I bet Jeff Fisher is regretting his decision to coach the Rams over the Dolphins. Remember he thought that the Rams had more talent and a better QB, with those brillant insights I am glad he choose the lowly Rams

Jake Long!!!! Hahahahahha

I hope we see plenty of Taylor, Davis, and Jenkins!! We need to see pups in action and see if they bite!!!!

I have confidence in the coaching staff to get this right.

Let me just say. I was not a fan of the Dolphins drafting Tavon Austin and boy was I right?

Do you see this kid getting jammed at the line of scrimmage?

Do you see his hands of stone?

I realize fans get caught up in hype for a player, but it is sad when a whole organization does! This kid is as explosive as diarrhea! Fisher is gonna squander all these draft picks on mediocre / crappy players.

Anyone notice how Jake Long has a brace on every appendage and looks fat and slow and spent alot of time on the turf. My favorite play is when he had to defenders to block on a blitz. He couldnt figure which one to block, so he decided to block neither LMAO

I wanted Jake Long back, but I am so glad he signed with the Lams!

Odin,

Yes, BIG GAME and it's winnable. Playing in their house shouldn't stop us, we have the players and still building on our foundation. It's about the coaches establishing a solid game plan with adjustments as necessary, and the players executing properly.

1- Curious to see if the team can continue with only one penalty for a third game? If you ask me, this stat alone gives tremendous insight of the coaching and player decipline. O Line is getting ragged out by everyone, but no holding calls for two weeks straight (I believe that's correct?) is remarkable for a struggling group. If they struggle and play bad, they usually hold to dear life on the defense so the QB doesn't get killed.

2- We may see some new wrinkles on both offense and defense and maybe catch the Saints off guard, since we don't play them often and they are unfamiliar with our new schemes. There is plenty of tape on Bree's, not so with the new Sherman & Tannehill schemes with Wallace, Sims, Clay in various positions, and even unleash our new unseen secret weapon "Da Egnew."

3- Expect a crazy Super Bowl show case by ESPN building up this game, but be prepared for one sided coverage on New Orleans. Their Talking Heads will probably constantly talk about the fantastic turn around of the Saints from their lousy last year to how Bree's really missed his HC Payton. No love for the Fins again, expect it.

4- Looking to see if Sherman makes THill use his legs and either rolls out or move more in the pocket. Understand Sherman doesn't want him running, but he either HAS to throw it away or move within the pocket so he doesn't get hit so much. Miller, Thomas, Clay, and Clutts...your on notice, BLOCK dammit!

5- Friend of mine is a huge Titain fan going far back from being an Oiler. I remember him telling me that Fisher is VERY over rated and the only reason he gets noticed is because of his longevity in the league. He tends to be choosey with players and pick sides, players have issues with him because he plays favorites BIG TIME. Case in point, the issues with Vince Young who the owner wanted (needed to spark the team with the heisman winner and ticket sales) and Fisher consistently battled. Ego v. Ego, problem was Young's Ego had the owners side. Fisher lost.

Also he told me that Fisher runs for the most part a very plain game plan, very low risk and is NOT creative at all, would drive us Fin fans crazy. A continuation of Sporano, Fishers time in St. Louis will not be long if he doesn't win consistently soon. Those people where used to a team that provided the "Greatest show on Turf," which it's not even close and Fisher does not have the type of football mindset to provide such excitement.

Madfin,

I agree with you on Egnew. For some reason I see this game as a coming out party. Not in a gay way LOL

Rdubs,

The new system is heavy on player development. The coaches in place are about a teaching mindset, this is what Philbin brings to the Fins. Da Egnew is Da Project of Philbin who with Ireland saw major potential coming out of college. He may turn out out to be a very dynamic TE in due time.

My main concern, which other good Blog Head mentioned here it is that Coyle is getting talked about in media circles. Thanks God, coaches don't go against the CAP. Cuz the door will come knocking on Coyle and other Coordinators if we have a 10-6 season or better. Boss Ross will have to open the wallet a little bit wider to keep'em.

It would really suck to lose hold of our new system when the coaches get poached, by other teams. You can reload on players within your system and draft, but coaches that work well can be much harder to replace.

Case in point, Shula did everything to bring back D Coordinator Bill Arsbarger back when he lost him to another team. FO and Ross can't let this happen.

