He said, she said turns against Florida speaker

Mike Dee and Stephen Ross say Florida Speaker of the House Will Weatherford promised them their bill, which in part would have allowed an election on Sun Life Stadium upgrades to go forward, would be heard and voted on during the last legislative session.

It wasn't. Weatherford closed the session without picking up the bill.

But Weatherford denies he ever promised to let the bill be heard as the Dolphins CEO and the Dolphins owner are contending.

“At no point during the process were any promises made to hear the Dolphins Stadium bill on the House floor. It's no coincidence that we haven't heard about this so-called commitment until after the bill died," Weatherford said in a statement to The Miami Herald.

So stalemate, right? He said. She said. Right?

Not quite.

Dee said other people heard Weatherford make the statements the Dolphins contend he said. And I found one of those people on Thursday.

"I was in the room with Mike Dee and Steve Ross and did hear what they heard," South Florida Super Bowl bid committee chairman Rodney Barreto said. "And yes, I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed that the people of Dade County were not given the opportunity to vote and that's a huge disappointment.

"This is a democratic process and [the legislators] were approving nothing more than allowing the people to vote. And I think that's lost in all this finger pointing, that we had an election going on and 40,000 people voted already and they should have had the opportunity to finish that vote."

Sources close to the discussions between the Dolphins and Weatherford say other people also heard Weatherford tell the Dolphins the bill would be heard. One of those persons, according to a source, is Turnberry Associates Principal Jeffrey Soffer.

Soffer, whose company owns portions of the Fountainbleau Hotel and Aventura Mall, was present when Weatherford and the Dolphins spoke on at least one occasion.

Messages left for Soffer at Turnberry Associates have not been returned.

Republican Ross is against raising taxes for the needy but wants to raise taxes for the greedy? WTF?

A nice article on how the Chiefs screwed the pooch by not trading Albert, and Ireland did a great job of not blinking first.

Wow!

This Board was messed up.

Troll Tard didn't even realize it, but unless you had "Someone's" Pass Word, you couldn't even post here since around 8:30.

Check the last page. It was one troll talking to self for the past 3 hours.

You're going to have to pay closer attention, lest you continually BUST Yo-Self-LOL!

Post Post Post!!!!

Fix the board Mando.

Troll Tard, is Mario at Mando's?

Tell him to tell Mando(He said, she said)to tell the Tech Guy to:

Get Down On It!!!!

Paul..................?

Oscar, can you spare Paul long enough to get someone, "On The Case".

Between ALoco, Mario, Paul and Oscar, you'd think someone could get us some results.

I GOT IT!

This sounds like a Job for: Lil Smalls!!!!

Dah Dah DAA-DAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

Winning is obviously mot a requiremrnt for a Steve Ross GM.

Has anyone ever watched a lot of Tape on Dallas Thomas?

I hadn't until just last night. I read the clippings and the Scouting reports(as misleading as they are). I saw the Youtube Highlight Vids that just show them at their best(In Thomas' case, I don't know where they got enough clips to even make a 30 second clip).

For the life of me I cannot figure out what they saw in Thomas. I will watch some more, because quite frankly, I can't believe anyone can be as putridly, stinky, terrible as he was/is!

It's completely unbelieveable. Just watch some **GAME CLIPS** featuring Thomas. I saw him ROUTINELY loose the battle at the point of attack. And I'm not talking about NT's or Great DT's blowing him up(they were straight up knocking him off his feet).

I saw (smaller)Linebackers, Safeties and YES, even CB's driving him backwards at the point of attack. I'm not kidding, I've seen Hookers stay on their feet for longer stretches than Thomas.

3 straight hours of watching and RE-watching game films and I cannot recall him finishing ONE SINGLE SOLITARY block.

Terrible at pass blocking and when run blocking, he couldn't even manage to drive DB's off the ball.

I hate to say it and I wish I were kidding. But watch for yourselves. Thomas was atotal waste of a draft pick and I don't care if we're talking out at Tackle or inside at Guard.

This Kid need more development time than he'll EVER get in the NFL. I predict he'll be COMPLETELY out of Football before his rookie contract expires.

I wish I were joking, but this Kid makes Marc Colombo look like a First Ballot Hall Of Famer!

If the Dolphins leave Miami (and don't move to Palm Beach), I think they should stay in the South instead of moving to the West Coast. Move them to Birmingham, AL. They've always wanted an NFL team and have to root for the Titans, the Falcons, the Jags, or the Saints because they're in between them all. Alabama is a BIG college football state (Alabama -vs- Auburn) and have had pro teams in the past (Birmingham Fire), but never really supported them because they were'n't the NFL.

Hey, just an idea...

Hey, just an idea...

