this team and is now just getting over it.. Good coach in his day but that day was along time ago.. This team would have been so much better without him setting back, getting fatter, then taking his money and running.. The dead money we were paying players to play for other teams or coach high school football teams was on Fatcells.. Ireland got out of this and created the CAP he did.. One of the youngest rosters in the NFL set up for the future.. Not old fat and slow..

Parcells had us in the playoffs after 1-15. There's a reason he's a HOFer. Its been straight downhill since he left. This isnt even arguable.

Have been reading through the posts from the last page forward and want to drop a thought regarding

"Interest in Players Pre-Draft"

I gather that were hoping to have one of the Tackles fall to us 12 (always possible ask Aaron Rodgers, Warren Sapp ect..)

If not then a trade down maybe what looms instead of the trade up some talking heads (NFL Net's A.M.) suggest for Miami. This draft while not heavy on supposed "ELITE" talent is loaded at OL,WR & especially with DB's and why not trade down and add another pick in RD-2 for a team desperate at CB (Atl., Houston to name 2)

In this scenario you can take more risks with a player like the Honey Badger whom may not have lit up the combine but boy did he make a ton of plays for LSU week in week out just a couple of Yrs. back showing me when it counted he was a Football player and maybe an NFL BALLHAWK at F.S. not Nickle back as some have suggested.

I'm sure all these scenarios are in play and the way the top 10 picks play out will determine our course. If we stay at 12 and take X.Rhodes I wouldn't be upset either given everybody knows I've been talking about him since last Dec. when our focus turned to the draft for the 3rd straight Yr. A trend I believe Philbin may break this Yr. if T-Hill shows some progress.

Steve it is arguable bc they came up with a gimmick offense that worked for one year.. pair that with the easiest schedule in the NFL that year, a Bradyless Pats team and what do you get? A team that fell into the lap of luck.. How did that team do in the playoffs at the house against the Ravens? The next year why did they go from #1 to the bottom again? Fatcells was there that year too.. so whats your excuse for him that year? You cant say that he wasnt running the show bc he was.. The Pat White pick was on Fatcells.. He said it himself.. and he is a HOF'r for his coaching back in the day.. not his running of a football organization.. bc he ran that right into the ground.. try again

and the fact that you cant see beyond just whats in your face means you have no credit.. I guess since you go by numbers and whats given to you, you prob think that the Flacco deal was a good one lol

THE HONEY BADGER IS WORTH THE RISK.

I'm starting to look at some of these mock drafts and I think Tavon Austin is the key!

Not that I think we should get him but I see that Minnesota now has two first round picks and would probably like to get him as a younger Harvin replacement.

We could trade back in the 20's and get Trufant, Eiffert or Manelik Watson and pick up another 2nd rounder.

Hell, we might even be able to give up our 1st, a 2nd and 3rd for both of their 1st rd picks and take 2 out of the 3 guys I mentioned and still have a 2nd and 3rd rd pick.

mattybfromnc | April 07, 2013 at 08:15 PM

I would have posted something but your post said it all, perfectly! It's also worth noting that Parcells oversaw the 2011 draft with the trade down that got Odrick remember that was the Off-Season he said we would take guys who could play in pads following the White debacle.

It was about a month into that Season that he packed up his Office and finally left the rudderless ship behind. After which he heaped insult on top of injury by saying in an ESPN interview that he had recommended Rex for the Jets job, truly classless! Ireland whom I haven't been exactly fond of has been responsible for the last 2 drafts and Off-Seasons and seems to be formulating something that shows a clear plan for a change.

The Woodshed Gang | April 07, 2013 at 08:26 PM

My point exactly in my earlier post it seems every publication or prognosticator has us either trading up or taking Rhodes at 12 and to be honest in your scenario it's very possible we can still take Rhodes. I feel it a safe bet that M.Watson will be there for one of our 2nd Rd picks and like him a bunch having seen him play plenty along with Rhodes on that Seminole team.

The Raiders Are Going Thru Something Similar This Year. The New GM Is Cutting All The Dead Weight and The Raiders have Some Sick Number in Dead Cap This Year. Supposedly $50+m. But Starting Next Year The Raiders Will Have The Freedom To Build The Franchise how They want.

Yea, It Might Cost Them Some Games This Season. But When You Can Fix The Future By Getting The Overpriced Players Out. And Taking The 1 Year Penalty. You Do That. Else You Will Look Like The Jets. Always Rebuilding and Never Actually Rebuilding.

First Step Of Rebuilding. Is Demolishing To The Foundation.

Imagine the football IQ of idiots that think Ireland is better then Parcells. LMAO! Some super dumb bloggers on here.

If and when Ireland is in the HOF (YEAH RIGHT) then we can compare him to the great Bill Parcells. In the meantime just look at the record. GEEZ!!!

Saying Ireland is better then Parcells is the same as saying Cam Cameron is better then Don Shula. Its ridiculously stupid.

Fin4life,

If J. Martin strengthens up this offseason and we can trade our 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd for Minnesota's two 1st rd picks, I think we would take:

1a) Desmond Trufant (CB)
1b) Jonathan Cyprien (S)
2. Manelik Watson or Justin Pugh (OT)
3. DaRick Rogers (WR)

Now that would be great talent and fill some needs as well.

You will do fine at Doral. I told you before.

Some of you have been suckered.

Steve in Ottawa comes by all the time making those comments looking to get someone going. He is not serious. He just comes to make a monkey out of some of you.

Ignore him and expect him to use a different name.

If and when Ireland is in the HOF (YEAH RIGHT) then we can compare him to the great Bill Parcells. In the meantime just look at the record. GEEZ!!!

Phinmanski | April 07, 2013 at 08:49 PM

I can't decide if this is the stupidest or just most ignorant post I've ever read, PERIOD!!!

Parcells is in the H.O.F. for his accomplishments as a H.C. not as a F.O. Exec. as a matter of fact there are no G.M.'s/ Exec. V.P.'s in the H.O.F.

If not then George Young (the man who actually built those Giants teams) would have gone in with Parcells who by the way would not have been eligible for the H.O.F. in your FLAWED logic given this will be his 3rd Yr. out of the NFL and for eligibility you need to have retired 5 Yrs ago.

Parcells had NEVER enjoyed success as the defacto architect of any team given he only held complete control here in Miami. He was FIRED by B.Kraft in N.E. because of his hatred of a pick at WR whom he referred to as she.

In his 2nd N.Y. go around he was allowed to pick his guys but that was a group loaded with X-Pats & Giants along with K.Byars and B.Cox before bolting for Dallas were Jerry runs the show his way! He destroyed Miami with some guaranteed cash on some hurt guys and BIG misses bolting with his contract clause paying it out on full at about the 1/4 point of 2010. He's a classless A-Hole who got lucky with the guys Young put around him with the Giants.
