Rivera: Charles Johnson likely out

New England Patriots right tackle Marcus Cannon leg whipped Carolina defensive end Charles Johnson on Monday night in what was clearly an intential and dirty move. And by doing so, he may have helped the rival Miami Dolphins.

Johnson left the game for a time against the Patriots, but more importantly probably will not play against the Dolphins on Sunday.

Today, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Johnson is "more than likely out" against the Dolphins.

That's a blow to the Panthers because Johnson is their leading pass rusher and has 8.5 sacks this season. And there's more:

Thursday's injury report from Carolina shows the team's other defensive end, Greg Hardy, did not practice because of a knee injury. While this one is considered precautionary, he is obviously nursing an issue.

Hardy has six sacks on the season.

All told, the Panthers had five players -- including Johnson and Hardy -- miss practice today. Also missing where linebacker Chase Blackburn, guard Chris Scott, and tight end Ben Hartstock. Cornerback Drayton Florence also was limited in practice for the Panthers today with a groin injury.

The Dolphins did not practice on Thursday.

Wow, Johnson and hardy are the strength of this line. Now if we can get Keuchly hammered at South beach on Saturday night, we will be set ....

Hey Armando.... and you think it is just the Dolphins locker room that is like this right???

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/adrian-peterson-says-crazier-things-n-word-said-185732976--nfl.html

It's not... the greatest RB of all time even says his locker room is a mess. Gee how is that??

Showing how much more of a joke your blog is... It's the NFL culture!!!!!!!! Got it yet???

The Patriots are a dirty sneaky team. That is obvious. They also get the refs on their side. That is also obvious. Some big money changes hands when the Pats play. I feel sorry that they hurt these guys by playing dirty. But that could also be good for us for a change.

Who cares about the garbage Dolphins anymore?

Posted by: Marco | November 21, 2013 at 04:23 PM

Marco I believe Philbin is using the "GB-way". GB never starts rookies unless a ton better than "expeinced player" ahead of them.

Jordan's most likely a starter next year. The others will see their playing time increased. It's the GB-way.

Scott I read that story as well, and there are so many other stories similar and even worse. The te from the Saints who almost lost an eye because he was beat with a towel rolled up with quarters inside of it, Ditka told him he should have fought everyone.

I was screaming this the whole time, very few cared or listened. It was just a "Miami Dolphin problem". I talked to a few people about it. I relayed my experiences inside locker rooms , same stuff going on since I was in highschool in every sport I ever played.

So forgive me for a second while I LAUGH MY A#@ OFF at the ignorant people who never spent a moment in a locker room judging what was happening with the Dolphins. It's so ridiculous and now everyone is quiet. Where are all of these posters that were so offended by Incognito now?

I haven't heard a peep from them about ALL of the other stories including Petersens. Petersen laughed at the Incognito news, "I've heard so much worse". Ditka pounded the espn desk and said Incognito should be kicked out of the league. Yep, the same guy who when finding out his player almost lost an eye to hazing told him, "you should have fought them".

Richie Incognito says it is his goal to resume his career with the Dolphins after the investigation.

Incognito also released a statement thru NFLPA saying in part, "I love my teammates and hope we can put this distraction behind us soon.”

I posted these 2 Armando tweets because with the solid play of Sam Brenner Sunday, that was the finalnail in Cog's coffin even if by huge miracle the Dolphins in passing thought dared to remotely consider bringing back Cogs.

Cogs, if you were watching Brenner Sunday, you saw your "snowball in hell's" chance of becoming a Dolphin again quickly melt away.

And now the Dolphins and Incognito agreed together to postpone his grievance hearing. I'm not positive but it seems like the Dolphins have got some news from Wells and are working toward maybe reinstating Incognito when this is all over.

So after all is said and done, if Richie comes back because what Martin was complaining about was just normal locker room antics, where will everyone stand? What is everyone going to say then? This whole thing has been a joke from the start.

It's beginning to more and more seem Jordan's final home on this defense will be at olb.

But, with Jenkins also becoming a great coverage olb. With both he and Jordan in the game, in passing situations, Jenkins can cover the TE while Jordan blitzes off the edge.

Then we have Wake, Vernon, and Jordan coming after the passer.

Sure has P78. Dolphins should eb allowed to fine Martin for condusct detrimental to the team...