That's not all.

Everybody and their Brothers know we need help on the O-line.

Seeing how we moved up for Jordan and had to take Taylor to help in the secondary, we really needed to hit on the first O-Lineman we picked.

This is the scary part. I would imagine Philbin and Sherman were consulted on our draft picks and strategies. I suspect Ireland and Co. probably even consulted Jim Turner(O-Line Coach)when sizing up possible Offensive Line Candidates.

So how in the WORLD did they decide to draft Thomas?

After watching him somewhat in Depth Last night, I know I personally wouldn't have wasted a pick on him. I even doubt that I would have brought him in as a UDFA or even a "Walk-On" tryout.

I might have brought him in to fill up space on the scout team, but that would certainly be the WHOLE of it.

I've been on board with Ireland and Philbin for practically the whole run. But this move has me sick at my stomache and has REALLY shaken my confidence in the "Brain Trust".

If all this isn't bad enough, imagine all the wasted reps he'll be getting and taking away from others during camp and the Pre-Season.

I've NEVER before advocated cutting a 3rd round draft pick before training camp starts. But not only would I not have a problem with Thomas being cut, I would PERSONALLY escort him off the Property.

Odin,

I wondered about Thomas too. I still haven't figured out why he was rated as high as he was by the draft pundits. But, I figured they all knew more than I did about him, so I was giving him the benefit of a doubt.

Ross's ownership is just one disaster after another. A nightmare for Dolphin fans. Everything constantly turns out bad.

Birmingham Dolphins has a nice ring. They could bring back Saban to coach.

Typepad for this blog has gone crazy!

2 of my posts never posted and one posted twice! Ugh!

Nevermind, then...

Somebody fix it!

They do it all the time they will not allow a vote on pro-choice license plates even though it would pass. They will now allow a vote on confederate license plates even thoughthey know that would probally pass. 11 other states have them. Its all up to the speaker.

Tracy,

I'd obviously prefer The Dolphins stay put.

But I never thought of Alabama for whatever reasons. ALabama does have a Gulf Coast too, so the Mascot Name wouldn't be totally ridiculous.

It would beat having to root for the Kentucky Dolphins.

Instead of using the City name though, I could see myself rooting for the Alabama Dolphins!

It sounds crazy, but you would've NEVER convinced me that the Browns were EVER leaving Cleveland-LOL!

Yeah! The Alabama Dolphins! With some tough looking Black and Red(Crimson)uni's with just a touch of Teal!

We could use the Crimson Tide as our Triple A team too.

Can't help but wonder how the Residents of S. Florida would feel about that(I betcha Mando's Troll would change his tune real quick-LOL)?

When the government lies to the people its politics but when the people lie to the government its called a felony!

Tracy,

Have you watched any video of Dallas Thomas?

I was real high on the pick after listening to all the pundits and reading all his scouting reports.

I need somebody else to watch the tape and tell me I'm seeing things(or something). I hope I was just to tired and was being too judegemental and harsh.

But there's just no other way to say it. Dallas Thomas looks as close to being a sure fire bust as I've ever seen.

I hope I'm wrong. I'm even going to watch some more on him tonight just to try and prove myself wrong(if that makes any sense).

Bummin Big Time!!!!

If Ross has billions and if he plans to give his money away in the "after life", why he doesnt invest or spend the money needed for the stadium renovations in this life. If the SB is then given to the Sunlife, he will recover part of it. Eventually he will recover all of it.

Armando's doing a good job reporting on this, but I could have swore that the AP style is to mention an elected official's jurisdiction and party on first mention. How come it's never mentioned in the blog post that this guy is a Republican? I'm sure Armando wouldn't hesitate to mention the party if this guy was a Democrat.

You Can Call It His Redshirt Season.

If L.Miller Got The Ball 227 Times Last Year Like Reggie. L.Miller Would Have Had 1112 YDS. Not 986 YDS Like R.Bush. And L.Miller Wouldn't Have Fumbled. Not 4 Times. L.Miller Doesn't Fumble.

L.Miller Will Gain 1200yds This Season.

This is Dallas Thomas against Alabama.

It's almost unfair, but Thomas will be facing tougher teams and players than what Bama has.

Thomas against Florida. 230 pound LB, Morrison just owned Thomas(as well as others). Safeties and CB's too.

This ones from 2011. He's playing Left Tackle against Bama. He does look better(only slightly)at Tackle. But even in 2012, he often misses his first block and then his second block at the second level. Routinely takes himself out of plays. Looks like he drifts a lot and plays at about 75% of his potential speed and tenacity.

It's **BAD** Folks!

Back to 2012 against S.Carolina.