Madfin,

I believe we have his replacement on the staff. Kacy Rogers. I realize so far this season the d-line hasnt looked great, but I think he has proven to get the most out of his players and I think he is due to move up to DC. With that being said, our D's stats will need to look better on paper, before Coyle has a chance to move up!

We are 3-0 because of Joe Philbin...period.

Guy reminds me of Bill Walsh...low key yet smart as a whip.

He can get his players to reach their potential and stay focused...our lack of penalties is key.

Tannehill is progressing vs. Bradford who last night was a QB in decline.

My only concern, and it's not what I expected...is our Defense. Yes we finally are seeing some turnovers and INT's that have been lacking, but last week we looked 'lost' on many plays.

I fear veteran QB's will pick apart our secondary and when will we ever be able to stop a TE down the middle?

Jimmy Graham will have a HUGE night against us unless Coyle makes adjustments.

I thought we'd lose to Atlanta. Glad I was wrong but I'm still not quite sure how we won that game aside from the obvious, we scored more points. Smith denied it but Gonzalez was banged up even though he stayed in the game (decoy) and that helped. No matter how effectively Miami adjusted, they didn't keep Gonzalez from making plays without his "help". I have concerns in some areas, not just the OL, but at 3-0, I'm not going to criticize Miami looking bend-but-don't-break. It was good enough to get the win. But they will need to be better against the Saints.

Grier,

I dont think the Dolphins were concerned with Gonzales last week. They will give him 7 yard catches all day, their emphasis was on Julio then Roddy. This week Graham will be Coyle's main concern. They wont stop Graham, but they can make sure he doesnt kill us.

I predict that Soliai will play on Monday...he's a gamer and will find a way to get clearance.

Wake is another story...not sure if he makes it for this game.

If we can't stop the run (Soliai) or put pressure on Brees (Wake), our D could be in for a long night.

Dion Jordan can silence the few critics that remain by putting Brees on his back 5 or 6 times.

Patterson must have really pulled his groin bad, we need his presence in the secondary and pray for a speedy recovery.

I think Wake plays and Soliai doesnt. I think with them having the same injury basically, I think Wake's body type could play with it better. Soliai is just to big and has to take on 2 guys with a bum knee. I am not sure I want either playing, though.

I bet Wake plays. The guy is just a freak when it comes to injuries. I don't think he has missed a game his whole career. (knocks on wood)

Soliai I would really like to have back for the Ravens game, but if he needs to sit out until after the bye I would understand.

Where are all those people saying we needed to resign Jake Long and sign Fisher. Rams look like a mess right now.

Though of you who said Jeff Fisher sucks I agree hea terrible his playcalling is antique im so glad he declined the Dolphins offer that was a close one. Bradford is a joke at QB he got 60 million guranteed wow! Jake Long sucks how can a guy decline so quickly, him and his wife can enjoy there cold long winter!

All of the Sun Sentinel staff picked the Saints!! Come on folks, can someone have some damn faith in our team!

Maybe its good everyone think the Saint's will win. Maybe they wont take us seriously and we beat them down!

Turnovers will be key to the MNF game.

We all know Brees will score a few TD's and Tannehill will get his chances for rebuttal.

Special teams & turnovers...Get er' done!

Who cares what Sun Sentinel thinks? Screw their faith!

THIS TEAM FINDS WAYS TO WIN....FINS WILL RISE...

COYLE, U MUST JAM GRAHAM AT THE LINE, JUST LIKE THE BUCS DID....

SAINTS HORRIBLE SECONDARY WILL BE EXPOSED...

EFFE the SS staff Rdubs. Remember last week, pretty much everyone was picking us to lose that one too. Obviously, they all know SHYTE! You gotta play the game.

I can tell you I'm a celebrity today (actually ALL week). The eyes of the WORLD have descended on our little franchise. EVERYONE wants to see if we are for real or not. I already told my manager, I'm leaving early Monday and coming in late Tuesday.

In Dolphins We Trust! E pluribus dolphineum!!!! GET 'EMMM!

Yes, I saw Long go out in the 1st half. I also see how good Bradford is with a "legendary" LT.

