Live blog of Dolphins vs. Texans here

HOUSTON -- The Dolphins have never beaten the Texans, but I don't care about that tonight.

You know what I care about most?

Lamar Miller.

I want him to win the starting running back job. No, that doesn't mean I am rooting for him over other players at running back. I mean I want him to perform at such a level as to leave no question about which player should be the Dolphins starting running back by the time the night is through.

That hasn't happened yet because, well, I don't think Miller's been given much of a chance. He's only gotten four carries in the preseason.

How is anyone supposed to win a job with four scant opportunities in two games?

As the starters are expected to go at least one quarter, maybe more, perhaps Miller can get 10 carries this game so he can get a feel for the competition and get a good chance to show his stuff. Let's hope.

Rishard Matthews, Lance Louis and Jamar Taylor -- none of whom have played this preseason -- are dressed and expected to play tonight.

And, of course, there is a live blog for your participation on tap:

touchdown to wallace!!! definitely wanna see a lot of that in the regular season

Just sucks it seem to take an entire qtr for this offense to find it's keys...................

TD Tannehill to Wallace

Laser!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Tanny to Wallace

and once again the wallace haters are wrong

OK a TD for the fins. He is starting to become that favorite receiver. This is against a very good defense. It is a shame our OL is so bad because we have some talented skill players.

Didn't know Wallace could run those kind of routes.

Nice answer by the Fins, good to see Wallace and Hill starting to blend.

And No, I am not angry. I'm watching the game.

Just keep my name out your mouth you little-ho.

WOW!!!!!!!!! Tannehill has a rope for an arm. And Mike Wallace is a BEAST!!!!!

Well I be dame scored in the Redzone
Oh right Miami. OL still sucks though
But great drive I give them credit

another touch back 4 the rookie

One trick pony ? Nice drive to answer.

Finally. The offense shows up, and Wallace is utilized.

Exocet throw by Tanne

Mike Wallace

3 catches 58yds 1 td

= 19.3 ypc

Too many men on the field, holding, false start, can't block or tackle well, they appear to be poorly coached.

Wallace looked every bit the weapon we wanted and needed

Stop posting Dashi and stick to the game.

Stick to the TRUTH and leave your whining in your closet.

Saying the refs are bought for a preseason game? You are lost.

The offense did what they had to do. Sit the first team offense down. Time for the scrubs.

T-Hill needs to at least play some of the 2nd qtr.

17-0 and Sparrow might be the dumbest fans I've ever seen. You 2 just complain and complain. Then when they do something good, you find a way to complain lol. I've never seen dumber people.

Im ready for regular season football....

Yellow

Why don't you offer your honest assessment of Miller tonight? You were so eager to stroke him pregame, let's see how objective (or Yellow) you are.

Tannehill is an exact copy of Chad Henne.

D.Thomas did an excellent job running the Football.

GTFOH.

If we had an OLINE this team would be pretty good....Tanne doesnt get his 3 seconds ever...

We need Dion Jordan and John Jerry to get healthy. Olivier Vernon may be big and fast but he cannot play. I was keeping my eye on him when he was in and he was dominated.

Well, a very few of us dolfans really hate losing. With some of you, it seems it really doesn't matter.....

T-hill needled that pass brilliantly right in there. That was right on the money. Nothing easy about that pass.

Spitler is pretty GOOD

Tannehill really doesn't show killer instinct. Rarely doe he draw first blood as a qb. Maybe first to bleed, mayb.

good tight coverage by secondary....not bad....

Hard to evaluate. 1st stringers, 2nd stringers? Both sides.

In fairness to Tanny, he had the O-line collapse the first drive and the penalties the second drive.

I see what you mean though YG, it would be nice to get the first score. At least they got the redzone TD and connected with Wallace a few times.

No JJ watt maybe he is hurt

Horrible pass!

Big Time Problem for Tanne is Accuracy

OL just bad horrible. Unfortunately

Doesn't show killer instinct..? I can't be the only one to see how. He just put it to a playoff defense.

to be honest guys Tannehill is not worth 1st rd. pick

boy our running game is craaaaap.....Sims holding penalty screwed us bigtime....

I am very surprised at the lack of discipline...its very loose penalty wise

D. Thomas 2 9

L. Miller 4 6

Facts are facts.

t hill gotta make those 3rd dnw conv!!!

Miller averaging 1.5 yards a carry
Thommas averaging 4.5 yards a carry

Facts are facts.

Who knows? Sloppy both sides.

Yeah Hartline open poor pass. That's called inconsistency still needs work on the long ball and medium passes. But with that horrible OL can't fault T-Hill.

tanne has been fine thus far.....some really good stuff but the line is terrible really

lack of consistency of t hill is proving to be true so far

The starting RB won't be decided until after the next game. I sense the coaches are pulling for Miller, but Thomas is performing better.

Watch Brad and the other great qb's. Most times the ball is out of their hand in 1.5 to 2 sec. Many of them use "POCKET AWARENESS" to buy time by sliding their feet to avoid pass rushers.

Granted, the pass protection hasn't been great, but neither has Tannehill's pocket awaremness.

It tells you how bad the fins were. They picked up a bunch of players in FA and the draft. They were able to tweak a good defense and bolstered the skilled offensive positions. Now our OL is terrible. I guess you can't fix that many holes in one year.

Case one of the great crop of QBs from last year.

Its not about losing 17-0, its about you being so sad and pathetic. I am 100% positive that you are a big time loser, and have nobody that cares about you.I know this because whenever I come to read the blog you're Here. Every second of every day your here because nobody in real life likes you. There isn't a single SUCCESSFUL person on the planet who would think of a name like LOVE FAKING 17-0 IN YUR ASS! You are the definition of sad and pathetic lol.

Miller, 4 carries for 6 yards. That is not exactly giving the coaches any warm fuzzies.

so much for will davis..lol...that was funny

Will has a lot to learn.

It does not matter who wins this game. First team defense was pretty good and our offense was able to drive for a TD against a really good Defense. Not bad.

The OL continues to be a major concern.