Couldn't sustain a block to save his life, whether it was 2011 or 2012. His assignment often made the play. I would hate to see Pro Football Focus do a "Study Up" on Thomas.

Watch how many times he ends up just standing there watching his guy catch up and make the play. Has NO concept of what "Playing to the whistle" means.

I could list more, but they're easy to find.

I will say, if it wasn't for Bray's ability to get the ball out quickly and Patterson and Hunter covered for a lot of bad Line play from Tackle to Tackle.

Odin, i hope you are wrong about Thomas. In the meantime, I think I will stick to Ireland and Philbin's assessment of his game tape over you and your "hottie's" inebriated dissertation!

That post at 12:50 was YG just as sure as it was Armando whom curiously omits any mention of Weatherford being a Republican.

If you couldn't see that, Glasses won't help-SMH and LOL!

Most good offensive line coaches usually start out sweeping streets with several hottie's before making it to the big time!

Can Someone Please Direct Me To A Website That has A L.Miller Fumble Stat. The Guy Didn't Even Fumble In College.

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profiles/mike-gillislee?id=2539663

WEAKNESSES

Not as decisive as you’d like after the handoff, pausing instead of pressing the line. Will waste steps in moving laterally. Inconsistent taking what the defense gives him, will bounce outside where NFL defenders will bring him down for a loss. Will cut a bit early against blitzers in pass pro, needs to stay up and anchor when they expect the low block. Resorts to throwing a shoulder too often in the backfield or leading plays downfield. Holds the ball low and in the wrong hand in the open field, inviting fumbles.

NFL COMPARISON Andre Brown

BOTTOM LINE

Seeing as how Gillislee didn't get an extraordinary amount of touches until his senior season, there isn't a lot of mileage on his tires, despite a good amount of overall experience. He has a good build for the position, and is a solid downhill type of runner. While Gillislee doesn't have remarkable agility or balance, he works at hitting the holes he's given, and runs with some speed and power. He will likely be a mid-round pick that works in a committee.

http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/lamar-miller?id=2533034

OVERVIEW

Miller is an early-entry true junior from Miami who really surprised in 2011, his first year as a starter in Miami's offense. He had played sparingly in more of a scat back role prior to this year, but showed that he is a true starting tailback who possesses many traits of a first rounder. While there is debate about the risk behind investing an early round selection on a back whose shelf life is short, Miller has put together enough solid tape to garner a late first-round value and should continue to excite and ascend as he displays his athletic ability throughout the pre-draft process.

ANALYSIS

STRENGTHS

Miller has track speed and actually ran a few anchor legs for the Miami track team prior to his junior year. Once in the open field, he is a threat to take it the distance and is not only a straight-line, long-speed runner; Miller has even more impressive quickness off the snap and in tight areas to avoid and stay productive. He is very smooth and impressive off the snap as he gets to top speed quickly and is able to pick his spots at full speed in a very effective way. He hardly ever gets stuck in the backfield and is reliable to get positive yardage on each carry. He is a very efficient runner who has a natural feel for maneuvering his way through the box.

WEAKNESSES

Miller has only one full season of tape and was rather ineffective as a runner prior to this year. He relies on speed and leg drive to gain yards. He won't be able to juke linebackers at the next level or bail himself out of bad spots with his feet. He runs like a power back at times, which could be a liability in the NFL at his size.

L.Miller Graded Out At 87.0

Mike Gillise A 70.3

E.Lacy Was Graded A 82.0

If L.Miller Would've Stayed An Extra Year. He Would've Been A Top 10 Pick This Year.

Seriously........Troll Boy, forget for a second that this is the Big Stage that your Life revolves around 24/7(LOL).

You go ahead and dismiss my opinions OUTRIGHT. It's OK, I like to form my OWN opinions myself.

But in so doing, forget Ireland's too. I mean, in a completely sober reality, he did draft Egnew, Sean Smith and brought in Marc Colombo as a Free Agent STARTER!

Form your own opinion on Dallas Thomas. The O-Lineman aren't like Safeties, CB's and/or WR's. With O-Lineman **YOU** can get some very good views right off of television tape.

I'll bet you that I hope I'm wrong more than you do. Unlike some people **WILLIE**, this Blog isn't a matter of Life and Death to me-LMAO!

I hope I'm COMPLETELY wrong and I hope I have to eat MUCHO CROW on this one. But I'm afraid I'm not.

Check it out for yourself and give me **YOUR OPINION**. Watch the links I posted, waych some more links that I haven't. God Almighty, I hope you can point me to some links that will prove me wrong.

After reading the scouting reports and watching the Highlight Reels(The So-Called Highlight Reels, because those suck too).

But seriously, find the clips, form your own opinion and then direct me too them. Prove me wrong-PLEASE!