Actually Sam the team will be forced to bring him back by the NFLPA. If Wells concludes his investigation and finds that Martin wasn't treated any differently than any of the thousands of players who have played football going back decades then what can the Dolphins do? They can't cut him, it will look horrible. It will look like the team rushed to judgement because of fan and media pressure and was wrong but is now punishing the guy they were wrong about.

1. They can come to an agreement with a settlement for Richie if he accepts it and won't sue the team. This could be a way for them to let him go but not look bad in the eyes of other players around the league.

2. Or they can bring him back and avoid all of that.

3. Wells finds some evidence that no one has heard about (events that Martin didn't release to the media)

If it's anything but number three I highly doubt Martin ever plays football again. If it's anything but number three and I'm the Dolphins I would seriously think about filing false accusation charges against the guy who single handedly derailed our oline.

look if Cog comes back and Brenner is playing well then Jerry is out

Really don't see the mechanics of reinstating Cogs. There's a 99.999......... percent chance we won't even consider resigning him in the offseason, as he becomes an ufa.

I believe not reinstating him has now become a "Steven Ross" decision. Meaning Cogs has reached a point of "NO RETURN".

I agree Mark and can't wait to see how this plays out.

Another story came out, "Richie made fun of an employee's race".

LMFAO! We get it, he's a dick, that's life. There are always inconsiderate people, they are everywhere, get over it because it's never going to change. This politically correct liberal utopia some are trying to build in this country will never happen. I've given up trying to figure out why people are the way they are because it gets you nowhere and you will never change them.

How many people who were made fun of by Richie are we supposed to care about, I've got my own f$#@ing problems.

This maybe the most acceptable option. Then see if Harbaugh or Indy will give ANYTHING in TRADE for Jonathan Martin.

I believe bringing Cogs or Martin back at this point would be counter-productive. Cogs, because at the very least shows POOR LEADERSHIP. Martin, because at least 85% of his team mates don't want him back.

Sam definitely. There's no way he comes back next season, that writing was on the wall when they didn't extend him last offseason.

I'm just not sure if they can legally keep him suspended from the team.

And the trade deadline is over. Releasing him and allowing the Jets or Patriots to pick him up right before we play three games against them would be the dumbest move in the history of sports.

You release him he's going to be mad and he's going to want revenge. Rex loves players like Richie and will grab him up in a heartbeat. Rex and Richie will work well into the night breaking down EVERY SINGLE Dolphins play on offense and defense. I would hope the Dolphins have this in mind but well,,,, you know.

Phins will probably win, the Pats will probably lose & I'll get sucked in again...

They will bring Incog back only to let him go in offseason. Where the draft will become OL central for the fins.

Sam the trade deadline is over. The Phins can't trade any player on their roster until the season opens again in March. They can only release players at this point.

If they hold on to Martin and tell people he's on the trading block for March no one will do it imo. They would already no we have no intentions of bringing him back and will just wait for his release.

So nope, thanks to Martins cry baby antics we will get absolutely nothing for two quality starters.

lol, so true Turd.

(ps, what is this name from I can't remember, Anchorman?)

Or was it a Saturday Night Live skit?

Wait! Hahahaha it was, was it Norm McDonald or the guy who pretended to be Sean Connery?

Everyone going home and I just got back to the office! Darn it, I'll check back later.

Armando,

Any new news on the scandal? How's the interviews going? Any chance J Martin returns this season?

Incognito's days in the NFL are over and done. Stick a fork in him. He's a cancer and no team will go near him with such big liability. He will have cost Ross and the Dolphins 25 mill + before its done.

Read your anaylsis Phin and I'd like to agree. But I'm afraid this witch hunt will require a whipping boy. The PC police will demand one and I don't know if Dolphins mgmt will be good enough for them.

cogs career def not over

Forget Cogs. Forget Martin. My greatest fear is that somehow Jeff Ireland survives all of this. Especially if we win 4 or more of our last 6gms.

Personnel decisions aside, Ireland is almost always tied to something being a national embarrassment pinned to our franchise's chest.

Agreed. The investigation may reveal that every locker room possesses the same culture; the difference is the official complainant. Now that a particular aspect of the locker room culture has been highlighted as potentially "hostile," changes are coming. I believe the Dolphins will have a lot of support to not accept Incognito back to the team. Then, it just comes down to Martin.

