======================================================

Jack, did you miss my post from page 1.........?

Repost:

I'll discuss Tannehill.

I thought it was stupid to use the 8th overall pick on such an inexperienced Quarterback.

I wanted him to start day 1. This was so Philbin could see how terrible he was. Thus it would only set us back a year or two as opposed to 4 or 5.

I was positive he would fold and Matt Moore would take over until Devlin(or SOMEBODY/ANYBODY but Tannehill)was ready.

So far, Tannehill has proven me wrong EVERY STEP of the way. He's actually just about won me over. This year, he has shown that he can over come adversity(the O-Line and pass blocking in general)and that he can pick up a team and carry it on his back.

Yeah, Tannehill has done all of these things, including winning me over as a Fan! He's forced me too eat crow and it's NEVER tasted better.

PS: He's making Sherman's prediction look pretty good. You have to admit, Sherman sounded almost senile when he made it.

Pass The Hot Sauce!!!!

====================================================

Yep Jack, I remember ranting and raving.

That's OK though, the Crow is going down just FINE!

Armando,

Where are Jamar Taylor and Will Davis?

Does this mean they are a full GO?

Or out?

I'm confused........?

Through three weeks of play Tannehill is the highest rated passer inside the Red Zone!

Ha Ha! That's Huge! Inside the Red Zone Tannehill has a passer rating of 144.4!

BAM! Be-Atches! Think about Dat Naw-Lense!!!!

Has Ireland been fired yet?

Another Rookie nobody talking about is Jelani Jenkins.

He played last week because of injuries and played real well IMO. They put him on the TE's and he did a good job on Gonzales and the other guy from what I could tell.

I have a feeling his coverages skills didn't escape the attention of the Coaches.

Posted by: odinseye | September 26, 2013 at 06:12 PM

As soon as I saw a #53 on the field I was looking for the back of the jersey given Jenkins wore #46 in the Pre-Season. Seemed to hold his own in tough circumstance to see the field, he did however split time with Spitler who played the majority of the snaps at SOLB. I was real nervous with him out there given he and Wheeler seem to light to handle the Strongside Backer Pos. I was waiting for Ryan to go at him but the youngster did us proud.

OK, Duh, I got it!

Will Davis and Jamar Taylor are 100%......er......CLOSE ENOUGH!

They Ready To Roll!!!!

If Coyle is smart, Drew Brees will know who Will Davis is by Midnight!!!!

3-0 Baby!!!!

Fin4,

I know about the 53, that use to be Spitler's number I do Believe.

But yeah, I had to pull up the Roster to see who it was. I kept missing the name on the screen-LOL!

I thought he did real good in coverages and I saw him stick his head in there on some run plays.

I know this is a big game and all, but he played the TE's as good as anyone else has. So I say play the ROOKIE! Especially, or at least in passing situations.

I'm just waiting for another Rookie to stand out, these Ireland haters will go into convulsions-LOL!

"The Perfect Storm" 3-0 Baby!!!!

Fin4,

If you meant he split time with anybody against Atlanta, it was Trusnik No. 93.

I saw Trusnik out there before I knew what happened to Misi. I was like: WHAT? WTF is going on?

Anyway, I hope Misi is OK and Jenkin's gets some shots!

I'm just waiting for another Rookie to stand out, these Ireland haters will go into convulsions-LOL!

"The Perfect Storm" 3-0 Baby!!!!

Posted by: odinseye | September 26, 2013 at 07:50 PM

Excuse me I meant J.Jenkins split time last week with Jason "I got naked pics of Ireland" Trusnik at SOLB. We cut A.Spitler.

I know its okay odin!!!
That injury report really doesn't look bad at all...of course would love to see Patterson back in action BUT Carroll did START the last two games for us and we did WIN those games...against Playoff calibur - probowl potential QBs...Carroll isn't turning any heads but he isn't really killing us either...not yet anyway (fingers crossed)...the big question is how many of these guys will be able to complete the game...I know its Brees but I'd personally throw these rookie CBs to the wolf!!! They may be just green enough to not know Brees should be toasting them...

