The latest from Dolphins camp right here

The Dolphins are back working and preparing for Indianapolis today and here's what's going on:

CBs Dimitri Patterson (groin) and Jamar Taylor (groin) are not practicing today. QB Pat Devlin (ankle) is not practicing today.

CB Will Davis, who missed last week's practices and game against Cleveland with a toe injury, returned to practice today. He practiced at least on a limited basis.

The Dolphins did a couple of practice squad transactions today. The club signed QB Austin Davis and cornerback Devin Smith to the practice squad. The club cut CB De'Andre Presley and DT Al Lapuaho off practice squad.

The there's this:

The Dolphins, I'm told, are not pleased with their special teams kick and punt coverage coming off the Cleveland game. The Dolphins today rank 31st in the NFL in punt return defense and they rank 25th in kick return defense.

So the club is considering some changes to the coverage teams. I'm told the team will give practice squader Jordan Kovacs, a safety, a long look on coverage teams this week and if he responds with great work in practice, he might be promoted to the regular roster to work on special teams against Indianapolis.

=======================================================I don't know about Dolphin weight room routines but I suspect adduction/abbduction on cable cross machine goes by the wayside. I never see any guys at my gym doing them. Could it be they're viewed as a girly thing? I have just recently added them due to hip surgery and I can tell you you'll feel it in places you didn't know existed

cocoa I was always intrugied by the cable workout, are they really that effective?

Just read that it was said Philbin "stumbled on to the Thursday off day after the Seattle win, players said they felt more refreshed".

Omar wrote it. I'm not a hater, I know I'm hard on Omar but it's just because we don't see eye to eye. He has his positives and I do still read his stuff. But man I wish he would stop being such a know it all and admit when he's wrong.

He was JUST reporting that Philbin doesn't listen to his players. Then someone wrote a story about how Philbin was approached by the players after the Seattle game and they told him the Thursday off day kept them more fresh for game day. And instead of saying 'my bad, I guess he might listen to them once in awhile he reports the news, and then follows up by insinuating he doesn't believe it and will have to investigate further.

And this is my theory, Omar has a problem with the authority figures who are in charge of the players because he has somehow built himself into a mouthpiece for all that isn't fair to the players (in his mind). He was friends with Dansby and others who were cut. And sometimes it comes off like he has an axe to grind with the coaching staff. Good writer, better camp analyst, but his style makes him look unprofessional at times.

If we don't find a running game, this is going to be a long, long, long, season.

cocoajoe another way to build those up is by ice skating. Not public skating, hard back and forths red line to red line. Kind of like basketball drills on skates. Unfortunately most of the guys in the nfl would break their necks if they ever put skates on so your way is probably safer :)

True Beerburp. Indi is going to load up in the defensive backfield I suspect and dare us to run. We couldn't even run effectively against a FOUR MAN FRONT!

So expect a heavy dose of Miller to start the game. Figuring out the running game is the only way to make sure we have a shot at the playoffs . They can not be one dimensional because we don't have the talent for that ,,,yet.

Shane Vereen is placed on the IR. He will be out for 8 weeks. The earliest game he can come back is the Nov. 18 game against CAR.

I'm really surprised no one is talking about the complete lack of our running game. If we can get that going, along with our defense and hopefully improved quarterback play, we could be hard to beat. Without a running game we are sub .500 for sure.

I've always done cable crosses with arms/shoulders of course and yes they are. More of a natural movement. But just in the last few months, I've added adduction/abbduction. It's better and more of a natural body movement than those seated machines

These WRs we are going to face this week, are not equal to, the ones we faced last week. Neither is their QB.

Ha! Not much ice skating here in Fla. but I can tell you know what I mean

Mando's name is in blue, It truly must be him.

not necessarily could be a hotmail or yahoo account and the name will be show in blue

Good try for the troll. Good luck next time

lol

Why is it that New England gets to play Buffalo when the turf in that stadium isn't frozen but every year we get to play on that hockey rink?

Two a days don't make guys any less susceptible to contusions. The reason guys get hurt more today is they are bigger, run faster and hit harder. They game is totally opened allowing bigger hits in the middle of the field.

