Christmas gift: Chiefs will rest starters

Once again, Merry Christmas everyone. As I didn't really get you anything, let me do so now:

The Kansas Chiefs, locked into the No. 5 playoff spot and not excited about exposing their players to injuries, are expected to rest their starters against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.

Translated, the Kansas City Star reports, that means the Chiefs, 11-4, likely will approach this game against San Diego, 8-7, much like KC coach Andy Reid did four times in Philadelphia when his Eagles’ teams were locked into playoff positions going into a final week, the same way most teams approach a final preseason game.

He’ll give the starters a series or two and then go to the backups. Unlike in the preseason, a team with 53 players on the active roster can’t rest everyone. But don’t expect to see much of quarterback Alex Smith, running back Jamaal Charles or outside linebacker Tamba Hali, who did not practice Tuesday because of a swollen knee.

“I’m going to work some guys in,” Reid said. “Most of them have already worked in. … I talked to the team, and I will have it figured out by the end of the week exactly how I’m going to work it."

Why is this important news to you on Christmas Day?

Well, the Chiefs play the San Diego Chargers. And the fact they're going to play reserves gives the Chargers, who've already beaten the Chiefs once this season, a greater chance of winning this game as well.

And ...

For the Dolphins to make the playoffs, they need to win on Sunday against the New York Jets and hope for one of two other things to happen: Miami needs Baltimore to lose OR San Diego to beat Kansas City.

The Chargers' chances just got better.

Merry Christmas.

Yup we suck big time we are a joke

We are weak at the point of attack on both sides of the ball we get pushed around like school girls , how that for percentage you dweeb

Agreed blind
They seem to play up to their competition but also down like last week

Funny thing is for a 3 week stretch they looked like a team that had turned a corner. Analyze what ourlast 2 opponents before Buffalo have done to the cometition the week after playing us. The Steelers destroyed the Bengals and the Pats handed the Ravens a smackdown! Then we go up to Buffalo and revert? I believe the elements played a part in the loss, playing in sub-freezing weather with ice cold rain is alot worse than playing in the snow and I know that from personal exp. but getting so overwhelmed on both sides of the line was discouraging!

Given the hard, cold facts, those of you that see the teams performance as unacceptable are merely projecting your disappointment with your own personal performance in life onto the team.

Let's not blur the lines now.

We will get beat by the jets

On any given Sunday. Last weeks game may have been weather, it may have been the false alarm at the hotel, or they could have simply had an off day.

This game will be a great litmus test for the players and coaches to see if they can rebound with an impressive performance.

I'm betting that they will.

jiji, Ape Tamer.

Look at the film poindexter it will set you free , how old are you anyway do you remember the 70s that was football tis is garbage

fin4life....ALSO THE GM TED THOMPSON IS RUMORED TO BE GAY...AND KNOWS ABOUT AARON...NOW WE KNOW WHY HE SLIPPED IN THE DRAFT...THIS IS GONNA BLOW UP..UNLESS THEY PAY OFF THE BOYFRIEND.

J

I've seen here, Marc from nj, Tellus and many others. Remember, I'm a Psychiatrist and I can tell, even from afar on Internet.

Well, it may not be many, maybe only one of the only 3 posters here, besides myself of course.

Oscar you are the best man

Mark in Canada does not appear gay to me. Neither does fin4life.

we will be on the clock after sunday

That is reverse thinking oscar

Dude that real freakin deep man whooooaaa

We have the worst RB's in the NFL, yes?

Sorry. That's patient confidentiality.

I remember a player some Yrs. ago named Esera Tuaolo who said after coming out publically that he tried to give it a go after others on his team (while playing for Dirty Bird Falcons of late 90's) found out about him and they were going at his knees in practice. He stated that he didn't think anyone in that particular sport would ever come out in their Prime because of the Homophobic nature of the sports very macho image. Alonzo Spellman of the Bears who was rumored to have had a sexual relationship with another player on the team also comes to mind as he was shunned and run out of Chicago.

The significance of the player being Rodgers is the fact that today he's arguably the best QB in the game barr none! On his resume a S.B. Title and S.B. MVP along with a League MVP. A very public figure for the NFL with those really funny comercials ect... He isn't some anonymous player that would come out and simply be forgotten.

The link that was put up by LINDAJOHNSONLUV is very revealing and it appears he was one of the 3 coming out last Spring and when he backed out his Boyfriend took acception tweeting that all secrets come with an expiration date. There is also talk the G.M. is gay in G.B. Take it all into account and I for one will be very curious to see how it plays out because he is such a MEGA-STAR player but not it's 1st gay athlete. The BIG question is if it will lead to others doing the same or will it somehow turn the S.B. MVP into a periah of sorts in a game were sexual orientation is a BIG DEAL, no way it's not no matter what anybody says??