Fast foward to 2012:
RG3 first and then Kappe mid-season start using thier legs and making plays and everyone goes crazy about the read-option. Now a year later it doesn't work and both have come back to earth with a thud.

RG3 + Kappe = 1 year wonders
Wilson = plays for best team in football
Tanne & Luck = play the position like a man and will be around for a long time.

Posted by: ExposingTheFraud | September 26, 2013 at 06:41 PM

Every new wrinkle gets countered but your not being entirely fair here ETF! RG111 is a shell of his former self, what made his read option go last Yr. was and is the fact that he can throw with the best of them and is very accurate. Alot of what was called the read option last Yr. was him running for his life pulling plays out of thin air on his athletic ability alone! I watched their game last Yr. in NY Vs. the Giants and he had JPP reaching for air on a 4th & long were I'm still scratching my head at how he gets away from like 3 defenders and hits Santana Moss and one of a number of plays last Yr. with a bunch on Thanksgiving in Dallas.

The deal with Kaep. is due to the fact that without Crabtree to stretch the field and now Vernon Davis out as well so much like our one dimensional Wild Cat you simply stack the box and pin a bulls-eye on #7, that said he does seem to be the one that needs the threat of the run in his game to succeed. The one whose really out of his element is Chip Kelly! Did you catch that Goaline formation last Thursday with the formation totally spread and a shotgun snap across the field to the T.E.? Looked amateur hour for sure believe he isn't long for the League with those stupid formations killing possessions.

Lets see how Harbaugh adapts tonight.

Wow!

Mando is first!

LMAO!

Child Please!

and

Saints by 17 points!

Smoke that!

Tannehill AintShieet!

Watch a rebroadcast of the game

Shoulda been intercepted 3 times as TanneHOPE threw to the wrong colored jerseys

Amazing the idiots like drunk Walkah thinkin Tannehil is Elway or Marino

Yeah that's what Tanny is. LMAO!

More fumbles than TDs
Go Tannehill!

Tavon Austin hasn't made a highlight reel play of note this Yr. in either the Pre-Season or up to this point for all those harping on drafting him. I know Aldon Smith is out but keeping an eye on J.Long out of curiosity.

Excuse me I meant J.Jenkins split time last week with Jason "I got naked pics of Ireland" Trusnik at SOLB. We cut A.Spitler.

====================================================

Yep! Trusnik and Will Yeatman made extra so each would have copies.

not a Mayock guy.....sorry

Mayock making excuses for SF defense....."all the injuries".....hey dude, alot/most teams have to deal with alot of injuries.....THATS the norm.....last year and maybe even the year before, when SF's D had few injuries, is the exception--saw an article saying they rotate very little on defense, so their starters play most downs--which works great when they're healthy, but its a pretty big issue when they're not--and in the NFL, they're "not" somewhat often--the way it is--that Harbaugh still a genius, everybody?--or a few injuries and erratic play from his QB making him look a little more human, no?

Home phin yo momma must be on that show "Breaking Bad".

Your joke Saints almost lost to the pitiful Bucs and you think we lose by 17? HAHA

And please name these woulda, shoulda, couldof throws?

I bet you even painted your nipples gold.

Odinseye, Fin4,Armando the Dolphins are No1 in the NFL in one stat do you know what it is? A hint its one of the 3 I follow and post on the blog.

...I know its Brees but I'd personally throw these rookie CBs to the wolf!!! They may be just green enough to not know Brees should be toasting them...

Posted by: Jack! 10.6 | September 26, 2013 at 07:58 PM
======================================================

Exactly! I don't know that you would call it throwing them too the wolves. But I definitely work them in there.

Just like when I Coached Pop Warner and Freshman, they didn't know how green they were and they didn't know how good opposing QB's were SUPPOSED too be.

Besides, Davis didn't play a lot of football comparitively speaking, but he's a ball magnet and got tons of passes defensed and INT's at every level.

