Dolphins in fine cap shape (still)

The Dolphins are doing just fine with their cap space, according to the NFL Players Association numbers below released at 8 a.m. today.

The club has over $7.4 million in cap space and if you recall that after June 1 the club picks up another $10 million in space based ont he deferred cuts of Karlos Dansby and Kevin Burnett, there will be plenty of room to sign the draft picks, add a practice squad, do any acorn shopping general manager Jeff Ireland wants to do, and still have a bit of an emergency fund for the season.

By the way, Charles Woodson is still out there. He's eager to sign with a team. Yes, he's 37 years old, but he can still play. The Dolphins, as I have reported, had moderate interest in him a couple of months ago.

He could be a solid experienced leader of a young defensive backfield for one year.

Before that happens, however, the Dolphins could easily sign their later-round draft picks like other teams are doing. What are they waiting for? It's not rocket science.

go finsssssssssssss

I'm not convinced our O will be any better then last season and it could be worse without Bush and Long. Wallace wont have near the numbers he had with Big Ben and the OL and running game are iffy.

long was horrible last year. bush rarely did anything. not hard to replace a 950 yard back

Who cares about the crap Dolphins anymore?

The oline wouldn't have been any better than 2012's had we resigned Jake Long.

Bush wasn't a true rb, he was a highlights reel that looked to make a highlight every single carry. This often resulted in losses due to his "dancing".

Uh..... Wallace wont have nearly the same numbers? His most likely Big Ben who wont have the same numbers, due to DC's no longer having to double any of their wr's.

Wallace having 6tds with us, still makes the overall passing game better. DC's are not going to stop doubling Wallace just because he's now in Miami.

Get a grip, man

Plus, Wallace will almost always be open, when considering when cb's will be giving him a "cushion".

When defenses "man up" with him on the line, Tannehill will almost always know that the defense is in "double" against him(safety over top).

Then he audible's a pass play that takes advantage of the vacated middle of the field exposed by that safety.

If the DC's tries to be really stupid by placing his cb on an islands, then its bombs away, lights out. Nothing left but to scrape the burnt from the "toast".

That PBP writer Violin got a big promotion. Dolphins to the Pats. He has to be as thrilled as Welker was. Its the big time talking to Brady and Belli after experiencing the Miami circus.

When is training Camp(with pads on) open?

Yesterday you are the one that needs to get a grip and wake up. Phinmanski does nothing but drop absurd comments looking to get some fool going, like you.

Nah, Volin won't forget Us that easy here. We'll make sure of that.

Everywhere you look from our great salary cap to our OL to our CBs to our RBs to our TEs this team is in GREAT SHAPE!!!
The only weakness is at QB now.

Nope, I still see Frady with a 3 second drop back and throwing for a ten yard gain, hurry up, and 2 second drop back for another 8 yard gain. Jordan gonna get to Frady in 2 seconds?

They say Dion has a poor first step, also.

Shhh - don't mention acorns! Scrat from Ice Age will pop out of nowhere and steal them all!

to
BE
OR
NOT
TO
BE................

ARMANDO STILL WRITING IN A VERY POOR MANNER ,WHEN HE TALKS THE ACORN CRAP.

Our cap situation is awesome when you consider all of the signings this offseason. Even after signing the rooks we should still have around $13 million left because only the top 51 contracts count against the cap.
I think you can add another $8.7 million to it after Marshall and DC-choker get jettisoned. Plus, unless Patterson is a stud hiss $4.6 will be available too. That’s a potential $13 million more added to the already $13 million we have. $26 million cap space after all those signings? Good Lord!

Next year, Starks and Incognito will be gone which adds another almost $14 million. That’s at least $40 million in cap room. If fat Paul plays well, I’d keep him even if it’s by using the franchise tag. If not, Odrick is definitely ready and maybe Randall or one of the rooks will be ready too, and that’s another $7 million. Of course Keller’s $4.25 million and Clabo’s $3.5 million are off the books next year, but I count them as a wash because even if we resign them again it won’t be for that much more. If we release them, the replacements will be even less. So let’s not count them for now.

Reshad Jones will get “paid” next year for rizzle, so plan on $6 million a year for him. Wallace and some of the other signee’s cap hits will skyrocket next year, so add another $12 million for them. So….. $40 million(without releasing Fat Paul) minus $18 million or so, and we still have $22 million next year for use. AWESOME JOB BY JI and DA!!!

RANDO ...SAID (( OUR CAP CRAP IS AWSOME ))............

But Fidel Castro is still basically the owner of TMH here. He might close this Blog.

Oscar,

Does Fidel Castro eat black beans and rice with roast pork or chicken?

I think that Armando has just banned ALoco. He just disappeared without word.

Or its "shift change" at The Herald.......

What in the world are you talking about here Armando?

"He could be a solid experienced leader of a young defensive backfield for one year."

I'm all for signing Charles Woodson if that's what the Fins decide to do and he is indeed a solid experienced leader but the Fins secondary is NOT young.

Chris Clemons is entering his 5th year in the NFL, Reshad Jones his 4th year. They are vets.

Richard Marshall is a vet. Brent Grimes is a vet. Dimitri Patterson is a vet. The only youngsters are the two rooks we drafted and one of them, Will Davis, will likely not be playing much this year.

Please get your facts straight.

And how bout mentioning the downside of signing Woodson? He'll be better than Clemons I'm sure of that but will prevent the Coaches from determing if Clemons is the guy to pair with Jones long-term or not. This is the year for Clemons to show that. Or be gone.

A lot has been invested in Clemons in terms of time and coaching and the Fins need to see if that investment is going to pay off.

No, YG, Fidel Castro is Spaniard in his being and eats very little Cuban food anymore.

Look it that, we have been taken over by Spain.

yg...

TO
BE
OR
NOT

I HATE BROWN RICE... I HATE ANY FOOD PEOPLE SAY ,(( IT'S GOOD FOR YOU ))......

I JUST

EAT ..........

Oh, yes, Fidel Castro has major business interests in the BBC, has or has had a major Bank in the UK, is the owner of Venezuela now. Besides TMH and ENH in this Country, who knows?

OSCAR,STOP THAT CRAP ABOUT CASTRO.............CUBA'S TODAY IS OPEN TO THE WORLD AND IS CHANGING VERY FAST,WHILE YOU STILL TALKING THAT NON SENSE ....

The guy is a Major Evil Genius. He has been let to quietly gather Power for the last 50 yrs and here is the result. What I said in my last Post is all true, ALoco. And more, much, much more, especially in this Country. I know you are not prepared for this Truth but, although the prospects are not looking good for Us, this War is not over, at least on this Side.

The "Illuminati", Us, Everybody in the know is trying to fight this Cancer with poor results up to now. Well, let's go to the Heat now.
