Ravens beat Dolphins 26-23, bye next

Well, it got exciting at the end. The Dolphins had a chance to tie it, but Caleb Sturgis missed a desperation 57-yard field goal attempt to tie with only a few clicks left on the clock.

Dolphins lose to the Ravens, 26-23, and go into the bye with a still respectable 3-2 record.

Tough loss.

The defense made it close. Reshad Jones had an interception return touchdown to tie the game at 23. But the defense also gave up a field goal drive. The winning field goal drive.

The offense?

Terrible.

Only scored one touchdown. Rushed for 22 yards on 11 carries. Ryan Tannehill was sacked six times, including three by Terrell Suggs.

The o line is the main issue plain and simple, a Tannehill has played lights out when he has had good protection. How was that last sack on him, he had no time to get rid of the ball, none!!! Think about it, he has no idea where the next sack is coming from, left side, right side, up the middle the o line is a joke pure and simple. Something has to be done during the bye week, trade for a tackle, use picks or players, Starks has value just do something!!!!

THILL won't make it to the playoffs because he will be in the hospital with this pathetic OLINE giving up so many sacks.

Those putting the blame of this loss on THILL are not watching the game. This kid is the best thing on the team other than our DT's.

You guys are kidding yourselves if you don't think THill let him self be sacked a couple of times.. He has no pocket presence at all ? No escape ability from the pocket whatsoever! He used to be a WR and be won't move around the pocket to buy himself time. He musts stands there like a Robot!

Zaphod, Marv Albert brought it up in the booth during the first quarter. Gannon chalked it up to Philbin being ``intense". Pathetic.

STEVE SMITH CB HAS CHIEFS AT 5-0

Brees and Flacco went straight at Grimes, no fear or respect at all.

The Phins did not show up today ... they sucked last week ... and this week has exposed them for the frauds they are. This is not a good team ... a very lucky team early in the season ... but NOT a good team! We may not win another meaningful game the rest of the season ... see, other GOOD teams have that drive to win. This team just has a drive on the golf course.

Truth, Wallace has a history of dropping passes. As a guy who played the position, if the ball hits the WRs hands it is his job to catch the ball, even poorly thrown passes. It is why he gets paid millions. Fitzgerald does it and he plays with a mediocre QB, Calvin Johnson makes Safford look good.

I know it sounds like I'm picking on Tanny. But with our O-Line and running game the QB of this team has to be a stud. Tanny is going to keep us in some games but unfortunately I think that's his ceiling. We reached for him in the draft, took a shot. We'll see.

Austin, QB was responsible for 2 sacks today. I agree he's a statue, but blame Sherman more for that. You paid a guy 26 mil, he shouldn't have ANY drops. As of now, Wallace is the worst move Ireland made this year.

His name is Sean Smith and he is a total BUM!

This whole mess got started in the offseason. Piss poor evaluation of the 2012 team led to poor choices in draft and FA. I don't let Ireland off the hook by a long shot. But it's up to the HC to tell the GM what he needs. The GM hopefully gets what the HC wants. Not that cut & dried as they both have input but that's the general flow.

The O-line and running game is a unmitigated, absolute, out n' out failure. And why? Piss poor evaluation by Philbin and his staff. Both RBs have to have a hole...neither Thomas or Miller are NOT power RBs. O-line can't make holes so, no running game. It's that simple.

And that's just one problem. I tried to tell you guys about Sherman a while back but got poo-pooed. Now you see. But here's the hell of it: Philbin will never fire him due to their past. Too bad, I had high hopes a year ago.

austin ... the only "intense" thing about this team is how "intensely" I'm beginning to hate this team!!!!!

ONE PERSON IN AMERICA EXPOSED THE FRAUD 6 MONTHS AGO

Now you guys are finally catching on.

While I was on the Ireland bandwagon on his offseason additions, he has got to stop choosing players based on how much they cost.

I know you have to keep your financial house in order but some players are just better and you have to have them.

Long, Bush and even Sean Smith would have probably sealed the victory today.

Miller, Martin, Patterson, and Clabo haven't given us much thus far.

He's already setting us up to drop Starke's by starting Odrick ahead of him. Addition by subtraction just doesn't work.

DC - I think you are one of the best fans on this board. But come on. Wallace didn't lose this game today. He made a big catch..it was all him there. He did drop a few. But he also burned CB's twice and THILL couldn't hit him long. Wallace did not cause this loss.

This loss was on Clabo, Martin, Grimes and Jones. Those four had so many negative plays it isn't even close.

You and I both support THILL because we see his full potential and he has improved a lot over last year. This kid is the real deal. Behind a good (not even great OLINE) he would be 4-1.

Spike was ridiculous. With a minute?! DUMB.

Last sack on Tannehill. Again. He still has poor pocket awareness and goes down too easy. There is NO chance Matt Moore takes this many sacks.