He got quite a bit more work in camp and pre season than Taylor, so I'm working him in first. I'd even start him over Jimmy Wilson Monday.

And if Carroll starts getting burnt, watchout! It's Rookie Time!

More fumbles than TDs
Go Tannehill!

YAWN(and a )ROTFLMAO!

Talk about smoking something oe being Drunk-LOL!

Tannehill is rank **No. 1** in the Red Zone with a 144.4 rating.

Oh yeah......and 3-0 Baby!

Smoke THIS? ROTFLMAO-AGAIN!

King Shula,

My best guess would be Points off of turnovers?

I really don't know, but it seems like we capitalized off of tunovers so far.

King Shula my guess is red zone offense.

Fin4life,

Wouldn't it be great to have THill work with Jim McMahon & Bob Griese one on one in developing a great snap hard count, voice inflection, etc.

Ireland needs to make that call to them during the off season, hire them as consultants. THill is a very smart kid, he learns from his mistakes and picks up quick, he"d learn a lot from these two masters.

That Go-Go snap count is very different and has me scratching my head, but I agree with the other blog heads here. Seems its one go for run and two goes for pass, I really can't believe Sherman's got the count like that.

Something we are missing here? Doesn't make sense, defensive coordinators will easily figure that count out.

King Shula,

I was trying to look it up. In so doing, I found out that Danell Ellerbe is tied for second in tackles(30)with Mayo. Ellerbe is one tackle out of first(31).

He's quietly getting it done!

I still laugh every time someone questions whether or not Ellerbe is an upgrade over Carlos "Like I say, Like I say, Like I say" Dansby-LOL!

Tannehill has this nasty habit of turning the ball over and getting sacked.

Hey Steve he also has the habit of winning games and doing well in the fourth quarter.

I think Philbin may pull all the stops this game, have Sherman run some reverses, send Wallace deep on patterns that the NO Coordinators don't have any tape on. Providing that the O line can give enough protection for long plays to develop.

Have sets that have not been seen, maybe have more screens to not Miller or Daniels, but Clay or Clutts out of the back field.

Look for Philbin and Sherman to try to confuse NO's defense with many crossing patterns, miss direction, line Wallace up differently, give looks they didn't think we where capable of running.

This maybe the game Sherman really opens up the offense play book, but I'm sure Coyle may also have the same thoughts on the defensive side. You may see a very aggressive package with the corners blitzing or LB's blitzing Brees, many rotations of DB's, defensive setups that Brees has not seen from us on tape.

Many think this game isn't important, but it most certainly is. It's the Grand Stage on MNF, everybody is watching. This is a HUGE statement game, make no mistake about it and the coaches are really going to want to win it. Just need the players to continue to execute like they have the past three games.

jake long down and out

I agree MADFIN, this game is important.

If for no other reason than I think Atlanta puts a loss on New England. A win for us puts us in First Place in the East and forces everyone to.......FORCES EVERYONE.........to sit up and "Take Notes".

Besides all that, we're up and coming, with new starters and rookies all over the place. We managed to handle the Browns, Colts and Falcons. Who says that the Saints are AUTOMATICALLY better than us?

Where is THAT written? We beat everybody they put in front of us. We can put together our best game yet and HANDLE the Saints just like we did everybody else.

This game is Super Important. Everybody thinks our schedule gets easy somewhere. We have the Saints, Ravens, Bills, Pats and Bengals. Even the Bills have been playing good. We need every single game we can get, this one ESPECIALLY!

The Rams lose this game and Jeff Fisher is 1-3...LMAO...nuff said...

Who cares Steve? You can't have your cake and eat to.

Tannehill = excellent in 4th qtr

HE HAS EMERGED AS THE LEADER OF THE TEAM

...I have to heavily disagree that it would be a good idea to start on of the rookie corners this week. I get it that folks are fired up on the 2 prospects. But this is the first week Taylor has had full practice, and Davis hasn't seen the field yet. So on Monday night, in a fairly big game against a pretty good quarterback..These guys are going to both play??? At the same time?? No freekin way. Not unless there are injuries that force our hand should both of these guys be on the field(unless it is on Special Teams)..

