« The issues with getting the ball deep to Mike Wallace | Main | Ravens beat Dolphins 26-23, bye next »

Dolphins vs. Ravens live blog (and other things)

Cameron Wake is active for today's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

That's a big deal for the Dolphins as they try to take down the defending Super Bowl champions. Wake will be matched up against Michael Oher -- you know, the kid from the blindside who happens to play the right side for Baltimore.

Randy Starks is slated to start at defensive tackle.

The other inactives are: QB Pat Devlin, RB Mike Gillislee, CB, Dimitri Patterson, CB Will Davis, LB Josh Kaddu, G Danny Watkins, and G Dallas Thomas.

For the Ravens, it is notable that WR Jacoby Jones is inactive. That's big.

It's also interesting that LT Eugene Monroe, acquired from Jacksonville this week, is inactive. Bryant McKinnie will start at LT.

Of course, if there's a live game, there's a live blog. Join below.

Don't blame Wallace on that last series. We had 50 seconds left. Why don't we just roll Tannehill out he throws a great pass on the run. Wake up Sherman

On pace for 80 sacks eh?

I have no idea why Thill spiked it on first down. Bad mistake. We had over a minute with the ball at the 30. Crazy to spike it there. Coaches have got to be calmer. A minute us loads of time at their 30

Mike I love your wife's boobs also.

The bye is coming at the right time. Hopefully we get wake, Ellerbe, Patterson, and Carroll all healthy on defense and some how get the line better and our receivers catching better.

Listening to Philbin's press conference. He is an unemotional droid. This guy couldn't motivate a fruit fly.

Maybe he can work it in his contract extension, you know like the one they gave Ireland on the low down during the off season. One thing I must say about Tannehill is they ran the ball 12x? You can't do that and win!

Any simpleton knew our O-line needed help and he stood pat. Clabo is not the Clabo we knew when he was 26-7. These guys get beat left right and center.

Clueless in Miami eh?

Tannehill threw behind Wallace a zillion times. Put Matt Moore in.

OL is horrible, I agree, but then why not get Tannehill out of the pocket? He throw's well on the run. Where are the rollouts? It's game 5, obvious to everyone in the world but Sherman and Tannehill. And how do you take a sack on 1st down at the end there? Why spike it on first down (there was plenty of time). Horrible final drive.

Everyone keeps yelling about tannehill but I really don't put any of the sacks on him today. The line was as bad as it gets.i

The Dolphins will be mediocre at best as long as Philbin, Sherman, and Fireland are at the helm.

Sparano 2.o eh?

They deserve this loss. This team SUCKS! Coach Phil-bean and Mike She-man, pathetic, one dimensional. Ryan Crapenhill, no accuracy, can't throw deep. As much as I hate to say it, I'd rather we kept Henne now. There is no difference. Tyson Clabo, can they just release him tonight? The O-line, can they release them ALL tonight? This team is just terrible! Could've and should've been an easy win. The superbowl champs are not playing well. Crapenhill plays scared. Wallace again on the right side (even though it wouldn't matter, he can't catch). Why don't they use Marcus Thigpen more on offense. Well what the hell it probably would'nt matter. THIS TEAM SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS!

"We'll get this cleaned up."

now that they lost to the ravens i can say the season is over. the rest of the leaque has caught up with them. to many sacks. and they need to stop the GO-GO command on running plays. it's over folks. the team just doesn't have heart.

Tannehill is about as immobile as Marino was in his last year playing. See those big defenders coming?? MOVE , ROLL OUT, DON'T JUST STAND THERE AND TAKE A SACK!!!!

Tje team sucks stop digging up the fools gold.7-9, what they desrve.eh?

We squander the home field heat advantage by practicing in an air conditioned dome. Stupidest thing DAAAFINS ever did.

Jaison, after 20 sacks in 5 games how do you as a QB continue to stand like a statue in the pocket for 5 sec? I counted on 2 of them. Most are not on him, but he needs to get himself out of trouble, the OL is what it is.