Just goes to show, everyone who claimed Long was the right pick in '08 were 100%, absolutely WRONG and should be embarrassed today for going along with that mistake. I talking about admitting you were wrong IN HINDSIGHT! Here's a dominant player for what, 3-4 years, and now he's a shell of himself. And he costs so damned much you can't even get quality talent at skill positions. Ireland deserves an extension SOLELY for understanding Long leaving would not be detrimental to the team in the long run.

Also, if I'm going to take a lineman with my first pick in the draft, then he damned sure better be there for a 8-10 years. FOUR YEARS? Are you kidding me?

But that's water under the bridge. Ireland understands his mistakes, Philbin is there to make sure of that, and we now have a FO that can take our team to greater heights. Dolphins for life!

Has Irescum been fired yet?

Odin...from the first page....

I'll take a serving of that...just make sure my hoy sauce is TEXAS PETE's...Maybe Lousianna in a pinch...

Hot sauce connasuare's....feel free tell me how I have low class taste buds....maybe "garage mechanic" taste buds...or "corned beef" taste buds....

I know what I like....

Rude Awakening awaiting for many of you Phins Phans Monday night.

Good luck...because you're going to need it.

WHO DAT!

LOL Kris, I actually am one of those connoisseur's you speak of, but I get that people like what they like. And actually, it really has more to do with what you're putting it on. For example, with my eggs, Tobasco works best. I want that vinegar-y taste and not too much heat. Then, for asian-inspired dishes, you GOTTA have Sirrachi. Nothing better. But for my everyday hot sauce, I like a habenero-lime specialty hot sauce I get from the Islands. If you like the goopy, thick hot sauce and want real heat, then try Matouk's (careful, it's no joke).

Keep your mayo, ketchup, any other condiment Americans swear by. Me, all I need is a bottle of hot sauce and I'm happy.

Grier,

The D was able to contain Gonzales for 47 yards, I believe. After Misi rung his bell with that hit, it's like he really slowed down the rest of the game. If we keep Graham under 75 yards without giving up a big play to the other receivers, we may have a great day.

Truth,

Yea, Fisher sucks and so happy he ran for cover up in the mid-west. I don't think he would survive two seasons here before we all would want his head. Striking out on him was a God send. Also props with dumping Long, he didn't really want to be here. And if you don't want to be here, your not a Philbin player.

Philbin reminds me of a blend of Walsh's smart's, Dungee's low key demeanor, and Shula's no-nonsense approach. Get on his bad side and your quitely gone. The players are realizing who they have leading them coach wise, they respect him. They know he doesn't mess around, all business baby.

Armando,

PLEASE clarify the Satan Practice Bubble name. Is it a joke with the reporters, or is it really still named after the Great Satan? Can you give us some insight??

As far as the Sentinel....or any other "haters"...

The FINS are undefeated until they lose....

i might sound compicated...but its not....

It is not an opinion....It is a FACT...and as such....those talking about the FINS should conduct themselves accordingly....

As long as D Thomas and M Egnew are on the roster we just can not be considered a good team.

After 4 consecutive losing seasons I just cant get excited about 3 wins over weak opponents....

DC...I love the Goopy...thick Hot sauce....I hate tobasco....that stuff is just hot with no flavor...o as I like to say...just hot for no reason....

I have tried some different Hot sauces....asian inspired, mexican inspired, and probably a few other countries...and I like most of them....but when I get to the store...I can never remember the name of them....so it's back to "Old faithful"...Texas pete...or Lousianna's. those arre names I know...

I do love my ketchup up tho...don't care much for mustard...except on a hotdog...and I don't know how ANYBODY can eat a sandwich without MAYO....what planet are you people from...

:)

Jus saying....

Both the Colts and Falcons will be in the play-offs...

I can't buy the "weak teams" theory....they were legit opponnets...we were jus better...

I hear you on the 4 consecutive losing seasons...but it looks like we break the trend this year....

Wow Kris,

do love my ketchup up tho...don't care much for mustard...except on a hotdog...and I don't know how ANYBODY can eat a sandwich without MAYO....what planet are you people from...

This is exactly right. Right down to only liking mustard on a hot dog. You sir have good taste

Please Enlighten me folks! Why is everyone in the media, riding the Taints jock? I mean we arent playing the F'n Broncos or Seahawks. I guess I am just a dumb homer.