Both are going to get their chances. But there is a huge curve between preseason, practice, and playing in NO on Monday night. What is the rush? IMO you think we are bad off with Carrol or Wilson in on the field at the same time...Imagine the carve job Brees would do with 2 inexperienced rookies..

I would say temper your expectations of how these two will be integrated into the defensive fold.. We will probably see Taylor on some third down situations. It may even be for Wilson on certain downs and distances. But Wilson is a better run support guy, so second down to me is out of the question. Same for first down. We will see. I may be wrong, and if I am , and one of these 2 is a factor Monday night. I will happily admit my error in judgement..I just can't see it. I don't think Carroll or Wilson have been that bad.

...If the coaches see fit to give Taylor, or Davis playing time over one of the other guys..That is fine. This would mean they believe that one of or the combination of both. Give us the best opportunity to win. I'm cool with that..It is just that today my opinion is that both do not give us that best opportunity. That we would be much better off with Carroll, and Wilson. For now.

I'm sure we will be able to revisit this next week. And like I said. I trust that the coaches will make the right choices concerning the personel. My opinion means squat except my part in the discussion here. So we will see.

Darryl,

I don't think that BOTH will play Monday Night at the same time.

But, I would bet that Davis sees the field before Taylor.

Davis had a MONSTER Camp and wasn't too bad Pre Season either. Taylor on the other hand, hasn't done much of either.

I expect Carroll to go the whole way as the No. 2, barring a complete and unlikely meltdown. I expect Jimmy Wilson to start at the nickle.

As often as Brees goes upstairs though, I wouldn't be surprised to see Davis in certain packages and even possibly rotating with Wilson.

I do know Taylor and Davis have been studying, especially because of the injuries. That's all they've been able to do. This means they should know the playbook pretty well at this point. And as good as Carroll and Wilson have been so far, you have to admit, it wouldn't take much for one of these Rookies to quickly outplay them.

I don't expect either to start and I don't expect to see them on the field together. But I would be terribly disappointed if we didn't see a lot of one or both of them a certain points of the game.

We will see - 3-0 Baby!!!!

Odin, Wontit be 4 and 0?????

...Odin.. I want to see these guys play as well. I beg you to go get the coaches tape feature on NFL. com. And the only reason I say this is that I think after watching each game from a the perspective of seeing the whole field, and being able to slow down the action, zoom in. I think Wilson, and Carroll are getting judged a bit harsh by the fans base. IMO they haven't been great, they haven't been game changers. But they have been solid, and like the defense as a whole. Have been pretty good in the second halves of games.

Now I know we would like to have cornerbacks with the skill level of the Seahawks. But to me. It seems like every teams secondary gets beat up. What we have not done is give up big plays(secondary)...They haven't been penalized for PI's, and in the redzone we have been nails. Sure folks will say Wilson got burned for that Td last week. And he did lose leverage. But that was a mismatch they exploited, and would have won reguardless if Wilson had Tioilo blanketed. He is a foot taller.

My point is that although the pair hasn't been spectacular. They haven't made huge mistakes. I'm afraid that in this particular game. We get a little weaker with either of the rookies out there(in place of one of the vets)..Both rooks will have their time. IMO it just shouldn't be this week.

That NON Call on Carlos Rogers was HORRENDOUS! Especially at that juncture of the game. The Rams needed something to happen for them at that was it.

Nice officiating there Champ. Reminds of how they make all the non calls on the offensive tackles that are allowed to put Wake in Head Locks and everything else.

I think it was Trueblood, he's 320 pounds, was allowed to Head Lock Wake and lean on him so hard he tweaked an MCL. But yeah, that's OK when you play for Miami apparently, because they let everyone Hold Wake all game.

Wake should play to the cameras, the fans, the refs and the Coaches while the Filmings going on. Something has to be done because it's so ridiculous it's now getting to the point that Offensive Tackles are being allowed to injure him.

WTF!!!!

