Dolphins beat Steelers, still alive in playoff chase

PITTSBURGH -- Milestone day for these Dolphins.

They not only beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 34-28, but so many other things happened that affect this season that we need a list:

The Ravens lost to Minnesota. The Ravens beat the Vikings after the teams traded four TDs in 82 seconds. That means the Dolphins still trail for the sixth and final playoff qualifier for the AFC playoffs. The Ravens remain ahead of the Dolphins in the playoff chase despite having the same 7-6 record because Baltimore beat Miami.

This game was meaningful for other reasons:

The Dolphins had not scored more than 27 points this season. They did that.

The Dolphins had not scored an offensive touchdown in eight consecutive games. They did that.

Daniel Thomas, playing the entire second half because backfield mate Lamar Miller was knocked out of the game with a concussion, had a 55-yard run that. He rushed for 105 yards on 16 carries.

Charles Clay caught seven passes for 97 yards. He caught two touchdown passes, including the winning score.

The Dolphins rushed 24 times for 181 yards and and an 8.6 average.

Watch this fool talk himself out of this post. LOL

Armando would it kill you to proof read your post?

She should be banned. Contributes zero. Is a classless moron.

That last play was a huge FAIL for Coyle & D. Divine intervention saved it.

ill go turnovers win it ralph pitt very tough at home. i dont see our offense getting in endzone at all

FIRE ROSS knows nothing about football. He is a jackass who spends all his time spouting nonsense. The guy that left him was a Dolphins fan.

Welcome to the Internet, Elmo. Write your own perfect blog. #whinyasstittybaby

Wow the Pats recover an onside kick. That is the luckiest team. Now Brady will win the game. OMG!

T-hill is our franchise QB. In crunch time in the 4th quarter he marched us right down the field to put us ahead to win the game. Eat dirt naysayers....LOL

the minnesota vikings are 3-9 for a reason. now, if the dolphins keep winning, i see several paths to the playoffs materializing. so really, nothing other than that matters.

Not hearing toomany 'Daniel Thomas is the worst running back I've ever seen' or 'Charles Clay is another Ireland draft bust'. Bunch of fukking putzes......

GREAT win today.....now lets get ready for New England.

Here goes another letdown for Miami!!!

Truth, im with ya, but 3 times to Thomas on last drive nearly killed us. On Sherman I guess.

the referees just gave the game to the patriots.

This is the closest thing to a playoff game since 2008. Pathetic franchise.

Huge win for the fins. I was hoping for a Pat loss but with Brady there is no chance.

Horrible call by the refs on a pass interference. They always find a ways to give the stinking pats the victory. It sucks to see the refs deciding games.

And they talked about the replacement refs.

and, the referees almost gave the game to pittsburg. roethlisberger made an obvious forward lateral on the last play.

Yep. WE dodged a few PI calls.

After a win like this if you are not ready to jump on the Phins bandwagon it's never going to happen. You can stop coming here and bad mouthing these guys. We are a good team and when no one picked us to beat the Steelers we came into wintery conditions and beat them at home. Like T-hill said the stat he likes best are wins....me too!!!

.Craig M..I gave my crow eating speech on the last page of the previous thread. I got in a small debate this morning about Thomas, Gillislee, and who should get the carries. I was dead wrong..

That was an amazing game to watch..Awesome!

Didn't see that Austin but believe it. Autistic 9yo did well to let me watch game; I'm not entitled to watch postgame.

Wish we had a Rothlisberger.

Had we started Gillislee we would have lost. Thomas's experience blocking and running shined.

Coach Philbin is already congratulating the Steellers. Their fans and coaches too. He also wants to thank the good lord with blessing them for the opportunity to play in snow.

Truth,

I couldn't care less about those clowns. I don't want them jumping on the bandwagon. They're not part of this. They're not real fans. They made their beds, let them ROT in them.

Great win for Tanne and Phins.

I got 30 points combined from Clay and sturgis

..2 db's that have been unfairly ripped all season who played very good games..Carrol and Wilson were great today.

Soliai down. That is the game, and the season.

The playoffs will depend on other teams. We have to run the table and then hope that a team can beat the Ravens.

If the fins run the table and go 10-6, you have to bring Philbin, Ireland, and this coaching staff back. Even if they don't make the playoffs. This team is on the way up.

