Live blog: Dolphins hope to make playoff reach

Tell me before kickoff ... Will the Dolphins show up today?

Will coach Joe Philbin have them well motivated to the point they play fast and jump on the Jets?

(Peanut Gallery: But Mando, if they can't get motivated for a big game like this, when can they? They don't need the coach motivating them.)

Dear Gallery, did you catch the Buffalo game last week?

Have you seen this franchise's recent history?

The Jets have not won consecutive games this year. They won last week. Just saying.

The inactives for the Dolphins today are: Pat Devlin, Mike Gillislee, Will Davis, Jalil Brown, Danny Watkins, David Arkin and A.J. Francis.

C'mon Fins!!!

Again, the almost Godly LV has Us by 6 1/2. Me? I don't know, depends on the Weather.

Has Taylor overtaken Davis in the deserve CB stakes Armando??

This is a mediocre team. You never know how they will play on any give day. It's been this way for many years. What else is there to say.

WhoTH are all those Anglo guys in the live chat of this Blog? Never heard of them.

least brenner was benched

oscar those are the same morons that fill the blog with toilet drivel under their other names.

yeah oscar that is way to many points, if your betting today take the jets. fins will win by 3 or 4 at most so u will cover

last game ever for dierdorf, maybe he will actually call a good game

You might not know it, but sooner rather than later, you will have a Cuban as President, so all you Anglos, behave!

dusty....I suspect a good call. However hoping for a bit more of a cushion! Not betting this game but as a fan I'm hoping for a blow out as opposed to the 'nail biter'. But I'll take a win in any shape or form.

Tannehill back, back...rolls right....back, back, throws, PICKED OFF BY CALVIN PACE FOR A TD! WOW What a play.

Tannehill in the shotgun, Tannehill Sacked!

Tannehill in the shotgun, Tannehill Sacked!

Tannehill in the shotgun, Tannehill Sacked!

Three sacks in a row and a new all time sack record!

My Ooooooh My!

In 3 minutes I will turn on my Internet TV to watch all that drivel falling off the announcer's mouth.

Oscar...looking forward to the time as long as their last name isn't Castro or Rubio.

4th quarter, ten minutes left. Matt Moore coming into the game. He goes deep...he has Wallace open PICKED OFF pass was over thrown.

That should seal the deal folks.

Another disappointing season for the Miami Dolphins.

Chris Berman has picked Miami to lose in EVERY game this season. That's the ultimate example of a hack.

Put on your safety belts folks, we are in for one heck of a roller-coaster ride....

Lets hope our LBs don't suck as bad as they did last week...

Just proves you can pick these Dolphins to lose for an entire season and still hover around .500

if Tannehill change the snap count we have a chance as long they change the insane Go=Passing / Go Go= Running....if he cant, please play Moore before is too late, in first play of the whole season Moore threw a perfect long pass like Tannehill hasnt been able to do in 2 seasons! just saying...

Actually, that was a good interchange between the 2 greatest QBs of the Modern Era of Football.

Will we get the Dolphins that turned up in Buffalo, or the team that beat out the Pats, its so hard to tell.

Im guessing we play better than we did against the Bills and have the homefield advantage and a week to correct a few season long concerns.

The Jets will know that they can run or pass against our D well today as the Bills did. The Jets also know that they can get to Tannehill early as the Bills did. We have to get rid of the ball early and run with some innovation, committment and authority.

Hartline better not have those early drops again and the backs will have to pick up their pass protection for us to have a chance today. The games on Tannehill, so its going to be a very close one. I'll go 24-21 to Miami, we should be able to force a few turnovers from Smith if we get Jordan on the field and Wake back into action.

Lets hope we can keep the Wets under 150 yards rushin...

OMG, David Arkin OUT???
Well, that's the ball game right there!

LOL

BTW, a coming Happy New Year to all, and hope 2014 brings everyone good health and happiness.
If the Fins get after Smith, I see a repeat of the first game. If not, anything could happen…and usually does to our Fins.
20-10 Miami.

Hope is all we can do, but you just know that Smith will pick on them. RexRyan will give this evrything he's got, 4th and shorts, fake punts FG's onside kicks, whatever it takes to stop us getting in.

We have to be aggressive today and get after Smith. Today we need to Wallace Tannehill connection to work, we have to match the Rex Ryan all out atitude. If we go behind a couple of TD's early, the game will be a sack festival for the Jets.