A question for the blog if you would like to write your opinion. Why do you think Incognito mutually agreed with the Dolphins to postpone his grievance hearing knowing that he is losing a lot of money every week?

No sheot. Just like EVERY Thursday. Will some FIRE this clown already.

FIRE ARMANDO SALGUERO

My hope is Ireland retains his job for another year and Armando Salguero loses his. I want to see what Ireland/Philbin do in their 3rd year. And I want to see how this years rookies contribute next year with Ireland around. Ireland has assembled a solid group of players. I want to see if they can become a team.

Remaining Schedule And Importance

12 Nov 24 1:00PMEST ) Panthers

13 Dec 1 1:00PMEST * AT Jets

14 Dec 8 1:00PMEST * AT Steelers

15 Dec 15 1:00PMEST * Patriots

16 Dec 22 1:00PMEST * AT Bills

17 Dec 29 1:00PMEST * Jets

As for REAL playoff aspiration I believe Sunday's Panthers game maybe most important of all. Beat the Panthers and REALISTICALLY we have a chance to finish at least 10-6, wildcard playoffs.

Beat Bills, Steelers, Pats, sweep Jets. It's 11-5 and guaranteed playoffs city. Downside to it all most probably means Ireland stays.

Also, if by MIRACLE we win all f our remaining games, we enter the playoffs on a 7gm win streak and 8 of our last 9gms.

Many times it's the team that gets HOT at exact right time that wins the Super Bowl. Asks the NY Giants and Tom Brady. I'm sure both would agree.

Ireland maybe out regardless.

That way Ross can save face.

Posted by: Sam I Am | November 21, 2013 at 06:07 PM

What are you smoking??? Please explain how we beat the Pats at their home. the Bills at their home and the Jets at their home???????? You truly are a GENIUS..did your momma tell you that?

Sam,

I wished I shared your confidence.

Did I miss the Thill, Andrew Luck trade or something ? Has Philbin been sacked and Shula is back ???

Posted by: Sam I Am | November 21, 2013 at 06:07 PM

I deeply apologize if I FAILED to make this part of my post more CLEAR. Did not the ALL CAPS help any?

Marco the retard....Thill is not the problem. MIT exposed you as a factless buffon on the last blog. You still spouting your false stats and lies? Bending the stats t fit your argument. Why do you even come on here? You really gotta get Mark in Toronto's bawls outta yer mouth!

I deeply apologize if I FAILED to make this part of my post more CLEAR. Did not the ALL CAPS help any?

Posted by: Sam I Am | November 21, 2013 at 06:30 PM

Yes I did see the MIRACLE part....unfortunately this is the NFL not the HOLY LAND....you need to explain how we win the road games against Bills Pats and Jets...also Steelers now that I think about it.

If the Dolphins finish 4-2 in the remaining 6 games AND beat the Jets twice of the 4 wins and Pittsburgh once they will have a GREAT chance at being the 2nd wild card team because the teams chasing them at 4-6(there are 6) must win 5 out of 6 to tie the Dolphins AND they would have tie breaker status over Chargers,Browns and Steelers(head to head tie breaker)The only team at 4-6 that has tie breaker in their favor over Dolphins is Baltimore.

For all u tanne haters, its not the accuracy that's the problem. Its mostly the play calling and design. Tanne go's deep in the shotgun. why do u have a play fake and a hitch step on a go route to Wallace with no double move and 4.28 speed? ask the O.C, he's ur problem. Also, 3 of the deep balls where pass interference calls, 2 were caught out of bounds but if u look at the play it is obvious that Wallace could have and should have made the catch in bounds easily. think about it!!

If the Dolphins finish 4-2 in the remaining 6 games AND beat the Jets twice

Posted by: FIRE ROSS REHIRE ROBBIE | November 21, 2013 at 06:34 PM

If the Queen had balls she would be KING! Shove your IF!! also WTF do you not understand that Ross cannot be fired? He OWNS the TEAM he is not an EMPLOYEE!

Greg,

What false stats are those ?

Are you and MIT the same guy ? I think so.

You are another that falls under Thills spell. Then throws your rattle out of the pram when someone clearly points out a players flaws.

I give a critique on Thill as I see it my friend. Your abuse is immature and seriously illustrates your intellect to other bloggers.

Can't argue without resorting to perverted thoughts.

I see Thill as the biggest weakness on this team my amigo. Philbin, Sherman and Coyle too.