Browns were robbed by the REFS on a PI call on them in the end zone.

Gronk was carted off the field with a leg injury also during this game.

This was an awesome win by the Dolphins. Thill really coming through for the team.

I got in a small debate this morning about Thomas, Gillislee, and who should get the carries. I was dead wrong..

And I got attacked from all sides for suggesting if Thomas is ahead of Gillislee, there must be a reason for it.

You've owned up to your comments....so no gripes from me.

This is going to be a very low scoring game.

For for the visiting team. This has blowout written all over it.

Another stupid post from a clueless blogger. LOL!

Orlando, I think we can lose to Pats and still have shot. Ravens have tough last 3.

Darn!! The Browns almost pulled it off. They just missed a 58 yard FG.

...@4:41.That was a bad call. I have a feeling that the Pat probably score a td anyway...That call was soft, soft, soft....

Another day at the beach for the Steelers....Miami being pushed around and looking incompetent as usual.

PRIOR TO SEASON I IDENTIFIED 3 GAMES WE HAD TO WIN TO MAKE POSTSEASON:

Indy
SD
Pitt

Check, check & check

Tell me why we watch this team after Twenty Years of Suckitude?
Adverse weather & an urgent situation =Steeler victory. In their worst season they havr tons more character and heart than our losers. Here comes the pain!

Fear not fin fans. Coach Philbin is doing his part to raise the temperature at the stadium. He is walking around with his jaw wide open.

BINGO! That's why he comes here! He has zero integrity and could care less about Miami's win-loss record. He just wants to be able to piss people off.

He is too much of a biatch in real life to talk shite so he became a keyboard warrior!

Great job Dolphins, crazy game! Have a great night people.

We have heart.

We just don't enough talent.

Would have been nice if Minny held on against the ravens.....but alas not to be !!!

Bring on the Pats!!!!

..Walt..I only try to offer my opinions. I am certainly wrong plenty of times. I try not to be the guy whos opinions are the "gospel according to Darryl Dunphy"..Anyway. Thomas had a great game. Perhaps his best game as a Phin considering the stakes..

Well done..

Ha.. now the trolls will say that Miami hasn't scored more than 34 point in one game.

Such a stupid stat...

Boy, are the Dolphins making a lot of People in this Blog eat mighty Crow, including dusty.

Now it is on to play the pats with no Gronk! The fins will not catch the Pats this year but they better look out in the future. This Dolphins squad is for real. The fins are almost built now. They are just a few players away from being a great team. Let's keep this team together.

Ireland needs just one more draft and one more offseason. We need a couple of OL, another TE, and a FB.

there is no doubt in my mind that the referees are influenced by the aura of the patriots. i would be interested to know exactly what the pre game routine consists of in foxboro. kraft is notorious for getting cozy with the media, and it wouldn't surprise me if the ``amenities" for the officials there are extra good there. nothing illegal, but that the routine stuff is the best around. it is well known that chris berman's daughter works in the office there. and espn guys are routinely seen in kraft's sky box.

Next week's game against the Pats is going be huge for the Dolphins. If they can beat the Pats @ home it will be a great confidence booster for them. And us fans!

1) Very impressed with Tannehill. Mark of a good QB is not cave after a turnover and make a comeback. And did you see how he looked off D on left and threw right? That's what you want to see.

2) I admit it, I was wrong about Clay. Looked good this season & top shelf today

3) Not wrong about Thomas. Fragile and undependable

Grea win, a tonne of resiliene to coe bck from a slow start on defense and a pick six. Never gave up.

Daniel THomas may not be the bst back in the world ut hes sacrificed everything healhwise for this team. Got to give him that.

OK, going to chek in to the emergency war. No way my heart is in good shape after that game. NOt good when your right arm is numb, is it?

montreal, you do realize it's one pyschotic ocd blogger with schizo disorder making up names. "Daytona" was banned but it seems as of late he made his way back... MANDO it's time to whip out your ban stick again.

"Daytona" aka YG

Truth thill hasnet shown any flashes of greatnes even in a loss i try to see if he shows any signs of progression. None. Thill is not the answer, when the commentators are pointing out the wrong things hes doing its emberassing. Its plain to see he doesnt have it.