We have a Jekyll/Hyde team(Dolphins) facing a Jekyll/Hyde qb(Geno Smith).

Good luck Vegas, this one's like taking bets on the Special Olympics!

"I like (Philbin) a lot. He's a heck of a guy and comes from a great program, so he's been with a winner," Shula said before Sunday's game. "You can see the imprint on what's happening here, and the people he's hiring and the way that they're playing.

"I think that he's the right man for the job."

----

But I guess Truth knows better than Shula and we should fire everyone.

Mando, Go Dolpins yeah ???

Once again, stop the run and establish the run will be keys to success. Geno is running more lately and they can't allow him to keep the chains moving. I'd the fins stay balanced they won't be able to put the full pressure package on Thill. They need balanced run/pass offense, which is always tough for Sherman (pass happy).

Sam, +1 on the first comment. Not so the 2nd. I've helped out several times at our Special Olympics here in Nashville. The SAME people win year after year. It's still about training, will, athleticism.

looks like the weatherman striked out again. Its raining! Can't throw the ball when it rains. We need a roof at Joe Robbie period.

Guess we should have kept Cam Cameron them too ?

WHO HAS IT BETTER THAN US?

Let's all just give up and die before the kick off.

Mike, If Ronald Reagan was here he'd say, TEAR DOWN SUN LIFE, MR ROSS!"
Then build in Coral Gables, say, adjacent to the UM campus! LOL

WhoTH told you that Rex will be all out? He might not even show up. In any case, who cares?

Passion, hype, excitement are all great. But they don't beat execution. Miami can't wait until they are down 10 points before they decide to play (I hated that answer from Philbin). How about starting strong and not looking back? This is a 1 game Playoff. LETS GO MIAMI!!!

But I guess Truth knows better than Shula and we should fire everyone.

Posted by: Juror #8 | December 29, 2013 at 12:50 PM

Yes but he also endorsed Sparano and Henne...just saying...

Shula has given his blessing to all the Dolphin coaches, what do you expect ? He isn't going to give the media a straight answer and throw the coach under the bus, you really have to start looking between the lines. You could even try forming your own opinion and not going on what the journalists are telling you what Shula thinks.

Want to see a minimum of four Thill runs today....and minimum of four roll out passes per half. If Sherman sticks with pocket passing only he is an idiot!

All kidding aside, the Jets suck!

last time we made the playoffs was when we put a beating on Farve & JESTS in the season finale. one more time. GO DOLPHINS!!

Damn fools. Shula is in a wheelchair and can't remember his name. Stop looking in the past idiots. It's about the NOW! Philbin, Tannehill, THAT'S what matters, who cares what Shula thinks.

Posted by: jpao | December 29, 2013 at 12:52 PM

It's Philbin that's pass happy. Sherman has said he prefers to run more.

Yeah, and he also said about Saban, I think he's got them headed in the right direction. But please notice the, I think.

They simply can't blow this.

Can they????

Clearly not you ? Its important to now your opponent, you must be able to see that, gameplanning is formulated on the opponent, well thats the plan.

START STRONG!!!

Dolphins will win today! The Dolphins match up well against the Jets. Last week was an aberration vs. the Bills. The fins had to deal with a team that matched up well against their biggest weaknesses. The fins went in with a bad game plan. They wanted to sling the ball through the air and played right in to the Bills' hands. That was a game where you had to run the football and the fins ran the ball only 12 times.

This will be a different game. The fins will be able to play to their strengths and that is throwing the football.

Go fins, Go Bengals, Go Chargers!

Be sure to inform us of every bad decision and bad play during the game. I mean who knows better than you guys?

If Sherman doesn't move Thill out of the pocket he should be fired at the end of the game..

Actually he should be fired any way..

Nice 1st play.

Meant no "ill feel" against those "dear and special" in our communities. I have much love for them. I deeply apologize for it coming across in an "ill-fated" way.

Yeah we will sit quietly and say nothing like good Americans, regardless of the games events... wow get a grip.

Gee Miller runs tentatively

Looking into the stands, doesn't look like very many ants showed for the picnic today.

Thill picked up the CB Blitz..

Sam…your comment was FINE. I just wanted tom make the point about those kids that just HAVE the abilities. Please, NO WORRIES!!

There's that crack running game

Might as well throw every down
