Quick look at the Dolphins’ 53, as of June 17

Hey friends-

It’s Adam Beasley. As Armando mentioned last week, he’s on vacation, and so a few of us will post updates to his blog, as events warrant. It’s a quiet week at Dolphins camp; the only players left in town are the rookies, who have one final week of workouts before they disperse for the summer.

But with training camp literally a month away, it’s never too early to start thinking about which 53 players will be on the roster when the season kicks off in Cleveland Sept. 8. Here’s my first, very rough, take. The good news for the Dolphins: This isn’t easy. There will be several good football players who don’t make the team this year, and – unless there are a string of catastrophic injuries – you won’t see the team pick through the waiver wire castoffs to the degree it did in 2012.

As a disclaimer, this is based on what we’ve seen thus far (which, in shorts and jerseys, hasn’t been much).

Lou--

When the moon is in the seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars, then peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars.

We are tired, they are tired, Everybody is tired. Still, a Game has to be played. Who will win it? The one that wills It more.

Has Ireland been fired yet?

NBA is fixed!

Well with Groncowski injury prone, Hernandez killing people and the Pats not having any decent WR's this finally looks like this the year the Dolphins can win the ACF East.

Marinos teams always came up short in the playoffs, like the 1985 AFC Championship Game where they lost to New England 30-14 at home. Marino had two picks and a 54.9 rating in that game. The 1992 AFC Championship Game where Marino had one touchdown, two picks, and a 56.5 QB rating in a 29-10 loss at Buffalo. Ten of his 18-playoff games saw Marino throw two or more picks. The Dolphins were 1-9 in those games. There is no debating that Marino was not the same quarterback on the big stage in the postseason that he was in the regular season. Not a money QB

Could not have said it better. We've been searching for a QB since Greise.

Clue, as long as those bastards have Brady nothing is certain.

This is the 1st year of a massive rebuild. 6-10 would be good. Someone needs to get a CLUE.

Mark, Brandy is what 35?? Expect a rapid decline starting this upcoming season.

Actually last year was the first year of a massive rebuild an we went 7-9, I was expecting 3-13. So the coaching staff did a good job preparing the team. A winning record is my prediction this year and contending for a WC.

I mean 10-11 new starters is unheard of....its like an expansion team,

I count 8 new starters.

Clabo, Wallace, Miller, Keller, Vernon/Jordan, Grimes, Wheeler, Ellerbe.

Brady will decline but 35 is still young for a Qb. I know that's tough for a young guy like you to understand but yeah, 35 is still good, ahha. Now Peyton will go down this year. he's a little older and major health scares in his not too distant past. Baltimore made him look pretty old. He will win that division because it stinks but lose the first playoff game ... again.

And yeah, how is this a major re-build? These new starters aren't journeymen. They were all deemed upgrades except for maybe the OT transition.

Mark, Marino was his last legs at 35 chummmmmmmmm p.

marino = lol.

piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiix
zooooooooooooooooooooooooom
see that, he just trew another 1.lol
he sent yimmy in2 retirement 4 ever.
lol

BREAKING NEWS: Aaron Hernandez to be arrested by MA. Police for homicide.
Bellicheat - kiss your TE tandem goodbye!
Maybe Hernandez has Kraft's superbowl ring too!

Looking for wine pairing suggestions for a lesbian-themed dinner party.

Laughable that Matthews isn't on here. He's been a star in camp, he's making the 53 man roster.

Not a bad looking 53 - I would however make a couple changes
1 DT Vaughn Martin > Kheeston Randle
2 LB Josh Kaddu > Jason Trusnik
3 WR Rishard Matthews > McNutt or Binns (who will fight out for the last WR spot)

Missing R. Matthews #18.

WE GAVE UP 1 PICK FOR JORDON #42

WE SWAPPED 1ST ROUNDERS, ODIN

one of the four safety's is Jimmy Wilson ,not Jimmy Williams.

September is still a long ways away. I'd prefer to make it 59 and add Brian Tyms, Jonas Gray, Kyle Miller, Kheeston Randall, Keelan Johnson & Alonzo Highsmith. Special teams is a third of the game. It's important.

My take away is that Miami has improved their roster far more significantly than most give them credit for. Some power rankings have them in the 20's.
I see no reason Jordan cant be used at OLB and DE and believe Odrick is more valuable being used consistently inside, esp on passing downs as he can press the QB from inside. It would be have been useful to have done a side by side comparison with last years roster at the same point in time.
