Live blog of Dolphins vs. Texans here

HOUSTON -- The Dolphins have never beaten the Texans, but I don't care about that tonight.

You know what I care about most?

Lamar Miller.

I want him to win the starting running back job. No, that doesn't mean I am rooting for him over other players at running back. I mean I want him to perform at such a level as to leave no question about which player should be the Dolphins starting running back by the time the night is through.

That hasn't happened yet because, well, I don't think Miller's been given much of a chance. He's only gotten four carries in the preseason.

How is anyone supposed to win a job with four scant opportunities in two games?

As the starters are expected to go at least one quarter, maybe more, perhaps Miller can get 10 carries this game so he can get a feel for the competition and get a good chance to show his stuff. Let's hope.

Rishard Matthews, Lance Louis and Jamar Taylor -- none of whom have played this preseason -- are dressed and expected to play tonight.

And, of course, there is a live blog for your participation on tap:

Even Tannehill outrushed Miller. It is not a good sign if your QB is running for more yards than your starting RB.

Keller battled ankle and knee injuries during the 2012 season, not sure which knee but still looked pretty bad!!

Keller was our best player this preseason (in games at least).

He was going to be a gem.

New ownership will move the team. Pray for an O-line and a pink slip for Ireland. How do you miss adding to the O-line in the draft?

Everyone who thinks that the Cleveland game is going to be easy better think again. So far, Brandon Weeden has been the MVP of the pre-season. He is way ahead of Tannehill. It looks like we took the wrong QB.

Bad game for Shamud sorry Samuda, framo a professional ( P.T.) person it looks like a severe sprain or ACL on Keller. If sprain 2-to6wks or ACL gone for the yr. Right side of the line is big disappointment including Clavo.

d long is incorrect, as most on this blog are. keller dealt with a hamstring last year. Not a knee & ankle.

Fact check before making an as* outta yourself!

I'll wait until we hear the news about Keller. He didn't look like he was in that much pain on the cart. Overall T-hill did much better against the Texans this time than last time. Not sure if we saw any deflections and threw zero ints.

Cuban Menace, Mando is more of a "foie gras' kind of guy, not salsa. It's all an act. LOL

good lord, her is the link

Here is the proof on Keller -

You dont have PAIN when you tear ligaments in your knee.

Ive torn two of them. They dont hurt, they just go limp and wont move when you try to move them.

keller is done.

OMG GrieseBall.. Earl Morrall is the QB that won all those games! You are dead to me Griese! You are the reason Paul Warfield got hurt! Earl Morral had more to do with the undefeated season that Bob Griese ever did, yet Griese gets the credit... FIXED!

We should have kept Fasano. He was always solid and would have been a good second option. He was not even that expensive to keep.

Matt Moore is awful.....I suppose moore lovers out there will blame the receiver for that one!!!

What crap! YOU HAVE TO SET YOUR FUKKKING FEET if you hope to be somewhat accurate with your throw!!!

Pink-Slip 4 Ireland!!! OMG I will actually buy tickets for the fins if they will just get rid of Ireland and his shitty scout network! Dallas is doing well now that IrelandFail is gone. I wonder why???

Moore is worth 4 mil a year? no way Jose

This is why they should have stayed at 12 and taken Eifert. We'd have had an extra second round pick too.

Now we are screwed.

Vegas knows best.

sanchez is still playing at qb for jets in 2nd preseason game through three qtrs...Yukes!!!

Now we are without a premier TE and our first round pick is too injured to even play.

These things are all calculated into the numbers.

Numbers don't lie.

good lord -
Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that Keller is taking a physical at the Dolphins facility on Wednesday afternoon. Assuming everything checks out with Keller, who battled ankle and knee injuries during the 2012 season, the team will talk contract terms with Keller’s agent.

talk to nbc sports so they don't make an as* out of themselves!!

there is a good chance keller's career is in jeopardy. knees dont go in a diff direction from the bottom part of the leg unless the things holding them are ripped apart. this is a long term surgery rehab . hes not a rookie. it could be career ending. how do i know this/ i am an rn

calling dr bobby

Jeff Ireland has such bad luck.