Are you happy with 31st place on offense my friend ?

Posted by: Marco | November 21, 2013 at 06:41 PM

You obviously do not read this blog very well. I am NO fan of Mark in Toronto. But I do call a spade a spade. He whupped your asssss. He brought the facts and stats and shut you down. GAME, SET and MATCH.

Greg, MIT exposed himself in many ways comparing Thill to other QB's my friend, only for his arguements to be beaten time and time again.

It may be hard for you to catch all this as there is so much info between us, so you kinda go into the fetal position and start getting lost in your arguement.

Are you happy with 31st on offense ?

Whats that ??? don't blame Thill, he's in his second year, his line suck, his recievers are dropping balls, he will be fine, Brady, Manning and Brees played like Thill, he will be better than Luck ????

You Thill apologists make it really hard for this team to improve when you celebrate how mediocre this guy really is !!!

Marco

I love to call out the jerks that lie and post just to get under the REAL dofans skin....assss holes like you, Sam, Fire Ross, 2Watt, and Daytona. So I will make it a point to expose you losers every chance I get.

Greg I see the Panthers game as catalyst for it all. Panthers beat Pats, so I see them as best remaining opponent on our schedule.

So, by simple deduction, if we're capable of beating the best remaining opponent on our schedule, we should be able to beat anyone else remaining. Beating the Panthers should give a very healthy dose of momentum and self-confidence to our team heading into the final 5 gms.

Especially heading into the Pats game. Then we would have beat the team that beat the Pats. Buffalo? They always pack it in late. Jets? Always a disaster waiting to happen.

Steelers? This year more aluminum foil than steel curtain.

Thank you Sam good explanation.

In trying to do what Armando should be doing, cleaning up this blog of the Daytona crew and Marco's of the world, I lumped you in with them. Yet you just showed you actually bring value to the blog with your post.

Greg, why so angry? Life's too short man.

If you're going to be angry make it something really important, not a meaningless football blog. There are all kinds of other more MEANIFUL causes to direct that energy to.

End world hunger, cure to cancer and other fatal diseases, etc, etc..... I mean the list goes on and on.

What points are those Greg, you've said nothing, other than what you love to do to other bloggers.

You go to my stats or points and start to destroy my arguements like you do with the others.

MIT did nothing my friend. He sort of concluded Thill is a middle of the pack QB who is playing well and his form and stock are rising.

MIT did bring a lot of stats to the table and we debated.

You sort of just bleat !!!

Posted by: Sam I Am | November 21, 2013 at 06:47 PM

You maybe onto to something with this thinking Sam. I think it COULD be possible now. We all know Thill keeps improving with each game. He is better than EJ Manuel and Gino Smith so he should win those games. Brady can be beat and Ben has no tools on offense.

Greg,

Real Dolphin fans, ha ha. What do you know anything of the bloggers mate, nothing to be honest !!!

Still awaiting your points on my comments ???

Marco I see Tannehill far from mediocre. He's young(2nd yr) and some improvements will take time. The Peyton Manning we see today isn't the same Peyton Manning we saw in year two.

My biggest beef with Tannehill right now is stop underthrowing the wide open Wallace deep every single time. If you put the ball where it needs to be and Wallace drop it. Then it's 100% on Wallace.

You sort of just bleat !!!

Posted by: Marco | November 21, 2013 at 06:53 PM

I bleat because I can read what you attempt on every blog. You are here to aggravate real Dolfans. Im not taking your bait. FACT REMAINS that Mark in Toronto EXPOSED you for the fake you are. So crawl away you slimy little limey!
BTW Canadians have ALWAYS been our most ardent supporters and deserve our respect. Your attempt to demean an entire race/county shows what you are. That's why I call you names....you are scrum!!

Greg,

Sam is right. I don't use that kind of language and do give other bloggers credit with great research and comments.

I learn so much from this blog and my opinions are likely to change as the game and season changes no ?

Abusive language is beneath you mate, so come on I'd like you to go through my points regarding Thill to MIT.

Sam please don't fall into the Marco trap. He has been instigating on here for a very long time. He NEVERS admits to being wrong no matter how many facts or stats you bring. He is uselesssssss.

Oscar is sooo right Armando NEEDS to require that people are accountable on here. Post under real names with emails.....all the Daytona/Marco/YG/Fire Ross/2Watt etc crap would go away.
