Live blog: Dolphins at Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH -- Dimitri Patterson is active today. Daniel Thomas is active today.

The Dolphins are in the snow.

Nolan Carroll still starts at CB. Lamar Miller still starts at RB. (Obviously, Patterson and Thomas are available).

The flurries are falling steadily.

The media that reported Daniel Thomas was out for the year (The Sun-Sentinel and Palm Beach Post) were wrong.

The inactives: Pat Devlin, Jamar Taylor, Will Davis, D.J. Campbell, Danny Watkins, David Arkin, and A.J. Francis.

There is a live blog today. Join me on twitter @ArmandoSalguero:

First!

Go Dolphins!!!

Are The steelers wearing there bumble bee uniforms??

I think Kris actually convinced himself Richie's work ethic sucked because he held a few oline meetings at a strip club.

Come on Kris, admit it man! hahaha And how can you continually come up with these opinions when you have no clue what is going on in the locker room? It's like you are guessing and hoping something sticks.

Need I repost the multiple Incognito posts from Kris about how he extorted money and all of the other things HE NEVER DID but Kris bought as truth because the media told him so OR he made up his mind without ALL of the facts? Come on Kris! hahaha

I know exactly what you mean. It is so typical of Kris, who is always telling others to be objective.

Ugliest uniforms EVER....those bumble bee unis.

Ireland would pick Ape Tamer as the best poster on this blog.

Nice to see Patterson in the line-up. Hope his Hamstring holds up in the cold.

Wow D Thomas is back, thanks for the heads up. Shame I thought Gillislee would get some yards on the Steelers D. We have to run the run today early downs.

Thill will have to have a great game securing the ball and stepping up into the pocket. I would like to see him throw to the backs a bit more today as Miller could be dangerous in the flats.

No WR screens today please !!! Those slants we run against the Jets were awesome and allowed our recievers to get in space and break tackles.

On D wrap up the tackles on Big Ben and keep the heat on him. The Steelers have vunerable against the run, so this could open up the passing game for us, as we all know. Sherman must keep with the run or we are in trouble, putting it all on Thill.

Thill will probably run a bit mmore today, as the season is really on the line today. Win here and we have an awesome shot at the playoffs.

Go Dolphins.

Go FINS!!! Huge game today...If we can get to 7 wins with 3 games left, I like our chances...

PHIN NATION...

RISE...

GO FINS!!! BEAT THE STEELERS!!!

Enjoy the game all!!!!

Go fins!

And go Vikings.

Nolan Carroll always seems to slip out the break when he goes to drive on the ball. This weather may affect him big time. Hope he doesn't look like this today:

...I think, or hope Gillislee gets Thomas' carries today. Probably will not happen. I have to ask. Have we already seen enough of D. Thomas? I'm not sure what he brings to the team at this point that makes us better with him in the lineup? Gillislee looked more then capable last week. It wasn't a Will Davis or Jamar Taylor performance that would suggest he wasn't ready to play..He ran hard, ran low..Give him some carries.

Rock on Phins nation! Be the Steelers!

I've never seen a RB worse than Daniel Thomas.

Beat the Steelers!

Gillislee looked more then capable last week.

Not to my eyes. Other that his longest run of only 6 yards he was stuffed.

Sometimes I wonder what some of you are drinking...always thinking the grass is greener.

Forget the Terrible Towel!

Would love to see Dolphins draft Kelvin Benjamin, FSU wr. At 6'5 235lbs he would be a huge Tannehill target. Greatly reminds of another LITTLE KNOWN wr while he was still at FSU. EVERYBODY knows him now:

Anquan Boldin!

Walter Camp has him going 2-3rd rd. He has 50 catches 957yds 19.1ypc 14 tds. He's huge and gets mad YACS after the catch. Chief reason his YPC is so high.

He's Jameis Winston's main go to guy in all CRUCIAL situations. EVEN pulled down a td lastnight with 2 DEFENDERS draped all over him, in the endzone, DOUBLE COVERED.

Brent Grimes in Pre-Game warm up.

We have Keller and Gibson coming back. Not likely we draft a WR with so many other pressing needs like OL, OL, OL, RB and OL.

RT17 to wallace all day long. GO DOLPHINS!!!

DD...the coaches have a love affair with Thomas.....and like most fans, I have no clue why.....

GO FINS !!!!! Just Win !!!!

I believe D Thomas will be a Dolphin until e's no longer CHEAP anymore. Most likely he's out of here when he becomes a fa.

Dolphins lose today and The Ravens win. That's two games down people. Then next week The Patriots beat The Phins.

At 6-8 will you guys still be thinking "play offs."

Sammy agree I think he's related to UMs Travis Benjamin..

I would love to see the Dolphins draft Johnny Manziel Mr Football. He can extend the plays and has the accuracy to hit Mike Wallace in stride on the deep balls.

Fins win today....fins win !!!!

Sam I Am you might have enjoyed a career in sports management because you are talking about the draft on a game day no less.If you ever watch the Heat games Keiser School of sports management wants to educate you and then its up to you.
That could be your dream job call immediately and get a brochure.

At 6-8 will you guys still be thinking "play offs."

Some people learn to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. You on the other hand simply just hope for the worst.

I feel sorry for your children who will go through life giving up on everything instead of trying.

Im all out of faith, but good luck to you miami dolphins and may we have some good fortune.for a change

..Walt..Fair enough. You an have Thomas. For the reasons we got rid of Reggie Bush for Lamar Miller. We should use Gillislee in Thomas role IMO..It isn't like we will be worse.