In mainstream life it's of very little consequence to most of us but in the fish bowl they live in it's quite a different story I think. In any event this supposed live in assistant has apparently outed one of the League's signature faces. We all know everybody will say the right things but will see how it really plays out and how Rodgers handles the pressure that bombshell would bring to his life in the public U.S. Sports World were he's one of the faces of modern day gladiator glory.

Um, I wouldn't jump to conclusions over that web link alone. If the story has any legs, you can be sure the mass media will be all over it.

And he won't be doing that annoying commercial anymore.

Fire Ross is an idiot and quite ignorant.

Did he not know many people were killed for saying Jesus aka Yeshua is real.

They seen the miracles, they were not going to dismiss their God.

Even Centurians converted after what happened in Golgatha.

People were putting their life on the line every day just to preach the word.

Many saw...

How we got to be near the Playoffs this year I'll never know. There must be something good thrown in there.

If that web link is true, I'm sure all the media is over it right now.

Posted by: Ivan | December 25, 2013 at 07:20 PM

No doubt your probably right but if you give the tweets between them a read it doesn't look like simple regular inte-action between friends, the special Tuesday's at home watching movies and going to awards functons in matching suits with no female companionship out of a 30 Yr old male with money to burn seems very odd. Neither here nor there nor any of my business but the things on that link with all those facts seems strange to me.

He, does, look a little "weak" now that I notice it.

Some will call it parody but to me the AFC is terrible and the League in general isn't that great this Season.

Yoi beat Indy, Cinci, NE who are in the playoffs. And you beat Pitt and San Diego who
are in the hunt.

Winning most Conference games = playoffs

You beat

I agree, fin4. Could it be related to that this is the first year after that CBA? I think so.

east is ours in 2014, pats run over

I call it parody. People are up in arms about the Buffalo loss. Ok, it was a horrible performance. But week to week is a mystery. The Jets beat NE and NO. We beat NE Cincy Pitt Indy. Denver with Manning on fire loses to SD.

Parody is here. Maybe there are 3 or 4 elite teams out of 32.

The power of suggestion.....parity is the correct word.

Many Great Players hurt this year=declining quality of play.

fin4life cannot be Cuban, too many grammatical errors.

I believe the practice rules of the new CBA plays a part in all the injuries. I don't believe there are 4 "ELITE" teams in the NFL by the way. Outside of Seattle I don't see any with the exception of S.F. getting healthy at the right time. Heck after last Sunday saw Von Miller out for the rest of the Yr. with a knee injury we also know Manning will now need to score everytime he has the ball because the D will give up points, so all of a sudden the Pats and Brady with the worst team in N.E. since the Brady ERA are relevant to go to Denver and knock off the Broncos. The Bengals if Dalton can keep the T.O.'s down as well. In what's looking like a bad weather S.B. were Brady in those elements is money. The closest thing to a S.B. this Yr. will be NFC Championship when the Hawks play the 49ers.

Well then Armando can't be Cuban either. He is atrocious.

Well, Armando is of the new litter, you know...

Heynot bad considering I'm at a family funcion typing into a phone. By the way Oscar were having (un lechon hecho en una caja China!)

If the regular season was any indicator, I'd bet on the underdogs in every playoff game.

So? There are many gay men that marry lesbians to preserve appearances in front of society while each carries their own ways. Look in the high places for that.

Now, you don't want to mess around in those places, media, do you?

I find the whole gay thing to be a very boring topic. Who cares. It's there. Let it be......And move on.

I said it, Bodine, it's not a matter of nature vs nurture. You can't change it. It's strictly nature.

Gayness, which has existed throughout time, is further proof that the Creator messed up the recipe. We aren't the ones that need to be forgiven. If anything, he should be asking our forgiveness. Daily.

Absolutely.

What kind of Creator creates a world where some babies are born into riches and have Geisha's wiping their butts their entire lives, while other babies are born into extreme poverty and starvation?

Just exactly who is to blame here?

I will not worship the Creator of such foul deeds. Nope.

Hey, where are my posts? You can't be that much of bible thumpers in this day and age. Can you?

