Ryan Tannehill limited in practice with shoulder injury

The Dolphins know that Ryan Tannehill likely cannot survive an entire season of hits at the rate they've been coming. Tannehill, sacked 26 times so far, is the NFL's most sacked quarterback so far this season.

And If the Dolphins didn't know this is not sustainable, evidence arrived today when practice began and the quarterback had to be limited in his participation due to a shoulder injury.

Tannehill (shoulder) was one of four Miami players to be limited due to injuries today. The injury is to the throwing, or right shoulder.

Dannell Ellerbe (shoulder), Brandon Gibson (shoulder) and left tackle Bryant McKinnie (knee) were also limited.

So basically, the quarterback and the new left tackle that needs all the practice snaps he can get to learn the new offense were limited today. Great.

This is the second time since the season began Tannehill has been on the injury report with a throwing shoulder issue.

Surprise!

No Evidence

I don't care how tough Sherman thinks tanny is when he gets hit squarely like he did Sunday as well as the keeper on the goal line he will not make it this season. I would like to see him improvise more like he did on the first td to Gipson. Give him credit he trusted clabo but for now on he should use his feet more then look for Wallace deep

BRIEN GRIESE SEPARATED HIS THROWING SHOULDER ON MNF VS RAIDERS IN THE 1ST QTR

He not only played the whole game, he threw for more than 300 yds and Den won the game. Afterwards Shanahan made Griese the highest paid player in NFL.

MANHOOD

This will make Kris happy.

The reported injuries are always a mystery to me. What do they really mean? Players can spend an entire year on the injury report and never miss a snap. Others, such as Patterson, can miss weeks. Brandon Gibson was on last week's injury report, and then was doing helicopter flips in the end zone for a touchdown against the Bills.

As for McKinnie, I am hoping that despite his character issues, he is an NFL veteran who should not need endless repetitions to learn a blocking scheme. All the talk about shifting players around on the line doesn't really matter either. The only thing that matters is removing Clabo from the line. The Dolphins should be able to adjust adequately after that.

The wheels are beginning to fall from the wagon. May as well tank the season, fire Ireland, and let the new gm draft areal qb.

When this team was 3-0 and everyone was on cloud 9. I posted to be cautious of the ugly wins. Even at 3-0, I saw a very flawed team that could just as easily lose 3 in row.

The line was terrible, Tannehill's pocket presence was terrible, underthrowing receivers, throwing behind receivers on slants, and virtually non-existent run game. The defense was having 3rd and long issues even then. Still we managed to win.

Winning in the above mentioned faction is pure fool's gold. Just a matter of time before the lucky well runs dry. We're 3-3, yet have yet to play well in any of our 6 games. Nearly all over the place there can be placed blame:

Ross, Ireland, the coaching staff, and players on both sides of the ball. Our best game this season we may have played 30 minutes of good football.

SHOULDER INJURIES WHETHER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT

Cause the injured player to fumble

Maybe. I saw a hit in the Ravens or Indy Game where he was shaking his R arm. But in this past Game he was limping noticeably.

BRYANT MCKINNIE LIMITED IN PRACTICE

Did I not predict in here yesterday that McKinnie will spend the rest of this season in the training room?

Ha ha ha ha ha

When Tannehill does well, Kris begrudgingly sorta admits it. When Tannehill does bad, Kris is like a kid in candy store whining and moping to his hearts content how we shouldn't have picked him.

This from the guy that said for years 'take a chance'. He quickly changed his tune to 'only pick a sure thing'.

Yeah.

Right.

Uh huh.

Ok.

QUICK LET'S SHIFT THE FOCUS TO HENNE

McKinnie knee? So, not only did Ireland trade for an old fat slow has been olineman, he traded for one with a bum knee.

What is it with Ireland and his infatuation for bringing in already injured players?

NOW WE KNOW WHY IRELAND TRADED FOR MCKINNIE

Ireland had to get the trade done before the injury report came out.

What would you have done to solve the Tackles problem we have now, Sam? Write about possible solutions and no more complaints, otherwise, better to not write at all.