Just saw a still photo of the hit on Dustin Keller. Awful. Hard to believe he didn't blow out the knee.

Vegas was wrong last year. Now get off the blog!

Really there is little to be alarmed about right now. Even the OL play can be fixed as soon as Jerry or Louis are healthy. Need I remind this was a playoff team last year??

Not in a good mood with Keller's injury.

Tannehill short pass accuracy off. He threw behind Keller. Hes thrown behind often. Keeps it up he'll sacrifice more of our playmakers.

BOBBYD12_JERKWAD says coach said egnew has improved this year??? yep warm fuzzies there

Well, those thinking Egnew would be cut, he just made the team.

See: Dustin Keller, still photo........

Lots of blown coverages for us also.

Ireland ignored WR last year- actually on HBO saying all he had was 2-3's on the roster. This year ignored the O-line- drafting a speed bump. Another great Defense and subpar offense.

Yellow is a weak color. It is the color of the urine. It is the color of a coward. It is the hue of a bad oyster. Pus is yellow before it turns green, which is already mostly yellow.

good lord have you called nbc sports yet???

finfan...100 % agree if it loos as bad as it does..Keller will really have to consider walking away while he still can!!!!

If this is the end of Kellar's career. I wonder what Kellar is going to say to Tannehill? Thanks for ending my career, with that crappy pass.

Something to watch this year is how many receivers get knocked out as a result of inaccurate passes from Tannehill. Hartline, Gibson, and Wallace have got to be grimacing.

Same simplistic thinking we see every preseason. Always leading to dolfans mock drafting in December...

Just saying.......................

That hit reminds me of the Reggie Bush hit, Jets game.
He cam back though.

Bunch of non sense above about receivers getting knocked out. Tannehill was good enough with a porous line with 10 of 15 passing for 141 yards and a good pass to Wallace for a TD.

Tannehill's light has not clicked on yet. He needs to settle down.

god this offense is so simplistic...no playfakes, no bootlegs, no draws...its just predictable...at least the Texans are showing more looks in regards to gaining yards...seriously!!!

Stupid can't be fixed- it needs to be eliminated

No one is bringing up Clay's name at all. That bodes ill for Clay.

hey orlando dolphin,

youre not a fan. you re a negative piece of garbage. go on another site if you wanna complain. real smart saying we should have kept fasano after keller goes down. you should be a general manager. fasano was one of the reasons we ve sucked the last 5 years. hes a slow tight end in a league where speed kills, especially a fast seam threat tight end. there was another moron on this blog tonight saying the tannehill was an inaccurate QB after going 10/15 with 141 and a touchdown. a few of those balls he threw were great balls too. i know he threw one ball behind gibson. ooooohhh nnnooooo. you mean he didnt complete every pass he threw? grow up you fools! get off this blog!

where is Dr BOBBYD12_JERKWAD and the pompus fact checker good lord??

Our team bites on EVERY SINGLE play fake.

bootleg, playfake...and TD...miami gutless playcalling by sherman

How cool would it be to see Kellar on the practice field next week? It would be a miracle.

We are playing a Premier Team(yes their backups good also). We are just not here yet. I can see now where LV is at.

sorry orlando dolphin. that other moron was actually you. get a clue you imbecile.

Orlando Dolphan -
I would love to see that, but that hit was NASTY!

now watch Miami come out in all shotgun formation this next series....I think Sherman sometimes doesn't understand the need of confusing defenses to bite sometimes...

We got gashed.

Orlando your a moron

with the back ups in they stay pretty vanilla, heck in pre season they are like that with the starters

can we please bench moore...OMFG!!!!

D. Long, I know that looked gruesome but we are in trouble at the TE position. Big drop off from Kellar.