It's just that the Creator created all gays equal, Blind. hmm...

guys, I meant, guys

Your consistant I'll give you that! My problem wih Religion is the mass genocide committed throghout Human History in the name of Religion. Christ himself who did exist and tried teaching another form of Religion ended up martyred himself in the name of his cause by those he professed as his people. Followed by Romans feeding Christians to Lions into the time of the early crusades so on and so forth. It's a sticking point that has claimed Millions with Hitler the 20th Centuries most barbaric example outside of Milosovich.

I don' post here often but I thought I would throw in my two cents tonight. First Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope we never take the Christ out of Christmas. That being said, several observations. It seems like this is a site for a never ending attack on the same players, coaches and GM. Been a big Dolphin fan all my life and as tough as the last 10 years have been, I think we're on the right track. The NFL site has a ranking of QB's and despite last weeks debacle, the writer had RT ranked 14 of 32, on the rise and multiple potential future pro bowls. Regarding coaching, they seem to be a stubborn bunch when it comes to game plans and play calls but despite the JM, Incogs meltdown, Philbin and company managed to keep the players engaged enough to beat the Cinci, the Jets, Pittsburg and NE in the second half of the season. When it comes to Ireland, I just don't know but I would say this, watch the damn games. It appears to this fan that we have some talent but the players aren't put in a position to consistently succeed and thats on coaching. If we win this week and manage to make the playoffs, we could potentially play the Colts, Bengals or Patriots, all winnable games. As a fan, I hope we continue to progress and this Sunday should be interesting. Cheers.

When I was 20, I craved most bj's.

When I was 25 I craved most them on top.

When I was 30 I craved most doggie. More control.

Now passing 40, I crave most licking those flowering glistening wet lips and absorbing all their pleasure as they press me closer into them.

This not politically correct to say, but hell, I've seen it throughout all of my career. Homosexuality belongs in the spectrum of Psychiatric disorders. There. GN. I have to work tomorrow.

All men are created equal sounds nice whe you read the U.S. Declaration of Ind. but we both know that's just not so!! Having had the opportunity to travel extensively around the World, I came to the sad conclusion I live in the most bigoted society in current human history. This Country has such a racial divide that it will never over come it.

Blind Faith,
Our creator made us in his likeness but gave us free will. We''re not robots or perfect beings. We have a choice. We can live in darkness or we can live in the light. God doesn't condone the killing, hatred, racism etc., It's man who makes that choice to do these things. That being said, we will all stand in judgment one day. Even if you're not a believer, surely you can see perfection in nature. Was it all some incredible accident? It just doesn't seem plausible to me. Cheers.

fin....hear, hear!!!!!

Now that the media age has arrived in FULL FORCE. We've seen time and again these religious leaders being exposed as frauds. No surprise. We only hear of the ones that get caught, and their own people (The Vatican) works to sweep it under the rug, move them to new unsuspecting communities. Essentially they say who cares if children get molested as long as church attendance is up. What can be more despicable? Nothing! Yet they ask for forgiveness and their fearful of reality followers accept them back. Yes, forgive. What a convenient mantra for a religion. Forgive. Go kill 80 people and rape 800 girls and just ask for forgiveness, and your cool, good to go. Ummmm....I don't think so.

The stories they feed you to begin with are more preposterous than the hallucinations of those on LSD. Adam and Eve??? A woman made from his rib??? Huh? All this punishment for all time over eating an apple??? Huh??? You kidding me??? The red sea parting? Let's just throw the laws of physics out the window.

Our creator made us in his likeness but gave us free will. We''re not robots or perfect beings. We have a choice.

Posted by: Ron in Dallas | December 25, 2013 at 08:50 PM

Free will? What world are you living in friend?

Have you traveled much? I don't mean to take pictures of tourist sites. But have you TRAVELED??? Have you seen the world? I think not.

I have traveled through the backlands of South America and seen extreme poverty that would make our ghettos look like Beverly Hills. I've brought food to them, giant bags of rice and beans and pasta. Babies born into impoverished families living oppressively hot and dry climates, no air conditioning, no fans, and food is scarce to where young children may frequently go 24 hours or more with no food. Um, what free will do they have? They can't go flip burgers at a fast food restaurant or sweep floors at Walmart, they have no work and no opportunity. Those in cold climates have no heating or hot water. Have you ever taken a cold shower with no hot water when its 28 degrees outside and 29 degrees inside? I don't think so.

The problem with the American religious is that they are so utterly ignorant. They have no idea what the rest of the world deals with. They are fed nonsense propaganda that is completely outside of reality in other countries. They teach you to live in the dark, they don't want you to see how these ideas of choice and free will do not pertain to the vast majority.

Forgve me for saying but GTFOH!