Sorry, Adrian. I though everyone would know that last post was bleeding sarcasm.

watching the game with the Texans last night, when they were down by 3 td's... you could tell that they still believed they could win the game, and you could even imagine that happening... regardless how good the dolphins offense appears to be.... not until they reach that point, will they be contenders...cause if they fall behind by 3 td's... fans are empting seats, tv's are turning off.. and coaches are looking ahead to the next game....

Someone wondered why we aren't running an up tempo offense when? Philbin has wanted to but you have to have the total package if you want to stay on the field. We can't pick up a 3rd and 2 on the ground. Much less pick up running yardage on 1st or 2nd, Making the first downs a bit easier. Unless we pass the ball on every down we'd be off the field in seconds. Can't say that about Philly! They can run the ball and have RBs that can get into space and catch the ball.

Another thing about Philly that if they were playing a team that had the ability to make 1st downs their # of offense plays would've far less. They were playing good D but Griffin was but a shadow of his former self. Doubt if you'll see Shanahan asking another QB of his to run the 'read option'! It was painful watching him play last night. They gave a truck load of draft choices to get him and they've done everything in their power to see that he fails. Without his running he was a very fine young passer. Now he can't step forward into the throw. Well done Shanahan!!!!

The Dullfins won a game! Lets throw a parade!

The only way that'll happen is if we get Jake Long and Reggie Bush back.

Vowed t spend less time posting here, and I have, despite what ignoramuses here think.

Seriously, spending to much time here can force even the most loving dolfan to become less dolfan by the minute.

That's just how awful some of you jacktards are. Just a shame you're to unintelligent enough to know it....

I think the problems are far greater then Long and Bush. But Bush would be welcome.

Apparently it took an intervention by Philbin to get Sherman to pass the ball down the field, on that 4th Q drive, instead of wasting plays in trying to run it! Is Sherman that out of touch with reality?

May be, but there are also the "read option", This can open the running game, but the risk is high.

I think that Coach Sherman will release strategies slowly, and only when necessary.

Love F......feel the same way. When we can talk football, great! When we start calling people dumb, stupid or retarded it makes for a childish Blog. If someone doesn't care for another's comments either ignore or enter into a debate. Nothing more is needed.

If it wasn't for the children I suspect Armando might offer an opinion or two. That would be both good reading and good blogging!

I believe Washington has demonstrated the folly of the 'read option'! Even the 49er's have taken it almost completely off the table.

Oh, so it's the 'double secret probation' type of strategy. You need to read the latest Philbin quotes regarding passing.

OK, Miss Daisy. Hahahaha, what is this? Alabama in 1958?

Ban Dashi for inappropriate language.

Armando, setup bloggers to moderate the blog for you. Give them post deleting power and the problem will disappear. That's what every forum does. Delete and ban.

Ban Do It, for being a cry baby, D bag.

Just ban Dashe and Odin and its a much better blog.

That may have been Odin that was imitating Armando. He may be banned already.

Man, this is the week you DON'T want to put Will Davis in there. Nolan Carroll anyone?

Yeah, I love Jordan Kovacs.

If given the chance, he'll excel on the coverage units. Kovacs' reminds me so much of Zach Thomas, it's endearing.

He's extremely hard working and like Zach, makes up for physical limitations with smarts and study.

I believe he'll also prove to be a good fit at **STRONG Safety** in Coyle's system. A solid back up that will eventually challenge for a starting job. Kovacs' is an assassin on kick coverage. He'll be FUN to watch!

Good Luck Jordan!!!!

13-3. ;)

Without using insults I'll just put it like this. You HUGELY underestimate the intelligence of Armando. I suppose you want one of the circle-jerkers to be that person nominated.

Its you circle-jerk committee who's responsible for at least 85% of all the filth in this blog alone. At least 2 of you are the aliases you call trolls. Playing both your enemy and your friend.

YG is a fool, and Armando is a paper tiger. We've heard the threats before about banning inappropriate language, yet YG's name still appears. And talks about circle- jerking.

Did Ireland land any new linemen? Thats the question.