PS: Armando, when are you going to ask Coach Philbin about this Bullshyt......? Just curious......

Odin, Apparently it's the only way to stop Wake.....

...I have to say..I am wrong about a lot more things than I am right..I am the Matt Millen of the cyber GM"S. It may be too early to say. But judging by what we know today, and what we are seeing tonight. I was on the right side of the coin when it came to Jeff Fisher..

I think he is a good coach, He is a fly fisherman, and his son played for the Griz. But I was happy when we passed on him. I can't say that I was a Philbin guy just because the only thing any of us knew about him was that he was the Packer OC..Just a name if you want to be homest..

..Anyway. Fisher may get the Rams turned around one day. But after watching his team tonight. I feel pretty good about our guy. About the choice this team made.

Odin, Wontit be 4 and 0?????

=======================================================

OK, picture me as Count Von Count, Mr. Menace.

Ah.......ONE Win!

Ah.......TWO Wins!

Ah......Ok, Ok-LOL!

It WILL be 4 wins by Monday Night Brother!

But for now, I'm STILL reveling in it! 3-0 Baby!
===============================================

How Bout Dis.....

"The Perfect Storm" Soon To Be - 4-0 Baby!!!!

Taylor is going to be a real good CB. He will shine and step up when this guy plays.
BTW, where are all the Jake Long fans?? Hope big Jake and his wife are enjoying their time with the Rams. At least they will be off early this year, no worrying about those playoffs. Lol

Odin, 4 And 0 sounds great to me...........

Oh, that's right, all the Jeff Fisher fans to. Where you be at??

Darryl,

I get what you're saying and I agree. I'm just getting antsy thinking about how good(How good I think these two will be)our defense will be.

Also, I agree on that TD Wilson got counted for. That was a BIG mismatch. Ryan found it and nailed it. Bad call by Coyle or somebody in my opinion.

Wilson should be able to hold his own on the one hand. But Coyle has to do better than to give up these kinds of mismatches on the Goal Line.

Having said all that, Wilson did use bad technique on that particular play.

Ultimately, Me Personally, I just happen to think that Davis is already better than Wilson and possibly better than Carroll. But, I realize that's just me, I don't get to see half of what the Coaches get to see. I'm going off of Camp reports, Pre Season Recordings and a whole bunch of youtube clips(it is what it is-LOL).

We'll find out what the Coaches think Soon Enough!

Somebody mentioned the Coaches Tape to me last week. I didn't even know it existed. But I will be getting it very soon. Thanks for the Heads Up Though.

Cuban,

Can you believe this stuff? How these Dolphins?

How many games did you have them down for at the start of the season?

I was going with 9-7 publicly(deep down, I was thinking more like 10 or even a lucky 11-LOL).

Having said that, I wasn't expecting a 3-0 showdown with the Saints on Monday Night Football!

Were you the Guy predicting a 4 win season for the Air Breathing Mamals-LOL?

The best part about the Falcons game is when Grimes told #36 on SATURDAY that he would cause a fumble on special teams.

Prediction came thru... it's the BROTHERHOOD baby...

Darryl,

Well said at 11:17, that's it in a nutshell.

Philbin was a total unkown to me. But he won me over pretty quickly. I remember some people cutting on him for how he came off on Hard Knocks.

It didn't bother me at all. He seemed like he had his feet squarely on the ground and knew exactly what he wanted to do with this team.

The best part........he's Doing It-LOL!

..Odin. I'm rooting for the young guys.. I have been a fan of Will Davis since the Senior Bowl. And Taylor would have been a first round pick if not for his kidney troubles. I have no doubt that both will have something to say(positive) before the season is over. It just scares me this particular week.

What I would like to see is for the team to quit messing around with Vernon and Jordan. and just let the rookie go. I think Wake plays this week. IMO only way we win this game is to get pressure on Brees. If we don't it may not matter who is in the secondary.