I would like to think that Ireland shopped around before pulling the trigger on McKinnie. I do find it interesting, though, that McKinnie graded one spot higher on PFF rankings than Clabo for tackles. Oh well, I am happy to improve no matter how slightly.

Oscar, Ireland blew it this offseason by backing out of the Branden Albert trade. Just like Ireland, always finding way to screw up a wet dream.

TANNEHILL GOT INJURED BECAUSE HES A MORON WHO CANT CHANGE HIS SNAP COUNTS!!!

GO = PASS
GO GO = RUN

NOTHING ELSE IS SAID.... READYYYYYYYYYY GO GO

IDIOT QB. IDIOT GM. IDIOT COACH.

PATHETIC ORGANIZATION.

Everybody knew that McKinnie is having that knee drained periodically this Season, ETF.

Make no mistake, he is watching.

At some point the dolphins need to ask themselves if they need to shut down Tannehill. He may suffer a serous injury behind this offensive line and this could send the dolphins back to the square 1. You have a solid veteran QB in Matt Moore that can take the baton for the rest of the season. This season is over anyways and why risk your young franchise QB.

I knew that it was only a matter of time before Tannehill got hurt. The Dolphins should have focused more on the offense this year than the defense. Instead of drafting a DE, and CBs the dolphins should have built the offensive line. They could have worked on tweaking the defense next year.

Oscar my solutions mean jack squat. As long as Ireland is gm there will never be any real solutions. The Dolphins will continue to suck and Dolfans will mock draft in December.

LET'S REVIEW ALL SIDES OF THE TRADE

Jax got a 4th rounder for Monroe, a player they did not intend to resign because they drafted Koeckel with 2nd overall

Bal basically traded McKinne for Monroe, they shed salary and got 8 years younger at the position, they got back the pick they gave to Jax from Mia.

Mia gave a draft pick for a washed up player that will not see the field AND took on Mckinnie's salary.

ONCE AGAIN: FOOLS GET SWINDLED

We solve nothing now by blaming Ireland for something that did not happen. Don't you see?

RT will not make it through the season thanks to the inept front office of this miserable team they have fielded.

oscar canosa, I understand the frustration of the masses, and also sympathize with the frustration of those who have to read all of the posts by the masses. Generally, I am one of those fans who remains hopeful and optimistic throughout the season, only to suffer heartbreaks from week to week. Every off-season there is a new reason for optimism. Unfortunately, over the past 12-years, that optimism never manifested into anything substantial. Even the anomalous 2008 playoff appearance was short-lived, exposing how we never really matched up well against good teams.

This has been going on long enough. I share the frustration of the masses, though I do agree that it can be very difficult to read.

The McKinney trade was a statement trade. Ireland knows McKinnie is not a Philbin guy. Philbin is high on morality and no nonsense players. Mckinnie is the direct opposite of what Philbin demands from his players. This may be a message to Philbin to get his coaching staff to stop losing games that we are supposed to win.....this is just a theory.

The level of immaturity of posters in this Blog is sobering. They get angry at the fact that Tannehill got hurt.?? Then they start blaming Ireland, Philbin and all others.???? Staggering psychological ignorance.

oscar,
Here's an idea:

Notify all 31 other teams that you are auctioning off your 3rd round pick for the best T you can get and see what gets offered.

WE DON'T HAVE TO GET A NEW LT, A GOOD RT CAN JUST AS EASILY REPLACE CLABO

"The Dolphins know that Ryan Tannehill likely cannot survive an entire season of hits at the rate they've been coming".

=======================================================
If they know it why did they wait 8 weeks to do something about it.

And if they truly wanted to do something about it, why trade for an over weight, out of shape, past his prime has been????

How his it that we keep getting coaching staffs with many many years of NFL experience but they forget every thing they know when they get to Miami?

This stuff has to be scripted. It has to be.

Of course Ireland has been working the phones for weeks. Some of your ideas here assume our GM lives in a cave and knows nothing.

Remember, billionaires have paid him handsome salaries, and not you.