Otherwise, just STFU and GTHOH. Because when you try and sound all witty...and smart...and stuff...........well.........you're NOT-LOL!

ValHalla Mutha Fvcka!!!!

this is a negotiating tactic.

they're not going anywhere!

Mike Pouncey "Guarantees" Lamar Miller tops 1300 yards rushing next year

Dolphins Center Mike Pouncey "guarantees" Lamar Miller will top 1300 yards next year, which shouldn’t be too difficult for Miller if he is given around 16-20 carries per game.
====================================

1300 sounds about right.

Hopefully he adds another 500 in receiving yards too.

I'll sweep the streets with YOU Bu-oy!

You ain't want Nunna Dis!!!!

So im the one trying to sound witty, and smart and stuff? We are supposed to believe you (who has "seen the tape") over guys that get paid for a living to "see the tape" and decide what players fit their system best, right? Seriously, U need to GTFOH with that bullshyttt! This is exactly what's wrong with the Fins fanbase! Most of u bandwagon fans (not u Odin, your wagon is different) talking bout how u will miss the Fins when we move, knowing damnn well you'll just jump on the next team that happens to be winning at the time, claiming them as your own. Get gone already, we dont need u!

Nope Willie!

I'll be the LAST to claim I know as much as, or more than anyone.

I can only give you feedback from what I'm working with. It's all just my own personal opinion. I was all pumped up about Thomas. I didn't know hardly jack about him, but all the reading and testing and everything sounded great.

Then I started to do what I do. Which is watch tape, clips and use whatever other info I can gather(from here in my Man Cave).

I'm just saying, I was looking for a steal of the draft. A guy I was hoping against hope, that would come in, WOW everybody and win the starting Left Tackle job hands down.

I just can't believe what I've found scouring the tapes. Seriously, I hope I'm wrong. I don't have the ego problems where I have to win the popularity contests and always be right.

All I can do is tell you what **I THINK I SAW-LOL**. Just look at some of the Youtube Clips and tell me what you think you see.

PS: I still think we'll be OK with or without Thomas. I was just hoping he would be the next big thing. I don't have a vandetta against Ireland or Thomas. I just don't see a player that justifies a 3rd round pick.

Please, take a look and tell me what you think........?

Also..................

You know I was just kidding about the witty, smart, blah, blah, blah stuff.

So quit pretending to be offended ;)

And Odin do u really want to say my life revolves around this 24/7? Cause every time I'm on here (which addmitedly, isn't much) your typing your little fingers off when u should be sticking them in ur hottie. Unless, of course, there is no hottie! Judging by the amount of posts i read from you and YG on the daily............. not looking good homey, not good at all!

By the way, tuff guy. You couldnt wipe the streets with my furry ball sack even if u wanted to, now get out there and clean that dog shyytt off them streets!

ValHalla-back BYYAAAAAAATCHHHHHH

Let it playout with Thomas. Dont know where they plan to use him or how he fits in the scheme, until we actually see him there. I still think Louis is gonna start at RG anyways and unless Thomas blows the socks off the coaches in the preseason, Cogs will play LG. If Thomas can take Cog's job, that means the tapes u saw were misleading. If not, we should still give him time to develop. John Jerry was a sorry a55 pick in the 3rd round IMO (over Gronk and Jimmy Graham) and still prolly was when compared to who we coulda had, but he did develop a little last year, no? Bottom line, we wont know how good or bad this class will be till 4-5 years down the road so no sense in calling them busts before he even puts on a jersey. I'll take a look and get back at ya one of these days, peace.

I am getting mad as hel- here. What is wrong with Ross' Stadium as it is now that cannot hold a SB? The OB did, many times, and it was much older in comparison. What?

We might not be Politicians but far removed from being Fools.

Different times, Oscar. The Super Bowl in that era was NOWHERE near the same kind of corporate driven event it is now.

No stadium not fully up to modern standards without all the bells and whistles will host the game, regardless of locale. It's why San Diego no longer gets the game, despite being a prime location with dependably great weather.

I don't like how it's evolved, but it is reality. And that reality will increasingly see Miami OUT of the Super Bowl rotation without some very serious upgrades to the facility.

Kool Willie!

PS: Don't get your "Furry Little Ballz" in Bunch!

PSS: I think you're right about Louis. I have no worries from Cogs, to Pouncey, to Louis!

I think we'll rule up the middle.

Matter of fact, I like Clabo too. So if Martin improves from pulling all them trucks around all summer, we'll be good.

Thomas will join a solid group of Depth Guys and have quite a bit of time to improve!

You gotta LOVE the Direction we're heading in!

ValHalla!!!!