Wallace seems to to like playing on turf, he will be very effective monday.

maybe Jenkins will cover Graham alot in this game.

Dolphins want this game badly, i hope Wake is ok and doesn't hurt his knee any worse because he wants to play and same with Solia.

Rdubs....

I admire your taste and choice of use in codiments as well...

I thought I would be whooping you up in Madden...but the internet in MO sucks...the game would freeze up....we will most likely have to take up arms (in madden) when I get settled in Germany....you can get an overseas whooping...

Its been fun for a few mins men....

I gotta run...hope to catch some of you guys in a few days....

GO FINS....

Hopefully, Miami can get their running game going strong this game (finally). The Saints are vulnerable to the run, plus it sets up the play-action-pass which will give Tannehill the time he needs to go deep to Wallace. And, the quick slant to Wallace should be in effect all day. A few more screens to Wallace wouldn't hurt either. Unleash the rookie Jordan on Brees!

The Dolphins found a way to beat the Colts and Atlanta and that kind of magic must be used to beat New Orleans on Monday night! There will be lots of media attention win or lose with both teams 3-0 and both considered Top 10 teams. This game is VERY important for both teams. Expect a slugfest that probably comes down to bad calls by the officials and a field goal!

Tabsco is great to cook with, but Crystal (Louisiana's Pure Hot Sauce) from Baumer Foods is the best hot sauce for table use in my opinion. Great stuff on oysters, fried chicken, fried fish, red beans & rice, etc. But, I don't use it on Mexican food, Cuban food, etc. For that, I have a homemade sauce that's excellent. We grow our own in Southeast Alabama...

jake long was the Big tuna's pick

Saints haven't beaten anybody good yet.

The NFL talking heads are praying Dolphins loose so they can say see we told ya so...

if not they all look stupid....

antbody out there?

If we win toss i hope we take ball first.....

None of the three teams the saints played will make the playoffs
Two of the teams the dolphins beat will surely make the playoffs
That alone should weigh more in favor of the dolphins wining
During the pre season game the saints played the starters for 2 quarters against the dolphins
We still won that game although we played our second and third stringers the whole game
I think the dolphins will win this one
We are not the old team that folded when down
This team does not give up and our d is much improved
Our offense is averaging mid twenties per game
We will win this game. Y either 3 or 7 points

I do expect a trick play this week on special teams

This game with the Saints in a lot of ways is a can’t lose proposition. Win or lose, barring a blowout, the Dolphins are cooking with gas. Let me be clear, the Dolphins will play to win. This is a regular season game and any other mindset would obviously be unacceptable. Now after having said that, do the Dolphins have a chance to make a MAJOR statement? Absolutely. Is this a "must win"? No. New Orleans is not a conference foe and more importantly not a division foe. Being 3-0 further states that it's not a game the Dolphins absolutely must win.

Still with me?

The Dolphins are playing mistake-free football. One penalty in two games has Philben written all over it. No offensive holding penalties while leading the league in sacks allowed is downright impressive and downright concerning all at the same time. Being on the plus side of the turnover ratio was and remains the team’s number one priority this year. Currently, the Dolphins are Plus 2 in turnover ratio. From a standpoint of discipline, the dolphins are on a roll and are eager to keep it going, especially against a good team on their home field and in front of their home fans. The Dolphins have a chance to showcase what they are about in front of a national audience on Monday night. That light will shine bright on Philbin as well. A win will label the Dolphins as road warriors and put them on mantle closer to our beloved Heat. That would be a statement.
But does the season take a downward turn if they lose? No. Even if they don’t show up and play poorly? Again, No. Would it light a fire going into next week’s game at home against the Ravens? You bet.

Looking back at our last three games, I see a lot of mistakes. I see mistakes in coverage, contain, and tackling on D. I see mistakes in catching, blocking, and route recognition between WR and QB. I see these things in our team and every team that I break down on NFL rewind--I love this birthday present.
Please excuse my digression, but I have seen these things repeatedly from our beloved Dolphins over the years.
The one thing that I see that I have not been seeing from our boys over the last many years is that we are also making plays. We are forcing fumbles, making clutch catches and tackles, getting key first downs and preventing likewise.
Expecting perfection is unrealistic, aspiring to it is professional.
Making plays wins games.