This crap of a team just needs a new facelift starting from the top. Ross sell! Ireland just go away!

Tannehill's lack of pocket awareness together with the inability of the line to block, tells me the season is all but over. The decision to spike the ball with over one minute left was pathetic, with the rate our recievers drop balls Rt should have got up there called a quick screen pass and take it from there. At 4-1 into the break tied with the Pats we could have found a lot of confidence from that and moved on. this loss buts us in the cra9 basket. Philbin is meant to be a smart guy... wrong and RT is going to be a M.D, I wouldn't let him near my toe nails. This one really hurts !!!

Half the time labo or Martin got the sack by being pushed into tannehill. 3-2 is ok. This loss hurts because we really could have and should have won it. Too many drops, too many sacks and the refs basically gave them a TD with those two awful PI penalties. Most people would have been very happy with a 3-2 start. But now we are just loaded with whiners!!

The QB sucks.eh?

Tannehill can not extend the plays. And his accuracy is non existent.

Philbin's philosophy - If it's not working let's just keep trying it over and over again until it does.

No yac QB =useless.its the QB stupid.eh?

if the o-line competes we win that game. Tannehill and Wallace aren't on the same page. Some throws to Wallace were not accurate but some of that has to do with Wallace not being in the spot Tannehill expects him to be. I never thought Clabo would be this bad. He gives up so many sacks. The sack at the end killed them.

Wasnt Henne better?

The QB is a MOrOn.eh

"Overall I thought the offensive line played pretty well. There were a few miscues here and there but we're making progress. That's about all I have to say on that issue."

The team sucks, bring on 2014 eh?

Wallace doesn't understand what he is supposed to do in this offense, that's why he drops so many.

I've been saying this again and again, put Yeatman in at TE! We will be able to run the ball and allow the deep passes to develop to Wallace. Why can't Sherman switch gears?

As fans,we have a right to complain, when you see the same garbage time after time. This O-line is total garbage,if I were Ross,No game checks.Make a statement, this type of play is unacceptable.

More excuses eh?

The GM ia a moron

Clabo should be on the unemployment line tomorrow.

Clabo = clabbored eh?

Of course our defense folds like a cheap suit when the game is on the line. Groundhog Day once again.

Same coach new GM new QB like the Jets eh?

We haven't even mentioned the stellar running game we possess!!

Guys tannehill has the arm and talent to be a solid QB. With a line like that, what QB will have any success. With no running game to speak of, the defense can pin their ears back. When they didnt get Albert in the offseason i knew it was going to be a rough go as far as success along the line. I dont see this line getting fixed as where is the help going to come from

Im really starting to lose faith in T Hill. He goes down like Bambi under the rush. There have been at least 12 occasions this year when he could have easily run for big yardage but he waits to be sacked like a lamb to the slaughter. Aaron Rogers never did this in ~Philbins system, so why is Tannehill. Looks like they have told him to take the sack rather than run because he is a liabilty handling the ball. This begs the question why stick with him ??? He has this season and probably next to see if he can fix this. It's a shame because he has good short ramge passes and can hurl it deep. Today he has zero help from the line and 6 plus drops so its in no way all on him. /the time wilted today and doesn't seem to be getting any leadership from Tannehill. I guess getting rid off Bush and Long is really hurting us now. Also our defense is a mess with injuries and a very weak secondary.

I called this game 27-16 Dolphins.

I would've been right if it weren't for 2 things:

1) Wallace dropping a 3rd and 2 in the redzone. Should've been a TD drive, we settled for 3.

2) The refs gave a TD to the Ravens on two bogus PI calls.

Marco @ 4:37PM

I picked a post to read of the thousand or so posts here....you win.

The season is far from "all but over". It's normal to be bummed...I know I am....

I'm pretty sure little Jeffy has a 5 year plan to fix the offensive line.

