Live blog: Season on the brink

The Dolphins' season is on the brink and it pretty much all hangs in the balance tonight. On national television. Against a good opponent.

Obviously, the Dolphins are an underdog because they're 3-4 and losers of four consecutive games while the Bengals are 6-2 and have won four in a row.

But there is no NFL bylaw that states the Dolphins must lose tonight. There is no understanding that the team in freefall must continue its dive to irrelevance.

The Dolphins can save their season tonight with a victory. They have to get good games out of quarterback Ryan Tannehill, their secondary and defensive line and, of course their offensive line -- particularly Tyson Clabo.

But all those things are possible.

Will it happen? We'll find out in a few hours.

And we can find out together on the live blog. Join me there.

[Update: The Dolphins inactive tonight are Mike Gillislee, Pat Devlin, Dallas Thomas, Will Davis, Danny Watkins, Jonathan Martin, and Dion Sims.]

[Update 2: A club source tells me the team is giving Jonathan Martin wide latitude in deciding when he wants to return to the team and that there has been no return date set. The source tells me the club is concerned about the relationship between Martin and some teammates.]

Unfortunately I've seen enough of what Sherman can do to know this game is a write off. But Go Fins anyway!

Anger solves nothing and only destroys.

Google "first row sports" and that will bring you to any game you'd like to watch.

Stop playing like whooses and attack this freakin Bengal team kiil them

I think Miami will unleash all the tricks they've been holding back in this game. Like the option that they attempted in NO but stopped because they didn't want to give away too much (when they realized it was out of hand)

Coaching staff and organization as a whole is under scrutiny. Expect them to go all out and then reevaluate a different gameplan for 2nd half of season with easier schedule

its the 2nd half adjustments that makes this game a pure scary treat to watch if Miami has the lead or trails by 3..thats where we have been tricked the last three weeks!!!

So, they are going with a full box from the start. Coaches?

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

This game doesnt even interest me.

Hell yes mr oscar

Fukk you! Fukkk everybody! I want to Win.

Anger is good lets all get angry

So doooooooo iiiiiiiiiiii Lets do it

Florida #1,

The time for calling miamis schedule easy is no longer valid nor does it have any meaning, right now im not positive if Miami can beat Tampy Bay right now and that looked like a lock three weeks ago....

It being Halloween and all, does anyone have a Bengal voodoo doll?

Sloppy low scoring game.

Dumb question I know but how does it affect Ireland's recent extension if Ross does want to fire him tomorrow saybif we get uber embarrassed tonight.

rg3,

They've asked Andy D i c k and Richard Simmons to design a new logo because this one isn't g@y enough for Ross. Even though most Dolphins fans would disagree.

Too old for lasers, man. Just play Football, please.

Can u say empty stadium?

Ectoplasm,

In most NFL contracts, even if terminated you still get the remainder of the contract. Same as a coach with years remaining on his deal.

Come on, show some passion, get pissed Dolphins if it doesn't go well, if it goes well, show some celebration... no more sideline robots!

You're talking about well directed anger, Marc, not random anger. Yes.

Our motto should be Miami Dolphins: It Could Happen

How gay is that a laser Halloween extravaganza ,,,,,,,thats
Why we can't put a winner on the field

One thing that is really worrisome tonight is RB's out of the backfield. Cincy has good back that can leak out like Sproles did this team.

Does this team deserve anything but 50,000 unattended seats tonight.....Families are taking their kids trick or treating rather than witness a possible blowout!!!!

What is the ratio of Fins fans to Tony the Tiger fans?

Organized chaos oscar

Just when you thought that things could not get any worse, Tyson Clabo is starting at RT against the team with the second highest sack total in the league. Yikes!

How many sacks will he give up tonight.

I know the Bengals are favorites because we've lost 4 straight and appear to be imploding but we are 3-4 and have played everyone but the Saints close.

But of course they have to make the pregame show into the Bengals pre game show.

I'm obviously not very objective because we haven't been on the other side of it in awhile but I can't the media anymore. We couldn't get fair and equal coverage if we were on Fox lol.

NOTHING DIFFERENT FROM THE MORIBUND FISHES BUT JUST ANOTHER SCARY GAME, LOL! BETTER PUT YOU EYES WHAT TRULY GIVES MEANING TO YOUR LIFE AND THAT'S GOD FOR SALVATION.

Not too old for Sex, yet.

Here goes nothing

4-4. Then we can talk playoffs.

Nice job by NFLN, Fins are 5-0 on Halloweenie! Build us up to ...

Tannehill has that same deer in headlights look we saw fom John Beck.

RED SOX.......BOSTON CHAMPS...........

DOLPHINS .................... ??????????????????

ha! the marketing ploy is obvious. turn out the lights so the tv doesn't see the empty stadium. there is lipstick meeting a pig in Miami Gardens tonight.

John Beck, wow there was a scared little kitten. I remember Parcells watching the replay of his last game against the Bills. The look said it all. Yeah Thill has that look.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

We are going win tonight

If we're gonna lose, I'd rather lose on Thurs (and not wait until Sunday).

Ha ha. They have just jinxed the Bengals, Go Maylock go !!!

NYFINFAN,

Those Dolphins are dead. The new g&y logo new era Dolphins are a USFL team. They look like one, they play like one.

Anyway, the last ten years of mediocre football have crapped all over the former Dolphins great records.

Dolphins were the winningist franchise, now they're third and dropping.

Phins had only two losing season in thirty five years.

This is five in a row for Ireland.

J Martin at home watching. Who d'ya think he's rooting for ??? Bet he has Black and Orange on.

Hey guys...It's been a while...Let's hope we can turn things around...

FRJP,

I know about the history of the Fins. I was grasping at anything for HOPE.

I feel like I should be wearing war paint on my face for some odd reason...

Jake Long gets the last laugh lol

Hopefully, Sherman sticks to the run game. I rarely criticize coordinators but Sherman has been awful this year.

Pick six Ryan Tannebust.

Drink of the night: Dolphins guts - blackberries, lemon simple syrup and Bushmill's (Black Bush) Irish Whiskey.

throw the ball!!!

How many fumbles for Tannereach tongiht ?

2nd play Sack!
FIRELAND.

Wow, Sherman does it again. Abandons the run after running it effectively on the first two plays. Pathetic!

Sherman should not allow Tanny to pass and we'd have a chance.

Just on queue, Atkins sack.

Man they abandon the run again.

How many sacks today ? Any bets ?

« 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ... 27 28 »