I believe D Thomas will be a Dolphin until e's no longer CHEAP anymore.

.

BINGO!!

Nick Foles has 19 td's and no int's.

Tannehope 12 td's and 13 int's.

Franchise qb.

Will today be Tannereach's 2013 version of The Titans game ?

Three int day ? Pick six ?

He's been flirting with disaster all season.

We shall see.

Not to my eyes. Other that his longest run of only 6 yards he was stuffed.

You failed to mention Gillislee only had 6 CARRIES for the entire game.

If you are great enough to declare a guy bust after only 6 games, then why aren't you where the humanity needs you most, bringing about "WORLD PEACE"?

Humanity suffers because you only choose to display your great talents on a totally meaningless football blog. Please share the wealth sir.

6 carries

darryl,

Enlighten me to how many practices you've watched in order to determine which player gives the team the best chance to win now?

Unlike many bloggers, I don't assume I know better than the experienced coaches that actually witness the training and practices day in and day out

Im also all out of faith, but good luck to you homers.

Sam I Am if you believe Keiser is your road to management in pro sports get back with me I got some better offers that are more realistic.
If you want to go pro try the ivy league thats where the competition is and where if you survive you be ready for six figures.

If you are great enough to declare a guy bust after only 6 games, t

Show me where I declared him a bust? Take a chill pill dude - and don't make things up. One decent carry in six tries just wasn't enough for me to say I was sold on him being better than Thomas.

Don't any of you read what is said or do you all just prefer to put words in others mouths in order to make yourself look better?

The name of this blog should be Heckle and Jeckel.

Or maybe Dumb and Dumber.

Thomas sucks.

Previous blog, Dashi-
Wilson and RG3 won't pass for 4000 yds because their teams RUN THE BALL, which leads to fewer pass attempts, leading to fewer passing yards. Miami does not run the ball, which leads to more pass attempts, more passing yards, etc. That was the point I was getting at- 4000 passing yds are not special when you throw 75% of the time and your offense is ranked 26th overall.

I'm looking forward to the Seattle - San Fran game at 4!!

This is just one more example of pig headed-ness from Philbin. Once Philbin makes a decision right or wrong, it's written in stone. It just boggles the imagination

Walt, I'm a med student, Tannehill will be working for me someday, I have no kids...and I'm a realist.

You can Tannehope all you like and put your money in a wicker basket.

You will be disappointed.

My guess would be the reason the staff likes Thomas a little more than Miller is that he probably has a better grasp of the offense and is better in protection.

IT'S ON

This is just one more example of pig headed-ness from Philbin.

I guess it is just unfathomable for any of you to believe that just maybe Thomas is out-practicing the rookie Gillislee? Do you really think they wouldn't put the best guy in? Does it make sense to replace an under achiever with somebody worse?

Some of you seem to be suggesting the HC doesn't want to win games.

I would love to see the Dolphins draft Johnny Manziel Mr Football. He can extend the plays and has the accuracy to hit Mike Wallace in stride on the deep balls.

Posted by: AtlFin | December 08, 2013 at 12:36 PM

Walt, thing scaring me most about Manziel is he never takes snaps underneath center. Shotgun benefits short qb's, already being far enough off the line to see his receivers routes develop, and making quicker decisions.

In the NFL, qb's primarily take snaps underneath center. He may have slight problem seeing the routes develop while dropping back. Tougher to see over the behemoth d-linemen.

Russell Wilson was more pro ready because he did take snaps underneath center in college. Because Manziel doesn't take snaps underneath center, I'm not sure he's day one starter NFL qb material.

He's taking many hits running around in college. So, imagine what happens if he thinks he can consistently run around in the pros? Odds are he will not have a very long pro career, even though he will make some exciting plays. But, how long will that style of quarterbacking last over the duration of an NFL season(16 games).

Walt .

I've never seen a RB worse than Daniel Thomas. He's gone.

There is no shortness of preparation on either of both Teams Today. They know what is at stake. The deciding factor? Execution, of course. As always.

I think that the Dolphins are a better team than the Steelers. However, it is cold in Pittsburg and they have big Ben. That will even out the playing field today.

It should be a close game today. I hate to say this but a close game favors the Steelers. They have the Home Field, it is cold, and they have Big Ben.

I am still optimistic but it will not be easy.

Ten minutes til the season ending loss begins.

Remember to visit Sea World.

I wonder if The Steelers need penguins at the stadium in a pathetic effort to generate interest ?

Let's face it. Fan's are generally knee-jerk reactors and tend to believe, based on a minute amount of information, that they know better than the coaches.

The fans if given the power would jerk players, replace QB's and coaches at such an alarming rate that they couldn't possibly ever achieve anything.

Miserable conditions? No excuse whatsoever, it is the same for both Teams. Go out there and Play!

Our luck just sucks. The Steelers have been steady improving and now we have rain and snow flurries.

This is why we had to beat the Bucs and Bills. However if your worth your salt, you find a way to win this one.

I'm not feeling real confident. Then again I haven't been in awhile.

As fans, we magically believe we are blessed with such a keen eye for the game that we know better than the pro's who have coached 60-80 hours a week for decades, many of whom have ACTUALLY PLAYED THE GAME AT THE PRO LEVEL.

Orland Dolphin...when is it ever easy with this team ?

There's three people here today.

After 6-8, there will be three people at Dolphins games.

Shame how far this franchise has fallen.

Shamu taking flight on the helmet in place of tradition.

The Heat rule the town.