Also, let's keep things in perspective, NO ONE was predicting 3-2 by the bye week. And if they were they were thrilled by it. So all is not lost. We have 2 division games coming up and a favorable schedule. We can still do things this year.

I absolutely agree the OL sucks but THill is a staue back there. Dan Marino didn't stand stationary in the pocke like TFail does. The is a 7 and 9 team maybe 8 and 8 guys were wasting our times.

IDEA!!!!!! How about we get the cheerleaders in the game to block. Those ladies will stop any D-lineman.

I mean, for God's sake, they should have signed Willis McGahee. He can get 1 yard on 2nd and 1 in the first quarter. Miller runs like he is scared of contact. And Wallace? Did anyone see him flinch to avoid contact on the screen in the first quarter and end up getting 9 yards on 3rd and 10?

Was just shootin the breeze here with my buds and someone asks if the draft was tomorrow what position would the fins draft? Wow, think about that. We are so far from a complete team it's scary.

Last sack was not on THILL. The OT was killed. No time at all. Watch it again. Tape doesn't lie.

The last series should have been spike, run, run, field goal from 38-40 yards. Bad play calling by Sherman. Really bad.

Torrey Smith owned Brent Grimes all day.

Real simple. Even after spending a fortune in free agent money this team is still not as good as a Ravens team that lost 2 hall of fame leaders along with half their offense this year. Today was a complete joke which sums up their pathetic offensive line. New England is still the team to beat after this horrible loss. I would start worrying about Buffalo even if thay half a backup quarterback considering thay BEAT Baltimore. 8-8 at BEST for this sorry team.

O-LINE!!!!

WE STINK AGAIN!!

Whats up with Sturgis....he couldn't hit that 57 yard field goal....lets get rid of him...just kidding. I'll take 3-2 at this point. We beat Buffalo and New England and we are on top in the division.

DC - I agree (I said it during the game). Any realistic fan would have been thrilled to hear they would be 3-2 at bye week before this season started. I agree the schedule is soft and they should (need) win several ahead. With the Pats loss this season is not lost by any means.

jpao, no Wallace didn't lose the game, it was a team loss. But Wallace has had far too many drops to earn his money. Those two on the final drive were inexcusable (and he would agree). He's supposed to be the superstar, and that means showing up when it counts. He made some catches out there, but not when it counted. He's been a disappointment for sure (not sure how anyone could say otherwise).

Poor guy, poor guy...

I wish I could get over the anger and just let the indifference set in. Usually it's by week 3, but the Dolphins are stretching the interest out this year.

Anyone watching Dallas? Romo is balling today

This is what being a fan is all about ... we're at the bar at 3:00 am picking up the "hot" chick ... and everyone else is laughing at us ... we can't figure out why everyone doesn't talk about out "hot" chick ... and then we wake up the next morning and realize EVERYONE ELSE KNEW we had a butt ugly heifer the whole time! I will no longer complain about the pundits and league not giving us any respect ... they KNOW we suck, too!!!!!

Jpao..run..we had no times out left...game over

O-Line lost this game. It all starts and ends there. No run blocking + no pass protection = loss.

Clabo needs to be benched. Martin? Awful... Move him back to RT. Heck, Jerry did better at LT in a fill in role than Martin can full time. Not getting Branden Albert was a huge mistake. Letting Bush go... Bad mistake. Trading Marshall for two thirds (Egnew and, I think, Dallas Thomas)... Mistake. Not being able to put a decent offensive line together in six years? Worthless.

Sherman = Henning

Tannehill = Henne plus a sparkler and a Pom Pom.

Tannehill cant hit the broadside of a barn.

the only "intense" thing about this team is how "intensely" I'm beginning to hate this team!!!!!

Then go worship the Jets assshole!

The offensive line is just terrible and the cause of many of the team's other problems, including an anemic running game and a quarterback that is getting sacked and rushed way too much. The season is still young but the Dolphins are not shaping up to be a promising playoff-caliber team.

Tannehill is WORSE than Henne.

I wish Ireland would fire himself. Too bad Andy Ried was looking for a job a year too late for us.

DC - I agree Wallace has too many drops. He ran bad routes on a few of those drops. The balls were behind him at least twice. Hit his hands so I agree he should catch them. But they were not good passes as his route was not in sync with THILL's throws.

I don't see him as a complete disappointment at this point. He is in a new system. He has two 100 yard plus games in 5 played. The other games were as much on Sherman's lack of plays to Wallace as anything else. It's hard for Wallace to make plays when the ball isn't thrown his way. Sherman had two games where he made it a priority to get him the ball and he came up with +100 yards both times. I am not giving up on Wallace. This team needs him on the field.

This is the OLINE plain and simple. They protect THILL better and they open holes and this team would be 4-1.

Mando, Anyone Injured on the O-Line??????
(Guys we can only hope)

Next 3 games. Buffalo, New England and Cincinnati. :-(

Zonk is a pile of dog shitt.

I get envious when I see great play calling.