Keep throwing the passes behind the targets they will drop most of them, its the QB stupid, eh?

The really sad thing is that the entire front office, from Ross and Ireland on down to Philbin and Sherman, will see this loss as a positive because the score was so close. Pathetic.

This is just a vicious cycle for us Dolfans. Year after year after year after freakin year, this team goes 6-10 or 7-9, then its up to Jeff Ireland to make picks in the draft. How many pro-bowlers are there on this crappy team? Everyone involved with the O-line should be fired effective immediately after this horrific performance!!!

Just watch Romo move against the pass rush of the Broncos, night and day to RT. With a solid line and a RB he could be not too bad but he has to learn to throw it away, it lost us the game today. The only time he threw it away was that bonehead spike !!! I thought he was going to do a Marino against the Jets, no he did the most stupid thing i have seen this season. Its open season on THill. In a way I feel bad for him, but then I feel worse for all the fans.

Keep throwing the passes behind the targets they will drop most of them, its the QB stupid, eh?

It's called sitting in a zone instead of running into a covered area. Had Wallace done this, he wouldn't have been under thrown on the shorter routes.

Boy Oh Boy! I can't wait til we play those sardines down there in Miami. Its gonna be just too damn easy and fun!

I have been a Dolphins fan since I was about 8 years old (wore Bob Griese jersey during my little league football practices) ... I am now 49 years old. That is 40 years of wasting my time watching this pretender organization try to be successful and win another Superbowl. I've stayed faithful through two heartbreaking Superbowl losses. I pay $$$$ for D-TV NFL Ticket every year just to be able to watch this sorry excuse for a football team. I can't remember the last game that I missed, but after this game I am finally done. I have finally been broken and I have no hope that this organization will ever get to another Superbowl ... let alone win one before I die. I will not waste another minute watching this team until (possibly) I hear they are in the playoffs. The O-Line and running back situation with this team is the biggest problem and Jeff Ireland (who I have been more than patient with) is not the GM to fix this team. The play calling needs to be adjustied to compensate for the team's weaknesses. The front office needs to understand that everything begins and ONLY begins with the O-Line and D-Line. It is so simple. Any average to decent running back can run through open holes and passes can be completed when given enough pass protection. D-TV NFL Ticket possibly cancelled. Next game to be watched by me will be next Dolphins playoff appearance. I have too many things on my plate to waste anymore Sundays watching this team. NOTE to Stephen Ross: Feel free to contact me for advisement on how to truly rebuild this team into a Superbowl Championship caliber team and winning organization. Miami Herald has my contact email. And with the 14th pick of the 2014 draft the Miami Dolphins select........................
ANOTHER 7-9 / 8-8 AT BEST season
Grimes worst day as a pro
Jones ABUSED, despite the good fortune pick-6
Clemons puts a uni on and never does a thing
Horrible interference call (1st one of drive for TD)
Tannedownhill has the pocket presence of drier lint
Martin & Clabo undoubtedly the worst pair of OT's in the league today, maybe EVER
The perplexing lovefest with Daniel Thomas continues
Great job by the TV crew of never mentioning Cameron Wake or why he wasn't playing once

Why is clabo still playing? He couldn't block my ten year old son. Tannehill is beast, but his line is a sieve.

Gotta love the "dryer lint" analogy. LMAO ... haven't heard that one before. Same can be said for Jeff Driskell (Florida Gators QB).

So did Tannehill make the decision to spike the ball or did the call come in from Sherman upstairs?

I was watching Dez Bryant at 6.2 225 lb receiver and how good he is...remember the Dolphins were in a position to get him and Jeff Ireland asked him if his mother was a prostitute...

Ireland is a winner in his draft selections

Wallace couldn't catch a cold....50% success rate when it hits him in a bad place...Hands or Chest

It doesn't matter how good your offensive line is when your 60,000,000 receiver has hands of stone and you are finding time to get it to him...If he makes catches on just two of his drops, dolphins win....