I will say...The defense has figured out whatever it is that they needed to in the second half of these last 2 games. Something is happening, could be advanced scouting and the recognition of tendencies, and personel groupings. Maybe the strategy to defer gives the coordinator, and coaches an opportunity to see more of what the offense gives away with that extra possession. I don't know. Whatever they are doing. The adjustments have been tremendous..

Miami will spank nawlins, bet on it!

GO MIAMI

Don Jones looked like a man among boys while in college.

I have a clip here and on the 3rd play he does a nice body slam. Kool technique. The clip ends with another typ of Body Slam! Both different from the one against Douglas(?) last Sunday.

In this clip he blocks a punt, jumps up and finds the ball and returns it for TD.

I didn't think he had a chance in Hell of making our roster. But now that I've checked him out more, he has all the makings of a special teams demon!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpIk4xUTRA0

It's worth the time to watch the clip.

Darryl,

I think that "SOMETHING" that's happening is Coyle.

He did a GREAT Job in Cincinatti and he's carrying on business as usual. I think it's some of his personal assistants that he brought with him too.

I think Carroll and Wilson are a good example of this. It's impossible not to acknowledge the improvements both of these guys have made. Come on, Nolan Carroll Handle Julio Jones!

Not taking anything away from Carroll or Wilson(though, before Coyles arrival, both were marginal or close to the chopping block), but since Coyle arrived our secondary as a whole has steadily improved.

I personally think that Coyle is the real deal. He's one of the rare exceptions that really knows what he's doing **AND** how to Coach It! He's done it for two different teams now, stepped up here in Miami and hasn't missed a beat. He's made a believer out of me.

The only Bad part, I've ALREADY read articles that mention how Coyle could soon be a candidate to be a Head Coach somewhere in the NFL!

Final thoughts,

Jeff Fisher is 1-3 on the season.

Also, this I didn't know, Jake Long(Fisher's prized Free Agent signee)struggled so bad in St. Louis that they had to move him inside and have Max Starks play Left Tackle.

Huh? What?

Anyways, that might not even be the bad news. Long is out injured again. They're already calling his return "Probable". But, we all know how the big guy struggles when playing hurt.

Oh wait, he was already struggling.

Wait some more, he was just coming off an injury.

The point is, Thank God for Joe Philbin and lets beat the snot out of Drew Brees and the New Orlean Saints!

The Perfect Storm Baby! 3-0!!!!

Rob Ryan has only Blitzed 34 out of 105 pass plays....

Saints horrible safeties must be exploited....

Bucs locked up Graham with a large DE...jammed him at the line...

OV and Jordan must have a big day...

Stop NO from running screens...

You read it here. Seattle Seahawks are the best team in football. Took Caroll what ? Three years ? Ireland buys a 9-7 team in year #6 and he gets an extension. Phins are a team committed to mediocrity. Forty one years w/o a Super Bowl win. Twenty nine years w/o an appearance. Don't expect these things to change anytime soon. Ross and Ireland are imbeciles.

Here's something you never hear a guy say :

"Now if you'll excuse me I've got a fat girl coming over" : )

Go to bed you drunk, even the Fatties stand you up!!!!

YAWN-LOL!

Good to read that C.M is starting to post again.Starting to feel like old times

The 2013 Miami Dolphins lead the NFL in Red Zone TD proficiency, that is they are the most efficient offense in the NFL at scoring TDs in the Red Zone. They are listed at 87% which I think is 7Tds out of 8 trips to the Red Zone.
I have them perfect in the Red Zone 7 out of 7.The difference in my record keeping is that in the Cleveland game they started a series of downs outside of the Cleveland 20 yard line and they moved inside of the 20 for a 3rd down play which they didnt convert and kicked a 36 yard FG in the 4th quarter.I am not being biased in my record keeping but I consider a Red Zone posssession one that starts with a new set of downs inside the 20 yard line.I dont think ONE play inside of your opponents 20 yard line constitutes a Red Zone possession.
The Dolphins team was terrible for years at scoring TDs in the Red Zone you can research it if you like, but I know they were because I was blogging about this more than 5 years ago.I think the Wildcat play was originated partly to help them score TDs in the RZ.