HOW TO SAVE THE PHIS... TRADE MATT MOORE TO TAMPA FOR DONALD PENN. BECUASE IF TANNEHILL GOES DOWN. MATT MOORE WILL NOT DO MUCH WITH THAT LINE. SO DONALD PENN WILL BE AN UPGRADE AT LT AND MOVE MARTING TO RT AND FORGET ABOT CLABO. HE IS DONE. 2ND TRADE RANDY STARKS FOR... A. BEN TATE. B. FOR MCFADDEN. BECAUSE NEXT YEAR CAP WE WILL LOSE EITHER STARKS OR SOLIA. SO EITHER TATE OR MCFADDEN WILL BE AN UPGRADE TO MILLER AND THE REST RB THAT WE HAVE. SO HAVING A LINE: PENN - INGOCNITO - POUNCEY - JONES - MARTIN IS BETTER THAT MORE THAN 5 SACKS A GAME. AND AT RUNNING BACK ITS ANOTHER UPGRADE. PLEASE CHECK ON THIS TRADE AND GIVE US THE HOPE WE HAD IN WEEK 3. WERE ALMOST THERE

We have no back that wear a defense down. Daniel Thomas should be starting at Wendy's.

Yet another clueless coaching staff, that lines up Wallace on the same side on every play, won't let RT roll out (like last year), on and on.

Do not see a winning season here. Could get uglier.

Guys im not trying to say tannehill doesnt need better pocket awareness, he does, but the last three sacks you can see the oline being pushed back into him. its hard to have pocket awareness when there isnt a pocket to speak of. The top qb's in this league wouldn't fair any better. bottom line is Ireland refused to give up a second rd pick to get a pro bowl LT in Albert. Martin is solid RT, but isnt strong enough to protect the blind side.

So many people calling out Thill, but has anyone noticed compared to last year where they called rollouts more often there have been almost none this year. Last yr Thill took off more often this year he sits there. Anybody think maybe the HC and OC have something to do with this besides the fact Martin and Clabo are the worst pair of tackles in the league

If you're wondering if getting the right coach makes a big difference but look at what KC is doing.

The 2nd year QB that folks are ragging on, and the defense, are the only reason this was even close. NO running game is why they only the ball for 23 minutes and had to throw it 40 times. The drops also didn't help. Look around the league and see how the great quarterbacks always get some help with great catches. Wallace simply has to make more plays when he has the chance. Good quarterbacks do learn to throw it away when the pocket starts to break down, but it's tough when the pocket barely forms and you're already getting crushed. This line is simply over-matched, and that's on the GM. Still, so close to being tied at the top with the Pats after a really tough 5 game schedule. Hope the o-line makes the most of the bye week.

What a friggen mess...OL is pitiful and that is that. THill needs to sit and I think it is time to bring out Moore. Let Moore take the lumps the rest of the season, at this point I trust him more than THill.

DC....

Its like Philbin told you (us)....its NOT SUSTATAINABLE....and it isn't....I respect the HC for having the bizzalls to state that to the media....and his team....

Those wins are starting to look like a mirage.....

we won...while losing the turnover battle...

we won...while losing the sack battle....

we won...while losing the time of possesion battle....

we won...while losing the rushing battle....

Philbin understands this....

We are NOT a very good football team right now....gotta right this ship....

Oh well...we have two weeks to get ready for the Bills. Win that one and we're 4-2 and in the hunt.

At least at this point we won't be fooling ourselves that we are better than we are. Still have some improving to do.

We are what our record says we are. Is it better to be 9-7 or 10-6 and get annihilated in the opening round of the playoffs? or are we better off being 5-11, have a top 10 pick and fill the holes on this team?
There is absolutely no way this team, with 24 sacks and -10 in turnover ratio all after only 5 games can win a playoff game.
We need 2 stud OL, a real #1 WR, a real RB, A real TE, a real #1 CB and a real Safety. This means we need a good free agent period and a very good draft.

The Fins have "ZERO" rushing game, and that will cost them dearly as the season moves on. I blame this on the O-line, and the predictable play calls in the run game. The O-line stinks real bad and with Tannehill not having any pocket awareness, you end up with, how many sacks was it... a lot...

Bring back Dave Wanstad

Can't blame THill when the opposing defense gets to him at about the same time the ball does. Pocket awareness...there has to be a pocket first! Worst O-line in NFL!

Dashi...

DASHI...DASHI...DASHI....

You need to come on here and explain your boy MILLER....you know...mr. 1,500 yard Miller....

i really bought what you were selling....hook..line...and sinker....

i even waited this long to ask you about it....cause I kept thinkng the run game would get better....well...it hasn't....

whats up with your boy MILLER?????

Bubble burst!! Ireland and Ross declared we have a damn good team 2 weeks ago... This team is far from a contender! We lead the league in sacks, can't cover and can't run block just to name a few. We were lucky to catch the colts and falcons early. We are done!