I LOVE IT

HATE ON JEFF THE IDIOT IRELAND

THE LOSER

TWO FULL DRAFTS - NOT ONE IMPACT PLAYER

Run Ryan Run!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill, Ireland may be sabotaging Philbin the way he sabotaged Sparano. Ireland see his offseason personnel moves not quite working out, so he's setting Philbin up to take the end of year fall.

Bill, not a bad theory at all, in part. I couldn't say that the trade was completed entirely to make a statement, though it is interesting. I will say that by Ireland trading for a non-Philbin player, the success or failure of this trade falls solely on Ireland.

Well, that's an idea, ETF. Good.

But, his 'best throw' was the hail mary according to Philbin.

Tannehill is fairly accurate and has a strong arm but holds ball too long, stares down receivers (= 3INTs), throws into double coverage (=2INTs),misses wide open receivers forcing to Wallace and telegraphs play with snap count. He's mediocre. Replacing with Moore is a wash.

No Treach = win @NE.eh?

Paul

Be careful with a comment like that because we have proof that Ireland may know nothing....
trades draft picks for D Thomas.
Drafts Egnew 3rd round cannot get on the field on a team that needs a TE
Trades away Marshall, Davis, Smith
Cuts Dansby and he is a star again
Gives a 1 dimensional WR $60million and he was rated 77 of 107 WR's
Lets Long and Bush walk yet has no players to replace them.
Trades up to #3 in draft to take an injured DL when we need OL help
Drafts a injured DB in 2nd rd that cannot get on field.
Do you need more???

Listen, Water Dog, there are mature ways to vent frustration which might accomplish something regarding its source and there are immature ways of doing it which accomplish nothing, as most People disregard them immediately.

Host on NFL network said he believes the Dolphins will be a surprise team this year....even though we just lost 3 in row. He said we won 3 in row before this stretch. The other 2 hosts picked Chargers and Baltimore.

Tfumble accurate??? You are 1 fu.d up fan.as fu, kd as the Gm and puppet coaching staffLMAOAt you Moron fins fans. Such imbeciles .where do you idiots come from Eh?

Ape Tamer do you know where you can shove that banana?? Whats wrong your jet fan buddies wont talk with you on a jet blog?

I guess its hard being a Jets fan...you have never known what success taste like.....you don't knw what it feels like to dominate for decades like the Mighty Dolphin teams of the 70's and 80's!! 1 lucky SB and yer all mouth!

Good to see Mr. Soldy read my post from the Last blog. I am here to teach and sometimes learn.

Ready

Since the NFL merger in 1970 the Dolphins are #2 in winning pct. 590.

Why does it seem that Ape Tamerl is YG?

Readyyyyyyy GO GO!!!

Run!

Got it

Ah hell we're going to pull a big win out of our hats this weekend.

This team is just as capable of beating anybody(see the 1st 3 weeks)as they are of losing to anybody(see the last 3 weeks).

If we do lose this week though, things do begin to look pretty bleak for our season. I say we turn Wake and Jordan loose on Mr.Brady and see what happens.

Ape Tamer #1........

This shoulder injury happened a couple games ago. To try and blame the last game for it seems asinine to me. T-Hill's shoulder looked fine when he threw the ball 60+ yards on the last play of the game.

But I know PROPAGANDA!!

P.Manning isn't practicing either. Who do we blame?

On more important news the Refs admit they blew the call at the end of the Ravens game.

I'm not saying but I am saying, Why is it that the Refs always find a way to screw the Fins. The Refs are usually good for 8-10 No calls a game against the Fins.

How can you Pathetic fins fans stand bye and let this Moron Ross force feed you Moron Ireland s f, ing blue print of a raw sewage plan to another 5 -11 season Eh.
you are numb from all of the LOSING Eh.LMAO. e h?
s

Hey, Daytona, wassup?

Yes, he is still watching,

The internet is not new. Just like TV's are not new. But so few of you realize how either of them work.

Schools don't teach us very practical information.

Armando has had a blog for years and has absolutely no idea how it works, just like most of you.

It only takes a minimal amount of knowledge these days to play Big Brother.

Start Moore and the phins win @ NE eh?
but worse draft pick Eh?

Some kind of curve ball by Wainwright.
